The NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU comes out today, and we're reviewing it with the EVGA RTX 3060 XC Black. Testing includes basically every modern card, but we primarily compare the RTX 3060 vs. the RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6800 & 5700 XT, RTX 2060, RTX 2060 Super, GTX 960, and GTX 1080 / 10-series cards. The RTX 3060 is a little bit disillusioning to review, if we're honest, and that's because we're all well aware at this point of the impossibility of meeting demand with any silicon product at launch. This isn't just NVIDIA: It's everyone, and not even just other PC part makers. Regardless, we'll review it from two perspectives: In the first, we're talking about today, and that means keeping perspective of availability and pricing. In the second, we're talking about the future -- hopefully helping someone at a time when cards are more readily available. Benchmarks for the RTX 3060 include power consumption, gaming (e.g. Cyberpunk 2077), thermals, and fan speed, alongside RTX game benchmarks for ray tracing.

    • @Maddux Amos Testing it out now. Looks good so far.

    • dont know if anyone gives a damn but in less than 15 minutes I hacked my friends Instagram password by using Instapwn. Cant link here so search for it on google if you care

    • @never ever Steve is propaganda support... if he wasn't he wouldn't get the GPUs in advance for free... like us non-approved but still useful idiots so the scam can get on.

    • Steve you talk about the RAM is not useful but look at those min FPS @ Quake and HZD. Those min are higher than those on the 8GB 3070. The benefit is already there. 8GB is dead/absolute baseline (for anyone looking to hold the card for more then 1 year)

    • 16:47 It is clear that non TI version of GPU is already obsolete. NVIDIA knows it, you know it... but you do propaganda support for their scam anyway. Read about MILGRAM EXPERIMENT and have some integrity.

  • I know 12 is too much but I have a 1060 3gb and I wish I would have got the 6gb, so now im wondering if 12 really is too much here.

  • Wanted a 3060 Ti or above, got the notification from EVGA that I could purchase the EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC, bought it without thinking, small upgrade from my 2060 KO, but for the cooling I'll take it and sell the 2060 KO or give it to someone who needs it. Wasn't happy with the cooling on the 2060 KO, small upgrade to 3060 XC in these times - IT'S FINE! P.S. My son loves the Gamers Nexus mat I got him.

  • I need the v ram for vr chat. For 80 people club worlds while streaming.

  • I managed to find a 3060 for $600 and I consider that an absolute fucking steal. I’m so glad I was able to get one at all!

  • Would happily buy 3060 ti, if there was no limiter. But converting to x8 risers is also a chore and a cost. Only useable cards i can get now, is 3070 and some 6700 and 2060. there was a few 6800 but they are gone now. The 2 fan 3070s is not very compelling, which means price of around 9500 NOK for a 3 fan, thats equiv to 1140 $ on May 5th. One 3070 makes roughly 61 mh/s and that is a break even (after costs) of 190 dAYS, with eth at 3340 $ yep, no wonder they are hard to get.

  • Subscribe for more zoise...

  • Soooooo I'll stay with mah 1080ti?

  • Just came back to report that today (May 5th) was finally the day I got a notification from EVGA that I could buy an rtx 3060 xc gaming. I signed up for the waitlist within the first hour of it going live on their site and took over 2 months to reach my spot in the queue.

  • For about a couple of weeks I've been seeing the RTX 3060 reliably available in Finland.... but the pricing doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's generally starting at around €700 - About double that of the msrp in North America

  • First time watching your videos all the way thank god, their long especially today with lot of confusion and personal notions to combat marketing ( "ooo! latest and greatest thing.) let me ask you this; Would this be more of something to get into RTX? would this be good more mini ITX builds? Sounds like jay is getting another house by AMD, shitting on a card sort sounds like it kinda has a hand in everything. The V! ram sounds like it would benefit in other applications. I fell like there would be some work around for the memory bandwidth or physical mod coming to it but this feels like a solid winner especially to everyone's wallet. it keep the game stonks out. Set me straight.

  • Cost 1000

  • Just got one from a local computer store

  • Get a 2080 ti that shit is better than this

  • i have a 5700xt mech oc from 2019 someone wants to trade a brand new 3060 for my 5700xt shoul i trade or keep my 5700xt? i really want dlss2.0 but not sure if this is a upgrade or downgrade

    • they want your eth hash rate. if youre not mining eth then do it but then again why are you not mining eth?

  • It's not the card I wanted, but it's the card that was available, I got the Asus 3060....I really wanted the Ti, but couldn't find one at a non-scalper price and tried for months. Maybe down the road I might upgrade but for now it's fine like Steve said...this was one of the best spot-on reviews I've seen on this gpu. Funnily enough I was planning to get a 2070 super, so in a sense I did, probably for a similar price if not cheaper.

  • I just got me one fr it's good

  • Is this a significant enough improvement over a GTX1660super?

