Hi Flats....Worst match I ever played. I have seen smurfs ruin a match before: however, our team was talking about what they were doing. They were rolling us and, then, would allow us to win when we were on attack. At the very end, the doom insisted that he/she was going to let us win. The two of us knew that that was not going to happen.

I've been through this sort of thing as well. I stayed for 6 rounds but after the dps Moira and Widow spawncamped me I almost put my foot through the monitor. It was at that point I said never again to comp.

@7VII its low level bullying, not a big deal but still bullying i guess. I doubt the mercy even cares anymore, but it can still ruin your night if its this annoying.
That's the only win they are getting in their lives. Although it's frustrating for normal players in game you can be sure that 95% of this smurf people are living a sad life. This is literally the only satisfaction they have and the thing is they spent probably thousands of hours to reach that.

This went from amusing to sad REAL fast. As a support main who has the most hours on Mercy, I feel so bad for Rosemary. Just like I would, she made the swaps to try to be able to EVEN PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME AT ALL, and still got that treatment. Teabagged by these guys even. And boy, are the smurfs' mechanics garbage. I also bet that Rosemary got a similar response I sometimes do - I tell my team that some enemy is a big threat or a smurf, and in their own ego, my teammates will say "Nah they aren't that good." And it's like, yeah because they are ignoring you and you aren't paying attention to what's happening to everyone else. I hear this ALL THE TIME at mid elos, and it's honestly so frustrating because it shows an imbalance between their ego and their gamesense. I really hope Rosemary finds this video somehow and gets some vindication. Even Flats said she made decent swap attempts. That shows she might have more gamesense than these 2 idiots bullying her, taking their ranks into consideration especially.
I feel this, as a newer Mercy main this would happen a lot. It's just them genuinely targetting people to make the game unfun and I hope Rosemary sees this and takes Flats opportunity

Even middle elos like gold or plat you have smurfs that will start throwing if you do one thing you don’t like. It’s so awful, I’ve never had a second account on any game I’ve played idk why anyone would want to.

@Wendigo374 having a second account isn't bad in itself. As long as you play to the best of your ability, you will quickly be placed in the correct MMR. It's throwing/trolling that's bad, whether on a new account or old.

The “throw Defense, Roll Attack” is a SUPER normal Smurf game. And yeah these two are Gold/Plat. Smurfs usually like to chill two ranks below their main. You get a lot of Masters in Plat, GM in Diamond that sorta thing. Edit: I had a T500 friend who off rolled with us in Diamond. One time the enemy team had 4 guys he knew from the Ladder, said they do this shit, he even asked them not to in chat. So when it hit over time and they were letting us push payload he said “Just get off, they’ll keep this going forever.” People like this are just the worst.
The person in the video that sent the video was 700 sr. So they were playing in bottom 500, which means the 2 smurfs Probably bought account. Gold players arn't that good, doom was diamond most likely
Yea, but smurfing isn't a problem in this game, right? /s I had a similar experience where both enemy DPS just spawn camped my support partner, and he was in voice chat telling us that he was intentionally trying to fire them up so that they would keep doing it and feed us an easy win. Told my GM friend about it later, and it was two people he duos with sometimes. I was like, I fucking hate all of you so much.
@Brian Joe DF was definitely not diamond. Was gold, plat at the very best. The Ana was maybe gold, the way she threw random sleep darts. Even if he didn't play Ana at all, looks like he was maybe 2200-2500 not much more

I feel Rosemary's pain, I think I was low gold or high silver at the time and there was a smurf Tracer and she targeted me, I thought it was just cause I was Zen so switch to Mercy and she continued to spawn camp me even after I switch to Brig, I asked multiple times for my team to help me and they told me I should be able to kill her myself... I was being spawn camped and yelled at by my team. Which is why I don't solo que support anymore. I always play with my sister now and she Mains Reinhardt and she destroys anyone who even looks at me. When we tank/dps, we always protect our supports. If your supports ask for help, help them ffs

I’m a great support and pretty good off tank but I have an alt to practice being a main tank. I don’t go in to be malicious to people I go in to learn a new skill, I’m a plat off tank but my main tank is silver slowly getting better but bro Reinhardt is much harder than I thought.

