  • Such a band happens once a dacade or two at max. Something else...

  • I almost wish the drums were mixed this loud on the album! I love listening to Baard's grooves, he is electric

  • I'm older than you, but I still want to be you when I grow up.

  • Dude, you need to film in higher FPS, the framerate can't keep up with your sticks! Awesome playing btw, very inspiring :-)

  • Is it just me or the sound is not exactly in sync?

  • Hate sloppy snares tuning.

  • Vaya P*ta Abusada!

  • After a very long time have i found a drummer that i thoroughly enjoy watching

  • This is still special.

  • The faces lol....I think you need to hit the drums and cymbals harder 😂....great job Baard!

  • Someone get this guy new cymbals every week. Fucking great job dude.

  • jesus .... he even tried to drum on with his hands after losing the stick. This is so unconceivably sick .... there are no better drummers, there are just other .... you just can´t hope to get to this level. Up on top for me with Sean Reinert ... playing an instrument not only the drums ....

  • Neil Peart is in another dimension watching these videos, I'm sure

  • Rewinding back to 0:00 , absolutely amazing 👍👍👍☮☮☮

  • Oh!

  • Those growls by ihsahn, damn.

  • 33 cymbals didn't like this video.

  • Screw working out at a gym, play the fucking drums lmao

  • Creating a Riff mainly using Toms, back to front, low to high, on a song called Rewind it's just phenomenal.

  • trym from emperor with a top knot? conspiracy theory

  • 3:50 1 to reach that double bass speed, not so easy, 2 to maintain it so precisely even harder, 3 to drop a stick and having to reach to the other side and still maintain a metronome like beat, god level. I know a lot death metal drummers that can play double bass this fast, I don't know that many that can play this part like he does...

  • el grito que parece a un grupo visual j.rock el grupo se llama D xD

  • No cymbal endorsment for him, really ? As always all for performers who are not making any music...

  • If gays could have children, it would be the son of Dave Lombardo and Mike Portnoy.

  • Baard, you need to do keep fit videos as a bit extra on the side

  • Nice cymbal repairs

  • That was impressive, even the stick drop where a lot of drummer I have seen would have to wait until the start of the bar to come back in. The herthas at the start were cool, the way he played in between the guitar riff in around the four minute mark was very cool. Those single stoke roles were insanely fluid, especially over that double bass drum pattern. Really good drummer, very creative and above all else musical, very much enjoyed it 👍

  • 3:40 look at that snare head! :O

  • Well ive seen Leprous live but this is something unexpected :O(It's like Guts going berserk in anime o so)

  • I have been watching your work for a long time. Level - the god of drums !!! Hello from Russia :) VERY CoOL!!!!!!

  • Him, clay aeschliman, troy Wright, nathan camarena, and Forrest rice. Prog done right

  • It would be wonderfull to see it at 60 fps video - anyway thanks, that was awesome!

  • 2:01 - 3:01 best part

  • The fucking passion is intense!! Great playing!!

  • me came for some aAAaaAAaahs.. me pleased!

  • How can this not have more views? This is fucking awesome!! The energy, the precision! Mad powerhouse!!!

  • your snare is very low tuned

  • u2 exsamble

  • the band haw hads a voice, whits is great or beather

  • what a singer too

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • Don't get me wrong but for me you are a new Neil Pert, younger, more creative and bold. Congratulations. Maybe some well-positioned black, death metal techniques enrich your sound a little. (and just a guess, okay?) Maybe you can reach the apex of the progressive. It is very good to hear you.(Google translator portuguese-english). God bless you.

  • Awesome performance! What kind of crash is that with the cutouts?

  • that snare batter head is loow, you can see it move like crazy

  • if only the vocals were good

  • This needs to be at leat 60 ftps because i cant see him move :P

  • Amazing outcome brother, amazing drummer, performer, love your ideas hope to Meet soon🤘🖤🦴

  • Fuck :O

  • THE ONLY VERSION worth to listen !!!!

  • So to name but a few things I love about this. 1. Almost every cymbal is broken and sounds awesome. 2. The most epic stick recovery. 3. The overall genius of the double pedals over that snare rhythm towards the end of the track. You are fucking sick man.

    • My favourite cymbal I owned was a cheap thin small no-name splash that I got for free as it was already knackered. One day after a hard hit it turned "inside out", so from then on it looked a bit like an upside down china. I mean I loved it before, but after this it sounded even more amazing. A bit like something between a splash and a small china. I sold the whole kit long ago, but that was real unique!

  • All those that down this should get the dropped stick up their ass.

  • Unbelievable, I never knew I liked so much drums... Thank you Baard!

  • I can't like this video enough times.

  • I'm still in so much love with what you do on the toms. It has a full on tribal feeling.

