    • Damn I never knew how to open those EYEball chest until i saw 13:30 this XD ~

    • @Asja Osaline yea ~ i'm starting to feel bored fr all these reasons. Broom is disappointing as fk.. its semi open world game & i had this weird thing where enemies popped up only when decided to land in almost any area. Main character simping is over-dozed even if u choose to say along the lines of "i hate you Fk off from my face" they'll still give u reward lol ~ if u did tht in witcher or Read Dead ur fked lol.. i'm only playing coz difficulty in gameplay on Hard mode is very engaging. only thing is i expected this game to b mediocre at its best so to me i had 0 hype to begin with i knew its gonna be teen drama game XD ~

    • Its alright game for thouse who like this kind of games, but problem is how this game was promoted and hyped so it game tottally different expectation for people. I expected this to be free roam game, with decent economy, logic and even grind to become expert magician, but instead it is Story focused game where things are unlocked as you procress story and are only useful for Story. You make potions to use them in combat, not use them to become rich. You aqire broom basicly on its apperance, couse they all have some power and have no resonable interactions between students you go them to fill some quest and to procress level you just fill out archivments, like finding locations. And you actions have no effect on world or other characters. You were forced to kill a troll and not see how it destroys village and its people. NPCs cant die they lives are static. I expected more similaritys for Skyrim. But if you like theme, you can dind some enjoyment in game. but for me its boring to do forced things. Even time and seasons dont have ny effect more thanvisual change.

    • ok

    • Are you playing on pc or console? I haven't gotten the ftb when doing non cutscene stuff. I'm wondering if this is a pc issue because the PC port was based on the ps4 version of the game.

  • The opening sequence on the way to Hogwarts sealed the deal for me.

    • @Snake Jazz Yep, as soon as they became visible I went "well, that dude died!" Super clever way to have an impactful death without making it too graphic or heavy, especially when that early in a game something like that could have affected the ESRP rating or set a depressing tone for the game. Using pre-existing lore like that the way they did gave me every confidence that the universe was in good hands with the writers, and I wasn't disappointed.

    • @Greg Steelesame I was like woah did he really die or did he apperate. And than the thestrals appeared…oh he dead

    • Cringe

    • Same! That got me so hype! Lol I'm all in.

    • Descent for me I’m an elder scrolls fan.. seen the dragon and was hooked 😂

  • I started this game up and I was blown away from the beginning, but the real “okay, this game is IT” moment was when I was running down a hallway and swung a door open, two “knights in shining armour” were goofing around on their stands in the corner, and when they saw me, they panicked and stood upright and acted as inanimate objects like they weren’t just animate.. That was basically it for me 😂 I love this game.

    • @x I was trying to stress that it’s the little details in this game that has had me playing for 25 hours so far

    • @x its was a build up of things , such as a complex castle vibe that hogwarts is always described as but has never truly realized, the world outside the castle which feels large and expansive, and an interesting combat system (at least on the hardest difficulty, haven't tried the easier difficulty options) that encourages different spell casting But yes you are correct the Knights beating on each other is what sold me on the game., as that showed the developers wanted to make the place feel magical and they delivered on that promise

    • Seeing those same two knights having an absolutely war in the middle of the corridor had me ROTFLMAO

    • Is that all it takes. That. Which happens all throughout the castle throughout the game. Wow

    • @TakeARideWithMe bro them mement the other dude got fed up with the other one I was like " yep this game is awesome "

  • Greatest little “side” thing I’ve seen so far…I was running through the castle and saw 2 suits of armor. One turned to the other and just kicked its ass until it was laying in pieces on the ground. I just stared at it and laughed

    • I laughed so hard when I saw that too. It was so hilarious 😂

    • @Jayson Lee sounds like i am not far enough then since I am only in chapter one which is aparently b4 autumn.

    • @FuryousD I think it only happens at night. I don’t think it will occur in winter. I’m assuming it won’t happen till spring or back to October which is when it happened for me.

    • @Adrian Walker i saw him pop out the water after completing the house exclusive quest for Slytherin, i was stood on the rock that is right by where he pops up, he gave me a bit of a slight jump scare XD.

    • Lmaooo I saw that too and was laughing

  • I need a Avatar the Last Airbender game like this. I’ve never seen a Harry Potter film but I’m glad that a fanbase is getting something that authentically captures why they love the IP. I’m definitely buying this once I watch the saga.

    • YES

    • @Dj_M1 omce you get into politics its impossible not to see underlying messaging in games. Youll get to that point at some point when you wanna learn whats going on in the world and why things are the way they are in certain countries.