Just imagine how pathetic these guys' life is if they only can assert themselves at the expense of players that are in ranks lower than theirs. I've been in the same situation as Rosemary here. A Tracer/Mercy duo spawn camped me for the last half of the game. But here's the thing, I let them because my team was actually winning. So when it got close to the end, I just changed to Sombra, walked right around them and to point to help my team win. I danced on the Tracer's dead body. It was a good time. Their team was pissed. The Tracer sent me a bunch of slurs in chat, which was just the icing on the shitcake.
This happened to me while I was in bronze. I was playing Mercy on Dorado (defense) and the enemy Tracer and Zen spawncamped me mercilessly. I tried everything, leaving through that tunnel on the right side of first defense spawn, flying to my soldier, trying to 1v1 the Zen etc. After about 4 deaths I stopped leaving spawn and just crouch spammed at them until their team lost the round because they left them to 4v5
I also had this happen to me on Nepal but that's because I was a dumbass and typed to them that they should have been aborted after they first spawncamped. So obviously after that they only targeted me. Were also asking for my snap and stuff just to rub the humiliation in. That game was pretty shit

For me one of the best feelings is having someone suffering from a smurf, and me being an Ana main just bashing them with sleep darts. It happened more often than I can think. i was never a smurf, I don't like that and don't see the point. But to see Masters and GM's just sleeping and me teabagging because they tried to kill me is the best feeling
unfortunately this is so common in low elo. literally every other game i play looks like this. smurfs spawn camping and targeting the mercy and dragging out the game for the fun of it. i've played a game in bronze where the enemy team was a whole team of smurfs and they would rinse us until it was near overtime and suddenly all of them would just back off so we could push cart to next checkpoint and then they would rinse us again and this happened at every checkpoint ALL GAME on havana. they were also toxic in chat joking abt how they weren't smurfing and pretending to not know how the game works... ruined the game for my team just cuz some smurfs wanted a power trip. small dick energy to the smurfs who do this honestly.
I've noticed smurfs like doing that. The "I'm not a smurf, i'm new" bullshit. As soon as someone says that line, I know for a fact they're a smurf.
@TableWrens I mean i have played since 2017 but i got called a smurf when i started this game and no one believed that i was not smurfing. I was cs/League player on a high level on both. I get you where you come from though, like over 90% of the low level players are smurfs nowadays but there are also new ones with alot of FPS background like Apex,Valorant,cs and they can overaim as dps or support diamonds easily.
Just stop playing. Don't even bother. Don't leave spawn. Run out all the timers, so their victory is worthless, if they want to "win" by harassing you, fine, fight not to lose. If you don't lose, they can't win. If you don't engage them and just keep dancing around and occasionally do shit to keep from being kicked due to inactivity, then, perfect. Make them spend as much time in your game as possible so they can impact as few games as possible if you do decide to engage though.
This happens A TON in low bronze. Usually 1-3 smurfs on a team that just keep spawncamping one person. Just last night I got a Lucio booping people form spawn door on Ilios. And the worst part is, these guys want to stay on bronze, so they throw half the matches but still do this shit just to frustrate low ranked players.

the lucio spawn boop on well isnt really a throw tactic or anything, its a good strategic move especially if its an ana or something that contributes way more to the fight than a lucio. unless it's like rush v rush or something your team will benefit more from you spawncamping a high value enemy (which has the added benefit of stopping them from building their ult while giving you free ult charge) than you just sitting around and like healbotting or something
i'm sorry but if you fall for a lucio booping you off in spawn more than once, that's 100% on you. bronze or not

I had this happen to me when I first started playing ow, truly a humiliating and discouraging experience. I didn’t play comp for a year after, tried again a few months ago and climbed from 1000 sr to high plat :)
The thing about it is that this happens ALOT more often than you’d think in Bronze. Theyre just games you never hear about cuz the frustrated players usually don’t stick around til the end, they’ll figure it’s not worth it and find a different lobby.

