Actually, in the Godzilla vs Power Rangers comic, both Godzilla and Ghidorah resist Rita's magic when she attempts to control them, so I do actually think he could withstand any mind control spells
Granted, we can't exactly say that Rita's Magic can be compared to Void Magic given that it can literally corrupt and control everything.
@JC Mahrt Yeah it isn't 100% comparable but it's just Ghidorah and the other Godzilla monsters have a history of resisting control
@Lucas Diano Yes, but in most cases it is through technology which isn't always reliable if you don't know what you are doing, and in the case of Void magic it is more so based on willpower and the understanding to work with it and not fully against it, but even so you must always make sure to keep your guard up. Not to mention that when it comes to void corruption, it pretty much affects everything, which includes the environment, plants, and animals. So, in this case, I don't think that they would be able to completely resist it, but that doesn't mean that they would go through total control of themselves either. But if it were one of the Old gods than no questions asked, they would be completely under the control of the Old gods for it is less on the way of being a mindless puppet and more so sharing the same viewpoint as them in that case and seeing the Old gods as your superiors which is why even though Deathwing can destroy the planet, he is still under their authority.
That's just noncanon garbage though so it doesn't matter.

Considering that literally everyone in the chat seemed to only know about Ghidorahs abilities and not Deathwing, it goes to show that they will stick to what they know and just assume that Deathwing is the weaker of the two, when the truth is that it is not that simple, and the likely hood that Ghidorah would actually kill Deathwing is very low given that he is being granted a lot of power from the Old gods, who would easily be able to take control of Ghidorah because of the fact that you would need to be something equivalent of a Titan to actually be able to resist the Whispers of the Old gods.

In King of the Monsters the Orca is used to pacify the monsters from destroying the world, but Ghidorah wasn’t effected and went to destroy the Orca.
He very much took it as a challenge/insult.
TO BE FAIR The Orca was designed for earthly creatures. Even if it did work from the word go, it would not have had the desired effect on Ghidorah since he’s an alien life form from a completely different ecosystem.
Ghidorah vs Deathwing is very interesting actually. The thing with Deathwing is that I don't think he actually died at the end of Cataclysm more like he was sealed back to where he rised up from. Deathwing is really a force of nature he make everything shake causing massive earthquakes and tidal waves / tsunami and flying in causing every landscape to get set on fire, which he really did do that in the game when Cataclysm was around. I think if this was Sargres (another Warcraft character) then no in chance that King Ghidorah would win. Sargres is almost planetary where at the end of legion expansion he literally pirecd the earth (Azaroth) with a gigantic sword.
Sargeras is a casual planet buster, even possibly solar system level, he beat all of the other titans, who ordered the warcraft universe. Deathwing does not scale to Sargeras because he is one of the most powerful beings in the verse. '

Really hope this match becomes a reality someday. It's been a hot minute since we've had a proper kaiju fight on the show, and both the Godzilla and Warcraft series definitely need more representation.

I would pay good money to see this. Here’s an idea: commission Slick to animate this. He’s probably one of if not the best sticknodes animators out there. He does a ton of Godzilla related stuff so I think he’d be down. As for the winner, Ghidora 100%

I could see them still doing this fight in season 10. They said the votes were very close in terms of choosing a matchup, so my guess is that they’re gonna pick this matchup as a surprise wildcard episode. On top of that, we’ve only had 2 Godzilla monsters in death battle (Godzilla himself against Gamera and Mechagodzilla against the Dragonzord) both of which were 4 seasons apart from each other with one one season 2 and the other in season 6. If death battle keeps that pattern going, then we should have another Godzilla monster in season 10, and what better monster to pick than King Ghidorah?

True. Though I personally think that King Kong should be the one to get a matchup this season since this year is the big guy's 90th anniversary and next year Godzilla vs Kong 2 drops, as well as him getting a Disney + TV Show IIRC. Plus, there are two of his matchups that are in relevancy. King Kong vs Donkey Kong due to the Mario movie and King Kong vs Zeke Yaeger due to Attack On Titan's anime coming to an end.