    • @Dj_M1 lotr has great games just not this kind of explorative rpg

    • Yes and also Percy Jackson where you make a Demigod

    • Bro that's what I said too!!! If they did it right it could be similar to this game in the sence of managing "spells" with slots for each or just make them interchangeable. It would be a dream come true because there's so much potential set in the avatar universe that the possibilities for story arks, exploration, and gameplay is huge. I really hope they consider this, if the netflix remake is good hopefully it will gather the attention of developers. Until then I unfortunately don't see it happening:/

  • I am one of those unfortunate nerds that lived and breathed the books and movies while growing up, and the game is honestly everything I've ever wanted as a fan. Which after so many years of modern remakes and adaptations actively ruining things I love, has me a bit emotional lmao. I just want expansions for year 6 and 7 so badly. And yeah, there are so many silly and amazing Easter eggs too. Like there's a dumb side quest called "follow the butterflies" and they lead you into the Forbidden Forest. And I was instantly transported back to Chamber of Secrets and Ron Weasley going "follow the Spiders- Follow the Spiders!!! Why couldn't it be Follow the Butterflies!? If Hagrid ever gets outta Azkaban, I'll kill him." 😂

  • Best way I can explain it. Is that this is the Harry Potter game I have always dreamed of. And so, so much more. The little details add up, and the combat is so much more fun and challenging then I thought it would be.

    • @Skai Yeah the combat feels great! Really satisfying! It is addictive. The combat never feel repetitive because it is a really complex tactical system. Don't hesitate, just go for it! Thank me later. :)

    • @Skai i have 40 hours and the combat still feels new

    • @Richard Bexborn Does the combat feel punchy enough? I'm on the fence cause while I love the look of the game, I feel like after a while the combat could start to feel repetitive.

    • @Dylan Stephenson Yeah exactly. It's all on you. You can't blame the game, the combat is so great you can only blame yourself.

    • @Richard Bexborn I stumbled on a battle arena in the South Highlands and I still can't beat it haha. But I'm not upset about it because the combat is so crazy deep.

  • One of the things I really appreciate in the game is how they give narrative reasons for things like why you can't play quidditch or why the character can see thestrals. They could have just left it out as a no brainer but they actually included it

    • @Pixie1001 Oh for sure. It's why I typically stay one step behind cutting edge. Currently I'm running a 3070 with an i7 12700. I won't upgrade to a 40 series or an i9 until the next iteration comes out. By then, the price has come down but more importantly, they've worked through most of the major issues. Nvidia typically doesn't release it's updated driver for a popular upcoming game until a day or so before it's launch, so reviewers are dealing with an outdated graphics driver as well. As far as the variations in hardware, that's 100% true. I recall a Digital Foundry video from a few years back that covered a crazy issue in a game that ONLY happened if the person playing it had one specific graphics card AND had a certain setting set just so. That only came to something like 1,000 total people, but it would cause the game to cease to function at the exact same point in the game every time. Things like that are almost impossible to do QA for.

    • @The Rotten💯 I suspect it's an issue of newer, more experimental hardware honestly. Sure a good PC can brute force a lot of issues, but if the game isn't optermised for your hardware, you're still gonna have a bunch of weird bugs and performance hitches that the developers didn't have the time or experience (but that hardware's barely been on the market, let alone ha stuff developed for it) to test for. But there's also just a lot more to test on PC, and kinds of odd settings or hardware configurations can trip up your machine.

    • @Pixie1001 PC can be frustrating because results can very wildly. I had huge issues with Elden Ring when it came out (more than most people), but with Hogwarts Legacy I had zero performance drops, stutters, lags, etc. Only thing I came across was 4 or 5 bugs, all minor except one that trapped me in some terrain and I had to reload the game from my last save. What's wild is I keep hearing all my favorite reviewers commenting on how a lot of PC ports the last 12 months have had problems, but besides Elden Ring for the first 2ish weeks after launch, this has been one of the smoother years performance and bug wise for me. Granted I have a nice gaming rig, but these same reviewers obviously have at least as good of equipment. I have to wonder if it's because a majority of the games they play are pre-release, so they're essentially playing the worst version of each game when it comes to performance.

