Kristen Bell Explains Medical Condition and Pool Gloves

  • All Sensory

  • Its called sensory processing disorder !

  • I suffer from the condition as well to. Its your mind playing games with you

  • Loony

  • It is discovered already. It's called sensory processing disorder or spd...

    • Oh and millions of people has the issue it's just not the same for everyone in every way and intensity

  • I was thinking along the lines of sensory processing differences.

  • I’m one of the 10

  • If my hands are wet, I can't touch towels, cardboard, almost like anything or I cringe so hard, I literally cannot.

  • but what if a sloth was in the pool for hours and had pruney pads?

  • Kristien Bell, you’re a great actress, and I love “the good place”. But I need to correct you on this. Our fingers do that to have a better grip in the wet.

  • It’s not a medical condition because all the things she describes matches as a phobia

  • Having aversions to certain textures is a common thing. I gag if I touch cotton balls or if I have anything cloth in my mouth.

  • I suffer from this! 😭😭

  • Kristen has a repressed memory of a traumatic event with water or a pool, that is "hiding" behind this weird phobia. You can hear her get emotional when she starts talking about it.

  • I mean, I freak out if my face gets wet while showering. I hear autism could cause this moisture trigger since it’s a common trigger, but it could also be attributed to anxiety or OCD. It’s worth looking into. Prunyness never bothered me, personally, but I grew up taking 8 hour baths, reading, so I guess maybe I’m just really used to it.

  • I hate pruny skin

  • Fingers pruning is a adaptation so our species can more easily grip things that a submerged in the water, she's ridiculous.

  • Dude is such a sexist! Disgusting

  • What about if ur showering Kristin?

  • Fingertip ridges don't bug me, but I do have sensory sensitivities that other people think are stupid, so I feel her pain. LOL.

  • I feel for her. :) While I don't have that specific...condition(?)...I can confirm that there are parts of my body where if someone were to tap me, I feel it like a soft bass drum in my ears. Everyone I've told about it thinks it's weird. It's kinda nice to hear her talk about it...There are dozens of us!

  • I AM NOT ALONEEEEE 🙌🙌🙌🙌 < note praisey hands respectfully not touching each other. I can’t believe how validating this is!

  • I totally understand I hate how that feels!

  • I don't like dry stuff on my hands. Makes my palms sweat and makes my mouth water. It grosses me out. Like foam or cotton balls... yuck, nasty.

  • Ahaha my sister is the same. i always thought my sister was a whackjob for always having her hands above water so they don’t get pruny. Tbh still think she is. But at least her kid is the only exception to the no-pruny-finger-touchy-rule.

  • what about her toes, she needs shoes too 💁🏼‍♀️

  • Omg! I’m not alone, this is legitimately a thing!

  • We will free you Jimmy !!!!!

  • Omg my bestie his the same way!!!!😂

  • I thought I was just weird!! I absolutely HATE touching my own fingers when they are wet. It gives me actual chills down my spine. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. It’s like they stick together, almost drag when they touch. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!

  • So I get he's poking fun but honestly tho, I wonder if its the same for her feet? Does she have special shoes as well? I'd genuinely like to know more

  • Wait how does she shower? Is that okay? Lol

  • I have the same issue!! It's like fingernails on a chalkboard!

  • Hahaha I definitely have pruney fingerphobia

  • I love her so much. She's so honest and real.

  • I have this too! 😲 I can’t touch my fingers together if a little pruned as it makes me feel so sick. 🙌🏻

  • Having sex with her must suck! I’ll pass

  • I have this too i hate that feeling

  • She'd better not age. Pruny fingers are gonna be a problem for her when she's in her twilight years.

  • 😂

  • IS 👏 THIS 👏 O 👏 C 👏 D 👏 ???

  • What is she going to do when she’s an 👵 😂

  • who cares about that stupid stuff...

