“Everybody that’s there for you ain’t there for you.” “Some people see you the same person as you were when you left.” Two powerful, truthful gems 💎 as some of us have and/or still experiencing this.
@Own Petard I experienced this first hand a few years back as I didn’t see it coming a lot earlier in life. It’s crazy that older adults get jealous of young peoples success. Sad!
Thank you for translating it to a form of English. But even still the words do not make a sentence that is any form of English that I was taught. But what you wrote is better than CS-tv CC. I am at a disadvantage in that my school never taught the language he is speaking. Maybe one day we will get a chance to learn and be fluent in this language. I am learning some things like “come up my house” actually means “come up ‘to’ my house” since this language seems to drop the prepositional word “to”, but I don’t know all the rules to this language. Is it taught somewhere? And how can we get it taught in our schools so our kids are not missing out? All they teach is English here.
Thank you for translating what he said to English. I honestly could not understand whatever language he was speaking and neither could CS-tv Closed Captioning. I wonder if they provide interpreters to players that are unable to understand people who speak this language. It’s not English that we were taught in school, but it sounds similar to it at times.
A corollary to “Everybody that’s there for you ain’t there for you.” is if you are a successful younger person, many older adults will be jealous of you for their children. You have done better than their children.
Especially me I’ll bail for the next best deal as fast as I am
What I love about this is that even though I can't relate to this culturally, (I'm a suburban white guy), it absolutely lands and resonates on a different level. I've been burned by a lot of people in my life. I wish I had learned the lesson, 'Everybody that’s there for you ain’t there for you' so much earlier in life. I wish I learned that when I was a teen. Understanding that would have saved me a lot of pain and heartache. And coming from a small town where nothing changes, it really is amazing how people assume I would never change from the old days. Learning that change is natural and good even if it's scary is something I am still trying to come to terms with. Prayers for Coach Prime and his coaches, and all the young men in the JSU locker room. I pray protection, peace that surpasses all understanding, and a revival of all the spirits in that locker room. I pray that these young men get absolutely wrecked by the love of our Father. I pray that this Christmas would be one where those young men encounter Jesus on a personal level. Praying all of this from Cleveland, Tennessee! Amen!
He prefaced the quote that “everyone that’s there for you, isn’t there, for you” with don’t walk around with all your gear on thinking your hot shiit(eg. bragging). In my interpretation of the quote, it is that the people who love and are there for you, aren’t there to shine the spotlight on you all day, they’re their own people with their own lives who don’t need to revel in someone else’s accomplishments and you should respect that. Idk your experience but that’s what I think he meant by the statement, not that “people who are there for you, aren’t always going to be there for you “.
If you have been burned by a lot of people and are moved by somebody like Deion, you have learned absolutely nothing.
Thanks for this, P.T. - great and uplifting XMAS msg. Congratulations on all of your personal success/hard work/attitude.
I love when Prime tells the parents of his recruits, "If you give me your son, I'm going to give you back a man." That right there is his key selling point. Go JSU!!!
Will be potty train them like he did at JSU, then brag on social media?
Bobby Bowden influence right here
@J D When teenagers are around Deion for 30 plus hours a week like college football, he still has a massive influence and he knows that.
@Dances_with_Myself that’s one of the major problems in society today, IMO. Kids need strong parenting.. Don’t rely on anyone else to raise your kid but certainly it’s great to have teachers and coaches to enforce good values, I don’t disagree.
Mad respect. A talk I never had with any male role model in my life. Cannot help but to love this man.
I actually like that if they’re late they’re off the team. It’s a clear message. If I can’t trust you with a little thing like being on time then how can I trust you with anything else.
This dude is unbelievable. He and I basically in the same age range. His transformation from Florida state, through the atl pipeline (falcons and braves), cowboys, and Baltimore. NFL network, and other television gigs, he has shown nothing but growth and gratitude. Now he's passing it on to our youth, and adults as well. Inspiration can come in many forms, but primes is most effective for men like me, who have been like him, when he was simply Deon.
Always loved Deion even when he was shutting down my NY Giants wide receivers back in the day or returning punts for touchdowns on MNF against the Giants. Seeing him now having success as a coach & holding everyone on the team accountable for their actions makes me like & respect him even more.
This is not only coaching, it’s mentoring and love.
Agreed
means so much more to their team(s). When head coaches have played at a very high level.
Wich is what good coaching is…
@Louis RecycleItAll i mean we shouldnt be surprised. it is prime time.
