Hey I got an idea. Embiid Steph and KD to the Lakers in a three team trade for Westbrook AD and future pick. This way LeBron gets all the help he needs wins a chip in year 20 and we can say hes the GOAT who did it all by himself while also making Steph, KD and Embiid better.

Two words Greeny: too late. This trade should have been on the table a couple of months ago when AD was lighting it up and you know, actually playing regularly. Now that AD is hobbling through the season again, the demand for him will not be as high, and there's still the Russ elephant in the room. How does that chemistry work once you've effectively given away the only assets you had to package Russ with? This would have been a great idea in November, now it's just a hindsight segment.

Why would the Lakers trade one injury prone player for another older injury prone player? And KD wouldn’t want to be 2nd fiddle.
But then the idea of possibly landing Kyrie in the off season would go out the window. Durant may never want to play with Kyrie ever again after what he did to him with the nets. As much as Durant and Lebron would be a cool duo, AD and Lebron fit better because AD has all world defense when he's out there. Both Durant and AD are injury prone, and AD is younger.

I'm sorry, but of you can't understand why those picks are valuable to the Lakers specifically, maybe you shouldn't be on TV giving basketball takes. Those picks aren't going to be as valuable to other franchises who haven't mortgaged their future to win now. Yes, they will likely be lottery picks, but even most lottery picks don't turn out to be all stars, let alone generational talents like Kevin Durant. But because the Lakers have sold everything else, trading these picks for solid role players like Myles Turner or Buddy Heild I'd out of the question. LeBron won't stay with the Lakers after Bronny enters the league and he's already going on 40. AD is unlikely to "get over" being injury prone. So say LeBron stays another 2 years. 2 years after he leaves, what are the Lakers going to look like? Probably pretty sorry. Those picks are the only thing they have to rebound from that position. You mortgage your future for superstars, not role players. In 2027 that (likely) lottery pick is gonna look a whole lot better than an aging Myles Turner or Buddy Hield. But have nowhere near the value of a Kevin Durant to a team like the Brooklyn Nets that is still sitting on a bunch of picks.
