Tobi, As a Habs/NHL Fan, I appreciate you for taking the time to react to the sport. I remember that hit at 6:00 against Winnipeg. Mark Scheifele was suspended for four matches. MTL eventually swept them in 4, defeat Vegas in 6, but lost the cup final against Tampa in 5. Evans played in the final.
For real! I've been wanting them to react to our sport for so long now, love seeing them checking out NHL moments, even someone big like Tobi watching nhl clips on his twitch is big for our sport haha
Canada is probably the best country I've ever visited, if I go again, 100% going to an NHL game. Probably Kelowna, my uncle lives there

Okay so they give penalties instead of cards where you sit either for 2 mins or 5 depending on the seriousness. Offside is the blue line, the puck must cross the line before the player does. Recently the physicality has been getting toned down but it's still there during the playoffs (knock outs). The physicality is great but the goals are great too, the sport is one of the hardest in the world to play there's some amazing videos like hockey is beautiful you can check out. Brendan Shanahan (former nhl player) gave an amazing quote about it when asked "is hockey hard". The hype moments during the playoffs especially an overtime winner is unmatched, straight chills especially with Doc Emm commentating

I am so glad to see you reacting to NHL. I feel like it doesn't get the recognition it deserves, and you should definitely do part two. I think you guys should also do this on Sidemen Reacts. Also I think you would enjoy watching a best NHL goals compilation. Some of the goals are absolutely ridiculous.

As a hockey player this is a mid video there’s so many other great hits but either way r love that you are reacting you hockey because you can always react to some skill hockey moments, fights, and there’s way more hits that are bigger and better

After watching the reaction... Tobi 90% of those hits were fairly legal Finally a sport I grew up playing! Never thought I'd see this day!!! Even tho I played Sledge Hockey still intense. He should react to those hits... I'm sure it will be crazy for him to see All I say is they gotta keep their heads up lol most of those hits were normal

You should 100% watch more nhl videos, I’d suggest the skill ones. Some of the top players are absolutely insane at what they do best. Alex Ovechkin, Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, Auston Matthews, Pavel Datsyuk all great players to watch.
More NHL videos!! Maybe react to certain players but you definitely have to do a biggest hit one on the sidemen reacts channel. As a viewer from Canada I love hockey with my whole heart and to see it spread so far and you react to it makes me want more of it.

As an avid hockey fan… most of these hits are legal. However it’s illegal if the initial contact happens at the neck or head. Or tripping their feet. That results in a penalty/power play Love your reactions man, would love to see more hockey reacts!
Hi Tobi! Sick content! Basically the rules applying to body checks/hits are the following; you can't hit with the stick horizontally (cross check, look it up if you want), you can't directly hit the opps with your elbow or your knee, you can't make a direct hit to the head and you can only hit the opp with the puck or that has just released the puck!

That is not part of the goalies game. He plays the puck. Sometimes a team’s forwards will try to obscure the goalie from seeing the puck, and that forward will occasionally get a chop just above the ankle on the back of the leg. (Where there isn’t any padding). As a goalie your team is protecting you, but if there’s a brawl you might see the goalies square off
As a Canadian Tobi's reactions were hilarious to watch these hits happen most games so I'm used to it, I'm also a big football fan so when I see Bruno Fernandes crying because he got touched by a fly I get pissed thinking of how they get up after a huge hit in hockey.
Tobi, you guys have to do these on sidemen reacts too, not to mention the line brawls that happen. There's a reason Canadians love this sport so much
As a longtime fan from Canada this is so sick! For the record, a lot of the huge, old school hits in this video would be illegal in today's league, and would result in suspensions.