    • @Pixie1001 Honestly the pc version is a port with minimal effort and testing they literally just didnt make the game for the pc and had to do it last minute thats simply whats wrong, also its a huge performance hog yet smooth as butter with raytracing on the xbox which is nice. They have poor level XP gain as you can beat everything in the entire game all side quests and side missions and main story and be 10 levels short of the great hall endgame final event which sucks basically have to grind out the rest of the xp doing repetitive dark arts battle arena and burning through potions

    • @PilsPlease Yeah, it sounds like it's a bit of a gamble for PC users? I literally haven't had any issues or frame drops that I've noticed with it locked to 60 fps, but I've read the issue might be that it just wasn't tested on enough setups. But it's hard to stress test until you read Hogsmead, which is likely after the 2 hours refund period has ended. PC does however let you adjust the FOV, which I thing they had to put uncomfortably close on console to get it to work with such a pea sized CPU.

  • The amount of love and passion put into this game is evident. The rich atrention to detail, the seemingly unending puzzles or secrets you come across, the great characters, a world that feels alive and lived in, a game that doesn’t hold your hand and has you figure out a lot yourself especially when it comes to puzzles or secrets. And it looks visually stunning. This is a great open world and it does a lot right. I was skeptical as the dev had never made a triple A game before, and they seem to have nailed it. I’m 6 to 8 hours in, feel like I have barely scratched the surface and am still encountering tutorial stuff, and I can’t get enough of the world. They actually pulled it off and the game has actually exceeded all expectations.

    • @Rod hmm i wonder why she chose that imagery. They are portrayed as having as much emotion as humans. They arent some evil goblin race lol. She also never explores how the wizards condescendingly refer to muggles. Could have been a good message for todays society, but nope wizard good muggle bad

    • @benny reda there not rebels. Slaves rebelling. In what context is a slave rebellion EVER a bad thing morally

    • @benny reda true but its a literal slave species that "enjoys" it. Theres the suble stuff too like the wizards looking down on the muggles and its never addressed because jk rowling lol. Could have been such an interesting arc getting wizards to be less condiscending towards and making the game have a real message for our society today. How we need to be more accepting of others from other backgrounds or smth. But nope had to keep it shallow

    • This comment might just make me buy the game lol

    • @BakedStreet YT I just mean when you’re out in the world and find certain puzzles or secrets. Like the arithmetic puzzles around Hogwarts, the Merlin Trials, the random statues you can Levioso to get loot, and so on. At no point does your character say ‘maybe I should try jumping from platform to platform without falling’ when doing that particular variation of the trials as an example. That shit was not obvious, and it’s like that in many areas, where other games would tell you right away. But sure, learning core mechanics and spells and what not, the game kind of has to tell you how to use them.

  • Agreed, this game is something special and I wasn't expecting it at all. The attention to detail is insane

    • @randomusername yea it's really impressive. I was joking with my brother and was saying just the amount of exploration and hidden secrets in Hogwarts alone could have been the game..

    • detail of this game surpasses most AAA games in the past 10-15y and it's going to be understated becuase half the stuff in the game wont even be discovered for like years from now lol. JUST exploring the castle is enough entertainment (admittedly pulling on nostalgia AF) to justify getting deluxe. I've learned 2 spells from classes and I feel like my money's already well spent if i died tomorrow and could never finish it.

  • So pleased one of these big 2023 releases has lived up to the hype. Big congrats to Avalanche Soft and Portkey for their efforts 🙏

    • @Husix 狮 i think your tv or eyes must be broken Hogwarts legacy has one of the best looking worlds ever in a game.first time I flew around Hogwarts i was floored

    • @Veera truthfully, i am not sure what anyone is on about when they say the game looks bad or old or graphics are not good. I've been playing it and they look great.

    • @Husix 狮 the game looks amazing, been playing it for 2 days now. No, those games do not look leagues better than hogwarts legacy. This game is not a downgrade, let gamers play what they want to play lmao.

    • @Peepbrother2813 hence you arguing against yourself. You’re not too bright huh?

  • I’ve been playing this since midnight on the early access release… it’s already one of my favourite titles EVER. I am absolutely in love and blown away. I feel so immersed

  • The fade to black is generally to hide them "popping" you into the right place without doing it naturally when it comes to interactables. Other games do it relatively often, depending on how intense the interaction is.

    • Nothing like the good ol’ Skyrim Slide

    • Yup. That and as a way to load things. Whether it's animations, sounds, loading up the cinematic, or loading higher quality textures/models for specific people/things once you get close etc. even if it only takes a split second that can still result in frame drops or even the game freezing for a second while it loads so to hide all that they cover the screen for a second.

    • @That Croew Guy I only used RDR2 as a reference, there are a lot of games that has smooth transition from gameplay to scenes. But we all have our own opinion, and again, the game is great nonetheless.

