  • “This is the only programme coming to you from 10 years in the future.” What great timing.

    • And what a future it is…actually I should say how gloomy it is

    • The end board sadly didnt predict the top gear with the unfunny trio

    • @Red Card You should watch less mainstream media.

    • Or two years in the past

    • Lol I’m in 2022

  • Here’s a true fact about Senna that didn’t make it into either documentary: Despite Senna being the legend in F1 he was, five drivers along with the FIA President Max Mosley did _not_ attend his funeral. They were at Roland Ratzenbergers who had died the day before Senna died but was overshadowed by the world mourning Ayrton. These six men went because they knew if they didn’t Roland would be forgotten. And THAT is more respect than most people understand.

    • They found an Austrian flag in Senna's car the day of the fatal crash, to wave it in Roland's honour in case he won.

    • @Dirk Van Troyen Australia has got nothing to do with Roland, you could have at least got the country right...

    • @ferrari2k Sorry, typo.

    • @ferrari2k homie austria and australia are different??

    • @Luis Gonzalez The comment I referred to mixed that up...

  • The sheer joy on Hamilton's face will always make me smile, he's like a kid who got to drive the bat mobile

    • Who is “Hamilton”

    • Lewis Hamilton. The formula 1 driver who got to drive Senna's car at the end of the video.

    • Hes a young lad living every young lads dream, and hes one of the few to recognize it it. Hamilton's always had my respect and always will just for that fact alone. And the mans can drive like a beast lol

    • Or me inside Tony Stewart's 1999 Home Depot car.

    • @Bao bro what

  • Jezza in 2012: "Top Gear is coming from the future!" Jezza in 2022: "Oh no! Anyway, this sports tractor can really plow fields well!"

  • Just after Jeremy says of Senna's car "It's dancing!" Brundle says "I have absolutely no idea what he's doing there!" as Senna has the car leaping & bucking before hurling it through a corner. It's one of the most amazing pieces of driving I've ever seen! Watching Senna race every fortnight spoilt me for F1 today. The cars, the drivers through the 80's was such a special time. There was something raw, something animal, that is totally lacking nowadays.

    • only that... he did not say that.

    • @Ti Hi Yup, I realised this after I typed the above. I think it changed in my remembering. I thought the clip had been edited but after looking for the "full piece" I realised it was my memory that'd changed, not what he said. Our memories are surprisingly malleable. You don't remember the actual event, but the last time you remembered that event. So yes, you're right & I was wrong.

    • F1 today is like a macdonalds, back in the 80's was a big juicy steak

    • I agree that the racing in the 80's and 90's was so much better than today. The drivers HAD to listen to the car to know if something is breaking or not quite right instead of relying on some geek in the garage watching the telemetry saying oh dear we have lost 0.01% of our HP on the straight or that one of the sponsors decals has lifted by a fraction of a millimetre reducing aerodynamics by 0.0005%. Back then the telemetry was limited and the drivers had to 'nurse' the cars to bring them home. Now if the front wing is not providing enough downforce the driver can alter it in the car while driving or have the guys in the pits press a button on a laptop to send to the car to make the change. The cars now are like a computer game and less about driver skill but more about which team has the deepest pockets to invest more into the technology

    • same as moto gp 2 stroke era

  • That Reliant Robin segment is the hardest I have ever laughed when I first saw it.

    • For me, it was Jeremy’s scream when trying to navigate his “Caravan” on the highway. Still makes me laugh when I just think of it.

    • The Reliant sketch was tedious

    • I agree. My Dad and I laughed till we cried. I can still get the giggles just thinking about it.

    • In all fairness the show admitted they heavily modified the car to make it unstable by adding weights and removing / modifying suspension components.

    • My mom was watching on a flight home from one of our vacations... and we kept looking over at her because she was cracking up

  • Honestly I just loved the fact you put a good portion of Senna’s episode there *g o o d n e w s*

    • yeah i thought it would make a good final scene planned to use the british sports cars bit actually but cant put it in since copyright

    • Excellent finish with the Senna episode. Crazy that now Lewis is the best now too... Great episode 🙂

    • @incT It differently did. Thank you for the memories.

    • @WuJing421 idk about Lewis being the best. Maybe currently. But kimi and seb were definitely better.

    • @The Dude you have to admit Lewis does have serious credentials on the track. But that all I knew him by. This past year, seeing all the nonsense he's been up to, and the drama that follows him around, it's definitely knocked him down a peg or two. Still for F1, Schumacher and Senna are the only two in my tops. That may be unpopular to some, but they're my all-timers.

  • Prior to watching the episode with Ayrton Senna, I'd never heard of him. I had no idea who he was. Somehow, I was nearly reduced to tears by the story.

    • As were we all. Boy the way they told stories on Top Gear captivated in a way that no other motoring show has.

    • And there is MUCH MORE! He is, and will be, our HEROE, FOREVER!

    • Watch the documentary ‘Senna’, it’s an amazing piece of work

  • That whole bit of Jeremy pretending to go buy his wife a present so he can avoid Louie is hilarious

    • I feel like the joke is going over my head. What’s wrong with Louie?

