That was an experience that nobody either watching or attending will ever forget. Having lived in Germany for 13 years with the US Air Force, I can tell you that most Europeans in general and Germans in particular know more about America and our customs, music and history than most Americans do. This wasn't us vs you or my team against yours, this was a celebration of NFL football for all the world to see. Glad you got to experience it in person.
That's awesome!
Well said Gary!
No truer words have ever been spoken! I grew up at Zweibrucken AB (closed) and Ramstein AB and was enlisted myself at Rhein-Main AB (closed)....12 years of my life in Germany.
@JellyDonuts20 Do you miss Germany from time to time?
The crowd was amazing. The game was amazing. Tom Brady throwing a TD to Julio Jones, in 2022, was amazing. That game was an experience. Go Bucs!
Tampa got away with the worst holding all game that I've ever seen in an NFL game. So many plays their oline was grabbing and tackling Seattle dline from behind. The last running play that sealed the game, #76 shoved and threw down Seattle's dlineman from behind right as he was going to tackle the RB for no game.
@Mike B cry more
@Mike B call the waaaambulance
@Kevin T right?????
@Kevin T 🤣🤣🤣
I live in munich, I am 36 years old and have followed football for 30 years and still play football since 23 years here in the 3rd division with the München Rangers. It was really a great honor to have you and the NFL here. I would have loved to meet you in the city because I am a big fan of you and your show. Thank you for everything. I was in the Stadium and it was really a once in a lifetime experience and I will never forget this day.
You guys are great too❤ 🇩🇪🇺🇸
Bela mein alter O-Line Partner. Du hast recht mit allem was Du hier gesagt hast. Thank you America, thank you NFL for this great opportunity to have a regular NFL game in Germany. We will see you next year.
You guys were fucking awesome! It was electric!!!!!
@bonny665 hehe Bonny :D OL for ever 💪
Wow that's amazing to hear that you play American football in Germany! I have heard that there are many games played and I would love to visit the country that gave the world some of the most beautiful cars ever built!!! Beautiful crowd and wonderful to hear everyone sing! I'm so happy for you to love and PLAY the game I grew up watching in the states! Danke!
The way they just wouldn’t leave the stadium was amazing
In HBCU Football We Call It the 5th Quarter... Love, Peace & Soul with Eats, Drinks and Be Cool. (smile)
And this is AFTER we found out, that they stop selling beer in the 4th qtr! Which was a big shock for us, i can Tell you 😅
Glad you guys enjoyed it, let's make it regular. Greetings from Germany
No
Yes love from the USA I'm glad we get to share our sport with the world 🌎 ❤️. I'm excited also because the World Cup will be in The USA and in my city in 4 years time as well
After this event no once can argue against it. We have 3 races in F1 now so 2-4 can fly to Munich once a year.
Lass uns ein team haben!
As a regular watcher from Germany it is really cool to see Rich so excited!
The world should be excited. It would be cool if you guys had a American football league there as well
I get tears watching all those big NFL figures moved that much. For many it was our first NFL game and we have no standard. We just know it was amazing and Rich,Brady,Godell and so many more confirming that it was indeed a special atmosphere is amazing. Thank you Rich for the kind words, I have never felt so united with other people.
@John Lewis Actually, we do have a Football League in Germany and a European one too. 😀 And other European countries also have Football leagues
@John Lewis no it actually wouldn’t
@DailyShit no it wasn’t anything good
It was the most incredible sporting event I’ve ever been to! We were partying at the Hofbrauhaus with people from Estonia, Russia, Germany, freaking everywhere. I’m from tampa and some of the European fans knew the depth chart better than I did and one showed me all his fantasy team rosters. The game crowd has an amazing energy! So fun!
Glad you had so much fun in my country. 👍 we appreciate your visit. Come back anytime…
German fans are always incredible. They did their country proud. Some of the things you described are like when the NFL is in London but there’s no doubt the German fans took it to another level.
