Never before in human history have we been richer, more advanced or powerful. And yet we feel overwhelmed in the face of rapid climate change. It seems simple on the surface. Greenhouse gases trap energy from the Sun and transfer it to our atmosphere. This leads to warmer winters, harsher summers. Dry places become drier and wet places wetter. Countless ecosystems will die while the rising oceans swallow coasts and the cities we build on them.

So why don’t we just like… prevent all of that? Well, it’s complicated.

    • Hello

    • @kurzgesagt-In a Nutshel pls Turkish CC plsss

    • off course it is...

    • @Chishio Chishio 1. Add 5%/year of today’s level to energy efficiency to +40% total by 2030. 2. Taper 1% of today’s level per month fossil emission, down to zero by 2030. 3. Plant 4 new trees/person/year or equal direct air drawdown down to 300 ppmv. 4. Stabilize, fix and grow ecosystems down to 300 ppmv. (But why ever stop?) 5. Cut 100% of avoidable emissions of methane-or-worse CO2e gases right now. There's nothing political in that.

    • Thank you

  • What about the "mushrooms" emissions?

  • Nuclear is the solution yet you don't bring that up

  • I think the main problem is overpopulation though... Even though it's hard to talk about it, we shouldn't keep growing until we've got a solution for all this

  • Democrats do care about climate change always saying they want do fix it but in the past 30 years and Democrats have done nothing and they never will

  • I always thinking 🤔 how to scared everyone that climate change is serious things

  • May i just say how well researched kurzgesagt videos are, how they put in all links is so open. It helps me in my reports cuz I always go to Kurzgesagt for any research in detail. the research is also done from reliable and authentic places e.g educational institutions, government articles, organizations

  • Whatever nation you are in. Please hold your own nations climate efforts up against what has been decided in Denmark. Denmark ARE leading the way for Western industrialized nations! Let me inform/remind you. The basic promise, all in the Paris climate agreement have signed onto are: 50% reduction of greenhouse gasses (like CO2 and Methane) from 1990 level, before 2050. In Denmark we KNOW that this demand fulfilled are NOT ENOUGH to halt the climate changes already set in motion. It makes me proud to say that Denmark, in 2019, approved in parlament with 167 for, out of 179, to voluntarily, nationwide, reduce CO2 emissions with 70% from 1990 level before 2030! That is just 9 years from now! Inside the same decision the Danish parlament also have agreed that Denmark are NOT allowing themselves to buy CO2 quotas to deliver the result "on paper". It has to be a genuine and real reduction. So its a massive improvement and what the climate and the global population needs that ALL countries do. THAT is how you TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! On top of that, Denmark have oil in its underground and they have, approved in parlament a few months ago. Valid immediately, to also decide to stop their planned oilsector explorations and have decided that any oil in their underground are going to be stored CO2 that never will be released. They keep their current oil platforms (under the Paris agreement) but have decided to decommission platforms either, as they get to old or the wells they have under them run dry. Denmarks change away from fossile fuels have been focused on land and off shore windmills. Off shore windmill parks are large scale where they are going. The overall vision are to be more than 100% selfsustained with sustainable green energy and usage and eventually export both sustainable electricity and hydrogen. Denmark would be able to ramp up our plans considerably reg. sustainable electricity and hydrogen production pretty fast if other nations or companies would commit to same longterm deals as they do on oil. Our decades long experience raising off shore windmill parks means we have the knowledgeable workforce to respond relatively fast and the newest generations of off shore windmills are producing KVW considerably cheaper than just a few years ago. The entire globes energy (electricity and hydrogen incl. if all cars ran hydrogen) need could easily be covered by off shore windmills. It REALLY makes no sense we dont, once and for all, take the principle decision to do just that inside a very short year-span. It would create a global supergrowth periode and after doing that or even at same time we could build a global continent connecting vaccum based hyperloop, let a global supergrid follow same route and a space elevator. These 4 decisions would have the ability to improve ALL our lifes, restore conditions for us and biodiversity and significantly improve our lifes without destroying our habitat. A global mega decision on raising off shore windmills would also be a lifesaver for our oceans. I have privately dived at Dansih off shore windmill foundations and they function as artificial reefs and create living space for first mussles and seaweed and that leads to living conditions for smaller fish, the bottom (foundation) for the marine foodchain. It is estimated that over 20% of global marine life are directly linked to global coral reefs and these are under pressure because of global warmer water and experience increasing bleaching events that eventually can kill the reefs off. Maybe industrial seaweed production, that Denmark experiment with, can reduce the natural gas production in cows and thus again have another positive spin off that create jobs and allow us to continue to eat meat with less negative impact. In my book it is bad business for us all if we dont speed these things up NOW where we DO have the tech and the solutions. We know that the planets regulating weather/water systems dont respond to negative or positive changes overnight, so the current decline will take time to reverse, we ought to have made radical changes 20 years ago. NO time to waste! Enough talk, lets ACT! IF ANY politician in your nation claims it would cost your nation "to much" to act as science proves we HAVE TO, then show them this! The fossile fuel industry STILL in 2021, are the globally most subsidized sector, not even close to be a free market. At least dont use taxpayer money to destroy our planet! WHY SPEND ever increasing taxpayer money to repair ever increasing symptom of climate change, floods, draughts, climate refugees, consequences of deforestation, the decrease in living landmasses due to raising waters, desertification etc. etc. I wanna INVEST in transforming our energy production and usage to a sustainable one. WE WILL have to do the INVESTMENTS to transform under all circumstances but makes no sense to wait and just increase the bill by having to pay for the ever increasing costs by waiting. Acting NOW are the best INVESTMENT we can make for ourselves. It will be a huge economic growth and jobcreator on top. It is NOT a matter of living on a stone but a matter of TRANSFORMING how we do things. LOOK at Denmark! It IS being done with succes here! Please copy/paste! Google. "Denmark and energy islands"

