  • Remake so good the video itself got a remake

  • To anyone who saw this before it got taken down, I salute you.

    • Do we know the reason why it was taken down? I saw it the first time around and didn't think there was anything in it that would get claimed

    • Thanks :)

    • 🫡

    • So that's why I couldn't find it..

    • Yessir I believe it was removed when I had like 4 seconds left on the vid lmao

  • SAY IT WITH ME EVERYONE: let's watch it again for our favorite cosmonaut ❤

    • No until you say it’s Cosmonautin time

    • Time to Cosmit war crimes

    • sad dan noises

    • Ayyo cosmo pin the OP comment

    • Who is your favorite fearless streamer, who is your favorite fearless streeaamer

  • Such a good game he had to upload a second time

  • My favourite part of continuity between this and the re2 remake is after a fight sometimes Leon will shrug or rub his right shoulder the same shoulder he was shot in during re2

    • That’s actually not a reference to re 2. It’s a reference to the pain he feels from the plagas. He starts doing that after he’s injected.

    • One of my favorite little details that they kept from the original is the fact that after you help Ashley up something or catch her when she drops down Leon will rub his back slightly it's hilarious

    • @SH1NK1R01 yeah I thought that’s what it was

    • @Cali Jack that's only when she is wearing the knight suit right? cuz that is heavy

  • youtube, let this man upload something without getting demonitized for once

    • But then how would they pad their profit margins to hide flagging performance due to systemic mismanagement?

    • F A I R U S E

  • "This game truly makes you feel like an evil resident." I fucking love you marcus

  • As a long time resident evil fan I can safely say; this game is the video game equivalent to that scene in Ratatouille where the jaded tired and annoyed food critic eats the food and flashes back to his childhood and is happy. That's how this game made me feel for both my playthroughs thus far and I'm so hyped to start playthrough 3 after work tonight lol

    • Agreed. After not a bunch of AAA games I couldn't even finish bc eventually all the flaws and lackluster padding bored me, playing this reminds me that they can still be fantastic. And it's not because it had a cheat sheet (though that helped), the way they updated it for modern sensibilities worked mostly perfectly while maintaining the greatness (I do still prefer the original but I get why they did this). The issue is not us getting old, budgets, gamer expectations, etc. It's that they stopped trying to make fun games but clearly they're still able to if they wanted to and also not be predatory.

    • The original game takes me back to my childhood and makes me happy. The remake is what makes me into the jaded and annoyed critic.

  • Calling the knife from the original game useless is the most insulting part of this whole video. Stunning and Brave sir

    • It's almost like he played the original completely wrong

    • @Sir Pants the only use of the knife is for slashing enemies when you kick them and if your kick doesn't stun all the enemies you can't really slash them, and breaking boxes.

    • @حسن حيدر حازم you missed two important uses. Killing Kruaser as He takes very high damage from the knife, enough that knifing kruaser is the current strat used in most RE4 speedruns, and killing the regenerators if you don’t pick up the scope, a knocked down regenerator gets infinitely stunlocked by the knife

    • @S-Boy I don't see the krauser strategy as playing the game I see it as I don't want to fight this annoying boss regularly so I am going to stun lock him to death every time he comes close to me and regenerator method removes all the tension and fear from fighting them because you don't need a good aim to do it and it is not very hard.

    • @حسن حيدر حازم man, you're soooo cool

  • Knife in the original is definitely not useless. If you knock them down you can knife them to death to save ammo. Krauser boss fight is easiest with the knife. And the regenerators are the easiest to deal with if you use the knife.

    • When he said that I thought the exact same thing it's arguably more useful than in the remake

    • @Neil O Connor It IS more useful than the remake, because it doesn't fucking break in the original.

