@Filip Smid Hey I went to your channel to check out your 15 minute Benchy and all I saw were low-res videos of the most inane models known to man, and they apparently took upwards of an hour each for the most part, usually 2+. Can you please link me your 15-minute Benchy? Thanks!
Congratulations on the next generation! The original Prusa i3 design was a major inspiration and we still love ours. There have been so many incredible developments over the last 10 years, and it's great to see the newest iteration incorporating so much of what we have learned in a classic form factor. Great job on the new machine and kudos to the talented team at Prusa Research. May your next 10 years be as transformative as your first!
Made the untimely venture into 3d printing roughly a year ago, right before moving to our family house. The sheer amount of household items, wall mounts, alternative hinges offered by the prusa portfolio (and I mean Portfolio.. slicer, printables, webshop..) was and is insane. The team and the community really built something here. Happy to see the developments continue, and all of us be happy part of it. Thank you.
Congratulations Prusa on the releases and all the makers getting any printers! Loving my MK3S+ and minis for now, but always enjoy seeing the advancement in technology for others. Also, see y’all using the LTT screw driver! 👀👀👀
@mecra My wife and I have both used ours extensively since release and so far the price is my only complaint. That said, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.
As always, great to see that upgrading is available from a Mk 3. Kudos. Great incremental upgrades, that add up to a lot. I like it. That said I may keep my customized Mk3 and add a Mk4. I wonder if you guys made belt tensioning any easier... tensioning the Y axis under the bed instead of up front at the pulley is silly, and the same goes for tensioning the X axis, at least on the mk3. But... fixed that with aftermarker printed parts, can probably do just that on the Mk4 if needed.
I have the 3S and was considering doing the upgrade, I looked at the prices for the 3.5, 3.9, and 4, and since I really want the new motors that eliminate the vertical artifacts, I need the full 4 upgrade which is $579, but for 220 more, I could have a whole new 4 and still keep my old printer. So I think I’m gonna go for the kit for $799.
This is amazing you've really done what looks like a refined blend of the best of the hobby engineering (voron/klipper) and made what I'm sure is going to be another rock solid and open source machine! Looking forward to ordering one!
My first was made from sh*t and sticks, sourced from everywhere (ali, local hardware stores and flea markets) MK2 in 2014. Then some Chinese nonsense clone of Ender3 (which is Prusa's clone in it's turn), and year ago I returned back to Prusa family. Boi oh boi I'm happy with my decision! Going to upgrade my MK3S+ to MK4 by all means.
While I welcome the mk4, wth took so long? This should have been out sooner. Hopefully it brings with it the trademark quality and reliability of previous prusa printers. It is a desperately needed printer in the world of slow as molasses off the shelf printers. Now if they offer it with a larger build volume they would beat Bambu and retake some lost market share.
Seems like another good product! And even if your options aren’t the *cheapest* i will still support them (along with other like minded developers) due to your role in keeping the Open Source dream alive! (Currently using my first 3D Printer, an i3 MK3S+ I’ve had for a few months now and loving every bit of it)
Congratulations on this great milestone. Just the fact that I can upgrade my mk3 with a kit makes Prusa a great sustainable brand. Keep up the great work!
If I wasn’t building a high speed printer I’d immediately buy this, definitely over a bambulab. Love how it’s open sourced, really need to check out the Nextruder in CAD. Love what you guys do, and this is amazing! Now it’s a whole lot more understandable why XL had some delays
@Adam Riese Not quite- when I say incredible looking I meant more the feature set, the extruder looks amazing, the new motors, etc. I am considering how promising it looks. not just the visual looks!
Good on you Prusa! This is what people were hoping for, and it seems you delivered. Now, all we need is a dual-z axis Mini with that same board for those that need a small footprint printer..
The fact that there will be a MK3 to MK4 upgrade is great! I only have space for 1 printer and I will 100% upgrade to this come June. I got a MK3S, then upgraded to the MK3S+ and it was fairly easy to do. 100% beats having to retire my old printer.
As someone who bought the Prusa i3 Mk3, and then got the Mk3S upgrade, it has been my all time favourite printer, while it has become louder over the years, its still my favourite printer, and the eagerness to get the Mk4 is real
Without a doubt. I stared with the cheaper Creality printers and I learned a lot, but once I got my Prusa I never looked back its just easy mode all day and all night don't need to worry about it!
I own 2 ender and a Mingda, but there's a ton of great features about this printer that I would love to have. The price is very steep for what you get (in my opinion), but I can understand why some people would be willing to pay it.
