  • Its quite amazing that it took so long for software to mod the key layouts. I always found doing it in windows was a little harder than it should have been.

  • A keyboard that was built for home rowing.

  • GIVE THIS TO TARAN

  • If anyone's wondering why it comes with an alternate escape key that fits where capslock goes, there *is* actually a reason and it's not just "oh you can reprogram your keyboard however you want!"-mapping capslock to escape is actually a pretty common keyboard configuration amongst programmers who use vim (who are exactly the sort of people who would buy a keyboard from S76), in much the same way that, say, I map capslock to control because I use emacs. Nobody was wondering, by all odds...

  • ooooo, this guy looks creepy af, thats all ill say rn

  • $285? for a north facing LED keyboard that doesn't even supports VIA? Kind of a scam ngl

  • hmmmm. that's a really good price... But I'm currently spending $200 every 2 weeks on my custom Water-Cooled Linux powered i9 9960X SFFPC in a Cerberus X case... Having gone through 4 store-bought mechanical keyboards (all sold on, or given as a gift to friends, i didn't like cherry and gateron browns), & 2 custom mechanical keyboards that I own (with Gateron greens, & Zealio V1's, IDK if I'm ready for another just yet. So so tempting though.

  • where is the macro king

  • Did you hear that back plate hit the desk?? It sounded like a man hole cover! Lol

  • "oh wow this keyboard looks awesome" 285.00 $ nvm

  • Are the modified layouts saved on board?

  • i now want to know how to sponsor a video just becuase

  • at about 8:22 he types "typing a thing"

  • Wow that layout is disgusting, half of the modifier keys are non-standard sizes that even a keycap set with a huge base kit would not cover.

  • Based

  • That is one solid keyboard construction :-)

  • Too laud and I don't like these high keys anymore. I would prefer Keychron K3, low profile.

  • I recognize the programming port. It seem to be for a Tag-Connect JTAG plug-of-nails. We switched to those in our PCBs at the last place I worked at. They are so much better than having to solder headers for dev work.

  • I'm buying this kit just to get the larger ESC key to use on my vortex race

  • That board sounds like ass

  • I ordered mine early on LAUNCH day and Still have not received it. Mind you not the most expensive Mechanical Keyboard I own or will own. Also not 285 when all said and done closer to 400+. But still cheaper than the Mechanical Keyboard + 10 key I built with CHERRY MX RGB BLUE.

  • Keyboard is amazing! Crazy! Price is a tiny bit high, but then, keyboard is pretty amazing.

  • LIKE THE VIDEO CUZ ANTHONY IS HOSTING THE VIDEO

  • No printscreen.

  • CAPSLOCK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT KEY; WTF R U DOOOIIINNNG!!!!!!!!

  • gimme ortholinear and i'll get it! but the standard staggered layout is so engrained in people's minds, i'll be forever confined to group buys :(

  • I'm all of a sudden not happy with what I have. I WANT IT! Take my Money!

  • Anthony, you are a joy!

  • "man I might buy that", *checks price* "holy shit, pass."

  • Can't most large brand companies already do this?

  • This keyboard is incredibly well put together. Most high-end custom mechanical keyboard chassis don't really stray from simple shapes, so it's really cool to see something a bit more specialised like this

  • When i see Anthony in the thumbnail its an instant click, mate i love your work. Love from Australia =D

  • red dragon sucks

  • Pure sound system vibes on my new Steppers Dub productions. Give them a try in my chan!

  • This or a model F repro. (I am aware they both cater to different buyers)

  • i'DoNt liKE iT, sO NeRDy! XD

  • HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY CAPSLOCK

  • Taran and Marco video part 4?

  • Anthony needs more screen time he's Fing AWESOME

  • I don't know whether this would have been a better fit for Taran but, it does seem weird that Anthony's doing a keyboard that's made from macros. I guess it more is just how short-circuit works that led to this. Maybe an LTT featuring Anthony and Taran?

  • now make itd dvorak

  • If only that keyboard had a trackpoint and a left, right, and middle mouse keys. Then I'm sold! Otherwise, take that hot garbage out of my sight NOW!!!1111 ****Caresses Shinobi Tex Keyboard with cherry mx silent red keys****

  • This keyboard is perfect for those old games that didn't let you change the controls :p.

  • In regards to the $285 asking price, I suspect a lot of us who use pop_os but don't have any other S76 hardware see that as a major value proposition for this thing.

  • Please review Framework Laptop.

