It's even more messed up in the book. Kat gets a sprained ankle or something, nothing serious at all but he can't walk. Paul offers to carry Kat back to the lines. On the way they talk about stuff and are very relaxed, except for one time when a shell or bomb lands near them. They are well away from the blast radius and Paul is not hurt at all. So he keeps walking and talking to Kat. Few hours later when they finally get back and he puts down Kat, Paul finds out that Kat is dead. A tiny piece of shrapnel from the exploding shell had hit Kat in the back of his head, killing him instantly. Paul unknowingly had carried his dead friend on his back all along.
@skaidrius markauskas "All Quiet On The Western Front" is a German movie adapted from a novel of the same name. It won the Oscar for 'Best foreign movie' in the 94th Academy Awards ceremony.
All Quiet On The Western Front was such a good movie it honestly really showed viewers the true horrors of war Phenomenal movie, Amazing acting the scene where he stabs the soldier and then realized he had a family gave me chills
the fact that kat was just a person who repaired shoes for his family makes his death more tragic he had dreams he felt like a real person more than most movie characters and later in the movie after kat gets shot drunk celebrating german soldiers pass by them with cars and paul begged them to take them back but they just left paul and kat there just for fun causing the death of kat.
All quiet on the Western front is deserves an Oscar because it doesn’t just show the American, British, or French perspective, it shows the perspective of what those countries saw as the “enemy” and giving the viewers more of an understanding of what it was like from their perspective. Plus Kat didn’t deserve to die because chickens lay eggs like everyday and the chicken is probably gonna lay more overtime, so the farm didn’t really need to go to the extreme
Theft is theft and during war time the 3 most important things are food water and shelter, if someone stole your food for the day ill bet you would be pissed too.
As a german i can say, this really is one of the best if not the best german movie ever made. In the history of the Oscars, there never even was a german movie being nominated for more than best international movie before and this one won 4 of the f***ers, speaks volumes for what an amazing Picture this is.
The book and movie are masterpieces. No glory, no victory, just a fictional but true story of a man who slowly loses his friends and sanity, just to show that he is one among millions of soldiers experiencing the exact same thing.
A reason it recieved 4 oscars. Could still have been a bit better but one of the best german movies ive seen ever (one of the best war movies as well) and i usually dont really like Our movies.
Context: If you dont know why the kid shot him it’s because they were scavenging for food and came across one of the opposing sides farm/house. They have been using that area for a while I think and they just went to get some eggs since they were hungry. They almost got caught and that boy saw them. They started to go back but then he needed to use the bathroom so he went to the forest . Then they boy had shot him for taking the eggs. Just in case if anyone needs it Movie Name: All Quiet On The Western Front.
I think the change they made to the movie fits pretty well. There’s no way to get a viewer as used to shelling as soldiers were during the war so making Kat die being shot by a child is a good way to have him die to something trivial after living through so much.
@FordLover460they stole the eggs and the farmer said something on the lines of we are going to kill those German one day.sorry for bad English and maybe wrong quote it's been a long day and I watched the movie a while ago.
Kat did not deserve to die man he survived for so long much longer than them he gave them some advice on how to get themselves gets settled in technically there new home until the war was over he had a wife as well waiting for him him the war also almost over in an hour he probably would have survived even with the last battle he was a very tough cookie
All Quiet on the Western Front (2022), adapted from a great book written a century ago. Very dark but good insight into the human experience. Watch it in German with English subs. (Or just speak German lol)
Also very realistic, when i watch movie i often put my self in the character shoes, like "what would i do if were there" and when watching this movie i was like "not much different from them" even the guy who stab himself with fork, i was like "cant blame him"
@Jakub Grznár Movies will *NEVER* equate to a book. I don’t care what film it is. If you could just drop a title or the author for me? I would definitely appreciate you 💯❤️
Yeah it really unexpected that a kid would carry a rifle through the Wood without encountering Paul and somehow found Kat, i thought the kid would get revenge on the future after seeing him so angry, but no he just straight bring a rifle and catch up to Kat, fucking unbelieveable
this is why you just trust a soldier respect a soldier and alot more sometimes some soldiers die sometimes it revive there job is hard if you try it be careful
Movie: all quiet on the western front I really recommend this movie, it’s super sad but tells an amazing story and how crucial way really was like. The movie consists of 3 hours or less
I wanted those two to have a happy ending so bad. They’d been through so much and it looked like they were both gonna make it but… no happy endings in war.