    • @Shane Fell Back in the long-long ago (90s and early 2000s) people really didn't like gay people. Louie is stereotypically gay (accent, intonation, behavior) and Clarkson was trying to dodge that bullet. It's basically a joke about Clarkson being avoidant of those kinds of people, back when the tide was changing on LGBT acceptance and jokes like that were still worth a cheap laugh instead of some concern as they might be interpreted these days. (I'm LGBT myself - hopefully this was explained neutrally and reasonably)

    • @Andrei Yang cheers. I thought there might have been something I was missing but it’s basically ‘Jeremy is a homophobe’

  • 15:58 It may be short, but Jeremy's desperate squealing is one of my favorite bits in all of Top Gear.

  • The “Whooop” and the unrestrained joy on Hamilton’s face is amazing to see ANYONE, THAT HAPPY…and to know what his car is..and to know that the old McLaren made him think….”oh boy!!!”…..pretty amazing segment

    • Gosh for a modern day driver to be in the same room as that car let alone drive it? Honestly it's probably one of the penultimate experiences of Hamilton's life.

    • I had a subscription to Road & Track from 1989 to 2000-ish I can recall looking at the F1 race results in each edition during the season…and seeing Senna and Prost …And McLaren always in the first and second positions And if Senna’s name wasn’t there…he was a dnf….the only thing that could stop him was a crash or mechanical problems…or the team🤷🏼‍♂️

  • 37:20 the pure excitement in lewis’ voice shows how much of an idol senna was to him

  • If you don't watch but a single episode of Top Gear in your life, let it be the one from this series about Senna. Honestly it is one of the best pieces of documentary I've ever seen in my life.

  • “did you see this incident on DVD or pay per view” always gets me haha

  • MMXX, that's 10 years in the future. And here we are, 1 year after that.

  • This show, with these three hosting it, is one of the greatest achievements in the history of television.

  • watching the lads actually obey the speed limit in America will never not make me laugh

  • 17:05 Despite the fact that it'd take an insane amount of time to make, those head and taillights alone cost more than a normal car xD

  • One of the best seasons they had.

  • Tonight I Miss This Show You Miss This Show We All Miss This Show

    • @Schmuly same

    • ... back when you needed a car show to keep the BBC "politically balanced".

    • Yeah....

    • Good thing it still runs from where I am Is what I would say if it wasn’t the recent ones

  • James may casually being in an active volcano is insane

  • james may laughing at jezza behind him in that citroen is the best laugh ever on top gear

  • The Charles Peugeot part got me dying of laughter 😂

  • 4:12 this is the first time I heard Hammond say “he’s checking for a pulse” 😂😂😂

  • 24:31 Damn they really designed the car around the Heisenberg uncertainty principle

  • Senna was the greatest driver ever, he knew what the car would do before it would do it.

    • He was the ultimate example of racing being 90% driver and 10% car.

  • While I don't live in the same area as that mayor, he has my vote. Those dance moves were top notch.

  • Great job doin a good job for all of top gear fans

  • 6:08 The way he gasped though. 🤣

  • Just to express how much of an impact Senna made in the motorsports community, when he died Dale Earnhardt said in an interview that he’d finish in second place in a heartbeat if it meant bringing him back. Dale hated to finish in second, very rarely did he let his emotions show, but when it did show you know it means a lot to him

  • Top Gear was the best automotive show ever. Miss them really

  • "You don't think it fell out of James's luggage do you" Funniest thing in the entire series.

  • That theme music gives me strong feelings. Partly happy, partly just that I have spent so much time binge watching all these episodes over the years.

  • 7:15 I’m sure many others consider this clip to have aged like a fine wine

  • As an American this trio has to be my favorite thing outside of the states besides the trailer park boys 😅 Jeremy has been cracking up constantly

  • Such good memories watching this. Series 15 was when I first found Top Gear. Wasn’t even a car fan back then, the guys were very entertaining if not infantile at times.

  • 24:30 Ferrari has reached such perfection they’re running into the uncertainty principle.

  • RIP Senna, absolute legend

  • “I’m now on her to-do list” LMAO Miss the segments with an audience. Love the new specials on their new show, but just like this, I miss the tent part of the series

  • 14:05 "Did you see this incident on DVD or Pay-per-view?" oh man James you magnificent creature

  • The Dacia Duster is cheaply made, but it's also mechanically solid. Not a bad car at all, especially for the price.

  • I love the part on Senna. I remember the rivalry with Prost in the 80's. I only got to read about it in some car magazines. Thank you.

  • The Bugatti driver was probably thinking "I am not going to be slower than Captain Slow" before he did his run.

  • lewis' excitement for aryton sennas car makes me happy and im not even a mercedes fan, i wish this could be how it is for everything

  • Ah the good Top Gear days, they had such a good run for several years

  • "When you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna.

  • 15:31 I love how it cuts off lmaoo, and this one had me dying as well 29:45 💀

  • I wish I was alive in the 80s just for the racing. It’s just not the same anymore.