  • It’s kinda perfect that she was in Frozen with like the whole glove theme😂

  • wow, haha

  • It could just be a sensory thing

  • She’s so hot

  • Same. I hate it so much, especially in the shower.

  • I swear I like can't even ever wash my hands because of the same reason I got pruney hands one time and I actually started having a panic attack

  • I HATE wet hands

  • "medial condition" possibly not but it is a very real phenomenon. I have a similar issue whenever my hands get super dry or touch fine powders *dry reach*

  • omfg I have the same fear, and i’ve never been able to explain it until now.

  • I HAVE THIS!!!!!!!!! I can't touch cloth after my hands get wet! Wow, I've been going around posting about this condition everywhere, only to be met with "huh?" and "what?"

    • I hate grabbing the towel after a shower! It's like the main one I notice. Also can not touch cotton balls at all. Hate the feeling of prune fingers and won't even touch my own hands together.

    • My best working solution so far is white lithium axle grease, every real moisturizer just makes my hands feel wetter

  • I thought I was the only one😂😂

  • I thought i was the only one :0

  • I also cannot stand having wrinkled fingers.

  • It’s called a sensory issue. I can’t touch metal things that are really smooth.

  • OMG! I'm not alone!!!!!!!

  • I have a serious issue with feet, anytime naked feet are near me I get extremely angry or sick to my stomach. Or both.

  • I’m the same way

  • Oh shut up Kristen, we know you finger your wet pussy.

  • Cool

  • OMG Me 2!!!

  • Swear to anything I'm the exact same way. It literally makes my stomach feel like a knot almost like I'm nervous. My finger pads feel so raised to me. I also can't touch towels dried outside

  • No lead up to it at all... just asks to see her hands? Seemed awkward, may just be the editing though.

  • It's called a sensory trigger...SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER

  • I have this same problem with wet hands and then touching towels 😭

  • Weird

  • Oh so it’s like an overstimulation thing. She’s just really overstimulated by people touching her when they’re wet

  • I thought I was the only one who suffered from this

  • Sensory issues at their best...

  • Omg!! Haha this is me I can’t stand the feel of water on my hands from the pool and them touching!!! Your not alone!

  • Growing up whenever I would get out of the shower or pool I couldn't touch paper; it grossed and freaked me out so much; the feeling of paper. I literally used to wear gloves after I showered to do hw and read textbooks bc i couldn't physically touch the paper until hours later. It's definitely gotten better; but I understand the weird affects of stuff like this

  • I kinda have the same thing but with running hands I can’t do it myself and it is just AHHHHHHHH to watch other people rub their hands

  • Well there's another wasted You Tube minute

  • Need those gloves, now! #differentissue :)

  • What about wrinkly toes?

  • Bro I can relate and I have the same thing

  • okay i have that no joke

  • I know as I've gotten older (47😭)...that I don't like certain textures, also touching things like cleaning hair from a brush, or toenails once they've been cut. And last but not feet! You touch die! I know it might seem funny, and I'm glad she can laugh and embrace it, but for some people their phobias, etc can be almost paralyzing.

  • She has something thoroughly understandable. Most people have at least one phobia - I'm a bit greedy; mine are heights, dentists, injections & spiders (in ascending order). I suppose I'm screwed if I ever meet an 8-legged dentist who wants to give me a filling on the top floor of a tall building...

  • I have this condition 😂

  • It is actually the worst

  • OMG I do that

  • Wait wait wait. I hate touching fingers when they are wet or basically anything I feel sick

  • This woman needs serious psychotherapy

  • These Hollywood liberals are getting weirder by the day.

  • This is me as well! I can not handle it!

  • when people put their fingers in my face... rageeee

  • Jimmy (the show producers), you should make Kristen read the comments on this video. I love that woman.

  • White people problems 🙄

  • THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ME. I can’t, it gives me anxiety and I can’t even do dishes or be in the shower for long. Omg I thought no one else had this

  • Thank god shes cute cause shes crazy