All Quiet on the Western Front was such a damn well gripping and intense movie. Every second of it was outstanding and the raw and often raging emotions it made you feel (especially during the Saint-Chamond tanks scene) was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Not ashamed to say I cried at a lot of parts, feeling sorrow for these young men having to die for the glory of the old. Only complaint is that I wish the end of the movie followed the book more closely but apart from that it was done well. A definite watch and the book is a must read. Both I feel can be freely called masterpieces.
My teacher had us read All Quiet on the Western Front when I was in history back in high school. It was for my honors US History class, and we had to keep extensive notes on it. We took notes on the emotions of the characters and who they were and where they were, and so on. It was a very impactful book to me as a teen, and I think I should re-read it again as an adult.
book is masterpiece, read it in ninth class of middle school and i really got attached to Kat and him dying just so sudden was extremly shocking for me since it was so relaxed it looked like he had just minor injury and then after shelling we realize he got killed by shrapnel and Paul has carried his dead friend
If you like this movie watch Stalingrad 1993 it on youtube for free and it’s also from the germany perspective like this movie. The movie takes place in world war 2 and is about the germans in Stalingrad. Such a heartbreaking movie
This movie is just sad really. Especially in the last attack they tried to do, you really thought Paul might make it but he died in the end, and a soldier he helped in the middle of the movie saw him dead and collected his dog tag.
The saddest moment in the movie. Two friends left. One dies. And Paul is left alone. I cried so much during this movie. Especially at the part where Paul stabs the Frenchman and discovers he has a family and tries to help him. He couldn't, as it was too late.
This movie came out right after I got Battlefield 1 and was absolutely brutal. There’s not enough movies about WWI, even if it was more “boring” compared to WWII.
Und das Traurigste war noch, dass der Krieg schon zu Ende war und sie in ein paar Tagen wieder nach Hause gegangen wären. Er hat seinem Sohn versprochen wieder zu kommen.😭
It's still affecting us. My great grandfather was a disturbed man from the time he spent in your country. My family had wealth. Substance abuse, poor discipline, and bad decisions destroyed everything. We now realize it was PDSD. Now his decedent's live in squalor and every single male that is his heir is an addict or an alcoholic save for one, including my good self. Trauma is generational and epigenetic.
@FlipWhale No, not really, to both questions. I just know he fought Nazis in Germany but I never talked to him about it and he came back a different person and basically destroyed is entire life and fortune. Left his children nothing when previously it was assumed they'd inheret a good deal of land. He also killed a man after he returned in a bar fight. I learned of all of this after his death and the the fact my family was rich just a week ago I'm almost 40. It still blows my mind and I didn't believe it. I did some research because I called cap. It's all true. I'm sitting here baffled. Everything could be different if one angry Austrian went to Art school... so weird.
For those who do t know the movie is called All quiet on the western front It's about 4 friend who join the military at the age of 18 and fight in WW2. The main character (Paul) lost his friends to the bombing and was so sad so he foun a new friend named Kat. Kat and Paul were stealin eggs and chicken from the farm so they could survive, they did it a couple of times. The tactic was that Paul was standing outside while Kat was stealing, but one time they switched places and the kid of the farmer saw Paul. He followed them in to the forest and shot Kat in the liver. Paul took him to the medic but the bullet poisoned him and he sadly passed away.
The thing that really sucks, the war was basically already over at this point, the peace treaty was signed and the war would officially be over in a number of hours, they were basically on their way home when they decided to come back to that farm to steal more livestock. But the worst part of all? The general overseeing the troops decided not to let the war end peacefully and sent the troops at gunpoint to trudge through no man’s land to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. There were mass casualties on both sides.