And yet Dabo gets clowned on for the same thing
He's speaking from 100% experience. He's lost friends, lost family, and is one of the greatest NFL players of all time. I pray these kids listen to his words. Replay this video every day until it clicks. Trust me, it will.
Deon, man, Sir, I honestly can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for the honor of HBCUs. I went to one and I love it to death! You are something special. Keep that high level of energy our young leaders. I do the same thing in my classroom with us. They love me and I love them. I share your spirit with my class introducing College to them. Thanks.
His coaching is PHENOMENAL. (Not just football, but everythinghe teaches along with it.)
😂😂
he's not just coaching, he's teaching life, step by step!
Coach is teaching these men excellence! I love how he’s building them up on this journey. Whether you enter the NFL or not, you’re still a man of worth. Keep them balanced Coach!
hes been "coach" for all of 15 minutes lol
@J. Parrish nobody will dare be late…. They want to be back on time bc they want to play for him… it takes a certain kind of coach
Hun brah…. You are all worth something and everyone of these young men are making plays when their number is called…. It’s kind of like he made a whole team of mini-me’s or a whole team of primes
Excellence!!
I love that..."still a man of worth, even if you don't go pro" because you won't believe how many guys don't see value in themselves outside of the sport they play!!!
Coaching! Mentoring! Parenting! Encouraging! Discipline! Other coaches' programs will be better in this aspect because of Coach Prime's teachings to his team. No matter what anyone says, they are/will incorporate his ways BECAUSE THEY'RE SURE WATCHING! Many continued blessings and success to team and coaches❤️🙏🏽
Damn! This really hit me hard. It’s like he saying everything that is going on in my life at this exact moment! Legend!
I used to not like Him when he played NFL, but after watching what he does, how he talks, and how he mentors others. I was way wrong. I wish we had more people like him!
Coach, I just appreciate your message to the athletes and your staff. Just think, you are in their lives for just a short length of time but your words will be with a lifetime.
Man! Coach is the real deal! Explaining to these young men that they have a chance to change their life and their families life in positive ways but then telling them you best be respectful to this team and be here. Gotta love him
I love how he holds everyone accountable even the coaches
@Ty Scrollz THEIR classroom. There is a location ie over there.
@Same stuff different day He said no slides IN THE CLASSROOM.
I’m really happy for these young men. The leadership, the discipline, and life lessons that Deion brings… you can’t put a price on that.
"She big as a house" - i mean he should probably not repeat that in this day and age. otherwise, good stuff. just sayin
The history books will exalt this man. Not just because of his football accomplishments but his impact as a community leader. This is rare and real one. We need more Deion like guys in our community 💯
Motivation! Plus kindness, concern, care and LOVE for his players and coaches. He HAD me fire up for practice!
Can’t get enough of neon Deion as a coach, love this guys entire being.
God bless this man. He truly loves and cares about these young men. His teachings on life are like a father to a son. It's on another level from anything I've ever experienced or witnessed in athletics. It's no wonder they are doing so well. Keep em' focused and tight coach ! Great job coach.
I love these gems...."everyone is not for you, not even your family.....some people see you as you were before".....Powerful. Coach Prime is a Great Man of God!
@Shaun D I agree. Well said
He do just like the military do...give his Soldiers a safety briefing before each weekend or holiday. I learned, it's always better to be 15 min early than 1 minute late .
@C Montes he didn’t mention religion, he mentioned God.
@RobinLHoward023 💯
@JSU Tigers Exactly, Coach Prime always keeps God, prayer, and divine favor in all of his messages to his team, coaches, and even the media. That is why I respect him.
I went through some challenges and struggles in twenties. I truly believe I was able to overcome this because I played football Ron age 8 through college. It really teaches you a lot about life and how to be respectful, work hard, and always believe in yourself.
Deion is such a blessing to JSU and the entire black community, the HBCU, and the world. he is world known for his contributions anyway. When you are at the top of your career or any phase of your life, you become an easy target for those with an evil heart to try and bring down. And it is definitely crowded at the bottom
Nicely done! Someone teaching young people about ACCOUNTABILITY, starting from the coaching staff. 💪 🏈
My old man was like this man as far as the being late. The time involved isn’t the point, it’s respect for whoever you made plans with. Those who are always late are telling you that their time is more valuable then yours, not respect.
Easily the best coach in college football. He's building men and players at a pace unseen before. Many of these players have never had a father and he's happy to represent that role.