There needs to be more Kaiju death battles in general! Although I think it would be cool to see King Ghidorah go up against a flock of Gyaos, or maybe SpaceGodzilla versus Iris
I rarely take such polls in consideration because I feel a non-insignificant part of the votes are not out of knowing/guessing which one's stronger, but out of desire that their favorite wins. In other words, regardless of power levels, the more popular character usually wins such pools.
Speaking of dragons, I would love to see Nicol Bolas at some point in the future. Don't know who though (maybe Bahamut from FF)?

Agree with the results but I think the movement speed and combat speed of Ghidoraha are not the same. In a past death battle with godzilla, its mentioned that he is not fast..at all! So if godzilla can trade blows with Ghidoraha then it's hard to belive they fight at lightspeeds.

Dude, if it’s Void Ghidorah, Deathwing is so screwed
Oh, it's not even a competition. Void is easily Ghidorah's most powerful incarnation to date, and since fighters are never given info about their opponents in Death Battle, there is no way Deathwing would know that killing an Exif priest would make Void Ghidorah vulnerable. And even if we took out the priest and had Void Ghidorah fight in his complete form, his size dwarfs Deathwing's by such a significant amount that I doubt the WOW dragon would be able to deal any real damage.

It also wouldn't make sense that it requires one, void ghidorah is stated to destroy planets in his true form just by being near them, so theres no way the priest would survive being anywhere within the range of a planet of his true form.
Whilst this would be cool, I'm hoping for King Kong. Please get the big guy on. You've had Godzilla and Gamera as early as Season 2, but you haven't had King Kong on. And this year is his 90th anniversary

@Fill It I don't know what you mean by "Outer," but judging from the Cataclysm trailer, Deathwing looks big enough to swallow Alduin whole. Also, despite supposedly being the one who will destroy the world, Alduin's abilities aren't much better than your average dragon's, so I don't he'd be able to do any significant damage. All he really has going for him is his pseudo-immortality via the Dragonborn Prophecy, but I don't think that's going to help him achieve victory.

@Fill It Had to look up what the heck Outerversal meant, and judging from the description I got, it doesn't really sound like it applies to Alduin, at least going off what I know about him in-game. I'm sure there's lore that goes into more detail about his past and powers, in some book or another, but from I've experienced in Skyrim (and seen from the Cataclysm trailer, having never played a single second of WOW), I do still think that Deathwing would be the winner of this fight. Of the two, which one do you think would win?

Well, it sounds like a Kevin victory. Will say that when I heard Deathwing can manipulate the planet like a god and IS TWICE KING GHIDORAH'S SIZE, my vote swapped to Deathwing! I picture that Ghidorah has never faced a planet quite like Azeroth as both the planet and the fight would play out like this. "1. Ghidorah would meteor at Azeroth. 2. the planet would counter so by the time Ghidorah lands, it is fairly damaged. and 3. Deathwing picks up Ghidorah and like a chicken, just rips the heads off!" Unless this fight is the anime Lovecraft version of Ghidorah, I now don't think even Kevins memes can save this former planet buster!

In 'vs. Megaguirus', Godzilla dodged the first hit from the Dimension Tide by taking cover underground. the second time at the end of the movie, he does take the hit. King Ghidorah's asteroid form seems to be a type of transformation, since he doesn't actually need it to traverse the vaccume of space. In his debut movie, he lands as an asteroid, then bursts from it as a ball of fire, which then coalesces into his dragon form. This would seem to suggest that he is a type of 'energy being' who can assume different forms.
No, that's not what happened at all. It was confirmed that Godzilla was hit with it, it didn't destroy the planet because he destroyed the black hole with is atomic breath, but it still hit him. The force pushed him underground, it was confirmed.