No they didn’t
@The KingThey did actually
@Johann Sebastian Bach no they didn’t
@The King They did!
I’ve been to many of the NFL games in London in recent years, being an expat over here they are generally pretty cheap. And the game in Munich was 10x better than anyone in London
That crowd and fan turnout there looked mind-blowing, like a World Cup happening at a Super Bowl. It's about time the NFL's doing more international games beyond London. What a damned long way we're coming from the covid shutdowns. Glad you had a great time, Rich. I'm jelly as hell. I learned alot more about German culture from this game alone. We need more of this. Danke shon Deutschland!
Bitte schön
Vielen Dank für das dicke Lob👏👍🏼
The crowd was unreal! European fans are amazing!
Europeans show up Americans. They showed ppl still choose love rather than hate.
@getnanoed_xo_football Arent these the same people that kill each other at soccer games? An lots of Americans go to sporting events and act like humans.
@Southern Skeptic the people Europe just have more passion, being a fan of European sports club especially real football,(soccer for the people in the US) is a kind of religion. You live for your club. England is different because with all the outside interfere of big companies buying all the teams of the Premier League, England lost his heart and soul, there's no real fan in sitting a stadium in England, just rich kid's that doesn't care.
Rich, thank you from Germany. This was a pure evidence about the beauty of human interaction. The game connects people, breaks down borders and brings out the good in mankind. Thank you for pointing that out. I had to laugh about "The Ziege" Brady.😅😅😅
Nah it doesn’t they sport won’t work outside the USA
@The King it's already been working outside the USA. Go troll somewhere else with your negativity.
That football game showed the world that ppl still choose love over hate!!!
@The King It works for a long time already. Check your mind. It doesn't seem to be working properly. My mistake, you obviously have no
Wow! Rich’s pure joy and enthusiasm describing all of that was just tremendously uplifting. Restores my faith in humanity. Thank you to all the fans and everybody responsible for making that happen.
Agreed!!
I think Rich Eisen fall in Love with Munich. Awesome 🥰👍🙋♀️
I am from Germany and was so excited to hear, what you thought of the game in germany...I am really proud of our fanbase!!
You guys are freakin awesome! It's gonna be cool to see games there every year. I definitely wanna make the trip from the US One day. Even if i don't get a ticket, i would be happy enough just to be in town and experience the atmosphere.
One of the most incredible games I’ve ever watched. Even through the TV the atmosphere was palpable. The NFL hit a home run with this, and I’m sure Goodell is already telling Trevor Lawrence to get a visa.
And a passport vallid 90 days longer than your trip is. It was an outstanding experience. Have been to a lot of games in the US and London. But this game was one of the best ever.
As a long time NFL fan and big fan of you and your show, I can only say thank you for coming over and giving that wonderful feedback! It truly was a pleasure to have you and all of your colleagues over for that spectacle 🏈🇺🇸🇩🇪😍 We are ready for some more games every year now 😉👍🏽
We have had huge numbers of German fans travel to London for NFL games. Now they have been rewarded with one in Munich and hopefully they get more after that show! Glad the teams enjoyed the experience too.
As a german football fan, I just say thank you to the NFL to make this happend. Crowd was amazing but I did not expect other reaction. It is a goldmine for the NFL.
I am a former Marine who now lives in Germany, and I been trying to push for the NFL to come here forever, everytime I seen an nfl europe or Uk post, I always said something. But I was a small voice in a big pond. People just do not understand the sports culture here until you expereince it live. It literally is always a big party. I mean you think it was a fluke that when the World Cup was here, it was one of the best ones ever? This culture was made for the NFL and sports in general, I am praying they take full advantage of it. BTW that was not Germany showing off, that is normal in Germany at sporting events. Which is why I decided to stay here for good instead of going back stateside. Technically thats life in general, they work hard but when its time to party of celebrate, they go hard or go home. :D PS: Keep in mind that most of NFL Europe Teams were in Germany, so Germany is no stranger to football. I myself use to go to every berlin thunder game. Then they took it away, so a country who loves football had it snatched from them and giving to the UK where football wasnt as celebrated. Yeah even I was a lil pissed....