Not only is he speaking to his players but this is a WORLDWIDE MESSAGE that we can all listen too
Speak 4 yourself not me.
The African American Vernacular English(AAVE). Is great
Thank You Coach.
💯💯💯
This man ALWAYS needs to be protected! What a guy an we love this guy.
a great man, a great coach, and a great mentor
Absolutely to see where Coach Prime is right now. He brings tears to my eyes. He is a true leader. He hasn’t always been this way. God speaks through Deion. His athletic accomplishments pale in comparison to his leadership. He is a true Godsend to his people.
Very wise words for any young man, to know and live by. Thank you Coach!
He impresses me more and more every time I hear him talk to these youngsters…. That ish he said about always knowing he was the “man” is real. When you are on a team and you are the common denominator on each team that is vying for championship at every level, you can safely say you are the man and that’s what he meant. It’s not cocky it’s a swag , especially primes swag, cannot be duplicated
As a 25+ year retiree from the auto ins claim industry, excellent advice on driving & good life lessons on the other advice. Coach Sanders very well may have saved one of these mens lives. Great job w/these vlogs as always,Bucky❤️! Happy Thanksgiving❤️🍁🦃,Everyone!
Yes!!! Exactly!!! Happy Thanksgiving🫶🏽
I wish I had someone to tell me this when I was a FRESHMAN in college trying to achieve success at FAMU playing Baseball. It was different when I came home for the Winter Break. Great speech and message Coach Prime.
This put Coach Sanders in a whole new light. Love that he kept it 100% real! We need more of this in the world we live in.
A great message not just for young adults, but for middle to older adults too- be on time.👏
As black man myself, I can y'all that the brothers are truly listening to these words of wisdom. The respect the players have for him is extremely high.
Yeah, I'm sure none of his words were directed at the white players. The audacity of them being on the team stinks to high heaven.
His message is universal! I was a white division I athlete and his message resonated with me. His message is one of love and respect. He wants what is best for those young men and they know it.
Amen brother. These boys are lucky. Prime is the man.
My,my,my.....Agree. 🧚😇🙏🙏
Having father figures like DS in your life is so crucial, God Bless him and his efforts.
"Everybody in your family don't love you." Damn, that hit deep.
It's truth
Truth personified!
Don’t get caught on the way home with drugs or alcohol. Man he definitely keeping it real with them knowing that they’re gonna do stuff as college kids. Emphasized don’t get caught. 💯
💯
No truer words have been spoken…
I remember in 1992 crying because someone on my 6 and under football team got number 21 and I thought I couldn’t be like Deion my role model flash forward 30 years I’m a father myself and this guy is still my role model Prime Time the fucking GOAT on and off the field ❤️✌️
@William Anderson 6 year olds cry sometimes, you arent one of those terrible parents that think children should never cry are you?
You can get 21 for your burnt out softball team.
🤡
You cried because someone got your number? Hum ok
Coach Prime would not be pleased with you using the F word to compliment him. Be like Coach Prime. You will be a better man for it.
When he was in Atlanta and playing pro football and baseball, he was something to see. An amazing athlete as well as an amazing man.
So glad you share this. Coach Prime is very inspiring and expects respect. Teaching these men to excell in not just football
Love his message! Keep your people safe!
Makes me want to get back into coaching. There is so much goodness in mentoring our youth.
The more I hear this guy the more respect I have for him.
I pray God continues to bless Deion!!! I’m just left speechless, because He even motivates me in this Season!!!
Me as well.
He is also wise man.
Ms lady It’s Coach Prime aka Deion
💯👍🏾
Facts!!
Amazing man. He's still getting better. Let that sink in. Very inspiring.
A lot of people dont realize that coaches arent just trying to make players excel at their sport at this level, theyre also trying to show you through their wisdom and experience how to transition from a boy to a man respectfully, and to respect others and life. Prime is an amazing coach, mentor, role model, and Father!
More and more respect for Deion every time I hear him speak. Speaks with wisdom, great knowledge and sincerity.
I truly enjoy hearing this as he has established criteria that applies to everyone. These young men are privileged to be under such a mentor.
Wow. Mind blown, what a great dude. This guy could coach anywhere
The Messages from Coach Prime are such a blessing. I come to this page daily to hear encouragement. The people in his presence are so lucky and blessed to be there REAL-TIME 🙏🏾
Man the more I listen to Deion take the more I wish I could have had this type of man as a coach growing up.
