Not a good look for GM right now 🤔 However, how do you 'car guys' know nothing about 'cars?' lol Not knowing your fluids & not searching for the leak is absurd.
To clear the gap, you could use a flat sheet of metal designed to bridge gaps like that. They are commonly used when unloading trailers onto loading docks at stores.
to put the corvette into neutral, you have to hold the power button for like 5 seconds without pressing the brake then it'll send power to the car without turning the vehicle on
@@pleaseentername.192 not sure it would help. my brain is saying without fluid even neutral would be bad news for the tranny, im not the best mechanic, but it seems like metal on metal, no lube, is bad news bears

From reading the comments apparently all the car enthusiasts on here aren't car enthusiasts. Because it seems alot of you dont know dick about vehichles. The took is soooo much harder to get and not an options when you order the car. I don't know anyone that owns a Newer corvette that has the tool. Too much for a maybe just in case it breaks to not start the car and put in neutral. But this looks more like oil as the trans fluid is pretty red in color.
Incredibly mind-boggling how such expensive supercars can always break so easily, especially brand new. This video emphasizes the fact that manual transmissions are always the best option.
Push and hold the start button for a few more seconds with your foot off the brake. It should put you in accessory mode. That might get you into neutral.
Right? I did one quick google and I was given simple instructions how to override park with the engine off .... This must be different or just does not work on the Z06 variant... Although I'm not sure about James, I have faith that Tim would have had the smarts to at least look it up and try the C8 "Engine Off Neutral override" sequence.
Check the fluids via dipsticks. Add which ever is needed and get it moved. It will leak slowly enough you can drive it a bit. Like a tire with a slow leak.
Not sure if this has ever been mentioned yet, however, were/are there thoughts/plans to epoxy the garage floors? In addition to adding longevity and beauty, it would definitely help clean-up of all spills such as these!
I love shmee and strad episodes two of the most positive and cheerful personalities in yt auto. Strad have you been to the garage grill yet with all the nice cars up on lifts and you eat dinner below them? Would make for some fun content if they would allow you to film there.
All you have to do is hold the engine start button for about 10 seconds and gets into tech mode which allows you to put it in neutral with any gm vehicle
Try to press and hold the start button for about 10 seconds (without touching the brake), that should turn that led on the start button to green. That might allow you to change the transmission position
Now you know you need at least 5 or 6 sets of these wheel dollies. Especially if you're going to fill the bat cave with all the cars. Which is exactly what I would do!
Same type of thing happened to me, but it was radiator fluid. I just filled it up, took off to the shop, knowing I'd lose most of it, but got there safely for them to replace the radiator. You could do the same, however, I think that's motor oil. You just need enough to get it out of the Bat Cave. Good luck.
Hey Stradman…Love the channel..Sorry to see this..The transmission and trans axle usually are separate..honestly fluid spread and it makes it looks like alot.I would jack it up safely and take the cover off and see if it is the transmission or transaxle..you should be able to see the leak and have more of idea …I wouldn’t be surprised it’s and axle seal..
I'm sure you will have some guys tell you already but if there's no trans fluid (Like completely empty) the car won't even be able to get into gear. but if there's a little left then it may be able to get into gear but it will likely eat up the clutches or the gears. but awesome video again strad!
if you hold the start button for a few seconds WITHOUT having your foot on the brake it should turn the car into the run position which then you should be able to put into neutral
Idk if it’s the same on the C8 but typically all newer chevys what you do is just hold the start button until it goes into accessory mode (5-10 seconds) (don’t press brake)
Hopefully they do but if you watched his video when he was racing it when it just hit 500 miles that will probably void his warranty but it’s Stradman so hopefully they say f it and just fix it..
@@kalvin9861 they could def void his warranty for that. They have a mileage it has to hit before raced/tracked without voiding the warranty. (I think it's 1500 miles)
If you hold the start stop for 5 seconds without the brakes on it should turn on accessory mode and it might let you go into neutral then. Try it out and see if that works.
If you still need it out. Take the front wheels off the dolleys and roll the front wheels onto the lift. Obviously the back wheels wont move cause its not in neutral so maybe youll have to make a small ramp for the rear dolleys
I would recommend getting a thin, sturdy piece of sheet metal that the wheel dolly can roll right over. You can start getting the car into the elevator at an angle so only 1 or 2 wheels at a time would be on it.
It's amazing how unimaginative a group of four to five guys can be. That's immediately the first thing many of us thought of. Other than the fact that the car was totally fine to start up and drive 15 ft to the car elevator.
@@DerekThorpe294 the sheet metal thing yeah, but definitely do not turn it on if you wanna have warranty. "Probably fine" isn't enough as if the "probably" isn't true you wreck the transmission and then it's your fault.
Maybe you could place 2 thin pieces of wood, metal or plastic, over the gap that the small wheels can't get over, and that should allow it to enter the lift
I use those same Dollys. It's a shame they don't jack the car up themselves, like the others. But, they're such a great tool when storage is a premium.