This was the way too do it. They now put themselves back in the game I can’t wait to see the XL nice job. I’m glad everyone put pressure on and you guys responded. I mean how could you not?!
I honestly still see bambu lab ahead of the MK4. But i dont want to be a grouch. Its a big leap for prusa and i hope people will be happy with it. Which Printer do you own / Will you get this one?
@Slamoto I have a voron 2.4 and a K3 that both run crazy speeds and print crazy materials one has an mmu. And I will never buy a machine that is locked down to proprietary stuff. I like fixing and building my own machines. That said this printer allowing more options and being open source is a big win in my book. If I had the money to blow on something it would be a fully CNC tool changer and not one of these machines. But I love to see that they are making it more accessible for people that do not have my skill level. For the kids etc.
Congratulations on all the improvements and innovations. None of the others even comes close to your innovation power! That being said... unfortunately the machine is way too expensive for a bed slinger - people expect CoreXY for that price.
Sorry... I'm new to this ... Reading up about options to decide what printer to buy. After I watched this video..my gut is telling me this is the one. But what do you mean by "open source" if you don't mind me asking?
@René van der Westhuizen open source mean that they shere all the information and do not claim rights on the technology. They developed free software which can be used for every 3D printer, and even the files for building there one hardware are available and shared publicly. I one MK3 and definitely recommend it. I guss the MK4 gonna be grate to, but there is always risk in buying something which was not tested by other people yet. Good luck (:
man, i just got done buying, assembling, and fully getting into my mk3s+ not even a month ago with lots of up and down moments. The assembly was seriously enjoyable and just goes to show that it teaches you how it all goes together so for any maintenance you don't have to look at the instructions like a lego manual. I myself have had to fix a sticking FS lever and some weird Thermal Anomalies already, but still great knowledge nonetheless. Nonetheless, it is nice to see prusa still offer the ability to upgrade the printer if I want to like their previous versions of the i3. I think the mk4 is a serious game changer and a wakeup call for other manufacturers. Although I'm a bit skeptical on how octoprint will function with this version, but interesting to see how it unfolds.
@Lars the problem with core xy is how much time it takes to build and then all the issues that arise from the complexity of a core xy. The i3 design is still the best for small user friendly printers.
Wow!! What a great surprise. It has been a lot of fun to see how Prusa has grown through the years. Congratulations!! One more thing…I hope to order one soon.
The automatic calibrations is amazing and one of the best improvementals Would be good to know if the printer geometry will be the same. In case someone uses some Mods with Aluminium Extrusion Profils.
Already have the MK3 (got me running with 3d print, did not build it by myself), a Caribou and a selfbuild -very big-voron (350*350*485) (which I upgraded with unseen amounts of hours and money). From all my experience this new printer will be the one I'll recommend for beginners. But if anyone wants my MK3, I will take it myself :-) ...
Prusa invests a lot of time and money into the 3D printing world and so far has done a commendable job supporting an open source ecosystem, so I do intend to continue supporting the company. I've owned a Mini and a MK3S+ and they've been great machines. Especially the Mini, surprisingly. I've since replaced the MK3S+ with a Bambu X1C and I don't think I can really justify getting rid of that for a MK4. That said, I am a preorder holder for the XL and I intend to follow through with purchasing it. The fact that Prusa is actually going to attempt to bring to market a hassle-free corexy toolchanger is very exciting.
I always wanted a Prusa printer until Bambu joined the game. I was so close to buying a Bambu, but now I am extremely happy that i didn't! For the most part, the only thing that stoppt me from buy a Bambu was the noise. But now that Prusa has Input Shaper and Pressure Advance with nearly *silent* operation, I am sure that I am going to buy a MK4!!! Damn great job Prusa on keeping up with Bambu and releasing a worthy competitor!!!
I own a Bamb Lab printer and they have a "silent mode", which is 50% printing speed, insanely quiet imo. I can imagine that the promised silent ability of the prusa will be some sort of "silent mode" as well. If not its very outstanding. Let me know when you got yours :)! Have a good one
My X1C is the best printer I've ever owned. And I've had 2 Prusa's. More power to anyone enjoying the 3D printing hobby but I was so frustrated until I got my Bambu X1C. Happy as can be now!
I own 2 x1c and cant imagine going to the slower prusa. Also imputshaper and pressure advance do not ship with the unit as they are still testing. Wouldnt want an unfinished product.
The faster you go, the noisier it gets, the parts flex more as do the frame, eventually if you want less noise, you’d have to dampen the noise with some sort of enclosure or strap or bolt down the printer so some of the noise making force gets transferred elsewhere. Moving parts make more noise when you apply more force and more velocity. It is what it is.
