  • I feel bad for the actress she literally got casted for being “ugly”

  • What annoyed me the most about this movie is that I looked like Sierra in high school. I was "a teenage girl that looks like this". And I had friends and relationships and a fulfilling life. It is so gross for this movie to assume that being an unattractive teen means you cant have a life. Sierra's problem isnt her looks it's her crippling lack of self esteem and deep entitlement and martyr complex.

    • I don’t entirely agree with your point. Being unattractive as a teen doesn’t mean you can’t have a life, that’s true and it’s great that you didn’t let it get in your way but there are teens out there that make bad experiences due to their looks. Sierra doesn’t fit the beauty standard and a lot of people who don’t feel incredible insecure about it. Whenever movies pick up on such topics I noticed that a lot of people are offended about because they go like “but I was like this and I didn’t have any problems” that’s cool but this movie isn’t about you but the character that struggles with certain traits. I know that a lot of characters say things like: “people like me….” Which is generalisation but I think that’s realistic. When you struggle with something you don’t take into account that other people with the same thing might handle it differently because it’s what you feel right now, Btw, I am not saying that everything Sierra did is okay because she is insecure. It is not and I don’t support her actions in any form or shape. I am just trying to explain that it is okay for her to feel insecure about herself, even if people similar to her don’t and it is okay for the movie to show an insecure character without having to explain that obviously not everyone shares her experiences.

    • @Parise Wellington Well said

    • Thank u!! Exactly!! The most popular people in my school were average looking people with amazing personalities, physical appearance is not that important 🤷‍♀️

    • They could’ve also played with that idea; the bad ending She sucks as a character, and if they made everyone around her realize how bad she was as a person, it could’ve led to a satisfactory ending Many, many people reach the climax, and just think “I don’t want her to win,” and the name of the movie is “Sierra Burgess is a Loser,” so it’s be nice if she didn’t “win” Make her lose; all of her friends drop her, her parents are disappointed in her, people think she’s a weird toxic stalker catfish girl, etc. You could even end it like “In the end, I never got my life back to the way it was. I lost everything, after all. Respect. Friendship. Love. Everyone dropped me, and I lost it all. I hope you weren’t expecting a happy ending. I mean, Sierra Burgess, is a Loser.”

    • @Catherine Mackolil agreed with that

  • One thing I hate about Sierra is that she tries to play the victim the whole time even when she gets called out she goes home and yell at her parents about how ugly she is like GURL Also kinda disappointed Dylan didn't know who Loretta Devine was (southern accent lady)

  • Sierra: I’m a stakler, catfisher and a liar. Dude: You’re EXACTLY my type.

    • 🤣

    • 1. LMAOO 2. the fact that ur mot even using his name but saying 'dude' lmfaooo bye-

    • @Annabella LeForce that’s disgusting

    • @Molly Gunnarsson where they are on a date and they have Noah centineo kiss Sierra when he thinks he’s actually kissing the other girl

    • @Annabella LeForce she did? in which part of the movie?

  • i love how dylan always finds a 30-year old man who doesn't belong in the movie

    • @sky He is the better man. I just find Damon hotter bec I’m attracted to toxic men. Oh well.💀😌

    • @maeve he is SO much better than damon and he's always compared to him :(

    • @sky same 😫❤️

    • @maeve lmao thank u I love stefan

    • I love your profile pic ;))

  • Here I’ll turn on the reality switch for you guys Ending: Siera gets charged with sexual assault and Jamie gets a restraining order. Veronica apologizes to Jamie and they become good friends. Siera loses all of her friend and doesn’t get accepted into college because of what happened. Everyone els goes to college and pursues their careers while Siera lives with her parents, working in an office job. The end :)

    • "Sierra loses all of her friend " GIRL-😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

    • To be fair is kinda weird that in this ending Veronica gets a happy ending with Jamie, she was an accomplice in catfish AND sexual assault so she just say sorry and everything is good with the guy? If someone helps a person to catfish me I would block them in real life

    • @LiwiaGoszynska you are so off topic thats funny

    • @LiwiaGoszynska No one said that a guy kissing a girl without consent is not a big deal

    • @LiwiaGoszynska what are you on about

  • YO this movie is honest to God SOOO CREEPY! if sierra was a dude this movie would be marketed as a psychological horror movie since they end up together

    • LMAO.