@Vsm426 Potato, tomato. One side just couldn’t accept a peaceful conclusion out of injury of pride, and led to even more deaths that were somehow even MORE pointless than those that occurred during the war. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Red𖤍Edits it wasn't entirely pointless on the upside technology went up in what it would take decades to developed though the cost of lives is not something I agree for it in exchange
kat was my favorite character reading the book, when he died i could just feel the emptiness that insued. Anyone who watched the movie i recommend reading the original book as it is far more impactful and meaningful.
If you saw the movie you’d know how messed up it is. As you know he gets shot and injured the dude who gets shot didn’t want to get carried so they just kept on walking, after a while they saw a group of partying Germans on a bus. He begged to get on but they just laughed and made him walk, has they let him on kat’s story may have been different.
It doesn't matter what war you fight in. If you are actually going on missions and in direct combat, it changes you forever. Being at war is the exact opposite of civilized life in every aspect. You can't successfully adjust to a war zone without re-wiring how your brains works. It's the same as lighting a match. It can never go back to what it was.
All Quiet On The Western Front really made me realise how deadly war is, a masterpiece of a movie. I also like that at the end despite getting bayonet stabbed and could have survived, he just sits looking like he is finally at piece that the war ended
@Jack Cutter The movie is made to be deep to everyone who sees it, you must be like 15 and be like "14 years old are such babies" and yes, if he had not been stabbed in the heart by a bayonet, he would have survived has there was a cease fire a few seconds after he had been stabbed, but who knows if the 2 french soldiers wouldnt have killed him despite the end of the war
I starved for months when I was 12 I weighed about less than 90 pounds when I was rescued and even I would never take a mans life like that just for food he likely would have shared.
This movie was beautiful... Really makes you think about the soldiers on the german side too, even if they were considered the "bad guys" they still experienced enough trauma and should be respected.
Most of the grunts didnt know what they were fighting for. They knew that they were in/near a depression and their current leader told them that he knew the way out.
As a German I believe that movie is one of the best I’ve seen in my life and I historically completely accurate. It’s unbelievable what powers moving pictures have

But he was talkin?..
Oof. In saying that, had Paul not carried Kat, he would’ve got hit with the shrapnel.
I remember this scene in the real old movie, I was a bit confused, thank you for giving me additional details
Its horrifying how the medic has seen so much death that he doesn't have any hold back on saying hes dead.
so he kills that boy? And that boys bullet kills him?
@Johnny SinsIt doesn’t show the boy
@Johnny SinsWho knows
@MECHA COMICS TV you said "who knows" but the title 'killed for food'
@Johnny SinsHe aint the one who made the title.
The kid is the real antagonist
The kid defends his home, would you let an intruder to go away with your all efforts? He wanted to make his father proud, anyways.
@zastanawiacz”dad I just shot a soldier who was fighting for his life!” real
@ChevyBoi82he did sure he didn’t came back and steal the food
@zastanawiacz the gaslighting is real on this one, you clearly didn't read nor watched it.
@Ranger No, instead. "Dad, I've gaved him a lesson, so he probably eon't come back to steal rest of our food."
Kat didn't deserve to die. He was the best character. Always looking out for his comrades
Yup 👍
Tis is war. That is the premise of the movie :(
In fact, the idea that the film tries to convey is that there are no victors in war, so even the protagonist dies.
@matador exactly :(
He stole from a farmer twice
This movie was incredible. I’ll NEVER forget the tank scene.
The fork scene still gives me chills just thinking about
Whats the name?
@TabbyEggAll quiet on the western front , it’s on Netflix
@All seeing Otto tysm
@Morthijmy nephew watched it with me,he’s the one who picked it out so from now on i’m checking 😂
He was the closest they had to a father figure in the battle.
What's the movies name please?
@Requim Dream All Quiet On The Western Front
@GoobusRoobus Thank you ☺️
This movie deserves the Oscar it won. Really gripping.