    • @ThatSamoanGuy Its not more useful. Id rather have a knife that can parry attacks and projectiles then one used for opening fucking boxes and hitting down enemies 1000 times

    • I'm with you on that fact. The knife in the original is one of the best weapons in the game, regardless of your skill level. If you're a beginning player, it's still useful for dealing extra damage to enemies that get downed after a melee attack as well as enemies that mantle or climb up ladders. And at a high skill ceiling when you completely understand how the combat works, you can use the knife to overcome even the most overwhelming of encounters thanks to how consistent the stun areas are. Walk back when an enemy attacks, run forward to them on recovery and knife their head to earn that context sensitive kick for crowd control. Even works Salvador if you're brave enough.

    • @Nolan Lehman I’d say the knife in both games is as useful as each other for different reasons. But for the video to say it’s useless in the original is just 100% false.

  • 4:47 holy shit! I just finished playing this and didn't even realise that's Marvin's knife! Just shows the developers actually gave a shit when they made this!

    • If you went the whole game's stort and didn't know, than it wasn't very important.

    • @ThatSamoanGuy of course it isn‘t important. It‘s just a knife. But the fact that they went through the effort to think about this/add this little detail is just so… perfect. Not every detail needs to be super impactful or stuff like that. They can just be what they are… details. That doesn’t diminish their presence or the game overall. It’s just a neat addition

    • that's not possible, I buried that knife into a zombie's neck 3 minutes after he gave it to me and never went back for it

    • @Nouh Just goes to show that, canonically, Leon took care of the knife

  • One of my favorite little details is when you go to the shooting range with Ashley, and she sits on a barrel cheering you on, it's just adorable.

  • Loved this game so much, glad Marcus did too. It'd be fun to see him play, review, and rank every RE game like his LoTR/MCU/Harry Potter Videos.

    • honestly great idea

    • Marc please do this 🙏

  • Absolutely agree. When this was first announced I was also in the boat of “it doesn’t need a remake”. I slowly became more excited and within day 1 I was absolutely floored. How do you remake one of the greatest games ever? Make it even better!

    • No

    • man i read this wholesome ass comments, then go "man thats great, they had a good time huh?" and then i see the pfp and my day gets ruined

    • I like this game, but I still think the original is better overall.

  • Not only did the original RE4 set the bar for third person shooters and the VR version set the bar for VR versions of games, but the remake set the bar for remakes. This game is just magic and brings the best out of devs.

    • No, RE1 remake set the bar for remakes. It did not censor or remove content like RE 2-4 remakes, it only added more content.

    • @RyuSaarvado you mean the cut boss that was the weakest boss of the original? This game is as long or even longer. This is the best remake ever made. You get more out of each character as well.

    • @BC animações There is a lot of cut content, not just one boss.

    • I’d still argue Alyx set the bar for VR games, but I agree with the other two points.

    • @RyuSaarva I think a good remake reimagines something imo. Not saying the RE remake wasn't great but it didn't really update the formula for new audiences so it undersold. Which is fine bc it was making a PS1 game a bit more palatable but it still played like a PS1 game. As opposed to RE2 and RE4 remakes. I am not a fan of all the changes made but I completely get why. Otherwise you can just play the originals

  • Cosmonaut Marky - The Best Resident Evil 4 Remake Review Ever, Again.

  • Ashley is so much better in this game. For one she looks and acts more like her actual age, 20. Besides that her character and gameplay are just better all around and I was actually kinda missing her in the sections without her. One of the best improvements to a weaker aspect of the original, this remake is so good.

    • How is a 20 year old supposed to act while kidnapped? Or do we forget that she was kidnapped and believe that she was there because she wanted to be

    • I absolutely disagree in terms of gameplay lol shes awful in the remake 😂

    • @ItsOcean Agreed, shes just as bad now as she was back then, but at least back the. you could tell her to sit wherever you wanted, and she actually DID IT.

    • @ThatSamoanGuy Ashley’s way better in the original. It “feels” a bit better in remake because they made her AI almost invincible. In the original her AI was almost perfect for what it was and only people who couldn’t manage her complain. If you’ve done more than a single play through you know she’s extremely easy to work with, while in this one, you don’t even have to worry about her except for scripted events

    • @HotnessGaming calm down I was mainly talking about her presentation she's just a better character. But I still think gameplay wise she's still fine and now there's even some strategy with her like stabbing kidnappers in the back for a quick kill

  • PSA: Don't just skip ahead to where you left off when the video got demonetized and taken down, because the new video won't know that you've already watched those first 4 and a half minutes. Help Marky with the algorithm and watch it again for that sweet sweet retention tracking

  • If you shoot the church bell in the opening village/chainsaw sequence you can trigger the bell cutscene immediately and end the sequence. Really excited to find out what other emergent gameplay things can be done.