  • the thumbnail: N O

  • So to summarize the whole world is dying because rich oil giants, energy companies and manufacturing industries are producing 80% of the worlds greenhouse gas emissions and we were gaslighted into thinking its the general world population who are the problem. We are then kept in line by these people at the top because they are being subsidized by world governments because our luxuries and amenities would become more expensive and living will be generally less uncomfortable if they weren't, which perpetuates the cycle, but getting rid of these companies or bankrupting them will be damaging to developing countries as they rely on their goods. This could be fixed by carbon capture devices and we live our lives as we are now but no one is willing to pay for it. So fix the emissions and climate change problem by choosing a government that wont allow the rich to destroy the planet and investing your own money into eco friendly companies but in doing so, your life will be more uncomfortable and expensive and developing countries would be screwed over. So everyone's gonna be unhappy but at least we aren't dead.

  • Start a civilization on other planet

  • My hippie sister bitched me out for burning a little plastic in a rug that was old and nasty. 95% of the emissions come from farming and industry. That rug is less than a drop in the bucket. So I have decided to burn all chemicals...especially if they explode...instead of desposing of it properly. And I am eating nothing but meat. I get my veggies from V8 and my fruits from juice. I do cheat and eat cheese because cheese is delicious. Greed and money make powerful people. Powerful people will not give up that power. A hippie is not powerful. They literally are not capable of doing anything...except bitching at their punk rock older middle class brother about burning a rug. A how does he react? Burns all chemicals and sometimes just sprays aerosol into the sky just for fun. I live near Chicago and it is too cold for my tastes. I like global warming and support it. I wonder if I could get a job doing a campaign in support of it?

  • I agree with your opinion. It’s a systematic issue. Taxing for products that create more pollution will low their demand.

  • Such an important video. The lefts green agenda seems to try to hide the fact that there is a TON of money in going green, while a lot of problems are never addressed or neglected. I don’t really have a better answer, but I will quote my geology professor years ago. “There are cold periods and warm periods. You can’t stop geologic time. This is in reference to global warming, really. Still, I try to do my part to recycle and prevent problems as much as possible, but with China and India growing exponentially, I don’t think there is much we can do about it globally. So complicated and a lot of money involved on both sides.

