  • Mr Steer is an absolute legend, he’s literally told by doctors to take a week off and he’s adamant he won’t because he’s such a dedicated teacher. You can see he’s clearly in pain but he pushes through to help them pass their GCSEs whereas my A level teacher takes a week off because he’s got a ‘bad cold’. You can really see the difference between the teachers who care and those who don’t.

    • Literally, I don’t get why some teachers do the job they obviously hate it. I really wish we had teachers like Mr Steer.

    • Tyler STEWART thanks I did as good as I could considering the circumstances x

    • Have huge amounts of empathy suffered from a young age from atopic dermatitis though is largely over my legs, has only just started coming back after quite a number of years of only getting minor break outs, also my father was a teacher training lecturer as well

    • Love you girl

    • Yes and no

  • The deputy teacher Mr Steer is so passionate and cares about these kids a lot. I wish there’d be more teachers like him. Bless him and is chronic illnesses. Top bloke! 🙌🏾

    • Less Bitter More Glitter ✨ unfortunately they're not many teachers who care about us children like family they are in it for the better of them not us

    • Ikr! That guy is a legend

    • AFOLAKE WITNEY not true, if you think teaching is a profession where you get rewarded without doing much you are wrong, and if you think that it’s a job for everyone you’re wrong, teachers who don’t seem to care or whatever aren’t doing it because they have something to gain because teachers aren’t paid that much, especially considering the work some of them do with the expectations everyone has on them. It takes a special type of person to be a truely good teacher, passion and grit are good examples, some people go into teaching expecting butterflies and rainbows but they usually don’t get that.

    • @AFOLAKE WITNEY most teaching staff care for children otherwise they wouldn't be working in a school

    • @AFOLAKE WITNEY literally the main reason anyone wants to be a teacher is to inspire children and change lives

  • This gives a really good insight into why some kids act up. It's not that they don't care ... it's that they get frustrated, then convinced they just can't do it. Sheridan is a great example. Her Geography teacher took time to talk her through the work and she got an A. Another teacher might have just given up on her.

    • Yh i was like that with english but then i got a good enthusia5ic teacher in year 11 i think enthusiastic teachers are the best

    • The issue is the kid's disruptive, rude and takes too much attention which could be given to a kid sat quietly at the back struggling. If the teacher had the time, they may be going around checking work and notice, but instead helping Sheridan. I do get what you mean though, they aren't bad kids, they have their issues and don't deal with them well as they're kids.

    • Tom Hardy but you have to see why they are like that if they aren’t frustrated then they aren’t going to act up anymore

    • @CrazygamerXtreme racist

  • I’ve never seen a teacher so happy to see children getting a C which is “just pass”

    • 🤣

    • My teacher would literally scream

    • They are set 8 blond lesbian girls, so yh😂

    • Mahedi Hassan whats wrong with lesbians?

    • Kxdie no one said there was anything wrong with it.......

  • That is one hardworking deputy head teacher!

  • Injured? stressed? tired? suffering? Dealing with terrible students? Still passionate, hard working, hats off to Mr Steer. 🙏💪

  • "I actually hate who invented maths sir" "He hates you too" LMAOOOO

  • That man is an angel. Bless him. I think a lot of teachers don't understand that they are the key to getting some students to feel passionate about their subject. How teachers manage the class and students as individuals does matter, and it can be the difference between a pass and a fail. Mr Steer is a perfect example of an excellent staff member. It's clear that he cares and that's what students appreciate.

  • teachers do so much for us children but we don't realise it

    • Why do i think your actually like a 27 year old man pretending to be a kid to try to teach us something

    • Owais Rashid until the time has come to go

    • that girl thats called myffi nah i finished my gcse last year and i was predicted a 2 in english maths and science and i got grade 5 in all of them which shows all the teachers put in effort to help me

    • Init

    • Some teachers can be right knobheads tho

  • “Maths is so crap without Mr Steer” awwww. Wish he was there to hear such a lovely comment, even from someone that isn’t doing that great. Teachers can rlly make an impact!

    • Hopefully he watched this back and saw them saying that about him, just so he realises the impact he has on them

  • Mr Steer is an absolute legend! What an amazing & dedicated teacher, wish all teachers could be like this!

  • i never treat my teachers like this but i have so much more respect for them now it’s crazy didn’t realise the lengths they got to for us

    • Ikr!! I still respect them and do my work(well not drama or geography 🤣) but I didn't know how much they suffer

    • Love you girl

    • Yes and no

    • Might be that I am american but teachers at my school dont do any of this lmfao

    • @Tyler Hunt ok xxx

  • Who else is binge watching these during lockdown?

  • My god I feel so bad for Mr Steers :( The pressure, the allergies and everything...

    • He passed away :(

    • @Millie Johnston are you sure? A quick look on twitter shows he posted last on the 9th of may 2021

    • I have those weird allergies as well. People tend to not believe you.

