Pippen said MJ used 'The Last Dance' to outshine LeBron - Skip & Shanon react | NBA | UNDISPUTED

čas přidán 2. 11. 2021
Excerpts from Scottie Pippen’s memoir got social media buzzing yesterday as Pippen didn’t hold back about how he felt about Michael Jordan and his documentary 'The Last Dance'. Pippen wrote of MJ quote, 'He couldn’t have been more condescending if he tried,' and also explained that his former teammate was determined to prove he's a bigger star than LeBron is now. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss Pippen's comment on MJ.

  • Last time I checked The Last Dance was about the ENTIRE Bulls organization, literally! From the owner, to the General Manager, to the teammates, down to the security guards. Why was it okay to show MJ’s gambling issues, him losing his dad, him looking like a bully, but they can’t show Scottie walking out on his teammates 🤷🏽‍♀️ Ain’t nobody taking shots at Scottie! They showed a lot of negative things about MJ, so if you’re arguing that it should’ve been more about the team, it already was and Scottie should take the good and the bad.

    • Because MJ had editorial control. He approved what went into the documentary.

Jordan in the other hand before Scottie carried the bulls to be a relevant team, Chicago was nothing before jordan. The front office just did a good job recruiting and getting good picks and help for Michael even if Scottie wouldn’t of gone to the bulls, Im sure Michael would still have won championships, in the other hand, Scottie by himself, being the man, wouldn’t have won a championship.

    • Scottie didn't even start his first couple years. When they did win a title he wasn't even an all star that year. True, MJ couldn't win it by himself. No one can. Not even the great Wilt Chamberlain. All he needed was a guy who could at least be a career 17,5,6 guy. That guy was Scottie. MJ did more with less.

    • Any good enough player can be the Scottie to Jordan that's how great of a player Jordan was. He doesn't need Scottie specifically. Jordan can make anyone a better and competitive player like what he did to Scottie

  • I think it's Bill Wenington who tells this story, but I may be wrong. Scottie challenged Mike to 1 on 1 after practice one day. Mike asked Scottie, "are you sure"? Scottie's like Yes. Mike proceeded to destroy Scottie.

  • “Scotty is a good, not great player” and “Scottie is one of the 50 greatest players of all time” show how much Skips narrative changes based on his argument.

    • Yeah Stephen A put it better, saying Scottie was an all time great. But he's wrong.

    • He was a top 5 all time defender and certainly the best perimeter defender in the history of the game

    • I mean, there’s levels to players. It’s like saying Klay is a good player not a great one, because he’s really good, an all time great and to me top 75, but the “great” players are the KDs, LeBrons, Stephs, Giannis’ of the world, because they’re on that highest tier of players. Same with Scotie, and that’s clearly what he meant.

    • u can feel how u feel but noone cares about u lol

    • Scottie can say how he feels, just how he feels are the feelings of petty, bitter ingrate. Essentially, he was sour over signing a stupid contract that he had no one to blame but himself for. He never once stops to consider that while he had an influence on the Bulls, perhaps MJ had an influence on him and helped him to achieve more as well. Michael didn't pay your contract, nor did he sign it. Scottie did some juvenile emotional things that displayed his ego came before his responsibilities to the team. After all this time, he still hasn't come to terms with the decisions he has yet to take accountability for. Scottie should have had nothing but gratitude for being a part of the legend that Jordan created.

    • Mj knows he needed pippen any great player need one more star now pippen wasn't a star from the start mj help him get to that level but I respect mj didn't go in join up With 2 or 3 hall of fame player's and if he he would win more now who know if mj didn't retire he probably would've won 8 straight titles remember pippen took them close Without mj so this let me know that if mj was there they would've won 1 or 2 but houston was happy mj stop playing that gave them 2 easy rings ,but it's my opinion mj IS THE GOAT just like it's it's other people opinion that LeBron is the goat so we shouldn't be about to fight over a opinion and mj nor LeBron James is giving us not a dime so I liked him as a basketball players but off the court he didn't but back into his own race instead he was cheating on his wife with u white girl keep the people who FOREFATHERS RICH and now he has twin by him now she's set for life that's all our black rich men do is run to a white lady bUT it's being with our Queens because they want to lead when the holy scriptures said a woman is not above a man they were put her to be a companion to us instead they give us he'll and the government making sure that we keep a broken home not wanting us to raise our youth with the mother and the father.

    • @@TheNiners6949 No..He wasn't..it's the truth..Scottie was the glue to that team. There is not a single superstar guard from the 90's-till today..that was better than Scottie (on both ends of the floor) at doing the things that..DON'T!..Show up on the stat sheet.

  • MJ is the GOAT and it was never a debate

    • It is a debate, no matter how much u nuthuggers hate in other players and try to boost mj up. Mj is not the goat in any aspect of basketball. No matter how much u say it.

    • Can’t be the goat when he hasn’t played in every era🤦🏽‍♂️

  • In response to Shannon...there were other stories told in that doc that MJ wasn't apart of either but they still made it in like Kerr's & Kukoc's story, for example.

  • 2:26 - 2:27 "Dah dabh oh blahdey do uh datwhuthesaaaaaaid!" "You betta read it!" This is meme perfect comedy gold..lol🤣

  • He's very passionate about Portland so much love and respect to Dame.. keeping you and you squad in prayer.