  • Please mention along with climate change that this year 2021 there are been 5; that's FIVE volcanoes that have gone off. Not a single mention of the millions of tons of poison gases and debris released and yet idiots block the motorway where all lorry, trucks and car engines are still running. In truth we are becoming more stupid as time goes on

  • I'm more scared of the reset

  • U can be like donald trump: Provoke everyone with nukes and start a nukelear war

  • This video feels a little different to other Kurzgesagt videos, the voicer's mannerisms sound different. A bit more desperate and passionate, because this issue is so real and preventable. 1:03 for example, is him making sure we understand the whole concept and wanting to explain it more in a little bit of a desperate and 'fed up' kind of way. See if you can spot any other things like this.

  • Just vote for Thanos - he has the solution. Easy

  • I like how there’s a big “NO*” on the thumbnail.

  • When it comes to finding solutions to such complicated problems, all I see is hypocrisy at every level. Individuals will blame politicians or other countries without introspecting at their own makings and govts will try to circumvent these problems because it doesn't earn votes. People know it very well that the only viable solution right now to the climate change problem is rapid de industrialisation and going back to primitive life stye but are they ready? No! Go to the poorest countries and try to make the people understand that they need to remain poor to cut down on emissions produced by the rest of the world. Fucking hypocrisy. The problem is we want both the problem and the solution to co-exist. I'm ready for a climate catastrophe and so should you, f*ckers.

  • Do nothing, enjoy until everyone burns or drowned

  • Kurzgesagt: "Can we fix climate change?" Thumbnail: "NO*" Greta Thunberg: wtf

  • Well there is ONE thing we can do individually : a lot of us has a social role in the society (other than political) where we can influence decision with a much larger impact. For example, if you can influence a change in the company you work, the impact will be at “company size” level which can be much larger than individual level.

  • "Doing your part(the personal carbon foot print) " in this case is such a long time bullshit. Even if it works it needs everyone doing it, which is impossible. So why should anyone doing their part? In the end it only means "you are not that convenient at doing something, and you change almost nothing to the situation, good job" . I totally agree with the last part : voting, but the sad reality is that no political figure cares about this, cause the big cooperations are the ones who give them budget. So it's impossible to vote them out, because if one is voted out, there will be another one shows up willingly to replace them, and get that sweat sweat money from those huge company

  • you know i have wanted to help fix global warming since no one else will but i think i'm out of time i wanna make something that can stop air pollution but i need to become an engineer make something and all that stuff, i love our planet and all lifeforms on it and it makes me want to scream just thinking that i share the same air as all these disgusting humans and to think im one of them

  • isnt it funny how we literally made up money and we're so attached to its stupid concept we're literally willing to let humanity die for it? it's literally not real

  • cubic farms look it up

  • 9:45 Well, there's a silver lining to the personal responsibility angle. Like the video addressed, early adopters of clean technologies can drive progress. But reducing your personal consumption can also make you feel more aligned with collective climate action, so its indirect benefit shouldn't be understated. (This according to _some_ psychological studies, so take it with a grain of salt.) Also, mildly annoyed that the graph at 14:15 is labeled as "Economics 101" with price and quantity labels implying that it's a demand curve, when it's actually a learning curve. Learning curves aren't a phenomenon usually discussed in econ 101.

  • Ahhh this seems like ironic almost paradoxical puzzle But if you are poor its hard to do lots of those things or takes a long time (like 10 years). There could be funds of rich people which would partially pay for products so poor peple could go emissio free.

  • what about the clothing industry?

  • We can only trust that "God" reveals himself unto us and "save" us...

  • Climate change is like the moon from Majora's Mask. It's just an overbearing spectre of doom that will crash down upon us if we don't act soon. It's terrifying especially considering little is changing currently.

  • The global warming elite all own their own private jets and live in huge mansions...The bottom line they preach is this, "Don't do what we do, just do what we tell you to do".

  • Only fools believe that zero-emissions will stop the climate from changing, even if all of the global economies were shut down completely, along with the global commercial aviation industry, the climate will keep changing as usual...Global warming hysteria is only driven by fearmongering based on Sci-fi, not science...It just goes to show that there are no countings the number of fools.