I started playing Overwatch about 4 months ago. So I'm super late to the party. Smurfs have completely ruined the experience for me in competitive. I tried ranking up or at least having fun in bronze but all I ever get are smurfs trolling me from the enemy team or teammates who are account selling and throwing games by choosing Mei and trapping me in the spawn room with her abilities. I just do quick play now and just focus on having fun. I really hope Overwatch 2 fixes this because I like this game but honestly I don't have much hope. No matter how well I play it's all a disheartening experience for me. This video hurt to watch as a Mercy main because it perfectly shows what's going on with this game.
Why don't you duo queue or even a full 6 stack?
I started a week ago i'm in plat rn smurfs are pretty annoying mainly just genjis and doom fist i can out aim most gms and top500 i just dont have game sense. Also if you're maining support you probably want to have a DPS in your stack to climb

Have a look online for discord clans and find people around your level to play with if you find a large enough one you could probably 6v6 in customs with people of all ranks who may help you get better
I had a game like this once and the Smurf squad kept the game hostage just like this. They were also throwing slurs and being super racist in match chat. It was actually crazy. Don’t play after midnight folks lol
yup, it made me stop playing comp even tho i was only 4sr to diamond (i know its't rubbish but for me, it was my personal best). as a rule of thumb, about 2-3 games out of 5 were like this.

Smurfs were the reason I almost stopped playing this game, it just felt impossible to enjoy comp games at my skill level when not only would victory be decided by whichever team got the smurf who picked whether their team won or lost, but even when I or another person at this skill level made a big play it became hard to appreciate it since people would just dismiss it as smurfing, which felt nice the first time but after that just became aggravating. It's not until a friend boosted me up a bit higher that the smurf count went down and I was able to enjoy games, sure I struggled at first but i was able to improve a lot faster since I could see what worked and what didn't much better as nothing worked vs smurfs and eventually climbed even higher on my own. If they did not boost me up I'd have probably quit, which unfortunately not everyone has that kind of friend, not to mention in order to save me we had to yet again perpetuate the cycle by ruining the enemies' game.
First Tings First: Smurfing to ruin the games of lower ranks and preventing them from climbing or getting better is scummy as all heck. I firmly believe that smurfing to derank and ruin peoples' games to prevent them from climbing should be bannable. Second: The doom/ana are 100% the same duo I played against in placements. I had the duo on my team one game, then the next I was against them. Smurfs are NOT fun to go against. Third: My heart goes out to that Mercy, and all support players who have had to deal with something like this. Everyone deserves a chance to climb and grow on their own, not have smurfs (or anyone) ruin their game for them and de-motivate them.

As someone who has been the healer that gets spawn-camped and harassed like Rosemary was, I am furious at their teammates for not helping them out

