Not during low speed impacts, low speeds impacts is critical that you want the least damage done, crumple zones is good with high speed impacts so bmw is better
@Faris It's for passiv savety like the pedestrians or bikers. The Hood is not built for passinger Savety on purpose. The most accidents over 50 miles with a BMW, the BMW cracks in two halves because they youse wood glue on the production process.

Meanwhile the BMW is extremely solid which is very bad as it doesn’t absorb the impact, instead it just stops immediately compared to the Mercedes which slowed down, because of this the passenger or driver of the BMW would feel much more force and would be much more likely to be injured than the Mercedes driver or passenger.