We love the @NFL here in Germany the crowd the atmosphere was electric ⚡️that was awesome please more games in Germany 🏈❤️🇩🇪🔥🙌
This looked awesome to attend not just as an NFL game but as a cultural event!🎉🎉🎉
The fans that watched the Bucs vs Seahawks game in Germany were electric, you could feel the joy jump from the screen!!!👍😊
As a Long Time german NFL Fan I was so sad that i couldnt made it to the game but happy that our fanbase showed you our love for Football .Hope to see you next year in Frankfurt
It felt like a Super Bowl. Tom was playing and he won it… 🎉
Got to do a Super Bowl in Europe someday 🌍🌍🌍
@Lottoboi100 no they don’t
It really was an absolutely incredible experience. Germany should be proud!
Excellent stuff Germany, we love you all👏🤘😎🇩🇪🇺🇸 ~Seahawks Fans
1) It was such a treat to hear the game called by you and the rest of crew. 2) It is so great to hear you recounting your trip with such excitement and passion.
I am actually so happy for the NFL that this was such an EVENT! I never imagined NFL Football was such a massive sport worldwide.
@Constantine it is really popular in Germany though
It was a great experience to watch here in the US as well! Loved it!
It was an incredible game to watch and it makes me proud of the NFL and Germany! Germany has come such a long way in the last 77 years and is now one of our staunchest allies!
I love Germany so much . Would give anything to live there . They are amazing people amazing fans .
That's good to hear. Greetings from Munich 👍🙋♀️
You are very melcome, Buddy. Greetings from Munich
Thank you very very much 🌼Greetings from Hannover.
Buccs fan from Namibia, Africa. Was great to watch a Buccs match in the afternoon, we normally watch these matches at mid night. We have Game Pass just to watch NFL. We watch Rich, Coach Mangini, Kyle Brandt all theses folks each week. My 10 year old son and I are always in trouble with my wife in Sunday’s and Thursdays because of his sleeping schedule.
Good for you and your son haha he will never forgot those memories!
@Fierce Millionaire Project Thank you
That's fantastic to hear! Is American Football becoming more popular in Namibia too, or are you just an exception? Here in Germany so many of my friends have become fans, it's incredible. I also hope that someday I will be able to visit your country. Of course, Germany has done horrible things to Namibia in the past, but I hope I'll get to learn about the culture. Greetings!
@Cédric Rust There is a rugby culture and very few American Football fans but it is gaining popularity. I know our two countries have a shared history but we are have to allow old wounds to heal and not be prisoners of our past. You have to divorce the past to engage with the present and marry the future.
@Nick Mwanandimayi I see, that's good to know. Well, I hope your son isn't too tired at school after the matches :) What you say is true, however, in the West, there is still a lot of denial of past attrocities, and many are proud of or indifferent to colonial times. I know that our governments agreed that Germany would pay reparations to Namibia, so I hope that money goes towards something good.
I will never forget it, my entire life! Thank you, NFL!
It wasn't just the NFL. It was in cooperation with our Soccer Club FC Bayern. It was awesome 👍👌🙋♀️
I'm very happy that the game was an succsess! I hope this will become a regular thing maybe even two games. Very nice to see you being so positive about your experience in Germany :)
Incredible. It's a shame we can't that sort of turn out at games in the US. We take it for granted.
Nah they need to stop play games in Europe
@The King did you actually watch the video?
The crowds in the NFL are huge
@Big Boss yes I did and it was bad
@The King Well, what can I say... nothing 🥸
I'm glad it was such an awesome week and you had such a terrific experience. Rich definitely is the right guy to soak in such an event and hopefully we get more NFL in Germany next season.