I know in the past, you've railed against smurf account complaints, but it seems that you're starting to understand that this is what we mean by smurfs and that alt accounts are mutually exclusive from these ass clowns, Flats. Had a silver bronze 6 stack one time get paired against a 6 stack of smurfs on Nepal that decided they would not cap point and hold us in spawn until we would leave. We did manage eventually to win a fight and cap point on them and their response was "Well we were going to mess around and then give you a win, but because of that we're going to shit all over you now". We reported every one of them, but none of us got responses from the auto-responder, so obviously Blizz is okay with that. Remember, these "people" probably place gold to plat on these accounts and then throw games to get to those SR's ruining all those games and then they throw games at that SR to stay there so they can have fun ruining other people's experience. We try to take a deep breath and move on and not complain because creators like yourself tell us it's fine and to get over it, but it's utterly demoralizing and discourages this part of the community from getting better.
If these people hard throw their placements they can place around 1300-1500, trust me Ive done it. Then they lose around 100sr for the next 5 matches, and after about 10 matches they lose/gain normal sr. They will legit be 700-800 sr in a couple hours after placements and it will take them a week or so depending on how long they play to go back to gold/plat
Unfortunately, Blizzard's report system generally works with the number of reports instead of them looking into individual reports.
Smurfing has absolutely fucked the ranked ecosystem diamond and below tbh. My game quality is absolutely fucked because of how many smurfs there are down here. I will straight up go from a game where it is far too easy and the enemies are pushovers. To games where it is an insta lose because 1-3 players on the other team are clearly just not at the rank they are supposed to be and will wipe the floor with us. It's at the point where it's rare to find a game in plat/gold where all players are actually at the rank they are supposed to be. It makes games so much more of a struggle and just makes the game unfun in general. These selfish people pretty much ruin the ranked experience for everyone else. I don't want to play ranked anymore because of the way games are nowadays
Imo the experience is waaay worse in like 2k range atleast in the start/ending of every season. People derank at start and again at the end. +All the people making new accounts and deranking or ranking them up. I agree though that the experience in high plat has been incredibly unbalanced for a while. Also there are ALLOT of cheaters atm. Soo many people with wallhacks and aimbot/triggerbots it's insane. The difference in gameplay imo is still Waay worse in the 2k range because people get boosted to absolute shit. Like no offense meant to gold tank players but sometimes when I'm playing dps in like mid gold I swear half of the tanks I get have no idea what they are doing/have 0 thought process going on of what ults enemies have and just walk into 10 million damage for no reason.

But if they make the same rotation 4 times in a row that didn't work the first 3 times and after the second time I make a suggestion that's valid and explain quickly why (like simply saying because it saves shield) and you quite literally refuse I donno.. Like I'm 2.8-2.9k tank, my profile is open. If we are playing Nepal shrine and the rein on our team walks main 2 times and his shield breaks mid way and he dies that's fine. But if I then say can we go via the mega and not main? It saves you shield because your not walking such a long way directly towards them and he straight up refuses because he says that it's not true I don't know what else to do. Like how can you not figure out that walking from the rooms with the mega towards point is a shorter distance then main? It just pisses me off because you literally lose games because ppl refuse to listen to anyone else. Even if i say look at my profile, you can think I'm wrong that's fine just try it once and it it doesnt work we do it your way again. They just tell you fuck you and feed again. Very rarely I get games where tanks will listen to suggestions/advice. I don't micro manage them or anything like that, I just ask ( can we go highground or) can I plz make the suggestion that we do this or that or rein can we play at a corner because they have soldier visor/deadeye or could swap this tank to that and I explain it in like 5 seconds of why. I never say that they are shit. It sounds like micro managing, but it like 5 times in like 15 min game. I don't tell them shield, hammer or whatever. If I ask for a hero swap I say can we plz swap zarya to Dva or sigma? It's not because you can't play zarya but her kit doesn't really work well against this or that and dva's does so you will have a much easier time. I don't tell them zarya is basically the worst pick against a pocketed Ashe and soldier and double shield comp on junkertown first point because you can't close the gap and farm grav because of the range etc.
These 2 literally remind me of people I used to be on a college Overwatch team with. They would smurf just to make themselves feel important. Totally disgusting, but also hilarious to see them embarrass themselves

I've had this happen to me lot as a low rank support player. It's true that your team won't even notice that this is happening, and the smurfs really DO this more often if you're playing Mercy. Usually I would switch too, but it feels great actually killing those idiots as Mercy when they think you can't shoot :'D
I had a game like this mad me so freaking furious. I posted it on Reddit and guys were really saying I just need to get good and just switch to someone who can get out of that situation. But when you have like two guys just constantly camping you out and soloing you. It's very frustrating, one of the reasons I haven't gone back to okay Overwatch in awhile. Bad matchmaking when I play and the players aren't fun to listen to either in comms or in voice chat. I always get the comments you suck at tank, or DPS. Or the occasional our healers are trash. The ones that get me the most are the ones that say like EZ after a win when it was 6 against 4. It was like every game I was constantly rolled on. Every game, I know I'm not the greatest fps player but yet I constantly get ragged on because I'm not good at all.
I'm so sad and mad for rosemary, Ive been against those types in silver and it's just always a bad time. Flats I hope you find this person or this person sees your vid!
As someone who got spawn-camped as Mercy many many times... Rosemary, you don't deserve this and I know you were crying like I was! They did absolutely amazing, though! They're for sure an amazing teammate.

