Congrats to the panthers, they were one minute away of being eliminated in the 1st round and now they are heading to the finals. A true cinderella story.
Not just that but they beat the best team in the regular season and the craziest part about it was that they were down 3-1 and came back to win in seven.
And they only made the playoffs becouse pens won their last regular season game which bumped florida to take the wildcard slot. (atleast thats what i heard)

I guess when Florida beat Boston in the first round that year, it was only a minor upset, but after that Florida would go on to win two series that the pundits gave them no chance to win, just like this year. I just got into hockey and was informed that Carolina got swept in the conference finals, not 1, but 3 times!!! Wow, I wish I would have known that before the series started. Congrats to Clutchchuk (anti-Jayson Tatum) and the Florida Panthers. I expect Vegas to be the absolute best matchups and see one of the greatest championships in sports history.

I was at game 4 in 1996 watching my Panthers being swept but was part of one of the greatest games played that night. I’ve waited 27 years for this moment! Combined with the Heat, south Florida is gonna be championship country this year!

This Florida team is on a roll. They were so close to not making the playoffs, and then so close to being knocked out in the first round. Now they feel like they'll find a way to win any game they play. A 4-0 sweep doesn't do justice as to how competitive this series was. Maybe it was a sweep but we got 2 OT games (5 total extra periods). All games decided by 1 goal. Almost like a 6 Game series all decided by 1 goal. It is one of the best series of all the Playoffs. Because the winner will take the Cup. Go Panthers!!!

I honestly saw this coming! If you have kept up with this team all season long offense and power play have been incredibly weak. I knew it was only a matter of time until our luck ran out. There was like a 10 game streak in the regular season where the only players that scored goals was our Blue line defenseman. It was fun to watch and it won us some games, but with that if your star players aren't showing up and putting pucks in the back of the net Aho,Necas, Jarvis etc that isn't a recipe for a Stanley Cup. Those guys I named were an absolute no show in the Florida series and that was the nail in the coffin. Got to get our offensive woes and PP inconsistency figured out during the off season. Better luck next season

after four games you have to admit that Carolina was neither mentally ready nor did they try their luck. instead, they were struck by bad luck and played dizzy by the Panthers. Not mentally ready? I think you're way offbase with that. I think they showed incredible toughness and mental fortitude...just in game 4 they lost two more people during the game and came back not once, but twice....and it took the Refs stealing the game away in the last minute for them to lose.
This is Eric Staal's 18th NHL season. It would have been his 20th if it had not been for the 2004-2005 NHL Lockout, and him not being signed by any NHL team for the 2021-2022 season. He also played in three shortened seasons - the 2012-2013 lockout, and 2-COVID seasons - 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Eric Staal would have had 500 NHL goals by now. He scored 14 goals this season and currently stands at 455 career goals. He is 45 goals shy of 500. He can get his 500th NHL goal by scoring 15 goals each season for the next three seasons. No word yet on what will happen to Eric Staal after this season. Will Florida re-sign him? Does he want to keep playing? Does he want the 500th goal? Will any other team sign him? Will he retire? If Florida wins the Stanley Cup this season, he should return! He could be the 50th or 51st member of the NHL 500+ goals club. His competition for the # 50 spot is Patrick Kane. @Ess Be I think it was a brutal call as well, they shouldn’t of had a PP to begin with. Definitely wasn’t enough to make a call for goalie interference from Bennett tho. It’ll be an interesting Stanley cup finals that’s for sure.
IDK how I feel about that last goal. A stick to the crotch on the goalie SEEMS like it'd be interference to me. But nobody really knows what goalie interference actually is anymore so there's that. Either team advancing is a good. Bob's back on the case and looking like his CBJ days are back. I pitty anyone shooting against Bob for the cup.
Florida still would have won in OT, but the game winner should have been goalie interference. Bennett got his stick stuck in Andersen's pads when he put it back down after a stick check by Andersen. But since Bennett was in the blue paint and did not control his stick to avoid contact with Andersen, I think it's a clear goalie interference. Pesce falling down made it hard for Bennett to remove his stick, but by that time Tkachuk already had the space he needed to score.