    • @Melina Kenyon oh yeah I saw about this on a game once thank for explaining more stuff

    • Some of you in the replies are doing way too much with these movie references. No, it is not “You”. It’s just some sad teenage girl who uses her looks as pity points to catfish a dude and kiss him without consent. A manipulative character doesn’t always have to equal *every other* manipulative character in *every other* popular film in the same time period.

    • True

  • “To be a teenage girl, and look like this...” As an ugly teenage girl. It’s really not a big deal. Chill girl

    • Not that being confident in yourself and the way you look isn’t important but, most people are interested in a good personality over looks. Are those people teenage boys? No not really. But still, it ain’t that big of a deal

    • Seriously! She's not even ugly 💀

    • To other people it is

    • Exactly

  • She isn’t even ugly she has no excuses.

    • right? she’s not even ugly- she’s a little overweight. weight doesn’t make you any less/more attractive. it’s just people’s attraction to certain people. plus, they cast this actress bc she was “ugly”. if i was cast for this role because of that, it would hurt my self esteem, and that seems like the only way that “ugly” actors (mostly slightly overweight ones) can be a protagonist- if the movies about how ugly they are. really fucking annoying.

    • @Tessa Hope shes not very pretty to me at all. but others might feel different.

    • Being ugly isn't even an excuse itself 🙃

    • fr 😳

    • @Ysnute Zac I genuinely don’t think the actress is ugly at all, but in this movie I think it’s the wardrobe or the added eye bags but she does look not her best

  • Jamie: you manipulated me Sierra: I wrote a song. :D Veronica: you told the whole school my secret and hacked my Instagram Sierra. I. Wrote. A . Song. :D Jamie: You pretended to be deaf. Sierra: I! :D WROTE! :D A! :D SONG! :D Veronica and Jamie: but... Sierra: LOOK AT MY SONG :DDDDD

  • Pro tip: when you’re apologizing, don’t make it about you. “Sorry I suck so bad” isn’t a decent apology. That’s just guilt tripping by being down on yourself, making it about you and not what you did. If the self deprecation bit is genuine because you feel like you’re a sucky person for doing bad things, and you need that to be a part of the apology to express the shame you feel - mention it after taking responsibility and apologizing for the things you actually did wrong. Own up to the consequences of your actions, don’t victimize yourself. “Sorry I was a bad friend, and did those things. I suck” is worlds better, and even that’s half-assed and only just passable.

    • This 100%. If your apology is you being self-deprecating, then it's no apology, you're just vocalising your low self-esteem and that's not what the person you hurt is there to hear. Work on your self-esteem on your own, when you're apologising, acknowledge your mistakes and offer the person you hurt the words they deserve to hear after having been wronged.

    • yessss. that was such an important thing i have learned in my life, not all apologies are the same and equal.

    • @Roboto Origato lmao it really do be like that

    • @Jennifer Garcia apology videos be like *audible sigh* I didn't want to make this video, but I have to address some things or else I'll lose clout. Recently some allegations have come out about me that're totally true, but I'm either going to deny them or say they're true, but offer a million excuses and reasons. I was in a bad place and I'm sorry that you got offended.

    • @Jennifer Garcia* aggressive exhaleing*

  • I was fat and ugly in high school AND I was in orchestra. I dated two guys that were physically waaaayyy more attractive than me. The difference is I had a personality and I went to therapy that also addressed my low self esteem. If she tells her parents that she hates the way she looks and that it's impeding her happiness they should send her to therapy. That's a big deal. This is really damaging to girls who look like Sierra. We have fun, too.

    • @lmo Girl some people are ugly, average, and attractive. Everybody falls into a tier. Accept where you fall and move on.

