Don't do the last one to ur wooden spoons plz! They will get moldy and split very easily because wood is very porous and retains a lot of that water

Trust me u don't wanna soak your wood utensils lol.. they will rot , my wood chopsticks that is soaking wet most of the time cuz I keep using it , ended up rotting , so I just throw it away and buy a steel one
Wood spoons are useful because you can really scrape the bottom of your pots and pans when cooking, but it won't get metal flakes into your food or damage your pan

Just sand the spoons and reseal them with flax seed oil, if they need it. I recommend every 3-6months or depending on wear. 3:
Wooden spoons contain oil so that they don’t splinter and rot, its not just grime.
You can just reapply a coating of oil on them

As a woodworker PLEASE NEVER soak or pour hot water on wood! It will absorb a lot and swell terribly, making it split and rot. Bacteria will fill the damp cracks. And the “filth” that floats on the top of the soaking water is probably the oil and wax that was used to finish and seal the wood from absorbing food and water. I use paste wax made from bees wax and coconut oil, with hot water some would float off and the rest wouldn’t be able to stop water from soaking in. There’s also discolouration that would happen. Long story short, just wipe off wooden utensils and quickly wash them in warm water. And if they ever look dry just soak them in vegetable oil (olive, avocado,coconut,etc. ), it’ll also stop then from absorbing food. Also, that typing hack was really useful. Why aren’t there more tutorials on how to really use a phone, rather than random hack videos😅.

Actually- dint do that to your wooden spoons. That’s all the protective oils in the wood- without it they’ll dry up quicker and have a shorter life-span.

dont soak wooden spoons. they are premade with that oily coating to prevent wood from siping water. If you soak them. oil will be pushed out and spoons can get rotten.
