  • @5:35 You do not need direct current to power a light bulb, at least not an incandescent bulb. Similarly, you don't need direct current to power a motor. In fact, most motors require alternating current to run. Even a brush-type motor will run off either AC or DC.

  • Attach the electric motor to sprocket to help spin the wheel. You spin the wheel by hand or a crank and let the electric motor take over eventually with larger capacitors.

  • What if you offset the coils to line up with the magnets seperately instead of all at the same time, it'd be like having a 4 cylinder car engine with all 4 pistons that fire all at the same time instead of alternating them wouldn't run very smooth, it'd be much smoother current if you alternated them

  • You could replace the plate that the wheel rest on with a magnet and put one on the pole with the same polarity. This would reduce friction further if you can compensate for it being pushed out of position.

  • Have you tried using a capacitor to compensate for the flickering? It could be used to absorb some of the energy in the pulse and release between pulses. You could also set up another wheel next to the first with coils in opposite positions than the first to minimize the flickering if you wanted to.

  • I recommend using a Hollow TUBE rather than a solid shaft. The hollow tube is much stronger and more resistant to bending. Just cut the crap rod off the flywheel, drill out the remaining and replace it with a suitable diameter tube.

  • Mr. Stanton, would it be feasible to put a small impeller of sorts on the end of the axel and then run water over it? I would suspect that after a few minutes that thing could be spinning like lightning under a heavy stream! I have a spring at my house which can deliver about 1 gallon every 20 seconds (lots of volume but little pressure) so i was thinking that if I put one of these with a water wheel on the end under the sink which does have a bit of pressure, would it be able to spin up some power and charge a battery?

  • remove the need to have the pin by having opposing magnets on the end of the shaft and the stop plate to push the spindle away from the stop plate

  • Now if you can just get the motor to power the fly wheel. lol. Normally that would not work as it would need more power than the fly wheel could create but since you suspended it to reduce friction. It may produce enough to do just that.

  • No such thing as perpetual motion, or energy. But the flywheel is a good energy storage device

  • u should make a gear ratio engine that can be attached to this so u can get rlly high rpms and have it retractable so u can spin it then just slide it over so its back to levatating.

  • To test practicality, operate it off a solar panel during the day and run your lights at night. Those are generally a high windage item with high loss unless operated inside a vacuum chamber. I would rather use a Lithium battery. Charge it on Monday and use it on Friday with no issues.

  • That balance issue is just too bad, that's a throw it out and start over level of catastrophic failure. You should have lathed the pole out with the flywheel.

  • Too complicated ... The only energy we really need is the energy we can absorb / eat / utilize directly with our bodies and minds = sun + fruits + plants. Funny enough while we shamelesly and childishly still copying Nature we do not give it credit for not only making us possible to meddle arround but also stil feed us despite our continuous efforts to break away from it and ... die, really :) Electricity is not for humans. It is for machines and AI. One could actually say we have fallen prey to some AI ever since the homo-sapiens got it into his system that his the belly button of the Universe... We act as slaves for and AI that moved everything in place arounf all our history to best support its growth and progress without any regard for the welbeing of us or the Planet / Nature... And even more amusingly we are far more powerfull than any AI because we are one with Nature and the Source. AI is non-living consciousness I suspect :)

  • If you use a piece of larger diameter steel tubing, instead of a solid steel shaft, you will not have a bending problem.

  • Is anyone working on interrupting a permanent magnet force field ? As in when the magnetic attraction reaches 80% or so,the field is broken mechanically and normal gravity resumes.This is all in the name of harnessing magnetic force using mechanics. I have come close but the attraction between magnet and the metal increases greatly over a very small space.

  • Dude, you should put a boost converter to have a regulated output and then put a charge manager to have a battery charger. Imagine when there's a blackout and you can charge your phone WITHOUT continuous motion of your hand!

  • The kinetic energy storage (flywheel) practically works, for example, in hospitals during short-term power outages. In the last century, as a child, I regularly traveled to school by gyrobus - it was a bus that spun a two-ton flywheel from the electrical connection at the bus stop and then a motor-generator (asynchronous motor with a short armature) supplied electricity for 4-6 km (to the next bus stops). The gyrobus was used where it was not possible to build an overhead line. Better than Gyrobus was the Capabus - a bus that pumped energy into condensers at bus stops. The problem of flywheels is, in addition to weight and high peripheral speed, that with a larger consumption of electrical energy, the flywheel brakes sharply (Faraday's or Lenz's law). The universe gives nothing for free. :)

  • If you’d put the capacitor in parallel with the output leads it should have smoothed out the pulses and created a more consistent dc voltage

  • That's amazing I appreciate content just like this starts off simple displays of magic that even entices the younger kids and then it becomes a scientific education. I wonder since temperature heat is the number one enemy of circuitry electronics if the self-propelling flywheel was housed like a faraday cage but once they're further eliminating the exposure to the temperature of the room along with the oxygen exposure and with that in mind having additional controls to see if there's any fluctuation of performance based on lowering the temperature raising the temperature and vice versa interacting with the low temperature and more oxygen content allowed and the opposite of that I'm just curious if it also makes a difference if it was enclosed like a faraday cage with a clear plexiglass or a darkened which requires a camera inside I wonder if the exposure to right in itself makes a difference in production much like light traveling through glass and slows it down I keep wondering if it's because it's transparent as it passed through the glass it slows it down because it could not see a reflection of itself because glasses transparent not mirrored.

  • By sending an alternating current through the coils you could use them to spin up the flywheel and it would become a true storage battery.

  • You could merge this with your compressed air stuff, use the shaft to power a compressor which pushes air onto the wheel the spin it faster.

  • I see they used water in pipes to move people about a few hundred years ago there are still the tunnels left today but mostly cemented in

  • So with that in mind, quite neat I might add. Wouldn't it be possible with enough coils and alternator discs to power a much larger motor and the attach it to the main axle and basically create an infinite power source/ perpetual motion machine?

  • Nice explanation but lacking mention of 2 elephants in your room. 1. Could you use the motor to turn the flywheel therefore creating perpetual motion? (haha no) 2. The alternator would drag on the flywheel therefore the more current you draw, the quicker the flywheel will lose speed effectively draining the kinetic energy battery more quickly.

  • I cant believe that Im watching this and you never made the connection of how to make it continue to work with no outside force. So simple but you dont see it???? Then you go into promoting a 3d printer that could further the use of this...perplexed. Your on the cusp of unlimited power. need to overcome the wobble to. You added elements to the wrong point of your design as well. Just my opinion wish I could tell you more.

  • Now add magnets on an angle on the outside of the large flywheel and another larger magnet to push causing it to keep turning on its own then it will produce constantly without having to turn by hand. Be cool to charge a cell phone with.
