Honestly the match up I always wanted was Deku vs Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, I think them as a match up would be super interesting cause of all their similarities Both are superheroes while actively attending a prestigious school Both grew up with their predecessors being active heroes until tragedy leads them to needing these young teenagers to take their place Both are successors to heroes with red and blue in their costumes and they share the same powers as their predecessors and some extra abilities unique to them Both got their powers through not just unconventional means but through the same way their predecessors got their powers Both struggle under the weight of living up to and surpassing their predecessors Both have costumes that were inspired by their predecessors Both have enhanced superhuman abilities like strength, speed, and durability Both have a danger sense, grappling ability , and ability to disappear/mask their location in their arsenals Lots of similarities and I think it would be a pretty fun and interesting fight

I know he copied Froppy’s style by making the Blackwhip come from his mouth, but could that mean that he could make it come from his elbow like Cellophane? And Float + Blackwhip + Shoot Style could be used to copy Uravity’s style How many combos do you think he’d be able to pull off?
I still want Deku vs Gon and Asta vs Meliodas to happen. Even though Deku has more connections to Asta rather than Gon, I dont remember seeing very many (if at all) requests for Deku vs Gon.

Deku wins every category except skill. His strength, durability, speed, and abilities are all above Gon. Even if we scale him to Netero and Meruem he still loses. Badly. The time to do this battle was years ago but now Deku blows him out the water

@SpongeGod-Omnipants A battle being a stomp for one character hasn't stopped them from making some battles. There's a whole video by The Rappter, I think, of Death Battles that are stomps according to Death Battles own analysis.

The funny thing is. Liam actually could have formed a good argument for Gon being light speed based off the panel of Merum flashing his En. He instantly finds out the location of several people in that moment and grabs all of them, while also returning to his original spot before anyone noticed. That's post-rose bomb tho so Gon more than likely doesn't scale to that

@JC it’s stated in chapter 308. 4 people reacted to Meruem’s lightspeed En and Meruem speed blitzed 2 of them.
@Java 1.1 seems to be the only LS feat in the series, but even if Liam used it feels like a little flimsy of a feat to be used for an argument
@JC I wouldn’t say that’s the only LS feat. There’s multiple instances of characters moving so fast that time slows down or basically stops (mainly between Netero and Meruem who Gon can be scaled to) which following the theory of relativity would be a relativistic to lightspeed feat. It’s also worth noting that these are lowballs since the full extent of their speeds haven’t been revealed yet.
Deku vs Asta was fantastic but I would have liked to see Deku vs Rock Lee more especially if they were going to reference Mighty in Strongest Alive.
It would definitely be interesting to hear as to wether or not Deku’s speed would let him outlast Rock Lee like Sanji did (given that FTL Deku is still somewhat new)
And you forgot he fought reflect a guy who can send your own attacks every time you hit him and deku keeps on fighting a does not give up even while losing a lot of blood and getting hit by lazears and he evidently defeats him by doing a jojo punch or a luffy gum gum punch and he didn't just beat him he broke his power

Including Deku's finishing move exclusive for the World Heroes' Mission Movie, The United States Of World Smash, which was able to break through Flect Turn's Reflect Quirk and defeated him.

Meruem Vs Kars isn't that big of a stomp too. Kars just has speed and some decent hax-win cons Vs Meruem who has the raw power and durability + some counters to his haxs, as well as some of his own.

While, Deku Vs Asta is more thematic than the others, so I'm not sure if others like Deku Vs Gon or Asta vs Meliodas would fit.

So adult gon may be strong, but it doesn't make him smart. He gets too caught up in his emotions, and even though he's miles above Pitou in their fight, he still takes damage. Deku would see this weakness and better dodge Gon because while he may be stronger he wouldn't have a idea how to counter Deku efficiently
If you don’t think gon is smart you 100% know nothing of the manga.
You need to watch the show, Gon is smart and he has the typical Shonen MC mentality of thinking outside the box up until a certain arc where he shows how dangerous and deadly he can be