  • You really said the knife in RE4 is useless, dafaq? That shit is over powered, get an enemy down and it’s an instant kill.

    • Yeah that sounded like a scrub take for me, you don't even need a gun to kill most ganados

    • For real, the blocking looks great but the knife in the original RE4 was indestructible, you could honestly kill most of the town with just the knife, except for the chainsaw guy of course.

    • @Mateo Cordova you can btw, Dr Salvador was easy as fuck, you just needed to learn how to dodge his one very slow attack and he was toast

    • Yeah, that had me do a double-take, too. Kneecapping a ganado, kicking them to the ground, and then wiggling my knife at them was how I killed like 60% of the dudes in the original RE4.

    • Agreed, knife is ridiculous in the OG, only people who didn’t learn to use it would say it’s bad.

  • Cosmonaut spoke with such love about this game, that I just had to watch the video again, so freaking cute see him talk about something he actually likes

  • I have not been able to stop listening to Krauser and Salazar's boss themes since my first playthrough. The composer seriously popped off.

  • My favorite new bit of lore is the blue flame. After you use it as Ashley, you realize that's how the merchant gets around unharmed.

  • "the knife is useless in the original" lmao it's the best weapon in the game if you know how to use it

  • Even after I've beaten the game through twice now, I just can't stop thinking about it. I don't think I've been this in love with a game in almost 20 years.

  • I started playing the original and I had the exact same thoughts. “Why can’t I move and shoot” but now I know how it works and I love it

    • i think it was actually a decision to make it like that. people back then knew about gaming mechanics and frame data, these new millenial developers just care about the glossier graphic effect they can make and it fucking sucks

  • The fact that you finished the video with the RE4 theme song and not the usual fighting game tune made me smile 😊❤️

  • Personally, I think Leon knows Spanish in the OG game. How else was he reading those documents where some were obviously the villains' private diaries or confidential information? He deliberately kept that skill a secret so that they'd let their guards down and leave such info lying around

  • I would totally watch a Resident Evil retrospective video if you decide to make one. Love the series.

  • The Krauser fight was soooooo good and the added backstory made me feel for him.

  • Never really played the first RE4 as a kid as my parents were mega-scared of their kids playing "evil" horror games. Just finished Remake for the first time and I can wholeheartedly say it is basically the best action horror game I've EVER played! Awesome story! Amazing gameplay! The pacing between the highly intense moments and the casual exploring/treasure hunting was honestly perfect for me. I loved every single minute of this game's playthrough and have no doubt that I'm gonna dive right back in very soon!

  • RE4 is my 2nd favorite game of all time. When I played it in 2005 I was a kid and haven’t fully learned English yet so I had to imagined everything that they were saying in the game since back in the day there wasn’t language selection. And boy now that I’ve come back to play it fully understanding everything, I gotta say. It’s waaaaay cheesier than I imagined 😂

  • Low-key, I want Marcus to review the sopranos

    • Sopranos is having another spike in popularity like Breaking Bad did in 2021. .

    • Gabagool!

    • @Aexcezz best thing to come out of the admittedly mid movie. It did make me a fan tho🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @Jerome McDanger whoever invented that shit definitely had the makings of a varsity athlete

    • @Aexcezz nah the breaking bad spike started in 2019 with el camino

  • as someone who only got into resi with 7 & 8, these remakes have made the earlier entries- specifically, 2 and 4- soo much more accessible

  • It was almost eerie how almost all my thoughts about this, right down to that feeling of listening to that remix for the 1st time during the shooting game and just falling in love. The point finally hitting that the remake loves the original just as much as I do, blowing all my reservations away. Literally, everything you said man, those were the exact things that I felt. P.S This literally made me instantly subscribe to you.

