  • The irony of him calling Uma “Erma” when she just sang the song “What’s my Name?” cracked me up 🤣

  • "i wish they were lesbians" fun fact: dove cameron, who plays mal actually wanted her character and evie to be in a relationshi[p but sadly disney is a coward

    • @whovibe "I could show you things he never did"

    • " i can be a better boyfriend than him "

    • @nansii Pii Stfy

  • Yeah not only does Carlos have the best fashion sense, but he’s also the best dancer, at least in my opinion

    • Yeah agreed

    • Nah we can all agree on that one

    • yeah, cam was a professional dancer. you can see it on Jessie too, he can breakdance/hiphop but I think he also might've done ballet and whatnot? not sure, but he was a really good dancer

    • @Snick Biordking Wait I actually love that idea

    • Someone said it would've make more sense if Carlos was the one who loves designing clothes like Evie. And Evie will be the one who tries it on.

  • his hatred on doug is literally the best part of this movie commentary .

    • @ariana Thank you.. because I was like, who the hell is Doug 🤣 Dork Dork #1

    • dork dork #1

  • his hatred for the dwarf's son is absolutely everything

    • One which I share

    • For real! Why did they do him like that? Long hair doesn’t look good on him, especially since his hair line is kinda far back

  • Uma: Literally sings an entire song about her name Dylan: Urma or whatever her name is

  • I like how Dylan was questioning why someone would have sex with Ursula as if he hasn’t repeatedly simped for her🥸

  • I love watching the joy leaving Dylan’s face when he sees doug

  • The guys don’t really have goals in this movie because they cut some scenes where they talked ab future and stuff cuz Cameron died and they thought it would be hard for the family to see that.

    • That's actually quite considerate of them🥺

    • oh wow i didn’t know that. that’s actually rly nice of them

  • Space Between was originally written as a love song between Mal and Ben. They changed absolutely nothing about it and gave it to Mal and Evie. I refuse to believe it's not still a love song.

    • As much as I ship Mal and Evie, I'm baffled by this choice on a creative level. The movie prior had most Mal and Ben moments when he was cursed. He continued to pretend to be cursed, arrogantly (like Chad, who is condemned for his bravado) assuming that she roofied him because she fell for him (and was okay with that), instead of confronting and having an earnest relationship onwards. This movie would be the perfect chance for us to see them as a functioning couple and this song would have solidified that. It would make Mal's inner conflict a lot more compelling. And they give it to her best friend? Someone who, earlier in the film, dismissed her issues with their new lives? Why not make the cannon pairing better? I don't think Ben and Mal even have a song/duet just for themselves. Well, back to Evie and Mal fanfiction then. Tbf I never liked Mal and Ben anyway. Forced romance if I ever saw it.

    • man I ship them so hard

  • The disappointment on Dylan's face when he saw what Ben actually looked like as a beast. Lol.

    • Beast from the 1980s tv series was way better than this Beast

    • All I could see was how their hair looked exactly the same.

    • It just reminded me of Mason and his awful werewolf get up in Wizards of Waverly place (this was somehow worse though)

    • Dude. I was laughing so hard when I saw him, while my 7 yr old sister was amazed😂😂

    • I thought that was just him screaming🤭

  • at the end of the video dylan: “i guessed everything” rewind to when mal was talking to hades mal: “hey dad” dylan: “what.”

    • I WAS THINKING THAT LMAO, i was waiting for him to be shocked by it and it was so satisfying lol

  • "Oh how quickly the absentee father is forgiven" was such a raw line, Dylan lmao

  • I feel actually rly bad for the Audrey cause honestly everyone just forgets that the main girl litteraly just STOLE her boyfriend and her place as a queen. Idk it just bothers me a lot

    • Honestly, yeah. I actually liked Audrey way more as a character motive wise. (My interpretation, at least) She felt so pressured by her grandmother and family that she felt she absolutely needed to get the thrown, otherwise she’d be thrown aside.