  • This was gonna happen sooner or later so why not now I mean it's only gonna affect some people and not all and as humanity keeps developing well figure out a way to save species

  • Anyone else notice the "Arthur meme" reference?

  • Politicians who respect sience ... you are living in utopia. As long as lobby pays for fake-information to protect the shareholders value we will not change the system. From beginning of mankind 9 Mio. years ago there have always been religions - the oldest fake-information-system up to todays uploadfilters only the brutalst leader (warlord, industries, financial systems ...) survives. We lost our chance very long bevore Kain and Abel.

  • Sorry, but electric cars are far from being environmentally friendly. As long as coal-fired power plants and nuclear power plants are needed to fill them up, an electric car is worthless. China is currently building 3000 (!!!) coal-fired power plants for its new great electric cars. France is considering selling Kenkraft as a "clean alternative". Germany has postponed the exit from coal power. And then the questions: Where do you get the rare earths from to make the batteries? What to do with the batteries when they are broken? Everything not thought through to the end! These are currently still hazardous waste and would have to be stored alongside nuclear waste. So - electric cars may be an alternative in the distant future, but a diesel with modern technology is currently 20,000 times more environmentally friendly.

  • Please polish my bald head

  • What does " fix" mean ???

  • This all depends way to much on politics and the people high up there, so things will probably not get better and we will most likely have to stay on a planet that has more and more disasters until we got the tech to live on another one. Humans live less than 100 years and most of them don't care how earth will be in 500 years

  • Wow the Gates Notes founding really shows. People it's either socialism or socialism. "Vote" by taking control of the means of production. It was really interesting how you managed to avoid how much of a role waste, that is interconnected with the capitalist markets, plays in climate change. I always hope for the best when clicking on your videos but I guess noone can escape their material reality/interests.

  • I live my life, fuck the climate

    • @Klaus Jack well im a human so im team humanity

    • You’re either team humanity or team nature

  • Bill Gates the sponsor of this video lives in a mansion. 😊

    • Rich man is rich 😅

    • Living in a mansion doesn't necessarily exclude you from being more carbon neutral than others

  • This is why we need to elect the pope and/or Greta Thunberg as the leader(s) of the UN as they are both against climate change

  • The solutions to global warming seems so impossible to do since it mostly requires a huge collective to focus on one objective. However, we as a species has achieved so much in a short time. I believe in the human society and that in the far future, we would look back and be amazed as to how we managed to solve a global problem that would create the end of our species. I know it sounds optimistic but being pessimistic does nothing except make you feel depressed and derive you from actually wanting to do something

  • Stop making babies and let old people die faster. But no one wants to hear that

    • Say that to Africa or Asia, because the (mostly white) western population are in decline.

  • I disagree with one main point…surely no single average citizen thinks that they can single-handedly solve climate change? Shout out to Bill!

  • Hey guys ! all your work is amazing !!! keep wondering. could you make a video about the humanity living on the ocean?

  • Government after watching the purge:guys i think I know how to stop overpopulation

  • i think it's time to acknowledge the elephant in the room... our current economic system is leading us to downfall

  • Dido I choose you:10:54 in the picture frame

  • Your amazing and I love your channel.🔥🤟🏻👀

  • Intro was exactly 1 minute and 20 seconds

  • Choking up the USA and Europe with regulations and allowing China and India to run free is bullshit dumping trillions of dollars into the pockets of international banksters is not going to do shit this is about totally controlling everything you do where you go at when you go there what kind of car you drive and if you can't drive it

    • This isn’t about cars, it’s about what they run on. There are already cars that are not street legal. Look into the upcoming climate summit, day one is on oct 30 I believe. Nearly every carbon emitting country is taking part in it.

  • My solution to climate change: Reject Greta Thunberg, embrace Elon Musk

    • musk is a clown

    • @Alex Bakshi China was making those changes regardless of Elon. Elon has done a lot of good, I just don’t believe he is holier than thou. Anything electric will be a great advancement, same with solar. But there are still the E waste issues he has and the methane. Chinas emissions are more based on their population troubles and recent decisions to no longer build coal burning plants in favor of making thorium salt reactors if the research holds up. As for Greta, she’s a face, if she wasn’t there it would just be another activist. What’s happening in France was going to happen regardless.