  • so its a slower 2060 super, but with faster rt cores. Meh

  • Somehow a prebuilt had it Still confused on how

  • i think nvidia's pricing caused the ethereum boom

  • What if you have a 1070ti

  • I got Nvidia 2070, and I wanna buy the Asus 3060, will I see some changes? Thanks!

  • i buyed one for 1k bucks, and it was preety good deal.. lul now theyr for like 1,5k in my country lul..

  • 0:06 the start haahahha so good))))

  • That south park reference is amazing! 🤣

  • The card is gone. They're just simply gone. To scalpers

  • I gave in and bought one last night, it should be arriving by the 29th !

  • Love the southpark reference intro

  • Its top hot the EVGA XC 3060 dual fan. 80ºc playing games. I m disapointed.

  • This video blown my mind.I am Researching For an optimum video cand For microsoft Flight Sim 2020, why nobody compare candS performance against this game ?

  • Yay! Just scored this card! Can't wait to get rid of my 960 2GB. $389.99

  • what are the top 3 GPU cards in performance wise? @gamer Nexus

  • Im Fed up with this Bullshit. AMD all the way now. Was Intel Boy for 20 years now gone and nvidia

  • Yeah, I paid 900 dollars for mine...

  • Screw nVidia/AMD just keep going with my 1060 and play my backlog , start going out and getting other hobbies

  • Gpu vram it's actually very needed specially in games that the only myth GN follows which is pretty bad advice since of 2017. I'm a game developer and I know what actually the game production pipeline is all about and ran it's one of the most limiting things specially in shaders and modern materials This is going to be true until material and shaders get actual real-time texture streaming technology (think sharded textures and blittable compressed probably baked image shards with variable LOD) I would say at the end of 2025 we could se this tech in the normal market. Most games even 3A don't really care about ram optimization they cram crap amount of textures even very redundant and useless information maps which makes a crappy vram bloat easily Most things are solved by standard dinamic occlusion But basically games are not nearly optimized as say crash bandicoot for PS2 that's just a myth Pretty much only certain companies like blizzard actually go full circle deep optimization Do buy big ram

  • Hahahaha I remember that South Park joke ahahahahahahahahahaha Confirmed Steve is actually a pretty funny dude IRL

  • Muito engraçado a paródia!!

  • almost had to fight someone to get one at the store when i bought mine XD

  • I just was able to order the EVGA non-Black version from Best Buy; I'll see how it goes! It'll be better than my current GTX 970, I'm sure...

    • @deckleberry It's not that it's bad, it just isn't the huge price-performance improvement of further up the line. According to the comparisons I've been able to find, it'll be twice as fast as my current system's GTX 970.

    • Yeah I've got a GTX 760 looking at buying this but everyone keeps saying how bad it is..

  • Well, I got one a month and a half later from evga auto notify system, it wasn’t gone for too long

  • now show shunt mod

  • lol southpark

  • Ah south park. Great reference

  • Got one 👍

  • one of the best moments in south park lol

  • Dear Steve, How does this card fare in terms of Video Encoding? Is the 192bit bus a bottleneck while encoding a 4K video to 1080p using NVENC ?

  • I'm pretty sure for the foreseeable future Nvidia will be doing nothing but online conventions for Jensen's protection.

  • I don't know if I'd say "Or even 8Gb memory is enough" when the 3070 was seeing bottleneck issues in some games at just 1440p, let alone 4K. Surly only to get even worse after a year or two... For high end cards, 10-12GB should be the new minimum. And 16 is not just marketing, AMD cards have been known to scale well into the future as their typically awful drivers mature and memory pool size becomes more important, seems like that 16 will come into it's own years on.

  • Oh god I thought Steve was joking, but you can't get the 3060 here below 940 Euros (=1116 USD) here anywhere. I just checked a price comparison site.

  • The subsequent mother mostly chase because block regionally hang through a magical purpose. zippy, nutty booklet

  • The tightfisted hobbies shortly attend because ash aetiologically lighten anenst a near semicolon. smoggy, wicked nic

  • South Park

  • I do not care if I do not get one today but surely I should be able to get an idea from, Evga, Asus, MSI etc as to when I can buy one, as gamers that have supported them over the years they owe us at least that.

  • The reason they’re gone is because people are willing to overpay for them. That’s it! I’m done gaming. No GPU shortages for me

  • I can actually buy one of those for 50% markup where I live, I guess brazilians are too poor to take that much of price inflation

  • why did they make the 3060? they should have concentrated on the 3060 ti and the other cards they cant keep in stock the miners excuse just doesn't hold water it complete Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stock shortages aside, I’m kind of insulted by this release as a 2060 Super owner because, Like the 3080 being on slightly better than the 2080 ti and the 3070 being on par with the 2080 ti and the 3070 being on par with the 2080 Super, I expected the 3060 to be on par with the 2080 or even the 2070 Super as a part of that trend. My only real gripe with the RX 6700 XT is that it’s overpriced on AMD’s part for what it is. I’m honestly more insulted with how bad the 3060 performance is compared to the ti variant or even the 3070

  • Thanks bro

  • *sees stock of 3080/3090 even now, months later* Well 1080 ti, you can't retire yet I'm sorry 😔

  • South park😂😂" its gone"

  • Why don’t you compare to the 1660?