How high does deathwing scale? Haven't sat through the full video quite yet, but this is a match for ghidorah that HEAVILY depends on which ghidorah is used. Ghidorah from the Showa era scales up to high star level due to feats with the Canon show Zone Fighter. Heisei ghidorah on the other hand, with combined scaling from godzilla and spacegodzilla, can hit solar system to even universal (universal is a scarily consistent high ball). GMK ghidorah is a pushover compared to the previous 2 only reaching around city/country level. Keizer Ghidorah from Godzilla: Final Wars hits multi-continental. The heisei ghidorahs desghidorah, cretaceous ghidorah, and grand king ghidorah also hit solar system-universal with the same scaling from godzilla/spaceG. Ghidorah from the anime movie trilogy can get multi-dimensional, and the king ghidorah from Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits moon level. "Ghidorah is THE most powerful monster in the verse" false for most incarnations. In showa and the anime movies sure, but most of the time the strongest is Godzilla
They are probably doing the same flawed logic of taken parts of other versions of Ghidorah and mixing them as one like they did with Green Lantern, which in my opinion is completely unfair

@Michael Raymon111 Yes they did because there are two variations of Hal Jordan Green lantern with varying abilities and weaknesses for both versions and took bits and pieces of each one and combined them as one concept and took feats from other Green Lanterns that aren't Hal Jordan and made a theoretical that Hal Jorden could do the same but never proven.

If they combine all of Ghidorah’s incarnations (except the anime one cause that’s just unfair), then I’d say Ghidorah has a pretty high chance of winning. I will be honest, I know nothing about WoW, so I am a bit biased.
Deathwing was named Neltharion, is an Aspect, a guardian of Azeroth (homeworld where most of the stories take place) he became embued with powers by essentially the creators of all life in the galaxy (The Pantheon) he was empowered with the power of Azeroth and could feel everything, but because he could feel everything he became effected by the influence of the Old Gods the guy caused genocide that caused another dragonflight the blue ones to go nearly extinct, His power is so great that he could influence the planet itself.if you look at the openong cinematic for Cata, he was so overflowing with power that it was seeping out of him causing him physical pain but his pain caused tremors and earthquakes and his wings were powerful enough to make the ones Rodan made look like a gust, Deathwing would be the same thing as a God

Showa MechaGodzilla has Mechani Kong (King Kong) and Trypticon has MechaGodzilla City (The Anime Trilogy) Rodan has Birdon (Ultraman) or Raptaros (War Of The Monsters) and Gyaos has the Skullcrawler (Monsterverse) or Dagahra (Mothra) (Seriously, Rodan vs Gyaos is literally just "They Look Similar") Anguirus vs Baragon is a same series matchup as Baragon appeared in Destroy All Monsters and GMK, and Anguiris has Scrion (The Nemesis Saga) and Baragon has Barugon (Gamera)

@Joel Acosta It still just boils down to “They look similar” and barely features anything for either combatant. Gyaos vs Skullcrawler allows for a lot more of a vicious fight that leans into the horror nature of both monsters.

to be fair, deathwing does have access to powers that corrupt beings like Sargeas, a being that has done the same thing as Ghidorah, countless times. Though, it could take time for it to proc so there is that.

Deathwing can screw with time, wipe out entire realms, etc. I feel like this poll only took the video game raid boss Deathwing into account and not lore Deathwing. Game DW vs King Ghidora wouldn't even be a contest, lol. Lore DW wouldn't be nearly so clear cut.
If Ghidorah is to modern for Deathwing, i suggest 2 better opponents, Xenologia (fairy tail) or Medeus (Fire Emblem)

Ah, yes, let us forget that Deathwing was originally blessed by the Titan Khaz'goroth the Forger of Worlds, who along with every other member of the Titan Pantheon can one shot Ghidorah no questions asked. Not to mention that Deathwing can use Elemental, Order, and Void Magic. The latter of the two being the equivalent of what being able to corrupt anything, whether it be gods, dragons, Elemental Lords, Demons, and even slumbering Titans. Deathwing literally used Void Magic to one shot one of the Primal Incarnates, who are equivalent in power to the Dragon Aspects. There were a lot of facts that were not being stated and literally everyone in the chat kept spouting out Ghidorah facts and not once nor twice did I see any mention of what Deathwing has been capable of doing nor what he has done.

Not to complicate the unimportant Shady Rays ad, but if they provide ten meals with every order, and they’ve provided 20 meals to date, wouldn’t that just mean they’ve have only about 2 orders total? There needs to be some clarification here, because that doesn’t seem right