    • Well she didn’t love Ben at all and only wanted the thrown so like

    • This!! she has every right to be mad😂 AND I FEEL LIKE BEN WAS MORE OBSESSED WITH MAL THEN SHE WAS WITH HIM. ( I don’t say in love because I don’t even get that vibe from them 😂) they were a weird couple 😀

  • I love how Dylan just loses all hope in the movie being good once the dog starts talking

    • Yeah I did too. But I watched it with a bunch of elementary kids when I worked in before and after school programs, so their joy was worth it I guess 😭😂

  • I think the main thing that changed for Uma was that Celia, one of the kids she wanted to save, was in danger. Also in the books the story gets darker at some points and in the book for audrey's diary it showed that she really did love Ben and that with her family basically guilting and manipulating her to have the throne motivated her evil side

  • OK, this is so old but that was my one pet peeve with this series. I feel like the third movie should've been the second and the second movie the third. It's just my opinion but it feels like Audrey being the villain would make more sense for the movie directly after she lost the crown rather than there being a whole other plot and then her just kind of coming back ya know? I think it would've been better for her to be super angry in the second movie and try to take over the kingdom and sending everyone to sleep and then after that where they like "fix" the relationship or forgive her but by then more time would have passed since Mal came to Auradon and her whole feeling out of place and wanting to return home arc would be better placed and her running off would feel more dramatic. On top of that, there would be an underlying tension in the friend group with Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos because of her earlier promise to open the barrier but then keeping it closed so they could debate whether they *really* wanted to go after her or if they thought she was superficial. And we could keep the same storyline because they would (eventually) come after her, but then ben gets kidnapped by Uma who wants the wand and all that but at the end instead of Uma staying evil they would realize they can actually all be good so they would open the barrier forever, Mal would fix her mistake to mend her friendships and get to see her dad again, ben would be saved, Uma would be loved and they would all live happily ever after. Idk like just my opinion like a whole year late lol.

    • I think the actress wasn‘t in the second movie because she had other commitments. That‘s why she didn‘t have a great arch.

    • also i wanted maleficent to come back at some point with hades, i didn’t want her to turn good i just wanted something to happen like she was a side villain or something. it’s so boring how she stays a lizard ngl

    • That 100% make sense. Audrey going for revenge right after her life got ruined actually sounds a little better

    • I kind of agree with that structure. Like it definitely seemed a little late for Audrey to suddenly get upset about losing Ben. I get it, he proposed to Mal, but it makes more sense for her to be upset right after losing him than after Ben and Mal have been dating a while. Also, they definitely could’ve made her a better villain. We could’ve had a sympathetic plot line where she talks about how much she cares about him and we see her heartbreak after being pushed to the side, then we see that pain move her to vengeance. Also, the “evil” stuff they had her do was so lame, they could’ve gone harder, even for a “kids movie”

  • Fun Fact: In the first movie the love spell actually wore off at their first date in when he swam in the enchanted lake. In the third movie Jane hid in the enchanted lake so she couldn't be affect by Audrey's sleeping spell.

  • Just based on context clues it’s pretty clear that Carlos was abused by Cruella physically and emotionally, it also seems like based on their interactions in the first movie that Cruella wanted Carlos to be completely dependent on her so that he wouldn’t be able to survive without her.

  • I hate that he though Thomas was trying an accent when he is actually Scottish 🤣

    • @KotaToni nope, thomas is scottish and mitchell (ben) is australian

    • Doesn't thomas just have an austrailian accent and Mitchtell is Scottish?

    • IKR

  • You know it’s Disney when: - the characters have weird hair colours - lack of character development - fake laughing all the time - talking animals - singing every two seconds - bad CGI - a laugh track after every line (apparently not in Descendants tho) - plot doesn’t make sense

    • Heavily queer coded villain-type characters **cough** Evie, Mal, Harry, Jay, Gil, honestly even Hades himself **cough**

  • Uma: *Has a whole song about her name* Dylan: *Still forgets her name*

  • Agree with his review. The second one is my favorite out of the 3 (Mostly because of villains and story: song balance) literally Audrey has the most powerful rock on a stick, and all she does is make people fall asleep.

    • its for the aesthetic

  • The fact that Maleficent and Hades hooked up in this universe is so fucking insane.

    • not only that but they were married!!!

    • Not just hooked up, they were MARRIED. I literally shouted in shock when Hades said that.