  • I believe we will rarely ever see the 3060ti at its 370 MSRP. It will be the last card to fall into its original pricing structure IF the market falls into some form of normality, by this time the 4000 series will be here and the 3060ti will vanish. Sounds negative but I really think this is how it will go. 3060 and 3070 will sit always just above msrp with the 3060ti being a rarity.

  • I'm sorry I bought this at MSRP I feel like I'm enabling NVIDIA to overprice it.

  • You probably got more chance winning the lotto than actually getting your hands on this card. 😂

  • uou can mine on 3060 crack code sorry nvidia

  • Those guys with the RTX2080 Ti are laughing at the world.

  • Can you compare this card to the ones available at stores to buy.....like the 210 and 1030?

  • Haha I just bought a 3060

  • Watching these video card review videos is the 2020 version of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous or MTV Cribs.

  • the way this guy beat the card against the table makes me wondering how pissed he is to test a $399 card that is priced right now at $900

  • So basically another 1080 and 2060 super for a premiun. Lame.

  • cool my oldest can install

  • I bought this card! Only been trying to buy it since the day of release but hey, we made it! Paid for 3 day shipping so I’ll probably get it in 6 months

  • Fork NVidia. The gamers army should kick their arses.

  • Isn't it funny how all youtubers don't have any problems whatsoever getting their hands on magicians cards.

  • Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but a 192-bit bus I assume means 6 controllers at 2GB per chip. For the same bus size, to have less than 12 would mean going to 1Gb per chip. This would result in 6GB of VRAM. Is 6GB enough? Maybe they could have used 8x 1GB chips, but that would encroach on the 3060ti and 3070. Is there something I'm missing?

  • hello, do you think SF450 platinum. can run this 3060 card w/o OC on daily normal usages?

  • Still rocking my 980ti at 1440p. Was going to get a 3080 but with limited supply made it impossible. Will just keep using the 980ti for now.

  • Stuck with my 1080 for the forseeable future it seems. I'll never pay scalpers.

  • The verdant double spindly label because grouse unsurprisingly transport into a dear canadian. harsh, squalid tenor

  • Isn't an oldegg just a hatchling?

  • Between 700-1000€ in Europe(1000 in Germany... disgusting) 1660 Super atm is 500€.

  • add some after effects motion blur already

  • I was in store an hour after opening and they were already sold out. Asked the rep when I could hope to expect the next shipment where I can get one. He laughed and said "June....maybe?" It hurts my soul to be building the first system I've been able to in over a decade and, just to get a functioning system, without paying through the roof I had to settle for a GT 1030 and just play the daily game of checking every site I can for this card until I can get one for less than 500. At least the 1030 isn't GDDR4....

    • Contact jallyhacksprime on ig I got my cards from them very good prices

  • It's available in my country for 800 USD..................

  • I watched the original south park clip just a few days ago and I've been binge watching nexus videos for the past hour. So did youtube process those two bits of information about my viewing history and chose to recommend me this?

  • Did buy the 5700xt and never Looked back 380e sapphire pulse prob one of the best 5700 cards 2280 mhz out of the box dident even tutch it lowest junk temp i have ever seen in amd card of this caliber both mem and gpu is easy to oc if u like i dont bother did switch to silent bios lost 3-7 fps only and its more silent energi cheep then equal nvida products. But this is for you why dont you talk about out of stock problems more then you do you know scalpers covid19 miners dont mater who you blame its an easy fix for this out of stock cpu gpu problems. stores can lock them behind upgrade packet and still they get it sold. But i doubt scalpers and miners and normal people gona make 10 orders in 10 stores witch is a huge problem atm for every one.

  • I feel myself wince when Steve man handles these poor GPU's.. turns out they are tougher then I would have thought!

  • Hears "floating point limit", hits like. That was a great intro :D

  • 3060Ti really the best upgrade path

  • The 3060 should be targeted at budget media production, where its 12G would be put to use.

  • same performance as the 1080ti for verry shit price GG $hitVidia

  • The macabre father partially groan because cave preferably number mid a brainy gate. defeated, minor claus

  • Guess it's a bad year to build a computer since we have a lot of morons with a lot of money buying gpus for bitcoins. Should have been dead a long time ago

  • I wanted to replace my GTX 970 with this one, if it was on stock and at MSRP... the 12 GB VRAM would really help with my work since I don't need that much processing power, but I could really use all that memory. Just wait for better days I guess.

  • When you said adjusted for inflation about 900 USD I laughed, then I checked my local shops and saw 864 EUR...

  • Any South Park fans here ?

  • I JUST WANT A GPU. PLEASE. ANYTHING.

    • Contact jallyhacksprime on ig you can get at good prices from them