I disagree upgrading holds back progress there's literally only so far you can go with making something better using the same tech and form factor. There's definitely some improvements but the cost alone just makes me laugh. If they cared about there customers they'd bring that cost down. It's like paying smart phone prices for a flip phone.
@R The kit costs 500 dollars for all of the upgraded components, the only thing that remains the same is the frame, psu and some motors which could probably easily be swapped in. This printer is a huge step up from the mk 3 in every way
Prusa sure took their time, but this looks like it was worth the wait. A huge number of quality of life enhancements and performance enhancements, where even just a single one would make my hyped, yet they have a whole mountain of them!
This is the upgrade I was looking for for my MK3S! Now all I can hope for is that the MMU3 will also become available soon and that it will work reliably (unlike the MMU2)
This looks pretty cool! Input shaper FTW! Will there be a kit to upgrade MK3s to have input shaper? Edit: Just got to 3:32 and saw upgrade options. Very nice!
CONGRATULATIONS, GUYS. This is AWESOME, and it's what the maker community has been begging and waiting for eagerly for so long. Already on the website shopping. Keep up the good work!
What without even seeing a review of the MK4? the majority of 3D printers have a few teething problems at launch and Prusa are among the very few companies that fix them, however, from what I have seen today it is not enough to stop me buying an X1 Carbon for less money, I have a MK3+ but I dont think I will be upgrading it to a MK4 unless the reviews change my mind.
Wooooooo... pretty! There is so much to like. The motherboard layout looks great with ethernet, usb-c, and wi-fi connectivity. The 'nextruder' gearing is appealing (and sorta hypnotic to watch - clear plastic cover, anyone?). Nozzle change? Are you kidding me? Love the idea! So much to like; so much to love! Thank you.
I use 4 MK3s at my day job, Prusa printers rival parts coming off my personal 33k Stratasys Dimension printer I used for 10 years. the MK3s make the Dimension obsolete. Im sure the MK4 is going to be good, looks really nice. I have a XL on order to actually "replace " my Dimension, I can't wait to get it.
Only company I know of, other than Printed Solid...where you get a receipt with your printer that shows you all the parts made it through inspection. No wonder why you two made a good match!
I had the MK1, MK2 with MMU and currently the MK3s+ with MMU2s. I must have the MK4 with MMU3. 😍 I Love Prusa, best Printers, best Slicer, best Printables Website 😍and very personable 😍
Happy to see updates, but it feels completely zoned out of the current market. 1k for a bedslinger, with the p1p for basicly the same price with a material switcher or 700 without it just feels strange to have this slower older style printer for the price. I'm guessing the open source might be what makes it worth it, but idk, still feels priced completely wrong.
Love my MK3S (11.5 km printed), was dead reliable. 100% buying the MK4 upgrade kit! My MMU2S was the opposite. Really hoping the MMU3 solves the issues!
Yeah my first reaction to the MMU3 was a bit bitter for me because I literally removed my MMU2s from my prusa to get reliable prints. I hope the upgrade will be cheap as a apology.
The whole extruder seup, nozzle replacement and the ABL is so awesome that I would have considered this an April fools joke if this video was released on 1st April. Amazing features but the price is heart shattering :/
@Trna yeah but the upgrade kit is hard to swallow if you have the mk3s+ its nearly the cost of the printer you already have and you have to print all the printed parts yourself...
@Joseph Greiner With all the parts you replace on a full upgrade, you might end up buying some aditional cloned parts from China for about 200$ (if Aliexpress has a sale) and end up having a mk3s+ clone (with original bondtech and e3d parts) and a mk4... It seems the full upgrade mostly keep the bed, psu, frame, rods and bearings. Everything else changes (or can be printed a second time yourself).
Wish they made print volume bigger, with everything else being better, figured they'd give bigger print space. Especially with the Prusa XL not being available for some time. Guess I'll find a different company that has what I'm looking for
Hmm , Its a good step forward but i still see the bambu lab ahead. Kinda feels like the MK4 is at the state at which the MK3 should have been a long time ago. Especially when you take the price in consideration. Yet a big leap forward always makes me happy. Good 3d printer will push the consumer Printer even further. I hope many people will find joy with this printer.