NAME MOVIE
I agree and I'm starting to get really tired of all the purists getting upset saying its bad because it ain't accurate to a overrated novel
@skaidrius markauskas "All Quiet On The Western Front" is a German movie adapted from a novel of the same name. It won the Oscar for 'Best foreign movie' in the 94th Academy Awards ceremony.
@skaidrius markauskasRead the comments it's not hard to figure out. Over half of the comments say the name of the movie, don't be dumb.
All Quiet On The Western Front was such a good movie it honestly really showed viewers the true horrors of war Phenomenal movie, Amazing acting the scene where he stabs the soldier and then realized he had a family gave me chills
At least got Oscar
How is it underrated? Everyone and their mother watched it and talked about it.
@Nico it’s an underrated movie because it shows people who didn’t know anything about war the true horrors of it, Am I supposed to not say that?
@GoobusRoobus "Underated" implies that its positive features are not recognised. They are. It is just a good movie
@Nico Alright.
the fact that kat was just a person who repaired shoes for his family makes his death more tragic he had dreams he felt like a real person more than most movie characters and later in the movie after kat gets shot drunk celebrating german soldiers pass by them with cars and paul begged them to take them back but they just left paul and kat there just for fun causing the death of kat.
tht part where the other germans passed pissed me off so much
Kat really was the last thing that kept paul going
What's the movie name
@samshi vp Im Westen nicht neues (All quiet on the western front)
My interpretation of the movie (not the book) is differing, Paul tried to protect a young man which he saw himself in in the last moments.
@Wilhelm Von Preußen good point. It's tragic that he got stabbed right before that unnecessary battle ended
Fr but it was low-key hilarious
All quiet on the Western front is deserves an Oscar because it doesn’t just show the American, British, or French perspective, it shows the perspective of what those countries saw as the “enemy” and giving the viewers more of an understanding of what it was like from their perspective. Theft is theft and during war time the 3 most important things are food water and shelter, if someone stole your food for the day ill bet you would be pissed too.
@sam olofssonits a farm, theres several chickens and they stole 1 egg for 2 people??
@MayRoxI'm pretty sure that if some hobo came in your house nd stole something you would do the same even though you have more of whatever it was
They stole a goose earlier which is why the farmer and his family were tired of it
All quiet on the western front is the saddest film i have ever seen but its so good i recommend everyone watching it
The book is even more intense and it shows how the German soldiers were just as human as the allies were.
Can i know the name of the book?
You needed a book to make you realize that?
@Cirumost people don’t until they reach the battle field and realize they’re fighting people who don’t want to be there either
@Ciru A lot of people view Nazis as all the same, evil... you didn't realize that?
Umm yes everyone knows there is humans fighting wars. Unless you know something most of us don’t 😅
Kat smiles when he gave the omelette to paul just made me cry..
The movie is called “all quiet on the western front” its really good
Kat is basically the 2nd company's father. He took good care of them.
I was gonna like Ur comment but it's on 666 likes so I'm not gonna
Movie name please
@prasen khare all quiet on the western front
@Kyber is it the name of the book too ??
@Lateef Essa yes but I recommend watching the older versions of the event. It's much more accurate from what I've heard
This movie left me speechless
Fr
Im still traumatised
Eu chorei, chorei muito, por dentro, pós n sou capaz de remover água preciosa em meus olhos
Talk about an anti war film that hit to the bone. Beautifully horrific
The movie and book specifically say it’s a not an anti war movie.
More like a justification for Geneva Suggestions.
Lol this movie sucks
It’s a book
I dont think its anti war I just think it trys to capture the craziness and horror that this ww1 probably like.
The soundtrack of this film give me chills.. soo good!!
As a german i can say, this really is one of the best if not the best german movie ever made. Bruh speaking better English than people from Surrey
Check out "Stalingrad" and "das Boot" both are german movies and they are awesome
The book and movie are masterpieces. No glory, no victory, just a fictional but true story of a man who slowly loses his friends and sanity, just to show that he is one among millions of soldiers experiencing the exact same thing.
Whats the name of the book?