    • What allergies does he have? Is that why his hands are bandaged?

    • @iAmLouise he explains in the video, he’s allergic to specific chemicals such as ones in raw chicken, red dye etc

  • Mr steer is an absolute legend, if any of the teachers at my school got the same health problems as him, they wouldn’t go through what mr steer went through just for the students

    • No he has anger issues

    • @Jesse Bruce Pinkman I mean under the stress he's put in, for how calm he's trying to be it's impressive he has so much will and determination

  • mr steer :( i feel so bad for him suffering with his illness and i really am in awe of his determination and strength !! what an amazing person

  • What a brilliant man that assistant head is. Such a hard worker. If he wasn’t into teaching I’m sure he could be making a lot more money somewhere else

    • Just goes to show, he's got a passion for it, they are the kind of teachers we need!

    • "Mr Steer still believes in me, so.." That means everything!

    • No

  • Mr steer deserved more praise... didn’t take days off even with his chronic illnesses because he wanted to help the students get the best GCSE’s they could!

  • What’s the point complaining about them moving from teacher to teacher if they’ve kept them together in a class? Put them in different classes🤯🤯

    • Molly Armstrong they’ll refuse to do work

    • Good idea but they'll just refuse to work

    • Then that’s there educationan wasted not the others in the class who can’t physically do work because of them

    • Molly Armstrong good point. Ok you win 😂

    • Molly Armstrong probably in the lowest class, where there is only one class

  • God this was sad seeing Micheal health deteriorate

    • I was almost in tears

    • i cried when he cried and when he banged his leg

    • Grace Woodvine when did this happen?

    • Jotaro Kujo who's your favourite stardust crusaders stand?

  • I love love LOVE Mr Steer! What a passionate, hard working, incredible man. I hope he is well and thriving wherever he is now 💖

  • it’s refreshing to see a teacher actually caring and putting in the efforts

  • Those two girls love Mr Steer more than any kid in school should love a teacher. They even want to achieve for him, not themselves 🤯🤯🤯

  • Makes me cry every time I watch this. Mr Steer is an amazing teacher, just wanted to give him a huge hug when he was in so much pain, I don’t reckon there are many teachers that are as dedicated as he is.

  • You will all be glad to here Mr steer is happy at my school now and his health is perfect. Apart from corona of course

  • He is so considerate and selfless it's unbelievable

  • “he’s about the same brainy as that stephen hawkings, that scientist! ... I think he’d win at brainiestness definitely” This girl omfg 😂😂😂

    • shame we’ll never see it now 😢

    • Its yorkshire, what do you expect lol

    • Those 4 were doing my head in 😂🙄

    • Paige yeah it’s like they’re from the same litter

  • My dad was a headteacher at a deprived school for years and I have seen the emotional toll it takes on the staff. He left at 6am and came home at 11pm to collapse into bed. He was constantly stressed and he would work through weekends just because he couldn't switch off

  • i’m actually proud of sheridan, i hope she’s doing well now

    • Her and lauren are still friends

  • The amount he cares for his work is awesome 🥰🥺

  • It’s weird to think that all of them are 23 now ://///

  • The teachers on these shows always seem to care about the kids. I guess because I was a quiet kid they never paid me any attention.

    • @Umar thats not cool mate me and some of my friends are dyslexic so yes we get a majority of the teachers attention not because we are assholes but because we find it hard to focus and get sidetracked

    • Yeah but your different, kids who don’t do anything to stand out don’t get attention (kids who aren’t super smart or kids who aren’t super loud - if your just an average student who doesn’t speak much you don’t get noticed)

    • Same they always care about the kids who smoke in school and get detentions everyday

  • I have respect for the maths teacher. He really cares about the students and how they do. What a nice man.

  • The teacher that refused to let mr steers go without a chat just made my heart melt

  • I feel *so* bad for the deputy head The fact that he has to deal with so much stress and dermatitis (together with under performing students) is a really bad combo (saying this from experience) and even though he goes through this he still tries to stay positive and really wants his students to pass, I wouldn’t be able to survive if I were him

  • "Miss I think you're beautiful" "I know but I am a married woman you need to leave me alone" 😂😂😂

  • The girl who was like I don’t need maths for hairdressing. Me: your not dying my hair you’ll turn it green if you don’t measure it 😂

    • You're

    • Well yeah but she’s arguing you don’t need to learn pi to do hairdressing, doesn’t take a c in maths to measure hair dye lmao

    • Omg that what I was saying

    • Jak Jackman you do actually

  • Mr. Steer is a great teacher!! students are very lucky to have him.

  • It makes me so emotional like I can see that Sheridan really wanted to try, it just shows it’s about the teaching.