  • The three looking at a tower in the distance “That fell out of James’ luggage” 😂 *“Fell out of my what”* 😂😂😂

  • "Did the wind do that?" "No, a big giant came along." People wonder where I get my sarcasm from and a lot of it comes from Clarkson, honestly.

    • I don't know any little giants...

  • I absolutely loved this :D always up for a good laugh

  • 13:33 Captain Slow giving Jezza a dose of his own medicine

    • Luckily they fit the camera for him or else it would be 6500rpm

  • Best season ever. Brilliant.

  • Such a great tribute to Senna, But lest we not forget Roland Ratzenberger who died the day before. A sad sad time for F1. But on a more cheery note, I do love the bit about Hamilton getting to drive his idols car. Thats like the ultimate experience day to top all experience days! The look on his face is just a picture! Love it.

  • "pussy energy drink" I damn near fell off the chair laughing. this is going to create ALOT of problems and divorces 🤣🤣🤣

  • There's lots of incredible things in there, but the one thing I take away from it as the most important and memorable thing: 16:18 Hammond is a Brit who knows how to properly pronounce Porsche. Kudos.

  • they should do this for the grand tour every year.

  • Why didn't Top Gear warn us about 2020 if they had time travel?

    • Exactly

    • the year itself isn't that bad what are you talking about actually what is it with you internet people and generalising entire years under a negative impression for negative reasoning

  • 20:04 No you see what's happened is that the actual quote was "I loved Top Gear (... that is until I found out Jeremy Clarkson was a part of it. It doesn't matter what you do to me or bribe me with, but you'll never hear me saying that) Jeremy Clarkson is fantastic."

  • 20:47 “I’m now on her to do list” 80% of things on a To Do List never get done

  • "the thing about a steering wheel is,... it moves" so profound ..

  • JM: "It's raining red hot chunks" *Puts his hand out like it's rain*

  • 7:08 That aged well.

  • Back when we'd also just watch Top Gear for the sound editing

  • 7:13 really just hits different.

  • The story of Senna and interview with Lewis Hamilton are the best parts of this season

  • The rolling the Robin 04:30 killed me.

  • Peugeot 405 joke James said had me proper laughing

  • Thank you for contributing this incredible service.

  • Damn, Senna and some of Dale Earnhardt in him. Wrecked Prost straight up for the championship in that clip

  • Richard is always used to roasting people all the time

  • The block of flats on wheels episode nearly killed me from asphyxiation

  • 8:33 As a Canadian I can verify that this is an excellent question 😂

    • It would make more sense for driving in Chicago, Oakland, Detroit, DC, well I don't think I need to go on.

    • I’m an American and I’ve heard the Canadians are not people to mess with. They have one of the most advanced special forces in the world and I imagine that big armored vehicle would be used for things such as diplomatic protection operations.

    • @Jake B. Their special forces are basicaly tea party.

    • @ScrewBencpress ?

  • It's hard to find top gear where I live, so thanks a lot for this compilation. It's also cool that you didn't put in only comedic moments.

    • where do you live? it could be available (you could also just pirate it)

    • @incT I like how you think

  • Jeremy flagging everyone with that pistol.

    • Come on. That's normal if you visit a gun store anymore. I feel disappointed if someone doesn't muzzle me when I'm in one.

  • Reliant Robin is my favorite Top Gear bit of all time

  • I'm not laughing at Jeremy flipping over the robin I'm laughing at the 69 on the plate

  • 7:09 why does always these clips give me goosebumps

  • 24:29 the left screen clearly shows the speed the car is going, so having the right screen show the satnav isn't an issue.

  • Clarkson’s idea of F1 is better than current F1😂

  • 27:04 I remember spitting my food out over my tv when I first saw this live back in 2010! Good times, good times.

  • The ending was just wholesome

  • Man, I miss the old uncensored humor

  • Apparently Jeremy modded the Robin to roll easier. But does it make a difference? It’s still funny as hell

  • The Camper Cars episode is probably the best in Top Gear history. At least the top 3 episodes.

  • I like that this is the only "Best Of" video that just includes ALL of a segment...in this case the Senna mini-doc.

  • The new Dacia Duster is coming to the UK!

  • Without a doubt, this was the best season of the show! The Reliant Robin segment was just mind-blowingly funny! I am honestly very sad the boys are not still making this show. I heard they are still making without them, but honestly, who cares! Its just not the same.

    • Its not the same because theyve been doing it for so damn long and they're too damn old unfortunately. All good things must come to an end sadly :(

  • 27:45 Little did they know, the 45 MPH sign in America IS the "no more speed limits" sign

  • 14:48 - Legendary clip

  • Jeremy: 'sees his wrecked motorhome' What's that?

  • The senna bit was soo good

  • 24:34 Werner Heisenberg approves of this.

  • Love the reliant robin.

  • In the 80's, F1 was all about the driver. Now it's all about who has the fastest car.

  • I love that you left the entire senna clip in

  • Top gear didn’t see how bad the future would be in 10 years tho

  • So nice of Ferrari to teach its customers about the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle with the SatNav Speedo. :)

  • *”Fell out of my WOT?”* -James May

  • "I'm know on her TODO list" killed me