    • beta I’m so mad that we never got to see daring x rosabella and raven x dexter fully set sail and be developed more

    • De Deb And the fact that Disney caused EAH to get cancelled when EAH is older than Descendants and was getting serious with the Darling becoming the charming that saves Apple and the plot twist that Daring was actually going to become the beast

    • Lol yes.

  • Honestly I was more invested in Mal and Evies friendship than Mal and Ben's "relationship"

  • Thank god, finally someone who gets the idea of a God being captive on a island 🤦‍♀️ He’s one of the biggest Gods, King of the Underworld. And they are treating him like that really pissed me off. I mean, it’s his job to catch souls, he doesn’t do it willingly or for fun and they held him captive for that I guess 🙂

    • @Breanna Deal exactly. Hades is much more power

    • To be fair...the Disney version of Hades was pretty lame power wise...his plan was literally undone by a technicality. Scar murdered his brother, but Hades like...took some super strength away?

  • "I'm ready for a disney lesbian princess" Disney: "say less" *Raya and the Last Dragon is created* Everyone who was hoping there'd be actual rep: NOOOOO

  • "is that how women felt?" lmao yeah kinda, though its still disappointing to not see the male characters used at all because its always disappointing when there's no arc to character with a good amount of screen time.

  • The thing i hated the most about Descendants is that it became the Mal show. It was supposed to be about the Villain kids but they managed to give Mal center stage in not 1, not 2 but 3 movies! 3! Where it's all about her struggles. It's called Descendants not Malcendants

    • @shannon clark You mean Girl vs. Monster?

    • @Ana Yes they do? I remember getting one of them about Evie or Jay from a library in the past.

    • @Ana actually they do

    • Good point

    • THISSSSSS

  • Dylan: “ It’s Mulans daughter, Mulan Rudge. “ EVERONE watching: 🤦‍♀️

    • At least figure out what he’s referencing before making your comment lmao

    • Not me

  • I’m pretty sure the love spell from the first movie did work, it’s just that the lake Ben swam in was the enchanted lake which lifted the spell prematurely (that lake is also where the water that turned Ben back human came from)

  • Does anyone else think its hilarious how Dylan keeps on making fun of the nerd when Dylan and him look exactly alike

  • “They should be lesbians” THANK YOU, I THOUGT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD THAT THOUGHT

  • no one: not a soul: disney: *mals purple wig changing every movie*

    • @LifeIsBi TVLover Sofia never dyed she always had brown

    • @Emile Gore PLSS

    • You’re so right

    • @Emile Gore I think that was trying to be symbolic of her true self clashing with the 'Auradon girl' persona she tried to have and that's why her dress magically changes to the one in the stain glass after she becomes a dragon because it represents her being true to herself.

    • Everyone hair changes actually.

  • Also again Carlos is clearly the best dancer, and still my favorite character

  • I will say the reason why the prince doesn't got c "Beast Mode" is because his father never had it originally (born with it) it was cursed onto him and then lost it when bell came through. But he does though have anger and controlling issues, which the prince does have, but that's why the prince is utterly useless...still I would think they'd teach him how to fight cause he's ya know the prince and the obviously have the tool and resources to do so so its their fault if he dies.🙄

  • Dylan: * *Who Put Their Fishingrod in that octopussy* * Me: * *realizing what he said* * Me: ...

  • My favorite of the 3 films is the 2nd one. The first film didn't have enough songs in my opinion, the gaps between songs were too long and at times I forgot it was a musical. The 3rd film had the problem in reverse, too many songs, I feel like the story was rushed because of the number of songs there were. The 2nd film has enough songs so I remembered it was a musical but too many to take away from the actual story. Plus the songs are great, Chillin' Like A Villian is my personal favorite, Space Between is an incredible duet, and the rest are all great. The thing I don't like about the 2nd film though is that the McGuffin was the wand, again.

  • Descendants are one of those movies where I know they're bad and cringe a lot but I still enjoy them immensely. Also the songs are bangers and no one can convince me otherwise.

    • This is exactly how I feel about all of the movies also I LOVE the costumes who ever designed them did a great job and I also think the character development was pretty interesting

    • RIGHT OMGGGGG

    • ✨Comfort Movies✨

    • exactly

    • Same

  • The delayed reaction dylan had to Hades being Mals dad was my brain trying to get through finals week lmao.