  • "He hit Steve Kerr in the eye, that was to make Steve Kerr better"😭😭🤣🤣🤣

  • Scottie brought his own elegance and all-round game during the same time that Jordan showcased his scoring prowess. We never watched and enjoyed Jordan without watching and enjoying Pippen the same time. For a guy who gave his best years to the Bulls getting physically beaten and bruised in the process, why didn't he win one without MJ isn't just a fair question. The Bulls gave him Pete Myers the 2 years that MJ was away in between the two 3-peats. Perhaps with someone a notch better, he might have just won. The Last Dance didn't make me change my opinion regarding anyone involved - I just enjoyed the basketball and the memories from those great years.

  • The strange thing about Scottie is that being named as one of the 50 Greatest isn't enough for him. Scottie is literally named in the top 1% players all time. That's not enough??

  • This show is absolutely amazing💫

  • This Scottie pippen Michael Jordan thing just kind of reminds me of Michael Jackson and Marlon Jackson. Marlon Jackson was a really really good dancer but most people wouldn't know that because he was overshadowed by the greatest dancer in pop history.

  • Scottie Pippen has the deepest voice in NBA History

  • shannon talking about Robin cracks me up

  • I say it Everytime...you can't be the goat in anything if you're 4-6 in the finals. It is what it is

    • I know I’m late but would you rather lose in first round or not make the playoffs? It’s weird that people would think that way…

  • Skip "I first guessed this" Bayless

  • Uncle Shay is hilarious

  • This show is awesome so happy skip picked Shannon to be his running mate

    • Shanon isca clown !! The LeBron thing just make any sense !!

  • Skip said Scottie Pippen is a good player not great player. That's hilarious. Scottie is one of the greatest 50 players and 75 players in NBA history.

    • Scotty is nothing if it wasn’t for Jordan. I agree with skip, pippen would just be another player playing in the 90s if he was on another team

    • He is definitely top 50. Jordan is #1, and he was Pip’s captain.

    • @@taichisavage you obviously haven’t watched his solo highlights

    • @@taichisavage Pippen literally was 3rd in the MVP race in 94 behind Peak Hakeem Olajuwon and Peak David Robinson. Pippen was the best small forward of his decade and he is the goat perimeter defender. MJ would’ve just been getting crushed by the Knicks if he didn’t have Scottie.

    • @@jerodjordan9570 Prolly 12 years old too

  • I’m so many words Skip letting Sharpe know u blessed to be on this show it’s me 😂

  • Shannon out here stealing Skip’s lines. Dude is a master troll 😂😂

  • 2:57 “I’m tired of being the bigger man” 💯💯💯💪🏾

  • Pippen was big time. I watched all the playoff series in the 90s n he was right there blocking shots, grabbing boards, guarding the toughest man, and dunking over bigs all the time. When pip left the bulls, he was getting old. He was even getting old his last year on the bulls.

  • Did Scottie even watch the whole thing? I don’t see anything wrong with how he was portrayed. If anything, it even made me appreciate him more. Under-appreciated dude who knew his worth and had to do what he had to do bc of the circumstances pitted against him. His actions were valid and should be everybody’s mindset. There were no shots taken afaik.

    • I concur

    • Michael was making over 30M that year, whilst Scottie was grossly underpaid at 3M and trying to leverage the team to make a little more. Mike thought that was selfish of Scottie.. Unbelievable.. It shows you what a tyrant and a utterly disgusting human being Michael was..

    • @@mikemills7943 well, to be fair, Scottie had several revenue streams. For Scottie, it wasn't JUST about the money. It was a matter of principle--compensation ultimately reflects how an organization values its members. And he wasn't wrong to gripe about that. As for MJ, I agree to some extent, he may have been insensitive but then again, the goal during the last dance was to do something legendary. And it wasn't as if it was only MJ who would've benefitted from it. The whole team would. What bothers me is why Scottie felt so slighted about how he was portrayed in the Last Dance. To me personally, I've identified with him and learned a lot from his struggles and how he dealt with them.

    • @@rhonda1704 well the owner told him not to sign the contract that he signed and wait till next year Bc he would have gotten more.. nobody put a gun to his head and made him sign it.. 18 mil for 7 years that terrible and he knew reinsdorf wasn’t going to renegotiate..

  • the last dance just put out the facts pippen did do those things and that is that, pippen will always have to live with those mis-steps but make no mistake he was still one of the greatest players ever but i feel this situation just shows pippen is still not at peace with those decisions which is sad!

  • MJ the GOAT !! his competitive drive alone is just SPECIAL!!! becus he did outshine lebron and everybody during the covid lockdown and showed the new generation how the ogs did it

  • Them knat bugs tearing them up 😭🤣

  • That shows how competitive Michael is. Old habits die hard.

  • Shannon is exactly right, Jordan never fought Rick Mahorn, Dennis Rodman, or any of the Pistons that beat him up

    • Lol whattttt? Do you even watch things for yourself .??? It's easy to find

  • Scottie trying to get the bestseller title🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Truth hurts😁

    • Or he's telling the truth and jordanite nation needs to accept it

    • Scottie needs to pump the brakes.

    • @@seandeans1279 he isn’t though. He and MJ used to practice outside the normal practice hours in MJ’s private gym on his Chicago property. How is that possible when they were never close friends or friends at all like Scottie claims? How was MJ being condescending to say Scottie is his greatest teammate and without him there is no MJ? Scottie even said that same thing in this article yet it’s disingenuous when Mike say it? How is that true when based on Scottie’s words he doesn’t actually know Mike cause they were never friends??

    • And he would have brought a .375 magnum to the rematch in the playoffs.

  • It's tough to believe anything that scottie says because he flip-flops on what he says a lot

  • Imo Scottie was the greatest 2nd best player of all time, he was talented but more importantly he was able perfectly play his role as the second best player in the team and mold himself to what the team needed.

  • They recorded that documentary in 1998, the intent and goal was to air that footage in the future one way or another.
