Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve (“Arrival,” “Blade Runner 2049”) directs Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune,” the big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller of the same name. A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive. The film stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Call Me by Your Name,” “Little Women”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep,” “Mission: Impossible - Fallout”), Oscar Isaac (the “Star Wars” franchise) Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Milk,” “Avengers: Infinity War”), Stellan Skarsgård (HBO’s “Chernobyl,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Avengers: Endgame”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Fences,” “Lady Bird”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” HBO’s “Euphoria”), Chang Chen (“Mr. Long,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”), David Dastmalchian (“Blade Runner 2049,” “The Dark Knight”), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” Netflix’s “Sex Education”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), with Jason Momoa (“Aquaman,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Skyfall”). Villeneuve directed “Dune” from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth based on the novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert. Villeneuve also produced the film with Mary Parent, Cale Boyter and Joe Caracciolo, Jr. The executive producers are Tanya Lapointe, Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert. Behind the scenes, Villeneuve reteamed with two-time Oscar-nominated production designer Patrice Vermette (“Arrival,” “Sicario,” “The Young Victoria”), two-time Oscar-nominated editor Joe Walker (“Blade Runner 2049,” “Arrival,” “12 Years a Slave”), two-time Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert (“First Man,” “Blade Runner 2049”), and Oscar-winning special effects supervisor Gerd Nefzer (“Blade Runner 2049”). He also collaborated for the first time with Oscar-nominated director of photography Greig Fraser (“Lion,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”); three-time Oscar-nominated costume designer
Jacqueline West (“The Revenant,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Quills”) and co-costume designer Bob Morgan; and stunt coordinator Tom Struthers (“The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Inception”). Oscar-winning and multiple Oscar-nominated composer Hans Zimmer (“Blade Runner 2049,” “Inception,” “Gladiator,” “The Lion King”) is creating the score. Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present “Dune.” The film is slated to be released in theaters on December 18, 2020.

  • Looks promising

  • Even though I haven't read any of the books, I just binge-watched both David Lynch's 1984 version and Sci-Fi Channel's 2000 mini-series as references, and I can already tell that this movie will prove to be their superior. Can't wait for December 18 !

    • 1984 movie = not faithful to the books, director didn't even read it til he got hired to direct 2000 miniseries = bad production and bad acting 2020 Dune = will be faithful to the books, great production, magnificent cast, a director who has been a fan of the book since he was a teen and has literally never made a bad film. THIS IS IT!!!

  • Well, time for me to re-read the book again...

  • The film from 1985 must better

  • Can not wait for this film.

    • That looks BADASS. As someone who has read all the books, even the books written by Herbert's son and seen all the film adaptations, I'm really looking forward to this.

  • #RelesaestheJodorowskyCut

  • DUNC...IN DONUTS.

  • Is this really based on the Quran?

  • The fact that pretty much every line of dialogue in this trailer was pulled from the book shows Villeneuve's dedication to remaining true to the book. Can't wait!

  • This is gonna be so. damn. good.

  • Should they pull this off. It will be one for the ages.

  • 0:15 *scream*

  • This didn't hook me in. I liked Lynch's movie. I didn't like the Sci-fi miniseries. I like the books.

  • That looks BADASS. As someone who has read all the books, even the books written by Herbert's son and seen all the film adaptations, I'm really looking forward to this.

  • That's an alaskan bull worm

  • "Long live the fighters"

  • Shouldn't the line be 'Do you often SEE things happen just as you dreamed them' not 'DREAM'?

  • So apparently I need to read Dune soon so I can watch this without spoiling the book for myself

  • Engineers?

  • This should be an awesome movie. more like the book I hope. I see Pink Floyd is part of the sound track.

  • The Dark Side of the Moon soundtrack is a nice touch. Maud'Dib means Moon.

  • Guys, I can't fucking wait. I'm re-reading the books while listening to the audiobook version and touching myself. Hype is the mindkiller but I cannot let it pass through me

  • Eclipse - Pink floyd

  • Didnt understand the first 1 wont understand the second 1

  • this is SUCH a good trailer tbh. i’m not even a huge fan but i’m pumped as hell after watching this.