When i saw the price 😅 at this point it's marketing and quality, honestly i was never impressed by bed slingers. And I have an i3 clone, amazingly reliable printer. I even designed a lot of parts for it. But my old faithful that still prints is a MakerBot Replicator (those old wooden ones), but recently replaced by a Creality cartesian printer (Sermoon D1) which was there first step into a high end consumer printer, TONS of design flaws which I've been fixing/redesigning and adjusting the g-code for. It's no Bamboo Labs P1P but I'm printing perfect prints at 200mm/s 1000mm/s^2 without input shaper ran on it yet 😮 right now the limiting factor is a bearing that's starts to chatter (it's been greased) when you pass 250mm/s 😢 but works on 500mm/s 5000mm/s^2 😅 as long as it's a small print 😂 then it catches too much speed and the sound is horrific lol (using the Sonic Pad, total game changer)
Yep, same here..lol I saw the upgrade kits too... They don't seem worth it in price. Why pay $579 for the mk4 upgrade kit when you can spend $250 more and get an entirely new printer... They'll be back in stock though so no worries. I love my mk3s (have the + parts in the box) but this 4 will be nice addition! The XL is just too large of a machine for me. I do wish the mk4 would be slightly taller or larger print bed. That's a shame it's the same... but a plus cause we can still use all our current sheets for it.
Hello, The Original Prusa i3 MK4 kit is only listed on the e-shop to offer full product describtion, however it will be fully released in two weeks along with assembly guide.
@NewShockerGuy$250 is a lot of money, and that’s a comparison to the kit not the assembled printer. Not everyone is capable to build a printer. Not everyone has the space for 2 printers, so the upgrade kit will keep n>0 number of printers out of the landfill.
Granted it’s probably written down in a blog post somewhere, but that MMU3 looks somewhat ERCF derived which is neat. Granted rather than individual tool heads, the filament swapping is always a but janky, but supposedly that kind of design works decently well.
90% new hardware, upgrade path is sell your MK3 and buy MK4 (update - they actually do have an upgrade path from MK3S+ to MK4 and including the new stepper motors, it's $589 USD)
Very expensive. MK4 kit - €889, upgrade from MK3S+ to MKS4 - €639 (full upgrade kit without printed parts, electronics, nextruder, motors), MK3S+ to MK3.9 (electronics, nextruder but not new motors) - €549, MK3S+ to MK3.5 (electronics mainly) - €279 .
As a Prusa owner, I'm incredible stoked about this release, but it does make me wonder, will there be any MK2S to MK4 conversion kits? Are the parts completely different?... or more like... does it have any common parts at all?
Yes! You are correct that in the full upgrade the majority of the parts got updated. But we prepared several versions of upgrades, 3.5, 3.9 and full MK4 upgrade. So you can pick what works best for you. ;) -Mikolas
Did a good job highlighting some of the things that people dont like about Bambu, like being open sourced, quiet, able to be used "offline"(though so can the Bambu, people just dont like that you lose the camera functionality which you wouldn't have here either). Still Its good to see that the video was thought out and addressed some of those things to make it stand apart. Value wise I think Bambu still has it beat (at least for the assembled price) but still a good update on a well tested design over all.
I’m sold! Been waiting on the E3D obxidian nozzles and considering taking the revo hotend out to print filled filaments again. This nextruder just put my revo hotend up for sale. Looking very forward to doing this upgrade! Woo Prusa!
Just placed my order. The X1C looks nice and all however, open source and customizable along with owner upgrades and maintenance are more important to me. Prusa gets my business again.
This is without a doubt a very good and solid printer. But also what I was afraid would come form Prusa next.. Another small iteration on a bedslinger. I feel like anything less then Bambulabs corexy machines is going to loose out. This would have been a banger release pre x1c and p1p :p I was hoping for a Prusa version that also could compete on price.
@Seriously Serious Exactly, I don't get it at all. The price is rediculously high and features nothing new at all really. I have both a mk3 and X1C, guess which now sits un-used.
I believe the MK4 is at the stage at which the MK3 should have been a long time ago. The next evolution from Bambu Lab is maybe already waiting around the corner. Bet it will take a long time before the MK5 comes out. They are behind badly imo. Yet its great to see a lifesign from them.
@Slamoto But that's part of the problem imo. Would you rather see manufacturers go the Creality path, bringing out new, barely tested models constantly just to sate your dopamine hunger and pull money out of your pocket? Or would you rather have them release a machine that combines everything, is well-tested before releasing it into the world, and even provides upgrades for users of the previous model? Easy choice for me.
Finally 😁 - waiting now for the kit... but still, that large extruder drive gear does not look like an improvement, at least not without a middle 3D channel like in the previous solution.