That whole Sunday was great from the Bucs in Germany to the Vikings miracle win against the Bill's and the come from behind win of the Packers. Great day for football!
Cool 👌👍🙋♀️
"Football is Family" - we always hold that up high in Germany. Glad our fans showed the world we mean it just like that! 😎
I went to an international game in London for Buccaneers- Bears in 2011. Everybody was so excited just to see football. You see fans of every team in the NFL no matter who is playing. I saw somebody wearing a Dante Culpepper Miami Dolphins jersey. I had forgotten he even played there. Not quite the atmosphere they had in Munich but still really cool. I wish I could have been there for this one.
Great to hear you're still in awe!!! Hopefully see you in Frankfurt next year! Wait for the party to unfold, it's going to be a wild one for sure. Frankfurt does have a football history to show for (Frankfurt Galaxy, WLAF, NFLE).
Thanks for that perspective Rich. That was a peek into something that the average American television fan would never have known; it brought a tear to my eye. I was always so fascinated with the splendor of the Marienplatz and to imagine the tribute to American culture against such a truly global backdrop is just breathtaking. I am so glad that you shared.
Love your show, Rich. Glad to hear you liked your stay in Germany. Also like that you've been one of the big Tua supporters all the way even though you're a Jets fan ;) greetings from a German Dolfan. Football is family 🏈
Salute to all German fans and to the country of Germany👏👏👏💞🇵🇭
🇩🇪 🤔
I was there and it was by far the best nfl experience I have ever had. Electric is the only way I can describe it.
I lived in Germany for like 6 years. I remember even as a kid that they partied. They come out to all types of events no matter the sporting event.
I like this interview. It reflects the game and what goes with it, the fans. The fact that Tom Brady and his team won in Munich was perhaps also a spirit of soccer club FC Bayern Munich, which has had a connection to the NFL since 2014 and the Allianz Arena is its home. Anyway, congratulations for winning the game. We look forward to continued good cooperation with all the teams in the NFL. I wish Tom Brady many more good games and, above all, good health. Unfortunately, he is no longer the youngest and the sport is tough. See you again in Munich, the city with ❤️ 👍🙋♀️
Greetings from Munich. So nice to hear you guys had a blast, too. We hope you will be back soon! This whole thing was AWESOME!
I live in New England not far from the home of the New England Patriots and was blown away by the experience of watching that game. There should be at least 2 games in Germany per season, no doubt.
We are grateful for the sensational game of both teams. Every Team that plays with us in the future will get the same affection and hospitality. Thanks Greetings from Munich to you and the New England Patriots 👌👍🙋♀️
Well looks like your Pats are playing the Colts in Germany this year 👀
I am glad that you had a great time, Rich! I lived in Germany for 3 years from 2004 to 2007. It was a blast. Munich is a fun town! If you stayed a couple more weeks you could go to the Christmas Markts. Those are good. Maybe the next NFL in Munich could be during Oktoberfest.
Not a good idea. Hotels are packed. It`s mutch better that way.
@Zu Nittig good point
I should also mention that you should take a drive or a train ride through the Bavarian countryside. It is like something out of Games of Thrones or a fairy tale.
Seems like we've been underrated a very long time here in germany - good to see that it was a blast for you all :D Our singing culture in stadiums is very huge so of course we know songs like "Country Roads" or "don't stop believing". That songs are classics for us too.
This looked awesome to attend not just as an NFL game but as a cultural event!
Sounds like you genuinely enjoyed your stay in my hometown Munich, Germany. Really heartwarming to listen to. You're welcome back any time.
This is great man, I really would love to go to a game there. Thanks for sharing the experience with us, very happy for you
The German fans were always the best in the NFL Euro league's. From an old English fan who used to go to NFL preseason games at Wembley.