This used to happen to me alot, I'm a mercy main and literally I would get fully camped normally because I was specifically mercy, I've had people throw my games coz I picked mercy and if I complained I would get told I was making excuses and was just bad , I've climbed since and am now plat . Ya know I hate to pull out gender, but I seriously think its some dumbass dudes being misogynistic and hating girls that main mercy. I would see them do this constantly whenever a girl admits to being a “mercy main”, they would instantly get harassment or made fun of. It was so bad that my girlfriend wouldn’t even touch mercy because she didn’t want to be seen like that. My little sister was also scared of playing mercy for the same reasons. Its so sad man, like as a person who plays supp a lot, mercy is my 2nd most played, shes just a very convenient supp to play. But even if you like mercy just cuz you thinks shes cute and you connect with her character , there is absolutely nothing wrong with that either. Guys do rhe same shit with doom, genji, cass, reaper, etc.

I literally had people say I love upsetting mercy mains and throwing their games ... he then proceeded to throw my game obviously 🙄 luckily I was with most of my squad I usually play with so we pulled through without his influence. I just started playing ow2 and just been playing qp, not rank, and people get mad there if you pick mercy. Had someone literally leave the game because of it. Comp seems like hell if that's how ppl are in qp
I can almost GUARANTEE the previous game they had Rosemary on their team, and she spoke as a girl, and that’s why they targeted her. It would fit every aspect of who those two are.

I've experienced this a lot in bronze where 2 Smurfs can control the game so much by smurfing one round and throwing the next, they extend the game out for as long as possible. A lot of us in bronze know we are terrible and try sooo hard to improve but people like this make the game unbearable. And they most likely bullied the healer because that person spoke up in chat about them.
I had two of my tanks on a hanamura game do the exact same (I'm gold and was playing with my bronze friend) and whilst throwing on defend, my team 4v6ed successfully and cut the game short. After they start trash talking the enemy team for losing to us the entire lobby starts flaming them lmao. My genji potg proved my point that they weren't good at the game and should leave me/my lobbies alone

god, poor rosemary. when i was in bronze this would happen to me all the time. luckily i had higher ranked friends who came in and basically boosted me because that shit had me hardstuck. we'd play QP together all the time and i wouldn't have trouble, and they were so confused on why i couldn't climb until they joined me in ranked matches. i hope we find rosemary!

I’ve played a lot of games like this. ( in bronze myself) Basically the smurfs target an individual player because they feel like they are the “ easiest or worst “ player on the enemy team and just do it so that player rages and quits. I usually go back if this is happening and help that teammate that is getting spawn killed. I’d rather lose the match then have someone hate the game/have a bad day cause some people being douches as smurfs 😐 I don’t mind people smurfing, but doing so and only going after one single person to make them feel bad sucks
Hell yeah dude. I'd absolutely go Rein or Hogg or Sigma and help that Mercy or die trying. I think it's just good gamesense to wait a few seconds for your support to spawn if you've seen them just die, anyway

I've had this happen to me quite a few times and have seen it a lot. It's usually a duo that just single a person out (usually a support player or a new player) and spawn camp them the entire game. It's awful and its just bullying. It only ever happened to me on alt accounts when they are new, and since I'm not new at the game, I could defend myself by simply going brig or lucio and wrecking them. Since usually these bullies are plat or diamond, it's not that hard to kill them. But it always pains me seeing it happen to others who can't defend themselves. This video just reminded me of one game I was in, on a brand new account for my tank role and a duo on the enemy team started to spawn camp our Moria. This Moria was just a kid that was brand new to the game. He was really nice and excited to play the game, and he was having fun on the mic and everything but that didn't last long. Once they started spawn camping him, he asked them to stop in the text chat, they were really mean and did it more. He realized what they were doing and that they weren't gonna stop and broke down crying, saying that "it's just like school". He seemed genuinely hurt. It was tough to hear. Video games are supposed to be a friendly place that people can escape into. These types of smurfs need to be banned.