    • @BACONAOA It definitely takes more effort, but I'd rather have that effort put elsewhere personally. Now comparing it to RDR2 is bad because that's one of the games I consider closest to 'perfect', but for a more 'normal' game I'd rather have that effort in say gameplay or combat rather than something small like that.

    • @BACONAOA oh definitely, but it takes more effort to pull off yeah

  • I really like this game so far. So much to explore. It may seem like an unimportant detail but it would be kinda cool to chill in a chair or sofa from time to time. You know, lounging in common rooms by the fire or sitting down within the library. It would be a fitting addition to the cozy atmosphere this lore provides. It's normal stuff within open world games nowadays and can't be that difficult to add. It's also kind of weird that you can place your own furniture within the room of requirements and can't sit on it afterwards. :D

    • I definitely agree! Especially because we can eat apples, drink tea and such. would be so cute to sit with others

  • It’s way better than I expected, I was worried we’d get the typical “looks great” until it comes out, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised, I’m loving it

  • It really is astounding how much they passed the bar. Genuinely one of the first games I’ve played in a while where I can’t wait to get back into it.

  • I’m buying this game thanks to you, out of all the reviewers I trusted you most because you were skeptical. When you said about it not having the Ubisoft affect, that really put me at ease

    • @Axel Johnson Okay, then who'd you say is not a paid shill reviewer?

    • The Ubisoft Syndrome is a big turn off for me in most games. I'm happy about this revelation too.

  • I love the fact that this can now act as a base line they can build off and make many other stories in this world now that the world has been built ☺️

  • The entire first 40 minutes was immaculate. I was under the impression we would start either at diagon alley or already be in Hogwarts and get sorted RIGHT after the character customization. Having this new yet familiar story (as well as some dark stuff that I wasn’t expecting) makes this one of my all time favorite game intros.. probably up there with the introduction to rapture in the very first bioshock. I knew this would be good but not THIS good. Early GOTY contender for sure

  • I love the detail and the professors' unique characters. The dialogue and story can be a bit clunky, but the exploration is top notch. The first game in a long while I have actual relaxing fun with.

  • It’s fantastic… I’m already on my way to hogsmede to get my supplies after completing the first 2 quests. Perfect opening, Hogwarts is beautiful the classrooms the hallways the attention to detail. So stunning. It’s so good.

  • I'm just gonna say it. I was not expecting an immersive sim out of this experience. Colour me impressed.

    • @Black-Reaper I think it’s because it encourages player creativity and their use of options. You can tackle any objective in any way. The addition of quicksaving and loading makes this even more possible

    • @Ahbib Haald Thank you for saying this, It would be amazing if this game did have immersive sim elements though. But you can’t even go out of bounds during a mission without getting a red screen and restart.

    • @Black-Reaper dunno had this debate with my friend I think it’s hilarious messing with him by calling games immersive sims

    • @Sexy Jon yes, but immersive open world games, how on earth is dishonored an immersive sim?

    • @Black-Reaper those are sandbox games

  • your take on this game was the one i was most interested to see, and i'm so happy that it's impressed you. i've only played a few hours so far but i feel like a little kid again reading the books for the first time. what a gift this game has turned out to be.

  • Yeah,it's the perfect start for a year with 3 great games (dead space remake, hifi rush, hogwarts legacy) and forspoken to make sure we don't get our hopes high!!!As i said perfect starting for the year!

    • @gmorgcyborg forspoken never had this potential... the only thing that hyped that game was the running and tbh that shit wasnt even cool.. trash game, trash performance, trash scripts, trash protagonist, etc

    • @WobblyWack They wont give up a obsolete and technically trash game engine that is limiting what they can do by being obsolete and outdated and not being able to handle what they want it to handle. They need to just give up go to like unreal engine 5 which is easy as cake to learn how to use and they would have a far better time.

    • @gmorgcyborg Nah man. Forspoken had more issues than just the performance. The level design and the quests for that game feels like ubisoft style of games tbh

    • @WobblyWack Fallout 76 and Skyrim are mediocre. Fallout 3 and Oblivion are decent. Question is will Bethesda continue with creating an empty world with complete player freedom or do what they used to do, which is introduce the player to the world and then let the player explore and enjoy. That will be what determines whether Starfield is good.

    • @WobblyWack I share your doubts. Bethesda have yet to prove they can make games that aren't janky, as much as I enjoyed Skyrim.