My MMU2S was a nightmare. Eventually I gave up on multi-material printing and just used it to keep different filaments on-hand. Eventually I gave up on that too. The MMU3 will be an improvement but I’m hoping it’ll actually be good.
There is no mention of the stiffer frame or thicker Z axis rods in any of the upgrade kit options (even though the Mk4 upgrade kit states "full MK4 upgrade"). It would be nice to clarify this so buyers can better choose between an upgrade vs new Mk4 printer purchase.
the Mk4 is going to go toe to toe with the P1P. The Mk4 is newer with colour LCD, Nextruder, and Prusa's firmware/slicer. But the P1P is cheaper, has CoreXY (for higher potential print speeds), bigger build volume, more widely available. both has "sensor-less" auto leveling
Looks impressive...and I just upgraded from Mk3s to Mk3s+. Will the Mk4 upgrade-kits contain the multicolored printed part for the control panel, for those of us who have no MMU?
@Jakub (Prusa Research) That's quite disappointing. Given that the largest Upgrade is almost the same price as a new printer kit and that the Mk3s+ Upgrade contained the ASA fan shroud, I had hoped Prusa would maybe include a multicolored part for those of us who don't have the MMU.
@Torben Pirwitz We are still collecting feedback and if we have more requests like this, we will reconsider. And if not, you can just contact our support with your order number and we will add this specific part to your order.
I must admit, i hesitantly ordered a bambulab x1c about a month ago because i was tired of waiting for news from prusa.. and when it printed the first few prints i started to worry about you guys and i thought i'd never run another print on my mk3s.. but two days later, the x1 crashed into a plastic drip it had left on the print without noticing the crash.. it continued the print about 8cm offset on the y axis, then generated spaghetti and finally ripped off its extruder cover before it finally came to a halt.. i have since printed a bunch of parts on my mk3s again regretting my purchase... thanks for this awesome new printer, i'm looking forward to the kit, loved building the mk3 and cant wait to get started on the mk4 and evengually upgrade the two mk3 to a 3.5.. that looks like a good plan... anybody interested in a barely used x1c? 😅
@nyc863 there are plenty and they are not expensive. Guess he is just frustrated because of that failure. I can totally understand that. But thats of course not representative for the actuall state of the bambu lab printers. They are outperforming the Prusa mk3. They are also better or at least similiar to the MK4 for a much lower price point. P1P that is. Im happy to take his x1c when the price is right haha.
So you’re all good with spending how many hours building, tuning and troubleshooting your mk3 but your X1C has one issue and it’s time to throw in the towel? Ever stop to think it’s because you might hold the Bambu to a higher standard?
Hello, with all due respect and admiration, I think the time has come to present us with a new and redesigned product, with expectations set on other objectives... After all, it is already tiring to see practically the same machine year after year with upgrades. Or at least, leave it as a classic model, but I think the time has come to offer us other options, redesigned from end to end, according to what is being seen in other manufacturers and that is leaving us very surprised.
Well, now I will have a hard time talking myself out of buying MK4 to complement my MK3S+ since I already have Prusa XL on preorder and could put the larger build volume to good use. Or maybe having 3 printers isn’t too bad after all? 🤔
I was so fucking hoping this would happen. I have been saving for months for a new printer and wanted prusa because 1) reliable, 2) open source, 3) support 4) what prusa meant for the community. but I was not able to justify the price for the mk3. But NOW! Thank you !
From someone who's Mk2.5 is starting to feel really long in the tooth, I have 2 questions: 1) Is this going to be price competitive with the P1P? It sounds good but not any better than what BambuLabs is offering and the P1P is pretty cheap for a premium printer 2) Have you improved the belt tensioner setup? The belts on my printer keep coming loose and it's a right pain to retighten them when I need to do it so often...
I love when they show you the coolest video launch and then go…wait…we almost forgot…then boom! Drop arguably the coolest feature of the entire video hahahahahaha good sense of humour (mk4 and XL videos)
Oh well... This fixes the three most annoying issues I have with my MK3s+: VFA (finally they acknowledge them), very finicky nozzle change, not-fully-automatic first layer calibration (the Z offset changes when changing sheets and of course one sometimes forgets to change presets 🙄). But the upgrade kit is too close in price to a full MK4. And I just cannot justify a second printer to my wife 🙈
Buy just the upgrade to avoid the need to justify a second printer to your wife. Than upgrade the bearings (does not matter if they are O.K., there are always more quality ones). Than change the rods as your old are worn out. Also to make the printer more rigid, do the Prusa Bear upgrade. All you need now is to invent a reason for a new bed and PSU. After that you can build a mk3s+ just from old spare parts and some prints. Totaly free, so no need to justify it ;-)
Eeeh. Nice one. Hope you guys will also make a Mini V2 with upgraded HW and SW. I love this little guy from the bottom of my heart. Please give him some love too. The new features look tasty.