I had a coach similar to him. Love his brutal honesty with me on how I practice and played.
This makes you feel as if you play football!!! Great words.
Prime is doing more good than anyone can dream of. He is changing lives and raising men. I hope he stays at Jackson State and continues to offer his wisdom and knowledge to these up and coming young men. Rooting for him. More than a coach, a mentor.
Deion Sanders is the real deal. He takes care of his own in a way that has never been done before. He speaks in truth and in such a sincere way that his players will leave everything on the field every game. This is only a drop in the bucket in his coaching career as he will turn young men into great men.
That last part where he said you can talk to God in your way? Maaaan that spoke to my soul! I used to think the same way! That I had to talk to God like I was a pastor or a evangelist and I would be super nervous to pray in front of people because I felt my prayers had to be polished and refined but then I realized God hears me as ME! I can just talk to God and praise him without feeling fear.
My Papaw was a fire and brimstone preacher. I was raised in the thee's and thou's prayer mindset and taught not to step out of line or God would smack me down. It wasn't until my mid-teens that I really came to terms and felt the true love of God. I was a suicidally depressed teenager with no friends in school when I went to this youth group camping retreat. I had been a part of the group for a few months and was slowly opening up. The camping trip was the first time I prayed, really prayed, in public. I remember starting out the prayer being so nervous that I actually started the prayer with "Um, hi there God, how's it going up there?" People laughed but it wasn't like they were laughing AT me if that makes sense? That was the first time I felt really accepted in a church group. At my papaw's church, I was always the pastor's grandkid. People would be kind to me to get on his good side, and I felt like I had to act all pious to not let him down. Learning that something as simple as a 'hi God' is not just acceptable, but that He loves it as much as he loves a super pious sounding prayer really opened my heart to receive Him in a way I never thought was possible. Sorry if I overshared. I just really resonated with your post!
I had one coach that I respected so much that his effect on me was that today as an older man I would hit any wall he told he to. These young guys will love and respect him all their lives.
This is so true. Even most of your friends, don’t really want to succeed in life. A few special ones do, but it is rare. When I went thru my divorce, that’s when the losers shower their true colors. Same as when I passed my journeyman electrical license, most wanted me to fail the test.
Love the message to these young Men. Coach Prime I would guess is not the only coach doing this, but it's good to see some good pub being put out and the positives of sports
He is telling a lot of truth and giving life lessons at the same time. Some of these young men have an absent father and he is not filling the role ...cause he can't always be there but they are better for having him as their coach. Professions are given to Belivers as more than a career or paycheck but as a life-calling vocation to represent and give the glory to TMH in whatever position they occupy. Big respect to Coach Deion.
Deion is about to find out how hard coaching really is.
What a privilege it is to listen to Coach Prime. Talk about "progressed?" Deion 'Coach Prime' Sanders went from being one of the all-time great players in the sport's history, to being a great coach, and, as we see here, a great man. And the young men (and the entire Jackson State University students, administration, staff) going through the first-hand experience of Coach Prime are being given something far, far more important than a big contract. Smartest thing Travis Hunter did in his life was choosing JSU. What a young man... and a player.
"Everybody that's there for you ain't there for you." Best succinct statement I have heard to warn to be beware of backstabbers. Then he warns that even members of your own family may be against you. So totally true!
Dropping truth! Thanks Prime love you for it! Keep teaching and preaching to our youth
Prime is doing a terrific job with these young men. I've been a fan since he was at Florida. Good on him!
So glad he came to coach these young men. He’s not just coaching then he’s preparing these young men for life.
" Everybody in your family dont love you" I mean bro if I had Deon as a mentor my life would be so different. Golden wisdom is priceless because am telling you the more older you get your circle gets smaller in regards to friends & family. Love only the people who matter and are always there for you to support you with their actions. Love, peace & life longevity!
This is why I admire him.. his insight & wisdom on life is sooo on point & how God uses him is just beautiful & how Deion is holding players & coaches accountable..Lord this is 1 extra thing that I will be thankful for this Thanksgiving to see this man do your work on a high level.. Deion's love & compassion for your children is touching 🙏💪❤️
@Richard Furlott thats because you are ideal worshiper i heard speeches from coaches that are motivators not one that say your not important. thats is about the worst coach speech i have ever heard. it work in jv where he came from but not in power 5
Coach Dion is a whole lot more ten a coach ; wow ! As an ole guy I have not seen anyone like him ! Write a self-help book when you can !