    • @Chunni I think they have a savior complex lmao

    • @Chunni they’ve been leaving weird fucking comments

    • Chunni right! I hate when ppl do that. We all know what “ugly” looks like in high school and the girl was not looking for validation in her comment so I don’t know why she responded the way she did lmao

  • How do Veronica and her friends think Jamie is a loser? He's the quarterback of the football team...

    • It was more to do with that she was already dating someone and to keep her big boss status with her friends she just said that he was lame just so they didn’t look down on her (I guess, at least that’s what I assume), she could just not find his attractive during that one interaction because she thought he thought that she was just a bang-able chick only and she wanted someone who liked her not just her looks.

    • @Jonathan Gordon A decent quarterback wouldn't be distracted while calling plays. Any college scout would give him a bad report.

    • & all of his other talents & prospects. hes probably a gemini honestly

  • I was talking to a friend who wasn't understanding why I thought this movie was disgusting. She thought it was cute... I just said "Ok- switch the genders." "Oh". Yeah. Nothing about this movie is ok... I was actively rooting against SB the entire time.

    • I dont understand how people can think this movie is "romantic" this is NOT a romance at all wtf....and peoplz that think the inverse must be young, and thats even scarier

    • Yea, Imagine a chunky guy with his quarterback best friend catfishing a veronica. That awful kiss scene but it's a reddit moderator kissing, ew no thanks.

    • It's kinda frustrating how the obvious is not seen unless those magic words are uttered we overlook this aspect so much and let it pass unchecked most of the time because she's a 'girl' and 'how mich damage can a girl do' because evidently a lot of damage and wreckage can come from one seemingly innocuous girl it's not okay!

  • imagine if sierra was a guy. this would literally be a creepy thriller movie, not marketed as a high school love story. she literally sexually assaulted jamie and posted very private things about veronica and was forgiven because she’s not “thin” and she wrote a song.

  • Sierra is not even ugly. She’s pretty in a normal, girl-next-door way. The whole drama of her being “ugly” because she’s just a little overweight is ridiculous and not buyable at all.

    • @PKninjas except she is a highscooler, so she's probably healthy, even if her body constitution is bigger than the rest of the girls (Don't know about it in the US but where I'm from pretty much everyone that's still in school and has PE is healthy, I was one. And I always thought I was fat, I was healthy, just didnt look like most girls, but I still tortured myself about it yeah. You usually can't tell if someone is healthy or not just by looking at their physique.

    • weight can contribute to facial beauty a lot. she could probaby be pretty if she was healthy.

    • @Mich Aguiluz please tell me your joking. Obviously the actor has to look that way for the the role. We're talking about how the character looks within the movie.

    • @Kye Dysarthria you do realise that wardrobe, makeup, and the director made the decision to make hee look that way for the role, right?

    • @Katatat her hair, clothes, even simple things like rembering to wipe the toothpaste off her face. When I say she's ugly, I'm not talking about physical deformities, but rather just how generally not taking care of herself.

  • I agree that the ending should’ve been her single and made up with her friends. I just feel like they glossed over the problem of catfishing and kissing him without consent. It’s just too much.

    • @Monk Killedababy I hope so. The gender war nonsense needs to end

    • CanisLupus1987 Times are changing and hopefully we can see that sexually manipulating someone - man or woman - is just indicative of a bad person. A gross person with no boundaries.

    • @Monk Killedababy I hate how SJWs go against men for consensual sex they later regret... But when women do wrong things to men it is OK.

    • Monk Killedababy p

  • The ONE thing that just made me so angry was how entitled Sierra was. I can’t shake that the girl who has been so mistreated/misunderstood has such a superiority complex.

  • i love how dylan's getting more mad at the football inaccuracies than how shitty the movie is lmao 💀

  • I mean I get Veronica’s reaction when the “dumped over DM” picture gets exposed because it’s something she confided in Sierra which shows the bond they have, and Sierra breaks her trust. But the rest of the school’s reaction is just utter bs

  • Dylan's idea of killing Veronica so Sierra can use her dead body to trick Noah makes a more interesting plotline than what this movies actually plot is...