I had a game that lasted exactly like this one and they spawn camped us on oasis and didn’t touch point for half an hour. Pretty sure they had like 100 elims by the end of it

I got a 7 day ban for throwing but stomping in a 6 stack. Took about 50 games before I got banned.

This actually happened to me once as well in bronze, one dps and one healer might have been the same people. This happened like a year ago and if its the same people then it means they have been doing it for a year. The game lasted 8 rounds, I wish I saved it.
This feels VERY familiar!! I had a Silver Hanamura game where I got spawn camped as Mercy all game by a Winston-Moira smurf duo. I switched to every other support to try and get out - I think it was Bap's field or poss Valk that got me furthest. Luckily, my Zarya & Moira noticed (I don't have VC so could only spam 'I need help' in text chat) and came back to help me at one point, but I still couldn't get out very far. We won though!! The duo spent so much time away from point trolling me that they were down a support and tank on point - so when my Moira went back to cap it we won the fight. F***ers.
tbh, I think Ana healing the wall etc. wasn't to fool their teammates into thinking the Ana was trying... it was to lower the accuracy, etc. stats to be less obvious about smurfing.

@Luke you will never get better at a hero if you don’t play them, you are always going to be ass when you start, there’s no point in bullying noobs because being a noob is a necessary point of development, it’s stupid to expect mastery immediately from anyone, even if they aren’t new to the hero it doesn’t matter if they are ass, it’s a game and you need to grow up and accept that it’s really not as important as you think and definitely not worth bullying someone over.

@Luke considering she was actively trying to get away from them and tried switching to escape spawn I'd say she noticed. You seem to have not even noticed that despite it being highlighted several times in the video. She didn't battle mercy all game either she understands her role as mercy. Go watch ml7's unranked to gm for mercy and see just how much there is to think about and learn as mercy. She's not an easy or braindead hero.
I'd definitely be the one player who says, "Yeah, yeah. Go out there and chase some kills while I sit on cart." Then when the team is off the cart, I'd step off and end the match. I 110% do not endorse this buffoonery of holding the game hostage like this and will end it because screw those two smurfing POS. Rosemary is a trooper though. I'd be happy to duo with them on my Gold DPS role, but I don't think it'd be beneficial for their growth as a player.
This actually happened to me during my first month of getting back to ow, but I was against a stack of boosters, who dragged a single game to 10 rounds and then I left. I was silver too.
Yesterday, while playing competitive (I was queued as support) we come across this team that was all the same level, same photo, same everything. They did not push point at ALL and then when we attacked, they held us at spawn until overtime. We won but at what cost

I’m a low bronze, and you see a lot of the same people around. I’ve played a few games with the red team’s hog and he’s usually pretty toxic, so I’m not surprised he joined in on the spawn camping and Rosemary torture.
Even being in gold this is exactly what happens in games, I've been spawned camped even messaged via console to "get good". Smurfs suck the fun out of it so bad, and even with smurfs on my team they'll even throw half of the time.
As a mid-plat doomfist I would say this doom was gold at the most. So many weird entries and tons of missed abilities (and shots)
this has happened to me before. not the same situation with the spawn camping and targeting, but we were playing volskia and the other team very clearly was better than us, but they just let us cap both points every time. the game went on for literally hours and now every time i go to volskia i can't think of anything but that one match that went to round 30 and took 2 hours to finish. I don't even remember if we won...