That's the one you can get on Ender in about 15minutes? Nice. You're getting there..
Oh no. I just ordered the Mk3s+ kit four weeks ago. If only I had waited a few weeks.😭

It's honestly a good screw driver. Expensive as fuck but good.

You could always make small adjustments at the front pulley if you left a gap between the pulley and frame on the mk3 and later variants

@Jared F It looks like the kit version is not avaiolable.
This is amazing you've really done what looks like a refined blend of the best of the hobby engineering (voron/klipper) and made what I'm sure is going to be another rock solid and open source machine! Looking forward to ordering one!
Holy shit! This was unexpected 😍 looks super awesome ❤ My first printer was the Mk2! MK4 seems like the perfect upgrade 😍❤️
Same here! 😍

Looks really stunning, a very positive surprise. Since its not easy to make a better version of an already amazing printer.
Excellent to see full support for the old models as always! Open source for the win!
Congratulations on this great milestone. Just the fact that I can upgrade my mk3 with a kit makes Prusa a great sustainable brand. Keep up the great work!
Great addition to the line of some of the most reliable printers out on the market for hobbyists.🎉

I bought an Mk2 back in the day and a Mk3 and I will probably end up buying this! What an incredible looking machine you guys have built!
incredible looking machine? It is looking wise nearly like the mk3 or am i wrong (besides the screen)? I mean the facts are counting
@Adam Riese Not quite- when I say incredible looking I meant more the feature set, the extruder looks amazing, the new motors, etc. I am considering how promising it looks. not just the visual looks!
@ArticTiger 1100$ and u get a 3d printed bedslinger. When u can get a bambulab that is faster and prints better LoL
@Jhon doe so you tested the new Prusa?
@Adam Riese Ong people are freaking over old technologies being added to a mk3.
Good on you Prusa! This is what people were hoping for, and it seems you delivered. Now, all we need is a dual-z axis Mini with that same board for those that need a small footprint printer..
Really awesome upgrades! I hope this printer will be a trend setter in the industry!
The fact that there will be a MK3 to MK4 upgrade is great! I only have space for 1 printer and I will 100% upgrade to this come June. I got a MK3S, then upgraded to the MK3S+ and it was fairly easy to do. 100% beats having to retire my old printer.
Really nice to see some multi colour parts in the MK4 - shows faith in the MMU3
Boosting engagement on comments about the MMU3. I really hope it’s good, my MMU2S was a nightmare.
The new motors to avoid the vertical artifacts are absolutly an improvment compared to the mk3s+ i really want this thing!
Considering the XL still has it and this one also uses the nextruder I'm guessing that still isn't solved.
@DrPhatDooky true
Love the innovation and technological progression, even if it took a while, but that price tag (kit or assembled) is still a hard pill to swallow.
Congratulations. It’s an engineering marvel and a work of art. Wonderful. I can’t wait to get mine.
Congratulations on all the improvements and innovations. None of the others even comes close to your innovation power! That being said... unfortunately the machine is way too expensive for a bed slinger - people expect CoreXY for that price.
GZ, cant wait to see some reviews on this one! Never stop with the open source approach guys (:
@alon youval thank you so much for the explanation. I really appreciate it.
man, i just got done buying, assembling, and fully getting into my mk3s+ not even a month ago with lots of up and down moments.
Most manufacturers ended the i3 era. And its good, because a CoreXY-Cube is better in every subject.
@Lars the problem with core xy is how much time it takes to build and then all the issues that arise from the complexity of a core xy. The i3 design is still the best for small user friendly printers.
Now you can use Prusa connect as an alternative to octoprint 😉
@Cine Zone But >1200$ is not a price for a small i3 printer.
And for the voron it is only for the experienced. There is a better alternative from Prusa, too.
The X1 prints so damn fast I don't even care what noise it makes. I'd rather listen to stepper noise for two hours than quiet steppers for 8.
This is great for existing Prusa users, you listened to users and made it happen! Will be buying!
I'm super hyped about this, prusa is a great company and the fact alone that they have upgrade options is phenomenal, take note other companies!!
This printer is a huge step up from the mk 3 in every way
@gingr OK you tell yourself that lol v-minion is better as far as old tech goes.