    • @kooghii vote to correct the script to this plot line! Lol 😂

    • YES and the twist from a highschool love story to a horror film would be so good

  • this movie was HOT garbage. "Catfishing is okay, you'll get the boy in the end"

    • @ur mom lovesme when? I don’t remember that from the movue

    • actually the plot is taken from a classical piece of french literature called 'cyrano de bergerac' which basically does the same thing. Most movies also keep the original names of cyrano, chris, and roxanne pretty similar. once you know the trope you cant unsee it lol. in the original though, both chris and cyrano die.... so... take that how you will.

    • You really won’t if he thinks your someone else 😬

    • I was thinking the same...it's showing that catfishing is okay and that it's not a big deal. Which is not true

    • @Enakshi Nandi yes. Omg i could not watch awymore. I havent even seen the movie, but since he showed that, i freaking hate it. Why would she do that?

  • "Why would people abandon her when she's the victim of a guy being an asshole" Welcome to real life Dylan

    • @Daniela Albergaria oh god that’s disgusting and shitty. sorry to hear that, glad you finally left, tho

    • @Kae highscool is rough for some, this kind of thing would happen in mine and no one would doubt it, everyone just went along, sort of a mob mentality kinda thing. Disgusting obviously and I'm glad I left that environment already

    • I don't think it usually happens irl, the guy that dumped someone is the one that would look bad lol

  • I've never hated a protagonist so much. 🤦‍♀️

  • Sierra doesn’t apologise properly like yes she does but then blame her insecurities like “ I’m sorry I kissed you without your consent but I’m ugly.”

  • 8:45 COMPLETELY relate. The first convo I had with my boyfriend after we first started dating was me asking if he thought goldfish had teeth. I then excused myself to go to the bathroom and proceeded to scream. A woman literally pounded on my stall door and asked me if I was in trouble. 2 years later and this man is still with me :')) What a saint.

  • 1. Catfished him by talking to him without correcting him about who she is 2. Got the girl he thinks she is to fake webcam with him 3. PRETENDED TO BE DEAF and faked sign language 4. Convinced the other girl to go on a date with him, then followed them everywhere and listened in so she could feel like she was on the date too? 5. SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HIM by switching with the other girl and kissing him while his eyes were closed 6. Ignores/bails on her one real friend 7. Gets pissed off when the other girl kisses the guy, even though SHE SET IT UP FOR THEM TO BE FAKE-REAL DATING 8. Decides to get revenge on this other girl she's supposedly been friends with by being nasty and publicly humiliating her, doing so by interrupting the football game and ruining it for not only the guy she likes but also everyone else there in general 9. Loses everyone because of her own actions, so she sobs about how she's the victim here because HER life is so hard because she's not thin. I get that societal beauty standards send the message that like you're ugly/unworthy if you don't look a certain way, I do, but nothing that happened happened because of the way she looks. Everything that happened was because of her actions and the horrible things she did and the way she treated people. You can't do a bunch of awful things and then bring that up as an excuse and try to claim you're the real victim here because of how you look. So she... 10. Learned NOTHING about treating other people like objects for her own selfish benefit, lying, manipulating people, taking responsibility for her own actions 11. Is STILL manipulative as shit when she makes up with her best friend by doing this shitty, fake apology designed to get sympathy. "I'm sorry I suck." That's not a real apology. 12. Everybody just forgives her for no reason, she didn't even apologize to Veronica or Jamie, she gets her friends back, she gets the guy, and everybody lives happily ever after. Also, there was NO plan. There was no way for this to work out or for her to think it would work out except for her getting caught/having to come clean. Like she convinces this girl to webcam him, then go on a date with him (not to mention that at this point he thinks she's deaf...😑), so what was her plan? Why did she get that girl to go on a date with him, how was that supposed to help her get together with him? I guess when a lot of people catfish, they don't have a plan and they have to make it up as they go along, but there was no motivation for her to do that. There was no reasoning behind it. How was she expecting that to work out? I just don't get it. And she's an awful person who does awful things that she excuses with this perceived victimhood, she doesn't grow at all, doesn't say sorry, doesn't seem like she IS sorry for what she did, doesn't take any accountability, and gets forgiven and gets everything she wants. Hooray... But the soundtrack WAS good, that's about it.