I played against a Zarya that was nowhere near my level of skill, I was just playing a casual game with my friend. She was 4 stacked and they were all smurfs. Her aim was near perfect, and I checked the replay, she wasnt hacking. This person has gm aim, it was so fucking good that im almost positive they were on kb/m (im on console). Smurfs are 100% ruining the game. It got a little better when you had to connect your battlenet, since it created another barrier to make an account. I just dont understand what you get out of steamrolling people you know are worse than you, i know its just a game, but i get on after work with my friends to chill and relax. I already have to deal with toxic idiots, people throwing, and feeding teammates. And THEN throw smurfs tryharding on top of that. Its just too much man And a lot of people are pointing out bronze, but the middle area is affected too. When the occasional diamond/masters/gm smurf comes out, shit is so annoying. Or, even if the smurf isn’t that good, they usually bring in low elo probably into the match due to their low level. Making the game completely fucked, i’ve actually gotten brand new players a multitude of times (or people so elo they might as well be)
I see more diamond+, possibly kb/m smurfs in my games than actual new players. I use the find a group feature and the amount of smurfs that level accounts there. It gets so frustrating to play when i cant do anything against them.
@elixir I usually hate throwing around “Oh they’re on a kb/m” but this person’s movement was so insane that theres no way in hell you have that precision with a controller.
The most depressing part was how little rosemary's team seemed to notice or try to help. But Rose, honey....shoot back at them and keep your distance from doom, don't just try to run away. Especially as Moira, doom cant do much if you keep your max damage distance and use healing orbs. I'm sorry you were bullied. Maybe use comms and the look for group feature until you're out of bronze or silver. Smurfs are a problem in all of the lower elos.
I play primarily Arcade and QP and I know how annoying and frustrating it is when smurfs run through my games so I can only imagine how much it sucks to lose SR because of it.
Well qp matches you often with people at different skill base due to lack of players. It's not rly smurfing since rank isn't limiting them. It's normal in most of games.
@MyuNeptune No, in my qp matches (on my team or off) there are diamond+ smurfs leveling accounts in my ~gold or so mmr games. It IS smurfing and its not normal. This is probably what the original commentor meant.
@MyuNeptune Not true. QP favors quick matchmaking over skill placement due to the lack of players. And smurfs in QP tend to be lower levels, meaning the game hasn't even had time to place their MMR yet. I've been on a team with Bronzes and we ended up against a Masters team. I was the highest SR on the team at Plat. It was a steamroll.

Blizzard’s failure to stamp out smurfing a long time ago has enabled this kind of behaviour. They need to do better at ensuring that players aren’t manipulating the SR in OW and to take a hard line to those that do.
As a mercy main with the amount of times I’ve been sniped by smurfs and spawn camped by doomfists and genjis this legitimately makes me disgusted. Rosemary deserved better. Someone needs to teach her to utilize the power of Mercy’s glock.
The fact that they were tbagging her and literally only trying to kill her, makes me think this was targeted. These guys were probably in a match with her before this and she made them mad, so they decided to fuck with her the whole match out of petty revenge. Those accounts should get banned, honestly.
For a minute, I thought this was one of my Silver games from the other day. Had a couple of smurfs on the enemy team...that wound up throwing at the very end which gave my team the win. I wound up going torb to thwart his engages and after dying to a sleep/torb shotgun to the face, he just stayed in spawn until the match was over.
My friend had a game where the whole enemy team was 1 single smurf. HOWEVER, that smurf was controller the other 5 players as bots. It was insane to see her gameplay because they moved like they were AI. Or you know those custom games where where you can create "pets"? They mimic your movements and dont do their own things but only go by the inputs you put into your own game. I think it was an account to derank 6 accounts at the same time.
I just wish to be coached by Flats some day and get the hell out of bronze

These are the exact reasons why I stopped playing the game. Getting matched with people that I have no business being against again and again and again. I quit. I was done and am STILL done with OW. MMR is broken and has been for quite some time. It's worse now that the player base is SO much smaller.
as a support main, (zen) I feel so bad for rosemary. That wasn't just bad luck, that was straight bulling. I really hope that they are still playing overwatch and actually enjoying it instead of having to deal with stuff like this.