@shawn It has nothing to do with him being a NFL star.. I know a good person when I see one& he's a man of God that been nothing but a blessing to other's.. I don't get caught up or moved by all this fame stuff.. my father was a R&B singer & has been around stars like 2Pac to the O'Jays.. my father wasn't well known but he's been around the biggest stars in the 90's
you worship him because he was an nfl star
VERY WELL SAID! 😢
Coach that was just awe inspiring. Care for the game care for the people showing the love and instilling trust. Discipline, accountability and the results if you don't. Reminds me of my military days . Spirituality love of God and it's importance. I would not to play for anyone else. Some coaches should see this as best practices and follow it. Maybe they would be 11-0 as well. I think your guys know it and respect you. Wow!!
Thank You for teaching young men and those around you how to pray. ❤ ♥️🙏🏼
@Truth Detector All he said was the players should pray. Then he told them to speak to God as they would anyone else. He didn't do a prayer himself. I don't have a problem with that.
@The Not so sure you would be as happy if you actually heard the prayer......
Hearing him tell these young men to pray instantly made him my favorite college coach. Great message all the way through his speech then that was the cherry on top. I will now be rooting for his team every change I get.
This is real talk! Jealousy and lack of vision can hold back some of your peers and your elders. Listen to your intuition (God’s voice) and be ok with separation in certain moments. Traveling mercies to you all. 🐍🧡
what a great message to continue to make your players men and to teach them what is expected from men and how to achieve success. Nice job coach
Best coach I've ever seen mentor his players and gives them wisdom
I pray for the team and staff, that you guys will go home have a lovely Thanksgiving with friends and family and return to campus safely and on time. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I also pray for those who are unable for what ever reason to be with their family for Thanksgiving. I know Coach Prime have plans for you...thanks Coach and guys do enjoy and be grateful for the opportunity. Happy Thanksgiving all and God bless. Deion Jr. you are doing an awesome job with these vlogs and I am enjoying them and I do not know America football. Great job youngman.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This man is just amazing, what a roll hero
What a great mentor. I'd wish him luck at Colorado, but since he doesn't count on luck, I'll just wish him well.
He is truly trying to help his team. #respect
Love this dude. Wish we had 10 of him in every city
Thats why i lu. Dion the dude is such a great father figure and role model as a coach he could coach in NFL and i can see him winning a super bowl no matter what team he coached and what he is teaching the kids about life and football and how to become matured young great men . Great Job Dion mr Prime Time!!
Sounds like a father who loves his kids and fellow coaches‼️
That part.
Well sugar, this is good stuff. This is what these gentlemen need. Well done DS!
Love what he said……. Everybody is not for you. Family, friends, the homies are jealous of who God is molding you to be. Love that they pray together 🙏🏽 Thank you Coach Prime and coaches for being father figures to those young men. THEE I LOVE all my life Class of 2006🎓
Deion is constantly teaching and dropping jewels on these young people
He has been nothing but spectacular for the kids and the HBCU. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Coach as a real father figure. Dispensing love and wisdom.
He Truly keeps it Real with his Players, covering all Basis of life. It reminds me of when I served in the Military 🪖 and our Leadership would give us a talking every weekend to be safe.
He reminded me of my First Sargeant back when I was in the Army...
Man do I miss those Days! 🫡
I remember those talks early 80's Ft. Campbell Ky.
@Swank No Swank LOL, Great advice! 🤣
Facts, Safety Brief every Friday….Don’t drink and drive, don’t hit your wife, and your wife’s friend asks you to hit it….SAY NO!!!!
This man is God sent and I know all these young men are going to look back years from now and realize that and the other coaches too God Bless Jackson State
How can you not love this man
I needed this in my life as a young man
I just said a prayer of Thanksgiving for Deion Sanders. These young men are so fortunate to have him in their lives.
Always enjoy his life sermons!
My worst enemies was family. Sad but true. Listen to coach on that one and be safe.
Likewise! Immediate family at that
@Mikelle Hicks FRFR!!
Yea.. I’m cool tho.. I’m glad I actually found out how they truly feel about me..
Facts!
Mine's too. Sadly, mine's too.
Nice to see him holding his team accountable. Something that is disappearing these days.
more people should hear more of this. preach brother dion
The realist sh*t ever "everybody there for you ain't there for you." Haters gonna hate and it's always those close to you. You ain't supposed to be nothing, but you're succeeding. Hits home on so many levels.