  • 6:55 Dylan is every fan in existence when they first see him. "You are moody and i like it" 😂

  • literally every high school musical is about the same thing HSM: Gabriella has doubt about dating Troy. HSM2: Gabriella has doubt about dating Troy so she breaks up with him. HSM3:Gabriella moves to another school.

  • 37:42 "we haven't used the L word yet" but in 29:41 "i love you" ...did the writers just forget that plotline or???

    • in the film she says ''I love ... movies'' and he said ''me too''

  • Dylan on every single commentary: possibility of murder and lesbian romance

    • @lilly_clouds YES. not only dylan would love that but I would love that

    • I would love to see such a movie tho😌

    • @•Itz Guacamole• hehehe you're welcome 😅

    • @thed4rkestrose literally thank you for this comment. I’m gonna watch this video again

    • Whole mood tbh

  • Yeah, no it’s clear from the way Carlos reacts to a lot of things in the movies that he was being abused by Cruella in a lot of ways.

  • Dylan, it was actually explained in the first movie that the love spell worked but got neutralized when Mal and Ben were on their first date because the water was an enchanted lake water, and thus it was useful in the third movie where Jane squirted it on Ben to reverse him back to a human form but still had adverse effects which was the beard and the sharp teeth

  • Personally I enjoyed how he was like "oh! he's trying a captain hook accent?!?!?? 🤨" and the actor's just Scottish lmaoo

  • ever since you pointed out him dancing with knees, i catch it every time and it makes me die of laughter

  • “Do dress makers get paid that well in this world?” Dylan it’s a disney movie, princesses have like 3 different outfit wardrobe changes in a movie

    • I once owned an old book called "How to be a Princess". It said that a princess must have a different outfit for every activity, and never wear the same outfit twice... So yeah, lots of outfits. (I always thought it was Disney princesses but I'm now realizing it had Anastasia on the cover and she is not Disney)

    • Of course

    • And in Disney there's royalty

    • And dresses are expensive and with how many people in that kingdom

    • When dresses are your only outfit choice they be making a lot more than you think

  • It is very clear from the way that he acts around other people but especially around his mother that Carlos has been abused probably emotionally, but definitely physically, and that of the original four villain kids, he’s the youngest, just based on how protective of him the others are.

  • I like how me as a WLW didn’t even pick up on the possible lesbian tension between Mal and Evie but Dylan did and it just IMMEDIATELY set off my gay panic like 10 fold

  • It makes sense for the guy saying "You work it girl" to Mal. Because that's the candle from Beauty And The Beast 🤣🤣

  • I have only seen the first descendants movie, so watching this is even more funny coz Dylan’s reactions and being clueless as to what’s happening is just 👌🏻

  • I feel like the real reason Dylan bullies Ben about his knees so much is because deep down, he's insecure about his own knees

  • I love that Dylan went a whole three movies without realizing the water for the enchanted lake could dispel curses...

  • Honestly, the books (especially the first one) were pretty good. I remember the first one having a little more edge to it, and fun fact, Mal used to bully Evie.

  • Whenever there is a dance sequence with Ben in it I just look at Carlos. He is an amazing dancer 🤯🤯 ❤️Cameron Boyce

  • Idk its weird and idk if its true but i feel like uma really did care about the villans and the kids so why she helped mal right away was sorta because celia was the one in trouble (sorry if its not spelt right)

  • This trilogy would probably be really good if it were aimed at an older audience. A few deaths, some blood, real battle scenes and songs without the Disney censoring on the lyrics. It would be great.

    • Rose Russo exactly. They’re villains for crying out loud. Also they made Mal weak. She’s half god half evil fairy. If they made her stronger the fight scene with Audrey would’ve been more interesting.

    • In other words if Disney didn’t make it it’ll be really good.

