This is such an interesting episode, I live at the uni that seller in Hatfield takes his pictures at every weekend (outside my flat) and I’ve always wondered how legit his motors are so it was funny to even see you looking at his marketplace but this one seems like the nuts so fair play to him!
Seemed Solid for an 18 year old Ford Era Land Rover Discovery the newer Land Rovers under Tata would be more reliable JLR have sorted our there Reliabilty and actual make Decent Cars now. But this Disco seems very solid.

Nice to see the disco 3 getting some love! I bought one earlier this year. Being a mechanic and having worked on many of them, I was a bit worried and had huge buyers remorse once the deal was done. A month and a bit later, I have absolutely fallen in love with the thing. It's so capable, comfortable and surprisingly, not horrendous on fuel. Great video lads! Great watch!
Same. Had mine since February, huge improvement on the old D1 and D2 but did question my sanity for a while after buying it. Chose an S model to avoid some of the potential issues. Have grown quite fond of it.

Channel keeps improving, started great and somehow still getting better. The other arfs old man has a disco 3 and it has only started doing landrover things since he had a flat battery, so, dont do that! Also had handvrake problems which seemed to be the 'XYZ Module' Taylor likely knows the reset procedure, hopefully its as easy as that for yours!

Make sure you read the manual on locking the air suspension before lifting it. Otherwise, split airbags! 😉

Great choice for your needs. Get it mapped and do a full service and it will last for ever. Last year I looked at at least 100 disco 3s and they all had massive faults and i ended up buying a D2 for 4g. The great thing about the D2 is it has less faults than the d3 for electric reasons. Don't forget the d3 back seats you will slide to the other side with no seat belt on :) take it round a track with some one in the back WITH NO BELT ON and see :D
Absolutely love my Disco 3. You'll get plenty of use from that lift with it :D Make sure you stick some all terrains on it and take it green laning

Every time I watch these budget challenges (and I do love them), I get so mad at how overpriced used cars are in my country, while the average income is lower. For example, this particular car is double, triple and even quadruple the price. It is absurd... Anyhow, keep up the good work and congrats on the marriage!
Was not sure about this when Alex left Car Throttle as people going off on their own from channels that seem to work well is usually not that great…….how wrong I was! This show is fantastic and knocks it out the park! It’s a ‘mini’ old fashioned top gear! (From me that’s a HUGE compliment!) Thanks guys!!!!

CombiColour Rustoleum is a really good paint for the chassis. Usually used for structural steelwork; it's got good durability and rust inhibition. They do a primer but I've painted directly to wire-brushed rust and it still looks good.
I second this! I've used this on numerous land rovers over the years. It's slightly flexible (unlike hammerite) so it doesn't flake off as easily.
Excellent video, great choice. The only thing I would suggest you really apply pro-active maintenance with these Discos, then they are very reliable. Unfortunately even when you have full LR service history it's not enough. For example re the air suspension, before it breaks do this : you can rebuild the air compressor for about £25 and the replace the ride height sensors. With this done you are highly to have any further issues. Also this diesel engine breaths lots of air so change the air filter often to optimise mpg. Be proactive. Lovely looking Disco that one.

@Jabber 1974 ...and for people who don't understand how outstandingly good the turning circle is on the Disco, and how terrible the Volvos is. When towing, turning circle is everything.