  • I'm a fan of the Lynch film, but I'm beyond excited to see this. every time I see this trailer I think I'm having a religious experience lol

  • What’s the name of the song they used?

  • Okay, that trailer rocks

  • just good actors

  • Such a good cast.

  • Idk why but he gives me Christian Bale vibes. Hmmmm...

  • I dunno, I haven't read the books but this trailer didn't do anything for me...yea its Denis but I didn't dig much of his stuff from the past except sicario and I didnt even dig the first blade runner so the second was also pretty meh, but I know how epic the books are and this trailer just didn't convey that, or the uniqueness, dystopian elects mixed with sci fi, bit of mad max, bit of blade runner...need to see more. As a newcomer, this left me unimpressed.

  • They did a cover of Eclipse by Pink Floyd in this trailer, and this movie is coming out the week of a total solar eclipse in the Southern hemisphere. Nice touch

  • 2:34 Old man of the desert

  • Pink Floyd in the sound track?!!! Hell Yeah!

  • This looks SO good

  • Meh

  • Dang

  • This is only a trailer, nothing amazing. We need watch the movie and judge without passion or fanaticism.

  • Just here for my daily rewatch

  • Looks freaking awesome!!

  • WHERES CAPTAIN PICARD!?

  • A revised Pink Floyd song in the soundtrack. It beats the hell out of Toto soundtrack in the '80s

  • 21st century movies good CGI but klepto paste from 20th century.

  • Sandworms, don't you hate 'em

  • Y'all better be wearing your masks so it's not difficult/impossible to see this in theaters!

  • A MUST SEE. DO NOT DENY YOURSELF!

  • Well I never read the book. I have only a small understanding of the storyline but I think the modern special effects will be a great improvement on a great story

  • This looks like it will do what the earlier Dunr movies couldn't do...this story can't really be portrayed in a trailer but Vilenuve is a great director so I'm really looking forward to it.

  • At this point, anything new looks great lol. Bring it on.

  • Thanos and Aquaman in the same movie? Count me in.

    • Nobody gonna mention MJ or Drax too? (eh maybe it's cause he's a master of disguise)

  • wenn sie nicht auf einem Wurm reiten ist es nicht DUNE.

    • THe worm riding will probably come only in the second movie though.

  • SPACE COCAIIIIIIIN!!!

  • Awesome, loved Dune and the Children of Dune, a wonderful story.

  • Dave bautista as Rabban, but whos playing Feyd?

  • I CAN'T WAIT

  • Where Disney's Star Wars failed, Dune prevails.

  • king henry the fith really did a lot since his war with france

  • One of the few times I wouldn't mind watching a 3 hour movie. One of the few times I wouldn't mind watching a 3-hour movie twice. Don't screw this up WB, no pressure lol.

  • This movie's going to be so badass. thank you WB.

  • I'm looking forward to this remake, just finished readied a 4th edition copy of the book.

  • You've been here more than once, haven't you?

  • I've watched the trailer a few times now, and am still perplexed why it's trending so high. Many of the shots seem to be almost camera-perspective dups from Lynch's 1984 Dune (which I love). No doubt that the effects are quite good in this new version, but the old version wasn't too shabby, and the worms were better. I'm really just confused how some (especially those who've seen the original) think that this looks so much different, or so much MORE spectacular.

  • CS-tv's be like 1 billion details you missed in dune trailer

  • Looks really promising. But for me, the most impressive thing is Charlotte Rampling's performance. I can't get her voice out of my head!

  • Wonder what David Lynch thinks.

  • Pero bueno el casting de esta peli está buenísimo

  • more garbage from Hollywood

  • cs-tv.org/tv/video-y_9tfGWurMU.html&feature=emb_title

  • No fat flying ginger man then, thats the only thing I hoped Denis kept from the original :(