    • You just described Once Upon A Time-

    • If you like that kind of stuff is you have Disney + it’s called once apon a time it’s aimed to older teens but it’s so good 100% recommended :)

    • Samuel Halligan a avengers descendants crossover

  • BESIDES DOUG i think everyones hair in movie 3 got a lot better 1. evie's looks very sleek and professional 2. THANK GOD for the blue tones in mals hair it makes it so much better looking, I think the black roots also really compliment it 3. camerons and boo boo's hair is majestic per usual 4. I really like the copper tone they picked for celias hair 5. hades is hades so he gets an automatic pass 6. as much as I hate to say it, audreys hair looks really good with the mutli-coloration, both the cotton candy one but especially the "evil audrey" weave (I know the weave is super obvious but its pretty) 7. again, hate to say it, but chad looks better with long hair 8. uma's hair looks great I kinda liked it better in 2 but its still consistent (I think they hired a black haired stylist for this movie which is awesome)

    • With 7 I absolutely agree, he looks WAY better with the long hair. Though it being short in the first movie makes sense to me for some reason. Like, Chad having longer hair doesn't suit his characterisation in the first movie. Idk how to really explain it but I hope you kinda get what I mean.

  • descendants 2 has the best soundtrack by FAR. so many bops

  • I need this man to be a screenwriter asap, i will watch all of his movies

  • I love how we were all on the same page about wanting Evie and Mal to be in a relationship

  • the "love triangle" between Uma, Mal and Ben is also a play on what Ursela did to Prince Eric after she turned into a human

    • 🙀🙀🙀 im no dissapointed in myself for not realizing

    • omg true!! I never noticed it!

    • I read the start and thought, "MAL AND UMA? YAY!" then finished reading and I was like, "oh, right, of course that makes more sense."

    • And Mal put Audrey into a deep sleep just like her mom

    • Like the whole "Vanessa" persona that she did

  • the most evil thing in the whole trilogy was Hades leaving Mal since her mom was so awful, and saying it built character

  • I love how I know that the writing for these movies are cheesy but I love them anyway 😂

  • seeing dylan's displeasure with the beast cgi is hilarious lol

  • Just to let u know Dylan, I don’t think that they knew the 3rd would be the last until they lost Cameron and didn’t think they could go on without him!

  • Uma: has a song dedicated to her name Dylan: "Urma, or whatever her name is" 9:05

    • What's my name what's my name Dylan: Urma

    • Lmfaooo

    • Like Smurf😂🤦

    • Hahah he did the same with Gaston in Beauty and the Beast😂😂 he kept messing up his name

  • The spell did work in the first movie because of the whole 'gold flecks in her eyes' and 'Did I mention' scenes, but when they went on the date and he jumped into the magic water the spell wore off. 😁

    • I always thought it didn't work because he was already in love with her but thanks for clearing that up

  • You are so right this movie does mis a lot of edge. Theres not enough stabs for the amount of sword fights.

  • Wait until Dylan finds out the guy who plays Jay is also the guy who plays Seth in twilight

  • you know i also genuinely wanted to like audrey as the villain the first time i saw D3, but was deeply disappointed. I felt that there were a lot of missed opportunities with her character.

  • i love how dylan thinks that anyone who's not American is just trying an accent, like Harry, yet completely misses the people actually doing American accents, like Ben. Both actors are Scottish and Australian respectively

  • I just realized that ‘Jarlos’ is pretty similar to ‘Jarclose’.

  • THE PRIDE IN THIS MAN right after he said “who put that fish rod into that octop*ssy” is a prime example of WHY i watch him 😂

  • The love spell worked in the first movie until he went into the water. So, he was spelled when he sang, but not when he said he loved her. Side note: it was a crocodile that ate Hook's hand, but I didn't notice before you pointed out what a sad missed opportunity him jumping into the water was. Haha.

  • THE ABRUPT WAY THE SCENES WERE BLENDED AT 24:41 AND 24:42 HAD ME IN TEARS. WHY DID UMA JUMP OFF THE BOAT LIKE THAT ???

  • Uma: *sings an entire song about her name* Dylan: Urma, or whatever her name was

    • @Erin Dorsey ikr

    • @SammyBear i don’t think that’s true, i just think he has a terrible memory and doesn’t pay attention to the songs lmao

    • @SammyBear or it he purposely said it wrong as a joke idk dhjsdh

    • Eh, it happens 😂😂

    • I know right

  • Can we just talk about how Dylan said “but the spell didn’t work in the first one” but literally Ben talks about how the water gets rid of it…

  • dylan is not chillin because he's not a villain

  • i loved how dylan showed us the free “expensive” font then continued to use it throughout the video :)

  • Who else thinks Dylan would be an awesome producer? | | V

    • You mean director

  • "I can't believe they did nothing with the male characters, is that how women feel?" Oh Dylan.