Ice hockey is severely underrated. I think most football fans would like it. Even as a Canadian I liked football way before I liked hockey, but once I gave it a chance I saw the similarities I enjoyed it and now I always watch it

You have to do one of these for sidemen reacts! NHL content is a rich vein of content best hits, goals, saves etc.
For those wondering: Body checking (hitting) is completely normal and allowed part of Ice hockey. As long as the hit is targeted to the body of the opponent, the refs won't react unless the player is clearly hurt. If the hit is too high (head/face), too low (below hips), straight from the behind or with too much speed (charging), then the hit will result in a penalty or worst case scenario a game missconduct (match penalty). Sometimes the worst hits/plays will result in a suspension decided by the league some time after the game.
finally i have been waiting for one of the sidemen to react to nhl hits i rlly didn't care if it was on sidemen reacts or an individual channel from one of the sidemen in the future i hope that they will do a sidemen reacts on nhl hits

Tobi love seeing your react to my fav sport of hockey. The one at 8:32 that you think he swings his stick he doesn’t instead he is swinging both arms right and then left leading with his left shoulder into the player. It just looks that way because he has both hands on the stick

Love hockey content. Also 10:23 is legendary, Krug (on Boston Bruins) got punched in the back of the head when the refs weren’t looking and his helmet came off and with no helmet on he chased the guy down and laid him out

Alot of these crazy hits are from awhile back, bunch of rules have changed and there is much less of these concussion causing hits. Teams even used to have designated players to fight/hit as their sole objective on the team

If you wondered there is a lot of regulation like for an example you can get a 2 min pen to suspensions on the impact of hit. For the younger players it doesn’t start to hit until your are 14-15
5:33 is probably one of the greatest moments in sporting history, Scott Stevens rocks Paul Kariya and then Paul comes back to play the rest of the game minutes after looking like a lifeless body and just to make it better Paul proceeds to score a goal making the game 4-1 and Gary Thorne says one the greatest commentary calls every “Off the floor, on the board, Paul Kariya”

As somone who has played hockey scince I was a kid,the sport is brutal and have lots of hits like these even at the high school level.many many head injuries through my career

Keep in mind that some of these hits are very illegal. Players are not allowed to leave the ice while going for a hit or some of these are head contact which is illegal. They are either punished with a 4:00 or a 5:00 penalty and even sometimes a suspension.

I think the reason sometimes it turns into brawls and sometimes it doesn’t is bc the guys fighting get penalized so it would just hurt the team more if there out
I'm glad the Scott Stevens on Paul Kariya hit was included. Wish they showed Kariya fogging up his visor after he started breathing again. Brutal hit that was kind of legal at the time; would be at least a 5-game suspension now. I remember seeing it live as a happy young NJ Devils fan, hoping for that Stanley Cup win!

And the high stick around 9:05 I believe is a penalty (think like a temporary red card, where the other team loses a member for 2 or 5 minutes)
What tobi doesn’t know is that the reason some of them turn to scraps and some don’t, is it depends on who is being hit. If a star player is hit is a full out war, but if it’s an irrelevant guy then they just continue play

also elbowing is illegal, but shoulder or hip hits are fine, even taught and encouraged when learning the game. Hits become allowed at about age 13-14.

Also, I BELIEVE the clip where you thought he swung the stick at his head, he just slides in and heavy shoulder/elbows him from a weird angle. Debatably legal the way it looked, but I dont think he swung the stick at him xD

As a person who plays and watches hockey to see some one who hasn’t is pure comedy
Rules of hitting: you aren’t allowed to hit from behind that will either be a 2 minute penalty or 5 minute depending on how dangerous it was. For all hits you hit with the shoulder and the head should not be the primary point of contact. All the fights that breakout are dependent on how bad their teammates think the hit was (dangerous or illegal).

70% of NHL players are Canadian. We are taught young to endure pain playing hockey at at a young age. NHL players can skate up to 40 km/h. These guys are huge

Nice to see some hockey as a Canadian, look up big buff moments, but some players will get penalties for their hits depending on the hit, or they will get hammered by the other teams players backing their guy up and a big fight will break out
I’m a FL panthers fan and we see slams to the barrier pretty often, player to player hits not so much, but they can be extremely painful , pls react to more NHL 🫶🏻