    • @Leo Here in Italy the bills and fuel are getting even more expensive because of Fridays for Future and her useless activism, 90% of the politicians are environmentalists and are in favor of more taxes to people and businesses. Elon musk on the other half is making clean energy like solar panels less expensive and the teslas are getting so affordable that china is becoming less polluted and the air is getting cleaner there

    • Neither are the answer. Elon’s rockets are soon to run on methane, 3 times as potent than carbon dioxide. He also doesn’t believe in the 3rd rail, the electric line on train tracks. He would sooner use non sustainable batteries on each individual cart for his tunnels which cost more money and materials to make and have a short life span and eventually become E waste compared to one electrified rail churching the entire train, and won’t add any weight to the Pay load. Greta is just an activist and a child. I think the publicity and focus on her In media is crude and garish, but she is one of many activists and I can’t expect one person to be a shining example of any cause. I don’t care what she does, I just think people are mean about her for no reason.

  • 죽는것보단 돈을 더내는게 더나을걸...

    • Greta said something that makes a lot of sense, adults tend to complicate things the solution is simple but we are looking for a way to preserve as much as possible before time is up even though we are living in borrowed time right now

  • Personal responsibility might seem one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops?

  • yes true we need to stop pollition like factory power plant industry they are all s***

  • Most appropriate video ever

  • I mean I guess, if you ask nicely. I've gotta finish this game though I'll do it right after

  • In the words of the philosopher Bob the Builder: Can we fix it? Yes we can.

  • I always wondered how much does this animation cost? Like this video for example (15 mins video). Does anyone know rough estimation?

  • Climate change is normal

    • Yes, but the question isn’t if it I normal, it’s the rate that it’s happening. Since the 40’s we have accelerated the process to happen 10x faster. It would have taken 1000 years for the earth to do what we have done in nearly 100.

  • What a bunch of shit. Arizona is no hotter or dryer than it was when I was a kid. So why hasn’t it gotten much worse in the last 40 years?

    • Arizona /= world. Although I strongly suspect that your feeling is wrong. People even misjudge the weather of past weeks against an average or cant remember people in a legal testimony. Let alone years against an average from 40 years ago (1960-1990 being the period not yet affected by global warming too much). IOW: Look up climate data for Arizona. Although the US has experienced much less warming than Europa or Russia for example, it should show warming in the last decades and your recollection of your childhood being a very wishy-washy indicator is very likely that: childhood memory. :) edit: Lol, there even is a Wiki page "Climate change in Arizona". And climate data showing a 2°F warming for Arizona. "According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Arizona "has warmed about two degrees (F) in the last century. Throughout the southwestern United States, heat waves are becoming more common, and snow is melting earlier in spring."

  • In my opinion we will never stop climate change. That is why I think that more money should be invested in space programs so we can move people to other planets to reduce the population (and therefore needs) on earth.

    • @Rico Brown no I’m very aware of the suggested methods, but there’s many complications with it. Racial and classism biases on who would get to leave, the cost to get that many people to another planet, the sustainability of it even. But really, regardless of If we stop climate change or not, earth would still be more livable than a planet that has never sustained complex life. The best we can do is make earth s livable as possible even if it isn’t the best. A clean slate is just giving up on everything we once owned, and we could easily fall into the same problems on a future planet if we don’t learn from this soon.

    • @Leo Yes but climate change is a huge problem and has had no signs of slowing down even though there are meetings every decade. Terraforming Mars is a much easier task than it sounds. All you need is... well climate change. if you want me to go into the chain reactions that cause the terraforming i will but that would make this comment extremely long. still even if we can't we don't need to terraform planets we can just live on them or use them as shelter if something happens to earth.

