  • it's cool but Mia Khalifa is better

  • When pulling the phone books, why aren’t the 4x4’s in 4WD?…

  • I seen this in person 2018, but didn't want to spend $100 for a trip to the top.

  • 5:17 I believe that demonstration was included in presentation for investors

  • This is where it gets fun because I have a gun 😂😂😂 7:42

  • Richard Hammond!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Let's talk about the Burj kalifa, and we go in a boat, drive a buggy, go to the children's playground aah yes, something with cardboard boxes. Look I'm a scientist, derp face

  • start swinging when you gotta explain the structure of the world' tallest building

  • The interesting thing now here is that the duration of this video is same as that of its views. COINCIDENCE

  • Love it

  • Is that music from wcc3

  • And Worlds tallest building doesn't have Sewage system in morning you will see line of big poop truck line on road ...

  • Base is the same as CN Tower

  • I'm a simple man, I voted to get back control and I appreciated the examples with the phone books and the swings.

  • Outstanding video. Well done.

  • Stack about approximately 14 Burj Khalifa on top of each other to get an image of how deep the ocean floor is around the Mariana trench!!!

  • hmm. It'll be fun if he did a show about cars...

  • Wow, Physics is Incredible & beautiful! I don't think It could be explained any better!

  • is the reason he kept crashing was cus he was too short to reach the brake peddle?

  • this guy has made a BIG career out of being SMALL

  • Held only by friction, but there is tape around it?

  • "...and when we could still... think." Yeah that sums it up right

  • The foolish man built his house on the sand. The wise man also built his house on the sand, but included 194 underground concrete shafts.

  • Its great to see what Hugh jackman does in his free time

  • And goodbye or not goodbye!

  • I'm from Argentina

  • I hate that guy becasue they are racist with us!

  • what music is this

  • One Word. Incredible

  • No longer the biggest fountain, the building yes, but the fountain is but a quarter of the Unirii Fountains

  • We loved it in #dubai 🇦🇪 what an amazing experience #burjkhalifatower and the #burjalarab 👍😎

  • garbage!

  • The Burj Khalifa base plan was actually conceived from a structural idea that was earlier designed and built by Adrian Smith (formerly of architects SOM) which was Samsung Tower Palace III finished in 2004. The idea was to utilized a tri-wing buttress floor plan which at the time offered more lateral stability and thus a reduced floor and column structural thicknesses. The Khalifa achieves its height by stepping back its floor plate every 30 levels and reducing the vertical circulation core. Oh and plus the 100 or so bore piles that extend down to bedrock. That also helps too. Lol.

  • Fast 10 ought to be filmed in Dubai.

  • That's awesome. Now it's time to watch MI: Ghost Protocol.

  • Wow what an amazing experiment, had no idea friction was such a powerful force!

  • Fun fact: It's not even connected to a sewage line, a line of trucks have to come in every day and clear the waist from the tower. Horrific design, wonderful engineering

  • It should be one hour and 9 minutes!

  • I just learned this building doesn't have a sewer system and there is a mile long poop truck that comes daily to take the shit away..

  • Mama Mia it’s the Burj Khalifa

  • i cant watch anything about dubai without thinking about all the slave labour that is going on AS WE SPEAK. literal SLAVERY. you cant NOT mention that.

  • 4:55 books looked taped together with clear packing tape....

  • Smallest man in the world going to the tallest tower in the world.

  • 6:33 it looks a bit bent, doesn't it?

  • I would not want to ride shotgun with this Richard guy

  • Doesnt even have a sewerage system. Terrible building.

  • Was I the only one who realised that there were tale also connecting the books when they were being pulled. The tape was placed in the middle

  • Like this men

  • TO SHOW YOU THE POWER OF FRICTION, I SAWED THIS BOAT IN HALF!!!

  • ok boomer

  • No it doesn’t fall over. Just catches fire every couple years.

  • How big are the shit tanks? Cuz you know, it was built without sewer access....

  • That's one expensive antenna for One World Trade Center to have costed 3 billion dollars

  • boycott dubai. disgusting soulless country built on the back of slaves

  • fibinnocci sequence shape

  • Very cool! Learned something new today. Thanks Richard. 👍

  • When he was actually trying, It looks as if he doesn’t know how to swing on a swing that well….

  • Amazing.2 books holding each other with so much power

  • I love Richard Hammond he is right man of Jeremy clarksson the gods of man in Britain Both Richard Hammond and Jeremy clarksson represents male gender masculine identity motor very interesting friction force engineers

  • Genius

  • wow.. nice example..