Prusa sure took their time, but this looks like it was worth the wait. A huge number of quality of life enhancements and performance enhancements, where even just a single one would make my hyped, yet they have a whole mountain of them!
It's been two weeks and I am ready for the kits to be released today! Who else is ready?
This is the upgrade I was looking for for my MK3S! Now all I can hope for is that the MMU3 will also become available soon and that it will work reliably (unlike the MMU2)
I’m in the same boat as you. Love my MK3S. Hated my MMU2S. Buying the upgrade kit and hoping the MMU3 actually works.
They saw your video a month ago and started working Kappa
If this turns out to be an April Fools joke, I'm taking my Printables account offline...
You said in the video that bed slingers are dead. 👀
Ordered!! Excited to see results
It is the significant speedup in print times. The auto first Layer calibrations. As well as the MMU option that makes me want to buy this model.
Wooooooo...
Should we tell him or not?
No. Let's just let him figure it out on his own
@Tyler Silcox he already knows-reading is fundamental.
@JRT3D It was a simple joke, wasn't trying to upset you or anybody else. Have a good one.
My MK3 has been working every time, every day since I bought it 4 years ago! Never adjusted anything! So this can only be totally awesome 😀🫡
Looks great!!! Feels like this came out of nowhere, and it's shipping now!
Looks incredible, imagine this hardware and speed on 500x500x500mm build volume. No shipping to Russia, so I'll stick to my Cr-10 v2 for now 😢
Wow! This looks INCREDIBLE! The MK3S+ was amazing and now this. Good Job Prusa!
I was expecting something a bit more in-line with the other printers from the "current gen". Looking forward to learn more about it though. :)
Yeah. Its not that impressive sadly. But its a lifesign from prusa , which is really great.
If the MK4 could work with the AMS, that’d be perfect.
@sers max well … the upgrade kit is only USD$89 ! A new one is $300, but that’s inflation-dollars so I guess it’s technically “cheaper”?
@Broski Snowski I bet there’s a way if one’s coding skills are up to it, but that’s a specialized skill set.
Agree MMU2 was almost a complete fail... totally unreliable. Not something I expected from Prusa. Hope they fix all the issues witn MMU3.
The whole extruder seup, nozzle replacement and the ABL is so awesome that I would have considered this an April fools joke if this video was released on 1st April. Amazing features but the price is heart shattering :/
Why? its just 200eur/10% more then last mk3 totally expectable and logical price if you ask me.
@Trna yeah but the upgrade kit is hard to swallow if you have the mk3s+ its nearly the cost of the printer you already have and you have to print all the printed parts yourself...
@ghost501ifythe full upgrade is going to replace most of your printer. I don't see the cost as that bad, considering what you get.
Nab brother, 800 quid is an absolute steal for a machine like this
Wish they made print volume bigger, with everything else being better, figured they'd give bigger print space. Especially with the Prusa XL not being available for some time. Guess I'll find a different company that has what I'm looking for
Super excited for this. I haven't gotten a new prusa since my mk2 when that came out, she's still going strong 7 years later!
Much anticipated upgrade, excited to see how this performs.
Nice! Love my Mini and MK3S. Considering upgrading to the MK4. Faster and smoother printing is always a plus.
Came 2 hours later and the kit is already Out of Stock! 😮 It shows already how nice this machine probably is. Well done guys!
This is huge! Excited to see MK4 actually coming!
its so interesting comparing the landscape that the MK3 entered vs the MK4. What a different time we live in now
Love the LTT screwdriver at 2:50
Great introduction of the MK4! Excited to see more
Looks like a nice upgrade! Congrats on the new release 🎉
Granted it’s probably written down in a blog post somewhere, but that MMU3 looks somewhat ERCF derived which is neat. Granted rather than individual tool heads, the filament swapping is always a but janky, but supposedly that kind of design works decently well.
MMU3 looks like MMU2. Honestly I can't tell them apart from what I see on the web.
Wow looks nice 👌 Can’t wait to put my hands on one of these 😁
This hit me as i realized that my printer is not the newest anymore. BUT IM MORE THAN EXCITED TO BUY THE UPGRADE KIT
Looks great! Can't wait for the Mk3/s/+ upgrade paths.
Already in the online dhop
@paolostubeyou yeah, the updates are major so they are mighty expensive. The MK3.9 seems interesting though.
90% new hardware, upgrade path is sell your MK3 and buy MK4 (update - they actually do have an upgrade path from MK3S+ to MK4 and including the new stepper motors, it's $589 USD)
@SH yep, paid 200 € more for my whole MK3S Kit. Since I got quite a few spare parts for the MK3S, I preferred adding the MK4 as a whole.