@Michele Galli All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque
Wish the movie would’ve followed the end of the book a bit closer but apart from that it was amazing
But I don't like the end of the movie tbh it's just too stereotypical idk
Its fictional but true?
I remember watching this part and I was crying cuz Kat helped Paul a lot through his life.
“War is when the young and stupid are tricked by the old and bitter into killing each other” - Niko Bellic
He was one of my favorites in that movie
movie?
@kathir eeswarall quiet on western front
❤
Yeah its a shame how he died
Man i was going to watch this movie and this post spoiled it for me
All quiet on the western front is one of the best movie I have ever watch
he tried to tough it up, like a REAL SOILDER😤
movies like this need to be made. we need constant reminders that war is a terrible option.
agreed, especiallyin this wicked time
If everyone believed in Jesus then everything would be fine.
@Sparky lol
Movie name
Ripeace my German and French brethren. May we stand as Allie’s moving forward
One of the most depressing movies I’ve ever watched. Cinematic masterpiece that effs with your head big time
Movies called all quiet on the western front, theres a reason it recieved an Oscar. Beautiful cinematography bro
Thanks for telling me it looks really good
A reason it recieved 4 oscars. Could still have been a bit better but one of the best german movies ive seen ever (one of the best war movies as well) and i usually dont really like Our movies.
I’d love to see the original version
@L_S if u like war movies I am sure sisu would be a good pick, it's about a guy fighting n@z!s
The og version is really good

Kat was genually such a nice person in the movie and really heroic, this scene hit different man
I don't understand why Eleven killed him
@FordLover460 food
@FordLover460they stole the eggs and the farmer said something on the lines of we are going to kill those German one day.sorry for bad English and maybe wrong quote it's been a long day and I watched the movie a while ago.
@Cesar Thank you Eddie munson

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022), adapted from a great book written a century ago. Very dark but good insight into the human experience. Watch it in German with English subs. (Or just speak German lol)
Saw the beauty of the movie coldness of movie seems touched
the design is very human
The movie didn't do any justice to the book tho. It's completely different. The only thing they kept are the names of the characters
Also very realistic, when i watch movie i often put my self in the character shoes, like "what would i do if were there" and when watching this movie i was like "not much different from them" even the guy who stab himself with fork, i was like "cant blame him"
Very dark but very human
This movie is so good watched this with my homie we were both speechless 10/10 fr.
No stop bcs every time this scene happens I sob violently 😭😭😭 This remake made his death so much more traumatizing for me than the original
This movie.. never stopped with the horror. 10/10 film.
Pls read the book. Movie looked amazing but did not really catch the point of the book.
@Jakub Grznár Movies will *NEVER* equate to a book. I don’t care what film it is. If you could just drop a title or the author for me? I would definitely appreciate you 💯❤️
There are some stupid things in the movie. Its okayish
Name?
@Transgender-Prophet Mohammed Depends on opinion
I was so upset when he died, he was my favorite character in this Movie.
His death was so unexpected, one of the best written characters in this movie
Book
it was really forced and out of place - I giggled when it happened. Half the deaths in this movie can't be taken seriously.
@Mikifinally someone who really sees that the deaths in the movie, speacially Kat's death, is pretty out of place and non sense
Yeah it really unexpected that a kid would carry a rifle through the Wood without encountering Paul and somehow found Kat, i thought the kid would get revenge on the future after seeing him so angry, but no he just straight bring a rifle and catch up to Kat, fucking unbelieveable
@ink just inkYou underestimate a kid's willpower when he puts his mind to something, especially in such a extreme circumstance.
this is why you just trust a soldier respect a soldier and alot more sometimes some soldiers die sometimes it revive there job is hard if you try it be careful
All Quiet on the Western Front, amazing movie. Book is an even better experience.
Movie: all quiet on the western front I really recommend this movie, it’s super sad but tells an amazing story and how crucial way really was like. The movie consists of 3 hours or less
"Went back and burned the farm to the ground I used it to make a real omelette" Good Ending
I wanted those two to have a happy ending so bad. They’d been through so much and it looked like they were both gonna make it but… no happy endings in war.
there are some happy endings in war
L kid in movie
No happy endings for anyone
@# PackWatchstfu
@LA MEME MASTER i meant the kid in movie
The sad part is that everyone main character dies.