  • I really admire this teacher. I personally find maths boring but I’d love to be in this class just because he seems so fun but also caring at the same time.

  • damn i would love to have teachers like this man, honestly

  • I'm watching this from an American prospective so it's interesting seeing how more or less different UK schools are compared to US schools. For instance, years are known as grades here in the US (Reception/Years 1 to 13 = Kindergarten/Grades 1 to 12). And we aren't required to wear school uniforms here. And God bless Mr. Steer! Hands down the best teacher ever! Dude literally puts his love for teaching kids over his own health.

  • why is no one talking about the boy who took gum from the girls mouth

    • ririi girl when?

    • @Erica Hill 6:36 x

    • DICOSTANG🤢

    • Finally someone actually comments that when it’s true

    • Omfg i thought he gave her something not took it out of her mouth and ate it

  • This makes me miss school a little more. I'm 26 and I feel so bad for the teachers seeing the bratty attitude from the students and makes me realise they literally are there to help and teach you but at the time of being a student it's like the worst thing going to school but I'd do anything to do it again

  • I never realised how much work went on behind the scenes in school but I genuinely feel so bad for the deputy head teacher in this school, he worked so hard everyday and got little in return.

  • Mr Steer deserves everything in this whole world, if you’re reading this, which I know you’re probably not, I just want to let you know that you’re amazing and your students are so lucky to have you teaching them. You’re an icon and a true hero. Sending prayers to you, hope you get better, you deserve better. This world is so unfair, but you do everything to turn it around. You’re so hardworking and just an amazing human being all around.

  • This is the sweetest teacher ever. Imagine the pain he’d be in and he refused to stop working

  • This gives a really good insight into why some kids seem lazy or disinterested, and why they may messed up. It's not that they don't care or are unbothered.. it's because they are getting frustrated, and blaming themselves for not understanding, so they act out and try to just be funny to their friends to get them through school. A lot of pupils struggle to get through school and there's a lot of teachers that tend not to handle it right either. Sheridan struggling is a super good example, when I was in highschool nearly every kid was like this (my school's support system and teachers were awful)

  • lol..Poor Mr Steers.. litterally limping through the corridor with bandaged hands and stress veins on his head

    • when i saw those CHAVS on the tumbmail i directly clicked on it lmao

  • sherridan seems so sweet, I love how when her teacher was struggling, she was the first one to ask if he was okay I thought it was really sweet and cute

  • That’s horrible I feel so bad for the deputy head. He’s trying so hard to help these year 11 as he’s in pain aswell 🙏

  • The most interesting thing about Mr Steer is that apparently he left an incredibly lucrative career to be a teacher. He used to work in finance so he's taken a relatively low paid, high stress job to help kids.

  • What I don’t get is why does Mr Steer have all that responsibility to do timetables, general student progress, teach Maths for the Year 11s, and do discipline. Gets me wondering what the other senior staff are doing.

  • I hope these girls watch this and realise how there actions effects others including staffs mental health

  • My cousin was very like Mr Steer. She was vice principle (head teacher). She taught music and art also. She was very dedicated and did a lot of extra things around the school. For example, she organized a school play at Halloween each year, made costumes and props in her spare time at home. She edited 400 school reports at xmas and summer to ensure there were no spelling or grammar mistakes by other teachers. Long story short, she developed an auto immune disease. She had to isolate for a year in her home. Then covid hit, so shes been isolating for 3 years alone in her home. The doctors still are not sure what is wrong with her. She can only stay awake for about 6 hours a day. She can barely walk up stairs and her vision is really poor. Mr Steer is amazing, but he needs to invest in his own self care, because he wont be able to help his students if he's too sick...or worse.... dead. That woman was right, nobody is irreplaceable. My cousin wasn't appreciated by the other staff, now they have to pick up the slack. I'm sure the student and teachers miss her and it is partly her own fault too. It is what is it.

  • I have the same condition as the teacher in this, being in school really is horrible sometimes, I really empathise with him. It is not stress!!!

  • These teachers are literally amazing ❤️

  • seeing the teachers take such an interest in the students is just..💛

  • I love all the teachers those students are actually blessed :/

  • Lot of respect for all of the educators in this series and how they manage the school.

  • I love that teacher guy - he's got his heart in the right place :)

  • that deputy head is an absolute legend he puts himself through so much for other people like how kind is that seeing his health get bad was so sad

  • Watching this is even more sad knowing how much immense pressure teachers are under from the school board etc. If their students don't get good results, they lose their jobs. It's so hard to be a teacher, much harder than people think

  • I feel so bad for Mr Steer :(

  • The girls at 27:49 are sad and feeling sorry for Mr Steer but what they don’t know is they caused his allergies to become worse from stress. Yes teachers are going to have stress nearer exams, but in our school, once exams were close everyone listened and concentrated as they realised how close the exams were, this meant that they didn’t get stressed, other students didn’t get stressed and the teachers didn’t either. They practically put Mr Steer in that position.