    • damn u must be great at writing essays

    • @lmo except there are people who are truly awful and if you try to sugar coat it, they won't think it's that big of a deal and won't really do anything to change

    • @LiwiaGoszynska kissing without consent IS sexual assault. It's not rape, but still assault.

    • ONGG

    • THANK YOU FOR THIS 👌

  • dylan: "you can't mislead someone for this long and this hard and still end up with them" me having watched the movie: yeah well-

  • how are they gonna make a bomb ass looking movie and a bomb ass soundtrack and completely BOMB the actual plot???

  • No Sierra. Just no. I think that the movie is literally telling us why she IS a loser because damn, girl is a terrible person.

  • Catfishing girl: speaks to anyone Dylan: *MURDER??*

    • NJ it could be kid movie about talking cats and dylan would still come up with predictions regarding murder

  • i love that 80% of Dylan’s future plot predictions are about murder

    • I love that typically he's right in most movie commentaries

    • 👀👀👀

    • For some of these garbage movie, death is literally the only way this crap could be improved

    • If only

    • Look at your likes

  • This movie would’ve been kinda good if in the end she ended up single, learns what she did was wrong, and gets consequences for her actions. But literally she was a terrible person and at the end everything was fine

  • Veronica is a great actress. She played Alaska in the show based on the book "Looking for Alaska" and after her performance in that, I noticed how talented she actually was at acting xD.

  • Watching people react to this movie is better than watching the actual movie

  • People need to understand that just bcoz your life isn't great or bcoz u faced trauma that doesn't give you the right to do mean and bad and illegal things.

  • I never get embarrassed with my life, but I get severe secondhand embarrassment from shows and movies and have to pause them then come back to them. This movie gave me the worst embarassment. It took me 4 hrs to finish it lmao.

  • What are you talking about? Doing illegal activities together is always the best way to bond

    • The higher the risk, the stronger the bond. Literally this person is the only one to know this dark secret and vice versa, you can't escape them anymore, you're bound to the friendship taking the secret to the grave.

    • Heathers's entering the chat lol

    • @Crow The Wicked you’re close 😂

    • Shadshank Redemption in a nutshell... I think?

  • The two good things about this film were the 80’s romantic comedy incorporation and Veronica’s character development. The rest was hot garbage

  • I personally would've liked the movie better if Jamey had a touchdown and then what Sierra had posted on Veronica's instagram was a video of all the times Veronica was a terrible person in school (being a bully). He then tries to continue playing but gets injured, instead of rushing to the fields Sierra and Veronica have a falling out within earshot of Jamey (who's on the sidelines of course). Veronica gets suspended and after that is kicked off the cheerleading team and basically shunned by everyone. Jamey ends up making the decision to completely disengage from both Veronica and Sierra and focus on his football career, hence the scholarship. Veronica, Sierra, and her other best friend make up. Sierra goes to therapy and gets into the college she wants with a renewed sense of self-love. This was the only way I wouldn't dislike this movie as much as I do.

    • Lmao so her actions won’t have any real consequences? Homegirl literally catfished, stalked, sexually assaulted, manipulated and betrayed her close friends bro some of those things are literal crimes, put her in jail first, therapy comes second

    • And Sierra doesn’t get any sort of punishment? She should be getting shunned too? Her hating herself doesn’t excuse her? I’ve dealt w insecurities and self hatred for a very long time in my life but I didn’t go cat-fishing and/or hurting other people?.

    • 100% agree. This is a much more realistic and healthy ending than either the original (where Sierra wasn’t held accountable for any of her actions) or the ones people suggest where Sierra literally loses everything and doesn’t even get a chance to learn and become a better person.