Some guy at the end listed how Gon could counter all of Deku's abilities. Let me explain why these 'counters' won't work. 1. The counter to float was just stupid. Gon jumping can't match Deku's mobility in any way, shape, or form. 2. He really said that he could cut the whips with Jan Ken scissors even though the whips have canonically never been broken and Gon hasn't shown nearly enough AP to do something like that. And he really compared a FISHING ROD to energy tendrils that can even be upgraded by fa jin. Pffft, ok 😂. 3. It's funny how he brings up Gon's damage reduction as a counter but doesn't mention Deku's ability to absorb any kinetic energy that comes in contact with his body. And Gon's damage reduction isn't even that potent, since Chimera Ants were still able to hurt him when he had it. 4. I love how he said that Gon's sense of smell would help despite the fact that all he would smell is, y'know, smoke? The point about seeing Deku's life energy is valid though. 5. He really said Gon can counter danger sense by hiding his presence? The main reason that wouldn't work is that people are sensed based on intention, so he'd get caught anyway. 5. He brought up no counter for Gear Shift 😂. Gon has no counter for that at all 💀.
Unfortunately for number 2. Statement is true since back at the beginning of the 2nd war arc. We see toga cut black whip with just a knife.
@Yaki blake Toga never actually cut it. Deku just pulled the same move he did on Sero and just undid the black whip. And if Toga could cut them it'd be extremely inconsistent since Shigiraki couldn't break out of the weaker whips of pre-vigilante arc Deku.
It took me an embarrassing amount of time (almost ten minutes) to realize Liam was completely bullshitting the whole thing.
31:32 if Gon literally got all the power he will ever have and it’s the equivalent of him charging up a jajanken for his whole life then WHY did adult gohan need to charge a jajanken when he finished off Pitou? Obviously he has a limited nen pool and an even smaller pool that he can actually use at any one time. jajanken’s are him drawing from that larger overall pool to make what is available in his hand bigger. He can not just charge it however long he wants because he would eventually hit a wall and pass out. “All the nen he will ever have” is really making both pool’s as big as they’ll ever be, and not giving him every single days pool at once… …but even if we humored you and said he was getting every single day’s worth of nen all at once, it still gets divided into small pool/big pool which is why he still needs to use a jajanken to bring it out. If this wasn’t true, all of his normal punches would automatically be jajanken’s, you understand? He wouldn’t need to charge. In fact, there would be nothing left to charge…get it? With that said, the reason we know he’s not getting every single day is because it talks about the way the goal he wanted was achieved was by forcibly accelerating his growth. In other words….putting him into his prime without him having to work for it. It’s even stated “this is what he would have become if he didn’t stop here” or something to that effect by Pitou. She certainly wouldn’t have meant “if he got everything at once he would’ve been as strong as the king” But simply “if he had actually reached his prime…”
When will death battle do deku vs gon. I would really like to see the animation, battle music, character design and more. It’s just that it’s been a request for so long and I just want to see death battle do it. I like hunter x hunter and my hero academia it would be amazing see my two favorite protagonists go head to head in death battle.

@Eddie Boston without doing any calcs I would instinctively say that Yusuke is stronger and faster, but ichigo has all the hax. Would be a great fight fo sho. And I know that Yusuke outclasses Meliodas, but I think it would be a fun matchup of demon boys.
If you're gonna consider Hxh mus in the future. My few suggestions would be Killua vs Zenitsu Meruem vs Kars Hisoka vs Gambit Gon is the one I'm not sure who to pit but I expect we'll get the one from dbx wc is kid goku.

It's possible but combine that it's a stomp alongside the fact that they already did a Deku fight with a similar character dynamic already I don't think it would be a good idea to do that I think the ideal returning choice for Deku would be Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel since it would be a fight that focuses on Deku being a superhero fanboy, and I'm saying this as someone who thinks Gon was a better choice for Deku than Asta but it's pretty clear that Death Battle isn't really enthused about the matchup. As for who Gon could fight I'd say his most likely opponents would be Boruto or Kid Goku which I'm aware are bigger stomps than Deku vs Gon (depending on whether you believe Boruto scales to higher Naruto stuff or not and even then, the longer they take to do this matchup the higher in power Boruto will get.) but they keep mentioning Kid Goku as possible opponent for Gon and the DBX did well.
If they do Asta vs Meliodas in a future podcast then they’re basically trolling us.