  • 285 for a top mount is a little steep ngl, just get a kbd67 LITE

  • System 76 is pretty sweet. With Windows 11 being online only I'm seriously considering a switch to Linux.

  • Wowww Dennis now is responsible for QC now ....... what a long way

  • Can you make it so if you press one key it actually is equivalent to pressing many? For example, if I press Fn+a == Ctrl + Alt + Del

  • Dude. Its time to commit to the baldness. The longer you wait the harder it gets for yourself, and the peope around you to get used to it

  • Ends up at almost 500usd in europe :|

  • Whelp just finished a 65% cuz I couldn't find an 84 key and now this pops up. Fml time to spend more money

  • “$285 is a lot for a keyboard” r/MK: *“that’s a pretty decent budget board”*

  • 285 dollar kb

  • Easy swap switches for jades are unnecessary. Once you clack, you never go back.

  • orrrr... one of the Drop CTRL boards with Open Source drivers on Linux perhaps? no Topre Switch options? No default PBT caps? Lights surely shine through the stock keycaps right?

  • I hope they make a price drop, it looks good but it is too expensive.

  • I already have a nice split keyboard, but this looks great. I am really looking forward to System 76 designing their own laptops to see what they come up with.

  • Did Taran left LTT ?

  • Okay but what does Taran think about it?

  • I thought there's a mini Linux PC inside of it. But it's just a keyboard 🤣

  • Glarses incoming

  • Would be nice if an open source project like this used industry standard open source VIA compatible firmware instead of proprietary software.

  • People who use vim sometimes like to remap caps lock to escape. thats why they have the large escape

  • i can hear those clicks across the border

  • You forgot one of the best things. It saves all the presets on de keyboard most keyboards saves it on the computer. You can just configure it once and bring it to another pc en the settings are still the same without the software needed

  • Can you review the mantis q40 for techy Bois with no eyeball power?

  • Man, an actually competent keyboard video from ltt!!!

  • You should check out the #UltimateHackingKeyboard

  • When its Anthony doing the review, I don't even consider the product. I simply watch it.

  • I like this company and want to support them, but the cheapest thing they sell is a keyboard for almost 3 bills. Yeesh.

  • i so thought the sponsor was going to be ifixit, would of legit been good timing (for once) haha.

  • Damn Tony needs his own channel

  • What watch is that Anthony is wearing?

  • No thank you !

  • Wouldn't have mind that price if it was like Raspberry Pie actually launching *Pop!_OS*

  • /laughs in keyboard enthusiast/

  • pretty cool keyboard

  • Honestly, I myself don't see the point of this keyboard. People have been used to the keyboard layout for decades, I don't see people wanting to change that themselves. But as long as you love it and are willing to learn your own customized keyboard layout, then that's all that matters. I do love the clicky sound of it though uwu

  • please review garuda linux

  • yikes north facing switches...

  • Is this creature a Twitch moderator?

  • Is this creature a Twitch moderator?

  • Macros saved on the hardware itself are nice… so long as the onboard memory doesn’t fie. I honestly find it hard to do without my mouse with onboard profiles and customizations.

  • Me: *Looks at 6-month-old keyboard on desk* *Clicks this video*

  • No bluetooth, what a shame, it would be an instabuy if it had it

  • You can do anything you like with it! So.. like type stuff i guess? But nice anyways.

  • Man this is too much... I cant even comprehend the need nerds have for RGBs

  • For 285$ one could make a banger custom keyboard that is QMK/VIA compatible...

  • Wanted to just know what about latency on these custom keyboards

  • Good kb sold to suckerz

  • They need cheaper and full size

  • Anthony talking about Linux and open source related stuff never disappoints! More please!

  • Anthony is a nice guy. That’s true. But he’s so overrated. I don’t know why people just overrate him and mock Linus. Without Linus no one would even know his existence. Facts.

  • i think you didn't motivate the product enough, why would someone need to customize their keyboard layout?

  • I did not need to know this exists. I now need this.

  • I gotta say, I'm not the target customer for System76 products. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what they are doing to the tech space with their Linux computers, Linux Phone, and now this keyboard. They seem like a sweet company who are making products that they feel will make the tech market better, even if it's only for the a niche croud within the tech market. Like I said, I'm not their target customer. But that doesn't mean they don't make some seriously sweet products!

  • The larger escape key goes where it's supposed to be, replaces the stupid caps lock key.

  • what does open source mean to you? well, for me it means free code that anyone can use and change to their hearts content

  • Ah, let me introduce you to the beautiful world of QMK