    • But then we would risk only the richest people getting off the planet and everyone else left to die, plus earth is ground zero for all of human existence, every plant, animal, culture, and piece of history has happened here. It isn’t worth leaving if we can fix it. The nearest earth like planet is 40 light years away, no one would live long enough to make it and we would still have to terraform it. It’s simply not possible to do. Just ignoring the problem and abandoning our responsibility will not do us any good

  • When i already heard the "well..its complicated" Ahh crap, we are doomed

  • Nah bro i wanna play Mad Max irl

  • 5:52 look at Africa

    • The western world pretty much still exploits Africa and clings to it like a leech, the meat industry is an expensive business in a continent with a history of being robbed and exploited

  • TL;DW don't bother changing your lifestyle, consume as much as you want, it's the governments fault so anything you do should be targeted there. At least that's what I'm taking away and doing, I'm done continuing to minimize my lifestyle impact on the environment.

    • I felt the same, but I still feel guilt when I contribute. Even if I’m just one person out of many, I’m still a statistic. I’m one more person and one more reason an offending company would need to exist.

  • You managed to distill an incredibly complex and difficult topic into this digestible video. The animations are wonderful and effective. The script and narration was informative. Thank you for all the work you do, I learned a lot.

  • Haha well we only have 12 I mean 10 wait what year is it? Left till the end. I an sorry but this video has interesting points at the beginning but then moves to bla bla bla at the end. One point the don't say or brush over is the United States has reduced its emissions more then any other country created technology to do so. Sorry to stay that what ever climate change we could do is being done by us but they will never think it is enough. Oh well.

    • We can always do better, that’s the point of progress. Climate change simply will not stop and it will always be a battle, but if we get companies and countries to stop emissions then that’s going to make it a lot easier. In only 100 years we managed to heat the earth as much the earth would have in 1000 years. Despite us doing the most, it’s hard to believe it. Carbon taxes and carbon offsets aren’t enough, oil companies still take advantage of the laws to continue emitting just as much if not more than before. A leaked interview with the Exxon representative showed just how far the business has gone to avoid all of these laws, including lying stealing and illegally polluting cities water and skirting responsibility. They won’t be held accountable until we change the way climate and pollution is handled legally.

  • If we stopped everything that we are doing to destroy the planet, right now, or if humans just simply disappeared, it would take 3 to 7 MILLION years for the earth to return to normal.

  • " We can do thing A, it will only moderately change the situation as a whole since thing B is also very bad. You see it is hopeless, any person can only do a small part and the political will to express substantive change is dysfunctional. Not that we even want any substantive change, we actively vote, work, and consume against it. " A rapidly growing number of us will give up our lives and our ways of living, the poor will abide. Everything will be increasingly unpleasant. ( By implication: " the only solutions for this problem are, in order of efficacy: 1) suicide, 2) anti- natalism, 3) genocide [ and 0) ecosystem collapse ] ) -Shower thoughts of a baby boomer billionaire

  • 'We must implement solutions now' - knowing that people will watch this for the first time in 5/10 years is a sobering thought, knowing that experts have been saying this type of thing for the last 5/10 years

    • “The best time to plant a tree was ten years ago, the second best time is today”

  • 10:39 …and consuming less during the pandemic. Carbon emission rates have gone down by 7% for 2020. We need more pandemics to stop climate change…

  • FOSSIL FUEL RULES!!!!!!!

  • no you cant

  • Thumbnail be like: NO*

  • Basically, we sorta screwed because this bad, this bad, this bad, and this bad, not much good

  • The answer already there in thumbnail why you such a waste of my precious 15 minute time i could do things any more better than watching this... But.. . ... E. E eh my brain distracted me

    • The asterisk * means there is more to just “no” there are things we can do as a collective to change the future, but just a life style change will not be enough.

  • Another solution is education, I suspect. Loaded subject, but if we make the next gen be capable and content with low-emition technologies then perhaps it'll be easier to even care to be green.

  • The thumbnail is quite discouraging

  • 12:05

  • Since when is CO2 a pollutant? 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🦧🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

    • Organic material is made of carbon, trapping it in the earth, if it’s burned, dies, or there no organic material to trap it, carbon will be released into the atmosphere warming the earth by trapping heat from the sun once it enters like an insulator. Carbon isn’t bad, emitting it at the rate we are instead of trapping it and use it alternative powers is bad.

    • It keep more heat and because of that it make climate go crazy.