This movie is so amazing because it reminds us that while there were two sides to this War There was only one Human race fighting it
All Quiet on the Western Front was such a damn well gripping and intense movie. This modern movie is garbage. It's only good that comes from the visuals. The older movies were stunning.
@The Forcedude you gotta be kidding, the new movie felt so much better, especially having native German speakers
@oochiwaa2226 have you seen the one prior to this one?
@The Force yup I watched all versions, it always weirded me out to have Americans playing Germans, little bit picky I know
@oochiwaa2226 I guess it has to do with the popularity of the actor so that the movie can sell. It seems like everything's about money.
Thought Ernest Borgnine played the role of Kat very well in the TV movie version.
As a German it's heartbreaking 😢
My teacher had us read All Quiet on the Western Front when I was in history back in high school. It was for my honors US History class, and we had to keep extensive notes on it. We took notes on the emotions of the characters and who they were and where they were, and so on. It was a very impactful book to me as a teen, and I think I should re-read it again as an adult.
I read it in high-school too. I also had the book but that's been long gone. If I wasn't reading tons of books, I'd read this again.
Same here read it in my grade 10 English class
American school is weird.
What’s the name of the book??
He called for a medic. He didn’t say that this man needed help
Kat's face when sharing food with her friends suddenly turns off for some reason it makes me sad😢
book is masterpiece, read it in ninth class of middle school and i really got attached to Kat and him dying just so sudden was extremly shocking for me since it was so relaxed it looked like he had just minor injury and then after shelling we realize he got killed by shrapnel and Paul has carried his dead friend
What is the books name
👂🏻
Damn that sucks 9 classes in middle school 😭 we had 6 back when I was in middle school😢
@Plevne Gazisi Osman Paşa all quiet on the western front
@Steve is this the new movie? I’ve seen the 70’s one and read part of the book and I don’t remember a scene like this
This movie made me honestly cry
Prolly one of the best war movies I've seen on netflix
bro what other war movie on netflix is better?
This is seriously the best movie I've ever watched. Truly shows the horrors that war brings. Amazingly written, shot, and acted.
Name of the movie?
мне тоже пожалуйста название
All quiet on the Western front
If you like this movie watch Stalingrad 1993 it on youtube for free and it’s also from the germany perspective like this movie. The movie takes place in world war 2 and is about the germans in Stalingrad. Such a heartbreaking movie
"Come and see" is much better if you want an anti war film
This movie is just sad really. Especially in the last attack they tried to do, you really thought Paul might make it but he died in the end, and a soldier he helped in the middle of the movie saw him dead and collected his dog tag.
Thats so sad, Losing your friend who ate with you, talked to you and more who is now dead. RIP.
When i saw kat died,it broked me down into tears,he was one of my favorites characters😔
They didn’t know what they’re doing but the kid knew exactly what he is, he is the real villain
They were stealing from his family bruh
bro had all the time to dodge or roll 💀
you need to touch grass bro
I'm not gonna lie here. I actually cried when Kat died. He's such a good person man. The same goes for these young lads.
i know and he doesn’t die this way in the other movies so i did not expect this at all in this scene originally
I didn't cry, my tear already dried since middle of movie
One of the only war movies i couldn't finish in a good way
Friendship never lasts forever but love dose in our hearts…
The saddest moment in the movie. Two friends left. One dies. And Paul is left alone. I cried so much during this movie. Especially at the part where Paul stabs the Frenchman and discovers he has a family and tries to help him. He couldn't, as it was too late.
Read the book, that movie version was trash
@Ha Raffael in my opinion, the movie was good. 👍
@★𝙰 𝚁𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚘𝚖 𝚂𝙿 𝙶𝚞𝚢★yeah elitist people who always think the book was better 😂 The movies is nice ❤
@Ocel true
@Ocelthe book is better, but the movie is still frickin incredible

"All Quiet on The Western Front" is the movie. I don't say this lightly, but it is a masterpiece!