  • This is a drummer,no triggers no shit,pure talent

  • Noe av det RÅESTE jeg har sett gjort på trommer!

  • This is epic.

  • Been drumming my entire life...and right now I have a messed up wrist keeping me from being able to play. So, as a result, watching this just inspires me and makes me want to play and improve...but the moment I start playing again, it will soon turn back to discouragement... oh well! Baard, you're beyond phenomenal...and I hope to someday have even a shred of the talent you have! ...I'd also like to point out, (as the VIP session in San Francisco showed...) you're a wonderfully and genuinely nice dude, and I respect the hell out of ya!

  • In Soviet Russia, Drums play Baard

  • Even Baard's own face can't withstand the awesome power of his drumming 😆

  • What the f? Awesome use of polyrhythm, progress in structure, unusual composition... we have another beast on our hands! 😉

  • abbello mioooooo

  • How can you not get cramps in legs from 3:50? ;) controlled epelectic attack!

  • WTF!! 3:01 Why he pushes cymbal away :)))

    • yeh it's cause the next part is intense af. that way he wont hit it on accident while hes transitioning between those other cymbals

  • 2:33 that improvisation!!

  • Shimmer of Oz. Really beautiful finish.

  • I keep coming back to this video, great playing!

  • Dude thats so sick and creative!! 666/5

  • Слушаю давно, слов нет, супер!

  • Wow. 2 questions: what was the frame rate this was recorded and rendered at? Seems less than 30 fps. Second question: is the snare head really slack? It appears to be pretty loose in the video, which seems like it would be hard(er) to play those figures. Damn good.

  • So he became the actual drummer, for being just a fan?

    • Well, I think Oystein had to leave/wanted to for some reason, and Leprous needed a drummer. And I'm sure Einar + Tor looked at Baard's drumming and went "hmmm, the kid's shit-hot with the sticks, we'd better utilise him" 😆

  • Did I just hear a bit of Mastodon ……. Same beastdrummer for sure.

  • Proud to be an Norwegian. Helt rått!

  • Meh. This dude sucks. Baard Kolstad is way better than this newbie. In fact, i honestly think Baard Kolstad is not only better than this dude, i think he is simply the best drummer in the world. I´m totally serious.

  • omg.........

  • The whole song is epic, but 2:00 to 3:00 is just pure, bridled insanity. Absolutely well done!

  • That last two minutes is just absolutely outrageous in every way..

  • That was awesome!!! Keep rocking

  • That drumstick couldn’t take it anymore and decided to dip

  • Great drummer band is so so

  • Will go down as one of the greats.

  • I respect Mike Portnoy.... But it's time now to elevate drumming in other way, more organic than systematic .... Feel it's there all the songs... Great drummer and inspiration for my new direction too. :)

  • EPIC! I just ran out of words, because got breathless just to watch such an amazing performance. How did you not run out of your breath playing it?? And what about your legs? C'mon... Oh, man. You nailed it! :D

  • I just wanna say massive respect for leaving the stick drop in. Most people would of done another whole take. Shows that this is actual skill and not just 15 takes until you got a good one. Keep drumming dude.

    • or this *was* the 15th take and he was like YA KNOW WHAT, THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH!'

    • I think he averages a total of 3 stock drops/breaks a video! Haha. But for real, love his “Keep it rolling attitude even if it’s not perfect (although it usually still is!)”

    • I think leaving the blip in is just Baard's way of saying "yes, I am in fact human, just in case you're confused" 😆

  • The snare head looks like it is about to collapse with every hit.

  • 4:15 - Love the cymbal slap and recovery, lol If I had a dollar for every time I caught my stick on something and flung it into the air...

  • All right iTent calm down

  • Не знаю ни одного русского барабанщика который сможет так же! Хочу стать первым.

  • Every modern rock drummer just got their ass kicked by a kid with a man bun! Wow! Saw these guys with Bent Knee and Haken...great show.

  • looks like an endless ammo machinegun from 3:50 and so on

  • such a passionate drummer)) holy sh*t!! Interesting, I've noticed that the snare is pretty loose. Somehow it doesn't make any discomfort.

  • Fenomenal show yesterday in Frankfurt Greetz und thanx from Mannheim

  • Jasna cholera! Jesteś najlepszy! Gratuluję nóg :)

  • Woah dope

  • WOW just WOW! That sound, that skill, that song.... Pure awesomeness!

  • It's in the title bois: once the video's over, you know what you gotta do.

  • You guys discovering each other was like winning the lottery big pot. There's an incredible symbiosis in Leprous and the compositions for every single instrument (Einar included) are simply out of this world. Thank you for everything you are! Cheers, see you all soon.

  • you are a freak sir

  • R.I.P. Legs

  • Killer playing!!!!Great man!!!!!You are a big influence!!