  • I think the fade to black is not a big problem because it happens quickly, the problem with Forspoken was that during those fades to black the screen would stay dark for 1 to 2 seconds, it is too long and very frequent. While in Hogwarts Legacy it's as fast as the blink of an eye. It doesn't bother me here at all, actually,y a hadn't noticed it until you said it.

    • Facts and most of the times its just for dialogue which makes sense given the camera angle

    • It's fine to use fading transitions, but it just shows that the devs couldn't make a smooth animation. Whatever their reason, the game still looks solid overall, I'm excited to try it.

    • @Chris Perry yeah but we're strictly speaking about transitions and animations.

    • @BACONAOA arguably, phasing your hand through a cat while it walks through your legs is also immersion-breaking. Can’t have your cake and eat it, too.

    • @Chris Perry smoother transitions and animations are more immersive, you don't just blink in real life and all of a sudden you're in the place where you want to be (unless you're drunk).

  • I love the little attention to details this game has (Red Dead 2 spoiled me a lot on trying to catch every single insignificant detail as possible). Really makes the whole open world feel more lively.

  • So far I am impressed. Hogwarts Castle is absolutley HUGE and exploring it makes my head spin but the attention to detail is astonishing. Loving the atmosphere and gameplay along with the music of course!

  • Really looking forward to what this studio does next. If they make a sequel and improve on some of the criticisms, it could be amazing.

  • Hogwarts legacy is much more than i ever wouldve imagined the level of detail everywhere is very impressive, I'm absolutely loving it on PC. Havent had any bugs or performance issues its amazing. Thanks for your Impressions even tho i preordered its still nice to hear your impressions. Have fun u all in Hogwarts Legacy a true adventure.

  • I’m like 2 hours in and I’m loving it so far. My tiny critiques are just the animations and voice acting is slightly “eerie”, leaning towards uncanny valley but not terrible. Story wise, I think they missed out on having us start as a first year and playing through it fresh with the other first years, but they can always do that in another game and it’s definitely not bad the way they did it

    • It's clear they didn't use much performance capture if any at all, hopefully with their success their next game will have fully captured faces, at least for the main character and other bigger roles

    • They definitely took a risk making it a 5th year experience, but with what we have come to expect (or lack thereof) since the Witcher, I’m just STOKED to have a game like this released at all tbh. It’s been all Apex, warzone, Fortnite and NBA 2K for so long that I’m simply jazzed that I can go be a mystery hunting hog warts student for the first time since 2004!

    • The problem with starting as a first year is that it would make 0 sense to have a 10 year old kid running around dueling and fighting dangerous animals, poachers and dark wizards. Heck, if you go back and watch the first movie again, Harry and Ron casted maybe 2 spells in the whole thing, only Hermione was casting a bit more often, and even then, most of it was utilitarian stuff, not combat spells. They mostly got by on wits and luck alone, not their spells. Even movie two isn't all that different, it isn't until the third year that they start actually using magic more often and incorporating it into fighting. So, for a game like this to start you off as a first year, it would have to move through the years, which in itself would be a massive undertaking in terms of narrative, pacing and the open world, since having people go through a few boring hours of years 1 or 2, with a very limited selection of spells and exploration, could just kill any fun, but then again, if you make them go by super quickly, then you might as well just skip them altogether. Also, programing the growth of your character, along with the changing FoV and hit-boxes as the years pass and the child becomes a teen and then an adult, would also probably be rather hard to pull off right. So yeah, it might be super cool in theory to have a game where we can have the full Howarts fantasy from year 1 to 7, but in practice, it sounds like a nightmare to do right. Maybe one day.

    • I don’t think uncanny valley is the right word. That means it looks so good that it triggers something in our brains. While this isn’t animated very well and just doesn’t look good

    • I felt the same way about the voice acting. Just slightly off but everything else I enjoy so far

  • I love how downright inspired this game feels, with the emphasis on exploration in a detailed environment, the grandness of the world and the mechanics that you can use to interact with the world. I was fairly sceptical ever since the release of the first trailer but this seems like something I would play regardless of its affiliation to the Harry Potter Series.

  • I never cared about harry potter, but as a gamer i love that this world was fully realized for the fans and i look forward to playing it myself soon.

  • For me it totally delivered! I've been playing for like 8 hours now and it's easily one of my favorite games of all time. Well worth the money. I grew up with the HP books/movies and this did not dissapoint.

  • Love Love Love this game. A couple issues are that you don't have that same exciting competition between houses that you saw in HP and I feel like we're missing those deep partnerships/friendships HP had. But then again, I'm only ~7 hours in so that could definitely change. Runs amazingly on PS5 with some annoyances with pop-ins and 3-second loading when exiting the castle.