It is so glad to hear, that you had a good time in our country and in Munich. For all german NFL Fans was this Game hopefully the Start for something even bigger. We all had goosebumps … and yes, singing with 70.000 people we know from our Soccer Games and the time from the NFL Europe back in the 90‘s. 😉 Watch the Games from Frankfurt Galaxy back in the time. Next year we welcome you and all the Football Lovers from around the World to Frankfurt.
I can kind of relate this to going to the draft in 2018 in Dallas. Everyone walking around in their team jerseys, everyone happy. Fun banter between rivals. Seeing the networks covering it. A bucket list day for me.
I enjoyed listening to you calling the game rich, it was fantastic!
I loved you calling that game, Rich! The environment felt amazing. Was unfortunate the Seahawks didn't play that well in front of a big croud of 12's over there. I love waching your show. Cheers from Brazil!
And now imagine a Super Bowl in Germany 😍🏈
Rich you killed it calling that game! Hope to hear you more in the future.
Love Rich addressing how charmed of a life he leads. Another reason why I enjoy visiting with him. 👍😃
I'm glad it turned out to be an exciting game. It was fun to watch
Rich you did a great job this weekend. Wish you would announce for more games!
Rich did a GREAT job calling the game. A natural!
Looked like everyone was having great time and the singing and not wanting to leave at the end was brilliant. Been to Munich often it’s a lovely place. The Christmas market is huge and magical. I noticed the hot gluhwien hit the spot.
Hi, our Christmas Market is open 😍🙋♀️
Now Rich and Crew, any chance within the next decade a SUPERBOWL can be played there? Both teams have a bye week to prepare, and I imagine people would not be upset at a start time at 1 or 2 PM. Add in all the European fanfare and chemistry and it could be a hit
Great to see the game growing worldwide
I didn’t know Rich was calling the game. As soon as I started watching, I was like yeah! I love Rich Eisen! And he did a fantastic job. That was a nice treat.
I love your enthusiasm for the event and for the town - it's worth it! November isn't exactly the time to visit a Biergarten - which is a "garden" under big trees (traditionally, to keep the beer cellars cool in Summer) where you sit down for a mug of beer and some snack. You were at Viktualienmarkt, a famous, entertaining and working market place in Munich - good to enjoy your time there! In the stadium, visitors know how to sing unisono because they practice it each Saturday when Fußball (soccer) fans chant in support of their teams.
As a Bucs fan, I was happy to see creative plays. They did push it a little too far by putting Brady out as a receiver twice in that game, but it's better than the stale, unimaginative play calling from the 90s we've been seeing. They looked like they were having fun out there too, which they needed.
Rich Eisen has been one of my favorite dudes since the first day of NFL Network.
So great to see his Reaction!!! Best man!! Go Germany😉
i am a munich citizen and more into soccer. but i am proud we were good hosts for such a huge event in our little nice city. i saw the game and could feel the atmosphere was special even for americans that are used to big shows and spectacular events. our singing may have been a different kind of approach to such an event, but we germans tend to let a party roll no matter if it fits the reason. sorry for that but noone got hurt i guess 😊
Congratulations Rich! You did a great job! I was watching the game and heard your comment about John Denver! The Crowd was awesome! Nuff Said!
I (49m) was there too with my mom (72f), this was her 70 year birthday present (delayed by corvid). To see Tom Brady in real life and to experience a NFL game. What a trip.
Great Birthday present wow 🥰👍🙋♀️
That is how opposing soccer games are. Go for Oktoberfest sometime. You’ll have 10.000 happy folks singing for 3 hours straight in unison. Truly magical.
The Game for itself was not the best but that atmosphere in the stadium was really awesome; also very cool the scene when the 2 guys from NFL Network in Lederhosen were at our Hofbräuhaus; 🤣 really nice, that the whole crew enjoyed it so much; Bavarian and Americans are definitely a good fit; hope we have another game in Munich; I really hope for Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs
We Germans dont need a team, but like 3 or 4 games a year is absolutely makeable. Germany has by far the strongest passion for football in Europe.👍🏈🇩🇪
Rich....you did a great job calling the game. Can't believe that was your first one. Pro!