  • Thank you so much. I was very scared and desperate due to global warming. I let go of the upcoming reality and waited for technological advances to come quickly, but your video gave me directions. Once again, thank you so much! Korean viewers👍

  • if u wear ur clothes out, less cotton needs tobe picked, we ca do so much more, now they play games with ice, u should see the sun work on those roofs, and then gets to a point where it stops till the morning even at times when the cloud are out in winter The Sun still feeds the clouds, the cycle, u need ;land, greed has taken over knowledge>3 The new generations are going man this planet! The flowers of our gardens

  • Apparently that bird is worthy of Mjolnir (11:28)

  • I agree with a lot of the points made in the video, but Kurzgesagt's argument about personal responsibility is terrible, theres 7.5 billion people on the planet, 7.5 billion seconds is 237 years of the whole worlds industry stopped, this is about as good an argument as saying you shouldn't vote because theres several million other people who vote and your individual vote doesn't matter. By their own admission these decisions do make a difference when enough people adopt them. As disproportionately bad as corporations and the rich may be, these largest carbon emitters aren't just polluting for no reason, they are responding to a profit motive to make products for our own consumption.

  • Earth is the titanic. Survive while you can.

  • Even the climate change informative pragmatic documentary by kurzgesagt release me some emotional oxytocin at the end. Thank you😇

  • If only us humans knew we had all the power to change it. People in power are so good at making us fight and feel hopeless. We can do so much...but dispare is at an all time high. Rich people are building their space fortresses now. Us humans really need to talk and figure out how to work together.

  • There is 2 gases that needs to be reduced but hardly talked about and that is methane and nitro oxide.

    • @Derenik Baghdasarian no yeah, absolutely. But a lot of the co2 metrics people talk about are also from the electricity the livestock companies use and transportation of the meat. But if you mean natural environment and not livestock companies, plants and animals being carbon based are the only things trapping carbon on the ground in other organisms or buried instead of in the air or polluting water ways.

    • @Leo ok well lets talk about carbon dioxide, what do you think produces more CO2 emissions than cars and vans combined? Animal agriculture produces more CO2 emissions than transportation.Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, also It contributes to It contributes to land and water degradation, biodiversity loss, acid rain, coral reef degeneration and deforestation.

    • Yes, those are bad too, but carbon dioxide is what companies have no regret limitlessly emitting and polluting the earth with, methane is more potent but much less used. If we fix carbon I’m confident methane would be tackled next!

  • "Mmm yeah actually poor people is responsible for climate change" - Bill fucking gates. You guys usually are impartial and professional, but this is clearly pandering and spreading propaganda for the wealthy. Fuck off with that nonsense.

    • They mentioned that poor countries are the major offenders across the globe in 3rd world countries right after. The rich own a lot more assets in vehicles and companies than the poor in a 1st world country and are the top emitters in those countries. They also have political sway and can argue against pollution laws if the rich persons company is large enough. So yes, it is their fault too. They are no better than us.

  • This video conveniently forgets to mention that every year volcanoes emit greenhouse gases more than ten times all human production. Will they propose to cover the volcanoes by sitting their ass on top???

  • interesting that the public attacks cars, but nobody cares about toxic factories (just look at the clothing industry!!!), ships, and planes. people like to shoot photos from different countries, but at the same time, they believe in bs like this. the climate is changing fast, that is indeed true, but also it changed before humanity. also, electric cars are made to be sold, not to save the world. electric cars are for garbage if some part of them stops working. Why should we throw away our diesel and petrol cars which last more longer and are more useful? Isn't this a paradox? Why just not find an alternative fuel that won't make pollution like now. Before the e-cars propaganda, every green group has been protesting against nuclear power plants, but now everybody is silent. nuclear power plants are needed to make e-cars drive. there are many problems besides these, but nobody talks about them. people in third world countries take noble (I don't know the english term) metals out from electric devices the west has thrown in their counties. It is very hypocritical. We should not produce too many goods and throw them away, but hey... some rich fuckers want profit. 14:37 it's a huge lie. E-cars are very expensive to maintain, and it forces you to buy electric parts. The electric energy will cost too much, when everybody decides to drive ev's

  • Disliking it just bcoz of the outro.

  • Finally, an honest video about climate change