  • 40h in. it is magnificent. going to start a second save soon. this is the game i have been waiting for since i was 5yo. and it met at least 90% of my expectations. it is the game of the year

  • ‘Because I simply want to play it now’ That line killed me 😂😂😂 Cannot wait to play this

  • There is nothing wrong with being skeptical of a new game. Most often we are let down by games and it’s good to have some skepticism

  • Jacob absolutely killed it with that instant replay.

  • I've only played for a couple of hours on the PC and things are looking really good, I'm really into the story already and the atmosphere is great. It feels like Hogwarts and the art direction is 10/10 for me.

  • The fade to black is a HUGE time/money saver for transitions. If you go for something as simple as petting a cat, you can approach the cat from any angle and at any moment of the cat animation loop. You'd need to blend and move both characters into alignment to play the petting animation. That's it's doable but it's tricky and expensive.

  • DOWNLOADED IT LAST NIGHT AND PAST OUT AS I WAS CHOOSING MY HOUSE. WOKE UP AND PUT 7 HOURS IN AND I JUST LEFT HOGWARTS FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS AWESOME.

  • I got to play this game for around 3 hours this morning before work and I have to say, it is SO nice to have a game come out that plays this smoothly and is this fun at the same time on day one. Not even Elden Ring was this smooth for me the first day. Its all just so refreshing.

    • @Juan Corzo What do you mean? I didn't compare Elden Ring to you mom.

    • Im an elden ring fan, HG seems like a game to play after the sweat of fromsoftware games. Kinda reminds me of Fable, looks awsome

    • Don't compare elden ring to this "thing" please.

  • As fun as so many rpg/open world games are (RDR2, Skyrim, AC, BOTW, Witcher 3), this is the first time in awhile I feel genuinely excited to experience an open world. All those games I mentioned are amazing and are some of my favorite games of all time but Hogwarts Legacy offers lore that I love and have loved for so many years. I really hope this game does well and incentivizes studios to adapt other book series and universes into video games. I'm largely thinking of Brandon Sanderson's fantasy universe the Cosmere which has many series (Stormlight, Mistborn) and it would be awesome to see a game adapted from a universe like that. Experiencing new worlds is fun but seeing a world that you already know and love and getting to walk around in it takes the cake for me.

    • @The Sniping Spider I did the same

    • @D V fair point. I just did. I feel like killing him is better. Cause the shogun would accuse Shimura of having no honor. His clan was already dismantled so he had nothing left. Honor left him nothing and the Ghost got nothing too. Sad shitn

    • @The Sniping Spider The ending was near perfection. I also chopped down his guilt lol. You should maybe put a spoiler warning for randoms lol

    • @D V spoiler warning it was the only game I have played for a solid month now and probs longer! I didn’t think the ending would hit as hard as it did but boy I was wrong! I saved the IKI Island after I beat the game so I got shit to do! I chose to kill my uncle because it’s what everyone would want and even tho they both don’t want to kill each other. Shimura wouldn’t hesitate to kill him so neither did I

    • @The Sniping Spider Chef's kiss!!!

  • Jacob is having loads of fun with the editing. That KO bit had me in stitches.

  • Having an absolute blast so far. Amazing dedication by Avalanche studios. This is a masterpiece.

  • The developers nailed it absolutely to implement the Ubisoft formula into a game, much better than Ubisoft ever did😂. I haven't been very deep into the "Potterverse" ever,I watched the first three movies and read the first two books, but this game is absolute fun to play and I'm literally laughing my ass off while I'm discovering crazy and funny things back to back to back😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  • One that gave me chills is the sound effects. When I cast “Lumus” and the sound came out of the controller, I gave my whole to this game. It’s one of the games where you have this rare connection with. It’s like the same reaction from the “Ratatouille” taste scene! That’s how powerful this game influenced me.

  • Those landscape shots with Hogwarts shining in the background. My gosh, those visuals are amazing

  • "I simply want to play it NOW" There never was a better reason tbh.

  • I am so impressed. The character creation is awesome (only critique is if they had more voice options. I'm Latino and the voice sounds so white/English) Other than that, OMG! This game is amazing, I'm also playing with all setting on Ultra with ray tracing off, and I have to say the graphics are breathtakingly beautiful. I'm finding myself constantly stopping to admire the view like I do in the Witcher 3. I was worried cause this is the first time I've ever paid full price for a game. I usually wait for a sale, but I am so glad I did. Dios mío! This is going to be fun. Wish you all the best fellow witches and wizards.