  • I once went more than half way up, still building. Do you notice how many none Bedouins!! Or Arabs...are doing the Engineering, clever stuff. The Pyramids...The Spinx? Makes you think!

  • The video title is silly. The title can be applied to any very high skyscrapers. Moreover, this tower is fat on the bottom and tapers off as it goes up, so anyone knows this makes it more stable. It's not a big deal or a major engineering achievement.

  • The irony of building the tallest building where they are clean and wash rather than use paper so it has over 4000 bidets and yet the city doesn't have a sewerage system so they empty it with poop trucks, that is one messed up dirty city.

  • 4:13 "Now we're going to take the 2 interleaved phone books that Bill and I made, and then we'll take them as far apart as they will go..."

  • They don't have earthquakes there so it's "safe." However, one earthquake and that sand turns to water, friction is all but removed and the tower will shift.

  • Hammond needs to bring back Braniac, im need a refresher on which fruit floats or sinks, that lady with the lovely basket fruit was a great teacher

  • As a person who have lived in Dubai for half of my life, let me tell you this is just 20% of Dubai, the rest is poor people that are worked as $ laves

    • You criticize it after living happily there for half of ur life

  • For this guy and his team to build the tallest and most luxurious building with a 7 star hotel inside his bank account must be 7 stars aswel the man literally outsmart mother nature with his design

  • 4:58 there is deffinatly not tape around the books 😉😉🤫

  • It doesn't fall for the same reason a 1 story building doesn't fall.

  • They have daily poop trucks to empty the Khalifa...it aint connected to the sewage💩

  • However they did not install a disposable sewage system ! All the 'Scooby Doo' has to be pumped away on a daily basis! A few hundred road tankers kept busy! Taking away yesterdays meals!

  • Got everything except the working sewage system all human excrement has to be carried out with a ton of trucks everyday.

  • Okay... THAT was fascinating.

  • Is that the sound of Poo poo trucks I hear?

  • They should make a video of that buildings sewer system...oh wait, there isn't one. Smh *fail*

    • there is a sewage for the tower !! I don't know how u guys watch a video a believe it, I am an engineer in Dubai I have been the the sewage before for the tower !

  • BurK Khalifa doesnt even have a sewage system, DUbai is a joke.

    • @Jack Vale numbers will increase due to the people relying on cars to get around instead of public transport.

    • @Sea Anemone lol its built accounting for a 50cm rise in sea levels. Plus an additional buffer. Lol unless u live here, ir arguments are bs

    • @Jack Vale you're not making any sense. Have you ever heard of rising sea levels? That is proof the islands were a mistake.

    • @Sea Anemone waste of money lol? Oh yes, another person who hasn't been here and making elaborate theories lol

    • @Jack Vale that'll mean nothing if those islands start to sink. Dubai has no way of counteracting it. Talk about a waste of money.

  • Shit Fact : The Burj Khalifa doesn't have a working sewage system. It needs hundreds of 'Poop Trucks' to remove all the sewage accumulated in the skyscraper.

  • FISIKS BE LIKE TEARING BOOKS AND SWINGING

  • How did the books use friction?

  • The world biggest unescesary display of opulence. Don't like it, give me a fucking lawn and a mango tree.

  • A giant skyscraper like the burj Khalifa need to withstand natural forces

  • All i can say is wow!

  • lol I thought the same thing when you pulled out the phone books

  • Science is amazing , physics is beautiful ♥♥♥

  • I would love to see Bill’s pay cheque for this job.

  • ...and when we could still.. ..think

  • I love the boots😂

  • Perfecto

  • We would like to see a new shipping wars .

  • I wonder if this is anything like music (I no nothing about physics) but maybe could figure out the frequency for each vortex and probably have to divide it or do some kind of math to figure out what kind of chord on a keyboard it would make. I’d be really curious to know what that sounds like lmao

  • FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT ΤΗΕ ΒΕSΤ

  • I went there for work and was very impressed. Cool place to visit.

  • Friction didn't win, it lost.......rear tires and sand had none of it.

  • Richard Hammond's is fat

  • Imagine placing your head directly above those water fountains

  • I’m scared a heights!😩

  • 9:15 what Hammond looks like sitting at the dinner table

  • Yes, in mythbusters they used tanks to actually split the books but it still survived for some time