I don’t think it’ll be long until every team is playing a game a season internationally. I also don’t think there should be a franchise full time in another country, (and I’m from the UK!), but the NFL must be so aware now of the potential this has
That will never happen they tried to have a nfl league outside the USA and it failed the nfl won’t work outside the USA which is a good thing
I want there to be a couple international teams. Right now, almost all the talent in the NFL comes from America, so just think about how many more pat mahomes, Josh Allens, and other incredibly entertaining players we would get to watch if teams started pulling from an international pool of players.
be great to have 2 ,3 or 4 teams outside the USA they say the world super bowl it then would be !!
Buccaneers were so lucky to play in that game. It was awesome 😎. Too cool.
That was one of the coolest games to watch. So glad Tampa won so I could enjoy it fully lol
It looked like a unbelievably fun atmosphere.
We come together from every corner of the world for the simplest thing and that's for the LOVE OF THE GAME. I wish i can catch one of these games during my life time. One place were we are so different but so united for this amazing game.
🏈👌🙋♀️👍
Someone take this man to a Bayern v Dortmund game! He’d love it
it was a celebration of the sport more than a contest of two footballing cities. that made it special. also, fun fact: seahawks have the biggest german fanbase out of all 32 teams.
The european NFL fanbase is just outstanding. I hope everybody in the US can see how great football 🏈 is for us. Amazing, lets go BUCS!!!!
That's awesome Brady got the win here. Deserves it :)
That’s why so many franchises were so eager to be officially connected to Germany, to have Germany as their home area
Not to forget: They could have sold about 3,000,000 tickets for that game! Unfortunately the stadium has 'only' approx. 70,000 seats. Greetings from a World League Frankfurt Galaxy fan of the 1990s !!
Rich can call a game better than Joe Buck 😂
It’s a different level, really. Rich isn’t paid enough.
I didnt enjoy rich during the game
Rich Eisen will not forget his visit to Munich and the game. He fell in love with Munich 😄 It was a great game. I will never forget that. Greetings from Munich 🏈👍🙋♀️
We used to party like this in the 90's to the early 2000's back when we had the NFL Europe. I loved it. Best teenage memories!!!! We were at every home game in Frankfurt, for the Galaxy!!! It was not just the game, but everything around it. Can't wait for Frankfurt next year!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm from Germany and now I'm thinking all the time about the best way to do it: A German NFL team. I think in principle it would be a huge success in Germany, but from the players' point of view: the travel and jet lag would be terrible. You would have to arrange the schedule so that the German team flies to the US, then plays several games there and then comes back to Germany and has several home games again. I, for one, would buy a season ticket because it would be a lot of fun.
Rich this year you can come to Germany twice. Frankfurt and Munich again. The following information is available. In the coming season there will be two games in German This was announced by the football league lastThursday. The first two teams that will play in Germany have already been determined, these are the Kansas City Chiefs and the New England Patriots. We are all really looking forward to it ❤️👍💯🙋♀️
This was a rare event for all those who were there or watched! Beautiful surprise.
So happy the americans also had a great time here in germany :) it was an awesome weekend.
would never happen but imagine a super bowl in Europe and a champions league final in the USA i think it would be cool af and a good trade off
As someone who is friends of multiple Germans who follow football, most started following in the mid 2010’s and are fans of teams who won (or at least played) in the Super Bowls during that period as that’s how they got into it, which is why it would make sense they’re more Seahawks fans as they saw them first during the Legion of Book days
Thank you Rich for saying 'Their version of football' 👍🏼
🏈Go Bucs..❗ That was a Fun game.
Oh yes it was 😍very gladly. That was a game that will not be forgotten. 👌👍🙋♀️