    • can you explain to me what makes you say the remakes loves the og? what leads you to that conclusion if all the charming characters are different from the original, is it just the brighter graphics or the generic AAA gameplay mechanics?

  • One thing I really appreciate about this game is how it doesn’t actually invalidate the original game, I’ve heard many lament the loss of certain set pieces and while I do sympathise on some I think it’s cool that they chose to do things not exactly the same, when re4’s original version is available on virtually any platform and will seemingly continue to be until the End of time it makes it nice that we have 2 versions of the game which both take their own directions in certain areas to give two worthwhile experiences

    • ure not wrong, the remake has made me appreciate the old game, whats bothering most OG fans is how the hype train tries to invalidate the OG game, the remake is a good AAA game no doubt, but it lacks the soul of the original which is what some people wanted, i know many didnt even play re4 in order to wait for the remake and now are here to defend their 60 dollar spend without even having experienced the original game and will just say its bad or that the remake is the actual masterpiece because they cant ge their head around 2004 controllers which btw are much better than the clunky movement leon has in the remake except for the parry (i guess) anyway im not gonna buy this bullshit remake which slaughtered all the characters that made the original re4 so charming.

  • It’s funny that you mention the “every game needs a grappling hook” rule, because this game might even have that too in the inevitable Separate Ways DLC

  • I'm pretty sure after RE7 Capcom developed a serious addiction to critical praise. Just about everything they've put out since then has either been good or fantastic. Having recently been converted to being a Dragon's Dogma fan I'm unbelievably excited to see that sequel in the next couple years. A new Dragon's Dogma made in the RE Engine with this current Capcom? Sounds phenomenal.

  • the knife is actually useful in the original fight with krauser. he goes down much faster in every fight with him when you use the knife instead of guns

  • You showed me something new today. I didn't know that, in the Mendes fight, you can activate the prompt to stab his weak point from the top level, and change the animation to a jumping stab. I'm willing to bet it does more damage from up there, too.

  • It makes me really happy to see things like this. I love people loving things!

  • This is great to hear because the way 3 got treated after the masterpiece that was 2, I was really worried about 4 lol

  • The first four RE games are just so much damn fun. I'm a huge fan of George Romero's Dead series, so those games take escapism to a whole other level for me.

    • Spacemaker

  • its funny because i feel like you can easily get used to how the original controls after like.. 10 minutes. Thats how long it took me then i had a blast playing it, still holds up imo

    • It’s a nice in between the OG tank controls and the (eventual) third person controls. You could say, RE4 walked so Third Person Shooters could run

  • I'm glad you liked it! I'm personally skeptical of remakes but it's nice to see some not overdoing it or ruining the original feel.

  • I was gonna wait until this went down in price a bit because I've beaten RE4 OG like 100 times but after watching this I will be buying it immediately. Thank you for this!

  • when you said 'it's a good time to love resident evil, that made me so happy i love this franchise with my heart and makes me smile the love is receiving lately

  • They actually do have a QTE in the Del Lago fight if you don’t hit him with a harpoon before he tries to devour your boat, Leon will stab him in the mouth with a harpoon, and it’s pretty sick.

  • The resident evil franchise has seriously been on fire recently🔥 is it safe to call it one of the most consistent franchises out there?

  • I CANNOT stop playing this game either. Doing my last professional run to get the platinum now and its been one of the best gaming experiences in a long time ❤

  • I love the music in this game mainly because it’s the old music but more epic.Ramon’s is a waltz(dont know if that is the right word).Krausers theme is amazing because of how epic it is and theirs slight sorrow in the song which makes sense.

  • I haven't even played a single RE game in my life, but after watching so many playthroughs of the Biohazard, Village, the remakes of the classics, and now one gets a PERFECT 10/10 from Marcus? Yeah, i think it's time i dove head first into this series

  • The knife was not useless in the original. I swore by this anytime I knocked enemies down.