Everything could be different if one angry Austrian went to Art school... so weird.
The movie really showed how traumatized the soldiers looked after experiencing war itself
The movie is All quiet on the western front Its on netflix Its told from a germans perspective
Er war Schuster, Soldat, Freund, Ehemann und Vater.
Wirklich
Film Name?
@Blackofficial19 "Im Westen nichts Neues"
@TobiLetsPlay ja er war. Super film.
Movies about war hits different Expecially knowing since you didnt live It you dont know if a situation like that could actually happen
I cried so much in this movie it proves how fucked up war is and we should stop having wars with each other
For those who do t know the movie is called All quiet on the western front It's about 4 friend who join the military at the age of 18 and fight in WW2.
World War 1* 😊
WW1
Did they slaughter that little kid in the end because I hope they did
@GLT but the kid own the farm and the soldier are the one stealing from his farm.
@GLT they may have been doing it for survival but the kid was protecting his property
This scene fucked up my feelings from the entire movie. What an injustice. 😢
For anyone wondering this movies is called “all quite on the western front”
The thing that really sucks, the war was basically already over at this point, the peace treaty was signed and the war would officially be over in a number of hours, they were basically on their way home when they decided to come back to that farm to steal more livestock. But the worst part of all? The general overseeing the troops decided not to let the war end peacefully and sent the troops at gunpoint to trudge through no man’s land to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. There were mass casualties on both sides.
In truth though it was the french who made that last attack but with artillery
@Vsm426 Potato, tomato. One side just couldn’t accept a peaceful conclusion out of injury of pride, and led to even more deaths that were somehow even MORE pointless than those that occurred during the war. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Red𖤍Edits it wasn't entirely pointless on the upside technology went up in what it would take decades to developed though the cost of lives is not something I agree for it in exchange
@Vsm426 “Yeah, I finally achieved all my career goals… I just hope selling my soul to Satan isn’t going to affect me in the long run” vibes.🤭😂
@Red𖤍Edits War is literally one of the greatest drivers of technology. Even the space race was caused by the cold war.
kat was my favorite character reading the book, when he died i could just feel the emptiness that insued.
Silent on the western front is an amazing film
This was one of the most messed up wars in history. Even if you survived you had to deal with bad ptsd
That is all wars. No one ever actually “survives“
War is war.
"bad ptsd": The term PTSD hadn't even been invented yet; at the time, they called it "Shell Shock" and regarded anyone with it mildly insane.
That's what I meant pretty much
This movie has the saddest ending. Really messed me up tbh
Хороший конец
Fantastic film! A must watch for all action military or war film fans.
This movie teaches people not to glorify war and I fucking loved all of it.
What's the movie called
@Aiden "All quiet on the western Front" or in German: "Im Westen nichts Neues"
that movie was depressed af
This movie hits hard
All Quiet On The Western Front really made me realise how deadly war is, a masterpiece of a movie. I also like that at the end despite getting bayonet stabbed and could have survived, he just sits looking like he is finally at piece that the war ended
He definitely couldn't have survived but okay "I'm 14 and this is deep"
@Jack Cutterit’s possible and it was an emotional movie
@Jack Cutter The movie is made to be deep to everyone who sees it, you must be like 15 and be like "14 years old are such babies" and yes, if he had not been stabbed in the heart by a bayonet, he would have survived has there was a cease fire a few seconds after he had been stabbed, but who knows if the 2 french soldiers wouldnt have killed him despite the end of the war
The way he dies in the original film is actually a lot better.
Must watch. “All quiet on the western front”
This is ww1 and i see no one is bad guy here, german just lost
@Bảo Nguyễn hữu Yeah, but people consider them as the bad guys.
@whizzverb i still got no clue why
@Bảo Nguyễn hữu Neither do I.
I was so furious when saw that scene, Kat died for literally nothing
As a German I believe that movie is one of the best I’ve seen in my life and I historically completely accurate. It’s unbelievable what powers moving pictures have
Movie?