  • The immersion is insane, the dialogue changes depending on what you do in game. I captured a certain magical beast just off my own back exploring (not part of a quest) and NPCs I spoke to knew about it ahah

  • Jacob's edit for when you pet the cat was the highlight of my morning 🤣

  • I’m really happy your channel is growing! You deserve it so much! Love your video’s and the vibe you give it ❤

  • The moment I saw a night slap his partner and then straiten back up I was intrigued. Then I saw the opening scenes and I was sold. Well done.

  • This game is absolutely amazing so proud of Avalanche for delivering this making it a instant success for all of us harry potter fans, the atmosphere, gameplay, exploration everything is all I wished for.... enjoy everyone! 😃

  • i like how in the opening part you dont see the thestrals but later on immediately after someone dies then you can see them. They really put in so much detail

  • I was highly skeptical myself, glad to see game is actually nice can't wait to play it, overall looks great.

  • OMG I was gonna wait for more reviews and Steam Deck performance info but with how (rightfully so) skeptical you've been this positive view of the early game is VERY encouraging. I might just pay the extra ten damn dollars to start playing it today!

  • Gonna pick this up today, I was very skeptical but seeing more gameplay has gotten me really excited

  • Thanks for your objective thoughts on the game throughout the hype, can't wait to play it! I hope there will eventually be a first person pov mod for pc. Would use it just for exploring the castle! It's massive!

  • This game is extremely packed with content I’m 10 hours in and still on level 6 quests and I’m level 15 and just acquired my broomstick for flying GAME OF THE YEAR MOST DEFINITELY

  • Yeah, the fade to black is to hide player animation and/or location changes. Hence why it fades when you start petting a cat, because if you're behind the cat or not in the right location, you would need to move to that location before the animation plays. They took the easy route and just teleport the player behind a black screen. It doesn't fade when you finish petting, because you're already in position. You just need to do the animation to stand up.

  • I was pretty skeptical going into this as well. I knew it would meet my Harry Potter fanboy expectations when it came to the world and running around Hogwarts. But the combat is legit super fun and varied and I'm mostly enjoying the story and characters. There are definitely flaws but they absolutely exceeded my expectations. And based on sales, I'm excited to see how they improve on things in the sequel. More enemy variety, better story pacing, and hopefully better technical performance.

  • I'm so happy and proud of the developers, that had absolutely nothing impressive under their belt, imo, and this game is much better than it should be. Goes to show what a passionate studio can do when given the opportunity

  • This was the one game in my life that I pre ordered with no doubts that it would be good and now about 20 hours in I’d say this lives up to the hype man, it took me longer in this game to get my own broom than it did for me to platinum Spider-Man ps4, this game is truly insane

  • This game is amazing. The attire is straight 🔥. I wish they made some of the cloaks and scarfs in real life.

  • As someone who had no hype for this, went in totally blind, and isn’t even a Harry Potter fan- this game is awesome.

  • I know it's early and I haven't played it yet, but the only thing I'm worried about is the game being analogous to a mile wide pool that is 1 inch deep. This seems to be the case for lots of games of this style especially recently. We'll see what happens.

  • While watching this I legit got distracted on my way to an objective, read a quick note and then suddenly was in a giant maze like in Goblet of Fire, this game is amazing!

  • An awesome The Last of Us tv series adaptation and now an awesome Harry Potter game adaptation. Good times for games/gamers lately

  • Game is great i love it! Very immersive and respectful to the hp lore

  • totally agree with you on the fade to black thing. Kinda breaks the immersion for me. Nevertheless I can’t wait to play this game on Friday. It looks incredible

  • I hope they add an apparition spell or whatever that thing is the death eaters used to fly around later on in a dlc or an update, would be pretty cool

  • Also for any viewers wondering about what he said at 18:07 every house has its own unique side quests and missions, ravenclaw has the least amount so keep that in mind when choosing your house. But yeah you can essentially play the game 4 times over and have different experiences, although the main story remains the same of course (as far as I know.. I’m still on my first play through. But my buddy chose ravenclaw and he fucked up😂

  • They did more then great lives up too the hype and I’m beyond happy

  • One thing that happened to me on Feb 11th is I exited one of the Hogwarts doors and glitched under the map and could not get to the menus to restart or anything. I had to force close the console and reopened the game. Luckily, when it opened I was mid fall and landed somewhat on the map and was able to quick travel somewhere else on the map.