  • The remake making it clear that Saddler is actually controlling anyone with the Las Plagas in them make so much sense.

  • This game was so dope when I first played it…classic

  • I went in with a completey negative mindset after the demo and was still blown away so far.

  • This game has a lot of attention to detail, I played the original at least once or twice a year, and I’m happy this game and also the OG, will keep my tradition going

  • I am even more excited now. Never played RE4 because it's that old but when I play the RE2 remake my mind was set on RE4 and now it's here and I will play this game to the bone.

  • Happy to see Cosmo happily gushing about this game, again 🙂

  • Replayed the original so much it's crazy and practically memorized the map. Played the new game and yes it's worth buying 100% was so taken aback to how beautiful an scary everything was. How so many things were changed and yet the same. What they did with Leon and Ashley and the rest of the character the fact we Louis can fight with us more then just that house part

  • Hard agree. The whole time I was playing through this game I just kept thinking about what a perfect remake it is. Absolutely nails everything you could possibly want a remake to have.

  • For me personally, the music in the original RE4 is good. They used a lot of stock sound effects but you can tell the people who made the songs were creative and were doing their best with what they had. I can cleanly hear a lot of the tunes of the original in my head, they're quite memorable to me.

  • This is a great game, I'm on my 5th run now and pretty much unlocked everything I want and I still can't put it down. I can't believe it's true but I actually love it more than the original

  • amazing and considerate of you to create a vod channel! you seem like a chill streamer!!

  • This game and the Dead Space remake is exactly how a remake of a game should be fun engaging, fixing problems enhancing the game play but also keeping the story the same but also adding the new things and expanding upon what's already there

  • Thank you CAPCOM for giving us this absolute gem, 10/10 experience 💕

  • It’s the first game I’ve put a huge amount of hours into in years definitely one the best on the market at the moment

  • It's such a perfect remake. Like I didn't really know what exactly to expect when they announced it and I was blown away playing it. It's one of the most fun I've had in a single player game ever.

  • This and the Dead Space remake somehow surpassing the originals makes me so happy as a horror game fan. Been a good year for gaming already

  • I snorted out loud when he said the game makes you feel like a real resident evil

  • 6:25 I was screaming , Marcus just absolutely being a unit, that was tight af

  • I’m glad more than just myself are feeling this way about this gem 💎 of a game 🎉!!

  • That part with the ganados with the dynamite in the same room with the regeneradores had me screaming with you. Keep up the good work 😂😂😂

  • I'm fairly new to the RE franchise and I can confidently say this game is a masterpiece

  • I'm glad I was there for the streams they were fire

  • I also really like the intro to the game I can’t get over how cool that whole cutscene was.

  • Straight up just finished my second play through and started my third, it’s so good!

  • I'm so glad that the remake turned out to be just as much of a banger as the original was. We really do need more games like this today.

  • Thank you for the spoiler free review. I'm still midway of the game, and I can't stop thinking about this game when I'm not playing it. It just so good, and I just start my RE journey from last year even tho I know about this series almost my entire life. You are very right about starting with RE2, because thats what I did, and I'm hooked to this series. Since then, I have played 1, 3, 7, 8 and of course 4. I hope more people awakened to how good this game series is.

  • 2 things this game needs in my opinion to give it PERFECT gameplay. A push/shove button and a dedicated dodge button. Too many times, especially in the narrower sections, you awkwardly are running into enemies to get them and it feels clunky. So a shove button woulda been great. Also, a dodge button because at times Leon just moves too slow to evade dynamite or enemy lunges. They could both be tied to a stamina meter or something so it’s not over used. These are minor nitpicks but I think they woulda made the gameplay feel even better.

  • I'll watch cosmonaut a thousand times before I let this channel die! Demonitization won't stop me!

  • Couldn't get over how beautiful some of the areas looked. And the stealth options??❤❤ Definitely worth the money and I can't wait to see what mercenaries is like. Re5 remake would be lit too

  • "This game makes you feel like an Evil Resident" As someone who never played the original, that alone sold me to the idea of giving this a try.