  • Jamie: You are my type! Me: Oh! So your type is liars who catfish, stalk and violate you! Good to know!

    • @TheMindofaGenius1 S&M has nothing to do with that at all...dont try to link a assault and a sexual kink based on consent (bc yes, you consent before starting a bdsm session..)

    • @Micah Guillemette a person who enjoys physical pain.

    • @Kye Dysarthria A what?

    • You mean maschoist.

    • That's next level desprate

  • I love how Dylan turns this into a Thriller every opportunity he gets.

  • confusingly attracted to dylan when he talks about football because i'm a simp

    • Lol right? I hate football but I'm sat here finding the football rant endearing. 😅

  • this "i hate myself" movie series is literally the funniest thing on youtube. Always enjoy watching you laugh at these movies

  • Dylan's talking about this movie's inaccurate portrayal of football, meanwhile I'm thinking about it's weak portrayal of marching bands

    • Why were they getting away with talking in the middle of rehersal? Why was she sitting by herself in her marching uniform in the band room while the rest of the band had clearly left a while earlier? Wouldn't the band teacher and band leaders count everyone before leaving? Who's letting a random band student run into the field when it's not even time for the half-time show?

  • I would've liked the movie if it was from veronica's perspective she was the only one that had any kind of character growth

    • @Just A Leaf Exactly!

    • Yes! This would’ve been a cool idea especially seeing her thoughts about Jamey liking Sierra

    • YES

    • @Marlyn Gutierrez exactly lol. Coming from someone who has been catfished, I can tell you, you want nothing to do with the person afterwards

    • Exactly...I actually liked her alot

  • I’m 13 and I used to think this was cute. I’m so glad I now know how to identify red flags when I see them now. Especially with the copious amounts they put in these Netflix teenage romcoms.

  • 28:16 You can CLEARLY see that Dylan is 100% done with this movie. lmao

  • The only plot point I liked in this movie was the fact the “mean girl” became best friends with the protagonist instead of being a one dimensional bully that ended up getting some comeuppance by the end. It happened pretty early on too, they eliminated that popular girl bully element right out the gate. I really liked it when she was dumped and all emotional, she went straight to Sierra in the hall and hugged her

  • The language thing is so dumb. I can speak some Latin, am almost fluent in Spanish, am able to have almost a full conversation in Japanese, I know a bit of German and Italian. My roommate is even teaching me some French. I'm 26 and I want to speak other languages so I can see the world and not panic as much over the language barrier.

    • legit. do they want someone to speak a language they can’t understand themselves? how would they know they could actually speak it? i’ll make up a language and be like “oh it’s this one language that only 32 people speak” or whatever. the point of learning languishes is to communicate with others. the only one i speak is english and i’ve learned some french, but only like what 3 years of highschool and having memory problems would know. it’s impressive to speak more than one language bc the amount of people you can talk to have now widened. and in this movie it’s “pfft you speak a language other humans speak? wow you’re stupid” there’s so many things i hate about this movie. i cant help but watch it to make fun of it

    • @maeve Yes, it's a Native American language with less than 50,000 speakers as of 2021. There are some Third World languages with less than 100.

    • Nvm I didn’t know ab that language lmao is it like native american?

    • @NJGuy1973 what is chippewa 😭😭

    • @NJGuy1973 lmfaoo 😭😭

  • But like she not ugly, you can be slim and ugly, and shapely and gorgeous 😑 tf is this movie

    • @lmo stop misunderstanding every single comments you reply on...that's irritating to read the same things everywere in the comment section

    • She is, but more in the" not taking care of herself" type of way.

    • It was clearly written by someone who was overweight as a teenager and has had lifelong resentment for it.

    • @Aki omg behave😂😂😂

  • I just love how Dylan just gets right the plot of the movie like literally 3 seconds in EVERY SINGLE TIME!