  • It’s so relatable when he talks about making your way to a quest and getting side tracked that you forgot your objective was. Lol happens to me all the time.

  • They really captured the feeling of the movies well

  • There are def some technical issues that I hope get ironed out but I'm enjoying it so far. Played like 6 hours and only just got access to the open world and still don't have my broom quite yet or the room of requirement. This game seems kinda massive.

  • I'm a few hours into it and so far it's amazing. The artowkr the way you think of Hogwarts and have seen in the movies and read in the books is there. It's all there. It's insane the amount of detail in the smallest damn thing is insanely cool. This game is great and I do recommend this game highly. It's fun, it's Harry Potter in the best way possible. I love it. And I'm not even the biggest Harry Potter fan either. This is a great game get it. Just buy it. Even if you aren't into Harry Potter just get it. As I said it's grand.

  • The only real differences other than coming out of the "witch" or "wizard" section of the dorm are the houses. Each house has it's own experience and their own exclusive quest revolving around the name "Jackdaw".

  • It definitely looks like a game of the year contender. Thank god someone finally released a game that is worth it. We needed this game to be good. To show other companies that releasing games broken on day one isnt the normal. This is how games should be released. Watch the sales go well over expectations.

  • Probably the most FUN I’ve ever had playing a video game. My wife got me into the Potterverse. I can’t imagine how great it is for people who grew up loving this franchise.

  • Since the developers aren't the most experienced with creating massive triple A games, I think we could let the fade to blacks slide? But that's just my thoughts anyway. The combat looks fun and it's also pretty cool that you get to explore Hogsmeade as well, which I've wanted to do for such a long time. I really like this game and I don't care what the woke crowd have to say about it since the devs and warner bros have distanced themselves from JK. Definitely going to explore this one thoroughly before Resi 4 Remake comes out

  • It is truly amazing! I've basically waited for a game like this for over 2 decades and suffice it to say.. It's everything I wanted it to be! 😀

  • I was blown away by how good it looks as well. It’s one of those games that really let me notice the difference between my old console and my gaming pc. Buttery smooth frames and just overall great graphics.

  • With the current state of gaming the fact I’m playing this early before the day one patch and I’m not getting anything but some lighting glitches is refreshing. The developers were under a microscope with all of this and came out in stride

  • Your comment about it being easy to play, is exactly right - everything feels very natural, very quickly. The control system, the feel of the world, the way you learn new spells/potions in a believable non-nannying way. Looked forward to this release ever since it was announced, and for once, the product delivered has lived up to expectations. Playing this between a desktop rig and my Steam Deck is a nice experience, and while the fast travel system works well, quite happy to just explore the world and take it all in at my own pace, which says everything you need to know about this game.

  • So glad this game is as good as it is, I'm not the biggest Potter fan by a long shot but the series has always been a major nostalgia/comfort thing for me despite not being heavily involved in the general fandom, so finally having a HP game of this quality is great to experience now just to order some more RAM so that I don't need to do my entire playthrough with heavy stutters as my laptop currently only has 8GB's and it's struggling!

  • 2023 looks packed man. We got redfall and starfield coming this summer and two game of the year contenders already.

    • Hold on…..Nintendo still makes games?

    • redfall💀

    • @jasper de bel It's Borderlands Im-Sim with Vampires, shit looks exactly what the genre has been missing for years now.

    • @Henry Brothers I’ll accept being broke 😂

    • @Capper_Bra that’s fine 😊

  • It reminds me of older games where the goal is exploration, immersion, and mini challenges. Not hyper violent shock value.

  • The thing that annoys me most so far is the "incomplete" jingle when picking up the pages xD Maybe once in a while when you pick em up they can also play the finishing part.

  • I fucking loved the scene with the title screen with the train, the owl and the first time you see the castle. Total awe!

  • So rich in detail! Got to say This is a really really good game! Only a few games I have loved since the Witcher.. and this is One of them!

  • Noticed 2 bugs, a kid was in the floor in the castle with his head sticking up, and two kids throwing a ball in hogsmeade were having the ball glitch and freeze mid air and they just kept playing their animation without a ball for a few seconds. Very pleased with the polish overall

  • Was waiting for this. I ordered the game earlier. It looks awesome

  • I'm loving this game so far. About 6 hours in.

  • Really appreciate your quick review Luke!! Always trust your takes and can't wait to play!

  • I’m loving it feels like a true Harry Potter game and it’s great on ps5 performance mode still looks crazy really well optimised of pc aswell and just loving exploring hogwarts n all the locations from the films that have bad memories 😂