  • came here for a laugh, didn’t realise it would be so wholesome.

    • u got hearted r e s p e c t

    • And a tad sad

  • Mr Steer, for the love of God take the week off work 🤣🤣

    • Kevin Gormley deserves more than a week off😂 ,bless him .parents don’t realise and don’t appreciate how much work teachers put in to educating our children ... I wish him the very best in life ❤️

    • @Samina Bibi he works at Ossett Acadamy now inbetween dewsbury and wakefield.

  • they are so blessed to have a teacher like mr steer

  • Even though mr Speer is so under pressure, he keeps a bright smile and brilliant attitude 🤩🤩

  • I wish I had Mr Steer in my life, he seems such a kind, caring human being ❤️

  • You just have no idea how hard teachers work when ur at school, it makes me want to go back and thank them all individually.

  • As a teacher watching this I find some of the teachers behaviours and attitudes 'questionable' to say the very least. But Mr Seer I take my hat off to that man he clearly cares for the kids and want the best for them. I know the kids he teaches will remember him and how he helped them. If I finnish my career with even a quarter of the appreciation and passion he has for his job I'll consider it fulfilling. Well done Mr Seer and all the best

  • 27:51 the face of genuine concern towards mr steer really show show strong their teacher to student relationship is.

  • I didn’t know how much teachers actually do for their students...

    • Love you girl

    • Yes and no

    • They buy us paint, the spend long periods of their free time grading us, they plan out lessons, they teach us, the think about us and yet teenagers claim that they're moody and don't care even though they're the ones that are blatingly misbehaving and stressing their teachers out in the first place...

    • @blahblahblah love you girl

    • @blahblahblah Yes and no

  • Wow you can actually see how much these teachers care

  • I’m not gonna drag Mr Steer he’s obviously so hard working. However, every stress they talked about in this about teaching is exactly how we feel about learning. It’s hard. Taking in all this information that teachers tell us is hard. We are under emotional stress & strain too. We have a life after school. Teaching is your job it’s your life. We still have to go find a job and a life and that’s scary.

  • I wish I had a maths teacher like him. I was in bottom set for maths and I remember my teacher telling our class that half of us aren’t gonna pass anyways.

  • Believe it or not, all teachers for the most part kill themselves to make sure their kids pass and relationships are so so important. It’s so important as a parent to understand the insane dynamics that teachers must deal with. I can so relate to the deputy dude. It’s such a difficult balance to find.

  • Beth,Lauren,Sheridan and whatever the other girl is called literally look like quadruplets 😂 Thanks everyone for 3k lmao also im gathering hannah is the name of the other one😎

  • I was one of those difficult students and I honestly think we should have been shown the teachers perspective more to gain a better understanding of how you should act and why as a student. I just saw teachers as prison guards, didn't have any idea how much effort they put in for our sake and how invested they are in our education.

  • I feel like Lauren s my hairdresser now cause she’s around 25 years old and she lives in thorn hill 😂😂

  • THAT WAS SO CUTE HOW HE LOOKED AT THEIR EXAM RESUTS AND WAS CHEERING THEM ON AND BEING SAD WHEN THEY WERE BAD

  • May God bless him for how much he cares about his students

  • Mr steer needs an award honestly.

  • Mr Steer deserves more appreciation than he gets

  • It's a tough profession. I'm glad I don't teach high school, but then again I've had stand-offs with 5-year old kids in kindergarten. I've been pushed to the point of break-down in a class of 7 & 8 year olds, but they didn't quite manage to push me over the edge. I teach in British Columbia, Canada, in the new era of "positive discipline."

  • Poor mr steers ...I feel awful for him he works so hard he need a holiday he’s the goat

  • this school has such great teachers, they actually care about the students

  • mad respect for Mr steer bro. it was really sad seeing him ill

  • Mr steer is such an incredible person.

  • “When do you need to find the area of a triangle in life. It’s pointless” -unintentional pun

  • all respects to every teacher ever

  • Damn as a student myself Ik what the persective of those lads and girls messing about are. The teacher sits you down, gives you a speech you don't think about it and you just move on. Teachers deserve alot more credit man.

    • I was fed up of people disrupting lessons

  • The problem is that there is too much pressure on teens during GCSE years if they did what college did like making fewer lessons and making them fun students will find it fun and actually revise and enjoy school more

  • Mr Steer is just wholesome. 🥺💖

  • The deputy is the sweetest person ❤️ he deserves better

  • I’d love to see a series where they film in a private school

  • I feel bad for mr Steer he seems so nice and hardworking and there’s people making him stressed and it’s so sad

  • What a great teacher! I wish I had him!

  • hands off to the deputy teacher, he is risking his life just for teaching these kids