With your foot off the brake pedal press and hold the start button for 5-10 seconds and it will go into accessory mode and you might be able to put the car into neutral
If you hold the start stop button for a few seconds without holding the brake pedal it should go into 2nd key position and allow you yo go into neutral
The first thing in my mind was that now it's going to be so difficult to get an epoxy floor to really stick to the spot where the fluid soaked into the raw concrete!!!!!
You need to get the car into service mode to put it in neutral: 1. Foot OFF the brake 2. Press and HOLD Start button for ~8-10 seconds 3. Lights and chimes will sound and it will be just like the "old days" of key two clicks forward in the On/Run position 4. Release Start button 5. Press brake and shift into Neutral 6. When done, move back to Park and press Start (no foot on brake) to get out of the service mode (if you don't do this the car will stay on until the battery runs out) Source: a google search, 2nd result. C’mon y’all. *also, I own a C8 so I looked it up ahead on case I ever needed to know.
If you turned the C8 on and switched it into neutral and pushed it, it shouldn't mess anything up. Yes, the gears in the trans are moving with no fluid, but not long enough, nor fast enough to effect anything. Then you would've been able to push it on the elevator and back off into the garage.
Should have taken the offer from buddy who wanted to buy it lmao all jokes aside, that seriously sucks. I see so many new cars having major issues lately, really hope this is just something like a drain bolt wasn't in properly tightened or something simple and not a big issue leading to recalls

You could’ve just bought transmission fluid filled it and quickly drove on the lift. It was probably a slow leak so you would’ve been fine doing that method
I say u should try to put carboard over the hole in the elevator or put some type of hard wood in the hole to push the corvette if possible without damaging the elevator
Install a winch on your elevator. hook up the tow bar and pull it on the dollys but you may need to do something to change the angle so the dollys dont break going up the elevator ramp
Id guess thats less than 2 quarts. but it sounds like that transmission uses roughly 4 qts(seems really low but that's whats listed). So just under 50% is on the floor so far. I'd guess a cooler line leaked.
Install sound deadening panels in the garage already. Put them on the ceiling and parts of the wall that don’t have your red brick. Should make a noticeable difference.
Press and hold start button for 10 seconds without your foot on the brake. It’ll turn the whole ECU on and let you be able to shift into neutral without starting the car.
Hey strad if you worried about floor getting damaged get yourself a bottle of propane and heating torch like roofers use and heat up oil stain and it will burn oil off
I know the neutral problem because it’s a dual clutch. Not saying this would work on the c8 but I know the dual clutch m4 transmissions have a neutral cable you can get to by removing the underside tray and zip tying the neutral cable to keep that neutral engaged.

Great to see you and Tim making content. You definitely need to come to UK
Imagine being trapped with stradman for two full days 😵
I love it when Shmee and Strad collaborate on videos .
The red brick looks super good. You just need a huge neon red sign over it that says “Stradmans garage”
Press and hold start button for 10 seconds without your foot on the brake. It’ll turn the whole ECU on and let you be able to shift into neutral without starting the car.
You could create some sort of wood wedge to go between the concrete and the car elevator so that the wheels could make it over the bump.
Hey strad if you worried about floor getting damaged get yourself a bottle of propane and heating torch like roofers use and heat up oil stain and it will burn oil off
I think it would be fine to turn it on just to quickly put it in neutral n then turn it right off what more can hurt😭
I know the neutral problem because it’s a dual clutch. Not saying this would work on the c8 but I know the dual clutch m4 transmissions have a neutral cable you can get to by removing the underside tray and zip tying the neutral cable to keep that neutral engaged.