I mean, technically Gon does win though, because he would be emitting some of the most powerful ren in the series if he was adult Gon. This would basically mean that Deku would die just by being in the presence of adult Gon, due to the fact that he would have no way of resisting ren as he isn't a nen user. Adult Gon's ren was enough to terrify Pitou, who herself has an insane level of ren, and he should scale to Meruem, who's ren was so powerful after seeing Komugi get hurt that it made Netero scared. This means that Deku would start the fight and basically just die, like Gon and Killua would have died if they stayed in Hisoka's ren too long in the Heavens arena arc. Tldr: Deku is definitely far stronger than Gon physically, but he would just straight up die via being in his presence because he lacks a way to resist ren.

What are they equalising? Deku doesn't get nen, as MHA doesn't have anything similar to nen. Nen is psychic in nature, while MHA abilities are biological. The same way Asta couldn't nullify quirks, Deku doesn't suddenly become immune to ren.
@Echo Awakens spiritual pressure in bleach doesnt neutralize someone, logia effects don’t make the logia user invincible to physical attacks, and not having nen doesn’t mean automatic W for the nen user. it basically makes it so characters from different verses can still fight other characters without some sort of system making it unfair
@woah Yes, but that isn't applied in Death Battles. Maybe if a concept is similar, like equalising mana to chakra, yet you can't equalise nen to anything in MHA, the only way ren doesn't kill Deku is if you say he resists it for literally no reason ever shown in MHA. Ren is an important part of Hxh, and is utilised in many scenes, removing it is literally removing part of Gon's arsenal, since it is very important as its the only reason Pitou didn't kill him while he was transforming into Adult Gon was due to being too scared of his ren. You can't take away ren without restricting Gon as a character, it isn't verse equalization as not everyone in Hxh resists ren, most people don't. It would literally just be as if Deku was a non nen user in the Hxh world with his own biological super powers, which would not give him any resistance to ren.
@Echo Awakens death battles isn’t a good source of determining who wins because of that exact reason, plus they don’t know how to scale right. second, it’s not taking away nen, gon would still be able to transform and use his skills, it’s just that his nen wouldn’t make deku scared and neutralize him. It doesn’t matter if not everyone can resist nen, since logia users are also affected by verse equalization and that logic doesn’t work. deku still slams

I don't know why you were bringing up feats that characters didn't do for Gon. If you were going to bring up feats, it's simple: His adult form is stronger than Meruem. Provide feats confirmed for Meruem, like in his fight and the feats of the guy he is fighting on par with(forgot the name). Like how fast he can act with a strike. Should have used that as reference.
His adult form is only AS strong as regular meruem

HOWEVER, you bring up a good point: that's compared to what Pitou knew about Meruem before the rose bomb. And despite the poison, Meruem did technically get stronger after the rose bomb.

I’m still watching through here, but Liam’s argument for adult Gon is based on far too many assumptions. A) As he himself points out, he’s only that powerful because he makes the contract specifically against his arch enemy up to that point: Neferpitou. B) We have no idea how long Gon is going to live, and 80 feels pretty generous for their universe. C) Killua isn’t stated to actually be light speed in that part, he’s actually countering that point by saying he knew where he was going to be hit, so he was prepared for it ahead of time rather than reacting from zero knowledge in that moment. D) There’s no direct comparison that I know of from Killua’s speed in that moment to Gon’s speed later.

Currently watching and they are trying to disprove Liam argument about the size of monsters in the dark continent. I paused the vid right now to write this comment. Liam is right the monsters are that big. At the end of the hunter anime gon and his dad climb this tall ass tree that basically goes way above the clouds. That tree stated by gons dad ging comes from the dark continent and is just a baby tree meaning it is jot even close to being full grown Imagine a sappling of a tree growing above the cloud lines and how tall and adult tree could be. The monsters in the dark continent are definitely continent size if not planet size