    • @Tiana Grey okay and what's wrong with that

    • @Tiana Grey They are not feminists. People who portray women as horrific, arrogant jerks are not feminists.

    • @Noory Korky i mean i know younger kids who watched it and they said the liked the 2nd movie

    • @Plz leave mealone yeah but you are assuming what kids like and don't a lot kids don't care about story they just want a good movie that's why it's a kid movie not a adult movie and just because other shows made for kids did story doesn't mean every story based show sorry movies has to have a good story cause it isn't targeting adults it's targeting kids

  • i can't be the only one who thinks that the CGI he calls bad is okay. 😂😂

  • To help with Uma helping Mal question The reason she helped was because of the kid that Audrry stole. She wants to help because she doesn't want to have the kid getting killed

  • I love how he was so excited to see the beast and then totally regretted it😂

  • How does sealing the barrier solve the problem when Audrey was already in Auradon? The villain didn't come from the Isle, she came from the good kingdom, so how does sealing the barrier fix anything at all?

  • “He really has top end fashion in this” Well he is Cruella De Vil’s son and she was obsessed with fashion

    • Well he did say he was the opposite of his mother soooooooo

    • @em jay Evie could do makeup and Carlos would do wardrobe. Boom, power duo.

    • propogandalf omg that would’ve been so much better

    • @A Peanut On Hawaii this is unfortunately too accurate…

    • Good point

  • So there’s descendants 4 coming. Can’t wait to see Dylan’s reaction to that. Also Julie and the phantoms is a musical tv series also directed by Kenny Ortega. I thought it was good. So the only thing that mainly got me through these movies was most the soundtrack. Dylan please make a cover of these movies I would love to see dark descendants 😂😂

  • 5:20 Having never seen this movie, I love(hate?) how I can tell exactly from that line “A team will be comprised of a captain and eight men” that Mulan’s daughter will get around the rules by becoming the captain. Because movie.

  • Wait until Dylan sees Disney’s Zombies and Zombies 2 with the “werewolves” …. I was monumentally disappointed.

  • I love how in the first movie he didn't hear the prince talk about how the rock he dived for broke the spell XD

  • Dylan: he’s trying to do an accent Thomas Doherty: is Scottish

    • @March Forth the legacies accent is just a bad English accent, Scottish is different

    • I immediately went to the comments to look for a comment like this so I didn't have to say it hahahaha

    • I’ve been watching Legacies and he plays a vampire in it and I thought he was doing a bad British accent the whole time! Do I just not understand Scottish accents????

    • someone once meant i was speaking a foreign languge and it mustve been so hard to lern ... Me: a german speaking well german

    • hahaha i was going to comment this because i was like oop-

  • The love spell did work on Ben in the first movie but when he was on that date with Mal, he jumped into that lake thing who broke the spell.

  • I watch the commentary partly JUST to see the reaction to the talking dog. I loved it and it just brings me such amusement that other adults hate it so much. I also wondered the same about Ursela. I paused the movie and was like WHAT.. WHY...WHAT...WHHHHHH." Your comment won.....the internet. That is the real accent of the actor who plays Hook's son, by the way. He's Scottish! :D' The spell wore off in the water he jumped in while roaring. P.S. Are you chillen like a villain, Dylan? >:D

  • Dylan: Who'd have a baby with Ursula? Me: *having little mermaid movie commentary flashbacks*

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Audrey did NOT deserve freedom. PERIOD! 😂 Homegirl committed SEVERAL felonies throughout the WHOLE movie and openly admitted that she had the intent and desire to cause harm. She is a felon. An enemy of the state. She should be in a dungeon 🤣🤣

  • I love that Chad just had the rule book on him....randomly like he was expecting someone to challenge the rules.

  • Dylan's reaction when Evie kissed Doug was hilarious
