-Sees door that shouldn’t be there -Grabs chair to prop it open This guy knows his shit
Darn right!
Smart enough to prop up a chair but not smart enough to stay out of the house that warps space time
If a fucking door that can warp space shows up in your home. The energy required for that would rip that chair into nonexistence.

Young brains are very hungry for knowledge. It takes a lot of time and energy. So worth it, though!

And not feeding that curiosity leads to a dumb kid who becomes a hater of learning
A lot of kids stop asking questions because their parents get tired of it and tell them to stop. A good parent answers most of the questions they can and keeps the child's curiosity alive

His gut DIDN'T tell him anything. The store clerk in town did, when he gave him the triangle and told him to check the right angles of the walls.

I like the part where he actually saves her
Movie looks interesting. And that guy is a great actor too.
When you use the 60 degree angle instead of the 90 degree angle to check if your wall is perpendicular to the floor
Re-watch it's 90
He didn't put the 90° against the wall and floor though. He put the hypotenuse of the triangle against the wall with the 90° angle pointed back towards him and the short side of the triangle not even touching the floor.
I thought it was 60° at first too but realized we're viewing it at an angle that makes it look that way. He has the square titled so it looks 60° to our point of view. Also the end he's holding does not look 90°.
Smart people, I envy you 😢😅
@MisguidingWish but it's clearly a prop made such that the 90 angle isn't really 90. They clearly made this to show the wall is tilted without having to actually adjust the wall. That angle is def not 90.
The movie is called You Should Have Left, and it's based on the book "House of Leaves" in which the house is basically a portal to the Backrooms, which ends up driving the owner insane.

The average house built by cowboy builders.
When this movie was made Amanda syefried was 34 and Kevin Bacon was 63... Nearly 30 years older. When will the old trope of an old man and young women being married finally be put to bed? When will we stop valuing women less once they are older than thirty while men get leading roles beside women half their age portraying the wife? It's messed up.

The concept for this was taken from the book “house of leaves”. The book has several stories within, the most interesting being the “Navidson Record” about a house with a closet that grows eventually adding a million square feet or more to the interior of the house.
It becomes a horror movie when the Property tax assessor finds out.