So you can pick what works best for you. ;) -Mikolas
@Prusa 3D by Josef Prusa I personally own a MK2, but I think I'm stuck in the upgrade path, would you mind if I email the staff for a bit of guidance?
4:02 Those minions are as excited as I am for the new MK4!!! Well done mr. Průša and the whole team!!!!
🎉 nice! Was not expecting this that soon! Very excited, this will definitely be my next printer. 😊
@icycoral If you went for with over the X1C you are making a big mistake.
Exactly - old tech with some new features is not worth what they're asking. Shame.
Hmm, I wouldn't exactly call it a "small" iteration... Feels like not much of the MK3 is left, except for the general look.
Awesome! I was worried maybe Prusa had lost some of the key magic, but nope! The MK4 looks effin spectacular!
Very cool! For prusa enthusiasts, can you work on linux or do you need to have a windows machine? I don't have any windows computer.
I am very excited to get my hands on one. Have been loving my Mk2 and Mk2s since I got em years ago, can't wait to get a Mk4.
This deserves a standing ovation 👏👏👏👏👏
Its a combination of some XL parts and the MK3. Calm down.
Looks neat! Hyped to get my hands on one!
Great company, I've got a MK3, mmu2 was a bit problematic, looks like a great user feedback inspired next gen, well done PRUSA
Mmu2 was more than a bit problematic. I'm cautiously optimistic about the mmu3
My MMU2S was a nightmare. Eventually I gave up on multi-material printing and just used it to keep different filaments on-hand. Eventually I gave up on that too. The MMU3 will be an improvement but I’m hoping it’ll actually be good.
Ok, this looks awesome! Time to get the other people in the family understand the need for one! Keep it up!
Hello, the thicker z-axis rods come with all the upgrade versions. The new frame comes only with the MK4 upgrade (not MK3.5 or MK3.9)
the Mk4 is going to go toe to toe with the P1P. The Mk4 is newer with colour LCD, Nextruder, and Prusa's firmware/slicer. But the P1P is cheaper, has CoreXY (for higher potential print speeds), bigger build volume, more widely available. both has "sensor-less" auto leveling
Very nice showcase! Im very excited when someone trys to innocvate the 3D printing market! This will be great!
Looks impressive...and I just upgraded from Mk3s to Mk3s+. Will the Mk4 upgrade-kits contain the multicolored printed part for the control panel, for those of us who have no MMU?
Hello, you will have to print all the plastic parts yourself. That includes the LCD panel cover.
Damn. This looks amazing. I love my MK2S but this makes my machine look poor by comparison.
Is there no repair parts available from bambu ?
@nyc863 there are plenty and they are not expensive. Guess he is just frustrated because of that failure. I can totally understand that. But thats of course not representative for the actuall state of the bambu lab printers. They are outperforming the Prusa mk3. They are also better or at least similiar to the MK4 for a much lower price point. P1P that is. Im happy to take his x1c when the price is right haha.
Poor luck. My X1C has been problem free since I received it early February
So you’re all good with spending how many hours building, tuning and troubleshooting your mk3 but your X1C has one issue and it’s time to throw in the towel? Ever stop to think it’s because you might hold the Bambu to a higher standard?
Sounds like user error and you gonna face the same with any 3d printer with that mentality
I am legimately excited about this. It's everything I wanted in the Mk4, and more.
But NOW! Thank you !
Take a long, hard, seriously good look at what Bambu has to offer. I'm not a shill, I don't even own one - all of my printers are DIY.
@Apophis2029 I have. But prusa is open source. That is very important for me
@TimePrincess And I can 100% get behind that. Happy printing!
1. No, it's $1100+
I've owned 2 mk2s since 2017 and decided to go with the Bambu X1C. If you can stretch the budget you should consider the Bambu.
Totaly free, so no need to justify it ;-)
Which printer do you currently own?
Eeeh. Nice one. Hope you guys will also make a Mini V2 with upgraded HW and SW. I love this little guy from the bottom of my heart. Please give him some love too. The new features look tasty.
Congrats on the release! 🙌 We look forward to supporting it in SimplyPrint!
While I'm still waiting for the XL, I just ordered the MK4... I'll upgrade my MK3S when it's available. I'm so excited to get the MK4!!!
Incredible, Prusa will always be a Legend.
love seeing that LTT screwdriver! Cant wait to get ahold of an MK4!
Looks amazing! Outstanding features! Got to get one :)