  • When Sierra said : bonsoir! I screamed EW my mom got really confused

  • I love how the movie tries to make us think she is ugly but Shannon Purser is gorgeous

  • Did anyone else feel really bad for Veronica at the end?

    • @FrostThrone Idk, they're teens and her upbringing probably made her not understand healthy boundaries. I think end arc Veronica would have made different choices if she was made aware it was sexual assault instead of some romantic Hollywood gesture. She's on the right track to being a better person at least. The desire to be a better person is there. Sierra learned absolutely nothing and has no desire to be a better person. Nothing redeemable.

    • @Lavínia Madeira Ffs, credit were credit is due. You know what, yeah that doesn't erase what she did, but it changes what she does and who she is. Sierra didn't fucking change in the slightest and she is still guven exactly what she wants. That is a terrible message. Both were terrible people, but the differance is that one changed and one doesn't. It's true that the past determines who we are, but don't forget that her changing also becomes a part of her past. It's not about feeling pity it's about knowing the difference between past and present. Just because something was a sertain way in the past doesn't mean it's that way now and you should be able to see that. The past determines the future, but the future is not the past. The only reason you feel this mad about it is because you can't look past who she was in the past. If we were to see her as a good character throughout the movie and lern eventually that she used to be a bad person, you would not react the same. You're sp stuck on seeing her the bad person from her past, that you don't see the good she is in the present. Sierra however is a bad person throughout the entire fucking thing and she deserved non of the forgiveness, because she didn't have a change of heart.

    • @Lavínia Madeira Did she really tho? If anyone deserved it it was Sierra, but we both know how that went!

  • I want a whole movie about the friend. He's way more interesting than anyone else

  • "You're exactly my type" after you fell in love with her when you thought she was a skinny blonde cheerleader?? uh huh

  • As a southern girl, hearing what you think is country when you speak is hilarious. You sound more British than southern 🤣

  • I just realized that when Sierra yelled to Jamie, that he yells and back and the version of Sierra is supposed to be deaf.

    • I thought her friend in the band yelled to him, and how would he so easily forgive him when (his little brother? I didn't watch the movie just this) is deaf and she's pretending? She's got so many things she's doing sooooo wrong

  • There are two things Dylan wants from life in every video: a murder and/ or a lesbian love story. Every. Video.

    • don't we all

    • And then he watched Jennifer's Body and didn't like it. The audacity.

    • @Mackenzie Argue Yaas, he would love it

    • Proof that Dylan is the most intelligent man on the internet

  • "why she is a villain just by getting dumped by dm" me: that's how society treats women, actually

  • The actress is actually singing the song she wrote. She sings a few lines in the musical episodes of Riverdale and is one of the strongest singers on the show.

  • Dylan every five minutes, “is she gonna murder him” 💀💀

  • I love that Dylan explains why he liked the movie for the way it was shot but still disliked the actual plot

  • This plot is so toxic for teenage girls.

    • @victory robertson It is obviously subjective, but I think a preference for skinnier people is something most, if not, a lot of people have. Not saying that shaming others based on looks is ok, though.

    • yea

    • I am their maim demographic and I hated Sierra. I continue watching for Veronica until I gave up because I realized they were making Sierra the victim.

    • @Melina Kenyon EXACTLY. I don't get how people don't realize this. The entire point of Cyrano is that he could have literally had what he wanted if he had literally just been himself and not let his pride and fear get in the way. My only issue with this retelling is that they shoehorn in the happy ending which does absolutely nothing to convey this point, that Cyrano was completely in the wrong and that his life could have been better had it not been for his own awful hubris and insecurity.

    • @Kairi Rowand it definitely is a beauty standard, but simply one that not everyone can or wants to live up to. It’s pretty stupid and outdated to push the “chubby/fat = ugly” narrative at this point. I’ve also never been skinny my entire life and have never had trouble getting attention from men or women so that’s pretty subjective.