Deku can destroy a hurricane. How many nukes did they theorize it would take to nuke a hurricane? Like couple hundred (not taking into account the fallout, hypothetical) but hundreds. An that's at dekus 100% at the time which equated to ONLY 20% of the power of True One for All. He is NOW at 45% of True 100, which is almights Prime..... which means deku is STILL NOT AT MAX POTENTIAL, an can still punch out a Hurricane. Which would destroy gons.
I mean, if you _really_ want to highball HxH and don't care about how silly you sound you can start with the reasonable argument that Gon is *creating matter* while making that half-full glass of water overflow clear back in their very first "figure out what type of nen user you are" exercises and then try to quantify how much more powerful they get as the series progresses. if you work from the assumption that what you see is what you get and he is creating matter then this would honestly be by far the most precise number you can give for any use of nen in the series: we get a good gauge on both volume of water created and how much time it was done in but unfortunately the result you get is out of whack with the power scaling of the rest of the series by a truly absurd margin: Gon would be capable of blowing up planets even before his fight with the guy who throws tops at him, let alone later in the series. on the other hand if you're actually trying to scale them in a way that makes sense then the closest you can get to a nen=physics situation is (weirdly enough) clear at the end of the chimaera ant arc: we know that the rapid fire attacks from Netero hit slightly less hard than a small nuke, it ain't perfect but that and a lot of math will get you a guestimate somewhere within a couple zeros of correct...though even that was arguably nen-infused by both netero and probably the craftsman who made it. every other time you see nen acting on a purely physical object it is either both wayyyyyyyyy at the low end of the spectrum and being used as a demonstration not in any way seriously or it is the wasted energy in interactions between nen users. interactions in which projecting energy in a less focused manner than your opponent is a near certain death sentence.

@MechLord107 During his fight with Meruem Netero is juuuuust barely passing the threshhold where he is able to overcome the baseline energy input density requirement to begin damaging the material of Meruem's body, the nuke that hits Meruem a few seconds later is that and then enough more to actually cause significant damage, these two numbers are clearly not the same as eachother but they are in the same ballpark and they relate to eachother in a way that you can actually make some reasonable derivative assumptions off of them and math your way into a rough guess with enough effort. it's still nowhere near perfect but that really is the closest thing you get to an example of how hard Nen is hitting things in relationship to normal physics. it's also the only example that translates into ballpark guesses for anything _else_ that make a shred of sense: everything else you can even pretend works as a starting point gets you either waaaaaay to many zeros to the point where characters that appear to be somewhere in the city-block power output zone and casually-catch-a-bullet speed zone calc to comfortably popping planets ("filling the cup" from my other comment is probably the best example of that nonsense) or clearly to _few_ zeros to the point where the strongest characters in the series wouldn't be able to do things that the main cast can do _before they learn to use nen_ and even random run of the mill extras who don't even get the privilege of having their names shown are shown pulling off casually later in the series.
@MechLord107 ps: if you're saying that because you feel the need to favor one series over the other don't worry, Deku hits *_FAR_* harder than a miniaturized dirty bomb small enough to implant in a shrunken old man's chest even if you lowball as hard as you can go.

I think Emmet vs. steve is better than Emmet vs. Jesse. Really because why would death battle put Jesse from minecraft story mode before steve and I think steve vs Emmet is a legacy match.
Death Battle has done episodes with using other characters from a franchise before it’s main ones. And I don’t recall Emmet vs Steve being a legacy. I think it was only being talked about when it was revealed as an idea in the Championship Polls late last year.
@Plus Ultra! no steve and Emmet was very popular match up back then and why get a character from a one-off game a lot of people forgot when the main minecraft game exist. It's like using a paper mario character before using Mario
@chris Because Steve Vs Terrerian exists, with it being a much bigger legacy MU in comparison. Also Emmet Vs Steve kinda just existed as an Alt for Steve, less so a big legacy MU. With Emmet Vs Jessie (and even Guy) being a generallly more popular MU for Emmet.

That’s impossible.” Killua responds “it would be (impossible) if I didn’t know where it was going…” and then literally explains that it was only because he knew exactly where this dart was going to hit that he could catch it (think of it in the same being a precog can make your reflexes seem faster) Not only does Killua flat out say with that statement that he COULD NOT have caught it otherwise…. But the entire fight before that point (where he was getting hit all over) proves it. If he truly had light speed reflexes the guy said were needed, he would’ve caught all the darts, not just the last one. And you didn’t bother to crop out the part that disproves your theory. It’s right there!!!!!

The problem is he can use his full power while dealing with his arch enemy at that time(Netferpitou) who killed someone close to him. Gon wouldn't be able to unlock this power in fight against some random stranger. Besides Deku showed much greater feats