  • This game really makes you FEEL like Leon 🎉

  • I knew this remake was something special when I reached the village swarm segment… and promptly got killed by a chicken. Like, I guess I moved in just such a way as to anger this random chicken, and it charged me… it didn’t hurt, but it did force me into a recovery animation. The Dr. Salvador behind me really appreciated the assistance.

  • I never got into Resident Evil and I decided to finally try it out with this one. I can see now why it is so popular. I thought the slow gameplay would be boring, it is not boring lmao, it is not even close to boring. I haven't been wired to a screen like that in a long time. Don't want to put it down

  • Ah.. my daily fix of Cosmo

  • It’s never been a better time to be a resident evil fan!!!

  • This game is fun as hell, but it's also hard as hell. Chapter 10-14 is brutal.

  • Love the video and absolutely agree, but I gotta say, the knife in the original game is actually really useful. Kicking anyone down or shooting them to trip them and then saving ammo by quickly knifing them to death.

  • I've always been a big fan of the RE franchise because of it's super long and complex story/timeline but I've never actually played any of the games before. I decided to finally play one so I bought this game at launch. Easily the best game I've played this year so far. I hope we get a remake of the original RE (again) and maybe even Zero because the Arklay mountain incident is my favorite part of the timeline.

  • The man isbt even getting paid, and did a better job selling me on the game than any sponsored stream ive seen in years

  • The fact that we got this and dead space remake in the same year is just wonderful

  • You did NOT just say the knife in Resident Evil 4 is useless..

    • Knifing downed enemies saves you tons of bullets How TF is that useless?

    • @HeavySandvichGuy1 you don't need to save ammo tho they give you plenty and even then it takes forever to kill them with the knife in the og, in the remake the parry alone makes the original knife lame af

    • @Hypersense 1602 nah, in early game, especially on Pro, it’s smarter to knife the enemies or let them use dynamite on each other. It’s best to save pesatas to get the Striker and forget about the thermal scope cause you can easily knife the Regenerators and Iron Maidens. Krauser boss fight is also easier with the knife.

    • @Hypersense 1602 It’s best to stop knifing enemies in the Castle cause the Zealots have more health

  • I watched your streams of this game and had a lot of fun, stream more please Marcus

  • I love this remake, it’s in my top 5 favourite games of all time… almost everything is improved for me, specially Ashley, the combat, exploration and tone. but there 4 things really bogged me(contain spoilers).4. Luis didn’t felt like a friend like in the first one. Still liked him but didn’t felt nothing when he died. 3. The fact that two S+ trophies don’t stack. I don’t see any reason to make like that. Just give one trophy for the S+ hardcore. 2. Saddler really didn’t felt like the main villain in this one and Leon hardly interacted with him. 1. Why the hell did they cut U3 out?! The Island was awesome but U3 was sorely missed

  • The idea that this game feels exactly how it felt back then is just amazing. We always talk about how remakes or remasters make games look exactly how you remember them looking, but this is also updating gameplay while keeping its essence. Making it feel as smooth, dynamic and fun as it was back then.. except today it isn't at least 2 of those 3 things, because the gameplay feels quite dated (it's still really fun though). I really love what this remake did. The demo was enough to sell me on it. The village felt pretty much the same as it felt all the way back when I was a kid coming back from school and turning on my PS2 to cowardly get through the intro sequence once again.

  • I'm ashamed to admit I'm one of those people who didn't played original because it's ''too old'', but in my defence I know that feel you had, because I also have old games I would love more people to play so when I went into this remake it was premiere for me and I must say... THIS GAME IS SO FUCKING GOOD HOLY SHIT I LOVE IT It's easily top5 game for me all time, I love love love this game I really hope Capcom do Resident evil 9 and gonna go with this gameplay, this gameplay loop is so much fucking fun I love it, I need it more Much love Marcus, I already seen first upload but I'm watching it again for you :) Keep up good work

  • I just wanna say that it's wild that my two favorite games of all time, Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4, both got a remaster and a remake released within like a month of each other.

  • It was so entertaining watching this stream