  • I read a comic, where this scene 17:39 happened to the mc and the Mc had trauma and trust issues for YEARS. And he couldn't even kiss someone without feeling overwhelming dread and nausea. It was so sad damn

  • I can’t tell if the movie wants us to be on Sierra’s side or not lol

  • This entire video felt like an interactive conversation like the video was a transcript of a conversation we would have in person!! I LOVED this movie, and I agree with a lot of your points in the video!

  • I was SO disappointed in this movie, and had been so hopeful beforehand. I was excited for a not-stereotypical leading female movie with an attractive love interest, but the catfishing plot completely ruined it. It's not unrealistic for attractive men, Noah's type, to be into plus size women, and it would have been really refreshing to see that, instead we got this. We sorta get the attractive skinny man likes the plus size woman from the start with Netflix's Dumplin, but most of the movie was more Willowdean pushing Bo away because of her self esteem issues. Still holding out for the day we get a nice romantic movie with a plus size woman and an attractive man who both equally like each other from the start, but the conflict comes from something ELSE besides self esteem issues or catfishing.

  • I love that Dylan watches so many chick-flicks by choice and yet they're so boring that the entire time he is just "predicting" (=wishful thinking) that the plot will go batshit crazy, the lackluster protagonist will start murdering bitches and the painfully heteronormalized characters will turn out gay out of nowhere even though it contradicts the plot😂😂 *Dylan, watch NBC Hannibal, its an absolute poetic masterpiece, delivers more than you can ever wishful think for, you will not be disappointed!*

  • trust Dylan to turn any movie genre into a murder mystery 😂😂

  • "Why would people abondon her if she's the victim of a guy being an asshole" Lmao, people are nasty, trust me. I knew a girl who was sexually assaulted by a classmate and then the entire class proceeded to avoid her and continued being friends with him because he was "popular", despite all knowing exactly what he did to her

  • I love Dylan guessing a shit ton of random things and then when he gets something right he's like "I'm so good! I guess everything!" 😂😂

  • B-but Sierra kissed him without consent though. How in the world is that romantic in any way possible?

    • @karifuq What about it? What do you mean by did something?

    • @jm329 look at the reply to your comment

    • @karifuq What do you mean?

    • @jm329 you thought you did something huh

    • Hollywood is notoriously fuzzy on healthy boundaries, on and off screen.

  • In my high school, getting dumped over dms does bring down your social status. It was viewed as you're not even worth while to get dumped in person. Also football games in a school that looks this small wouldn't have security. My school was this size and not in a horrible area and there wasn't security at a football game. But sierra is a villain in this movie, it was a bad overall message in my opinion.

  • I was hoping you noticed how solid that handshake was 😂

  • I love how Dylan gets so pissed at the whole "football technicalities" XD I totally see myself flipping off at misinterpretations of something I'm well versed into xD

  • Tip: when apologising, don’t make it about you, don’t say ‘I’m so sorry I’m such a shitty person’ even if that’s true, you are guilt tripping them and I won’t accept your apology

  • When I watched this movie, I immediately wanted Sierra x Veronica, they’ve got the only genuinely positive/good relationship in the movie (until the finale ofc)

  • The amount of secondhand shame I felt for Sierra almost made me pass out.

  • The only person on CS-tv who actually tries to say Noah Centipede’s actual name and still ended up mispronouncing it

  • Dylan getting fired up about the knowing other languages scene is giving me life. 😂

  • The film is messed up... you’re right that’s certainly sexual assault.

    • & the saddest part is that if the genders were reversed, this movie would be bashed and called a horrible sexual assault film. like obviously women are sexually assaulted and its a serious problem, but it should work the same way with men instead of being brushed over

    • @shifa she's just comparing people's reaction. If genders were exchanged

    • MiaPlaysHalo wdym? people hate this movie and think it’s creepy. don’t make this into a boy vs girl thing

    • @MiaPlaysHalo you stole the words out of my mouth! 🙌

    • @MiaPlaysHalo righttttt

  • One of the few movies that does an outstanding job of actively making you hate their main character 110%.

  • I love how he's calling Noah "Peter kavinsky" and Shannon "barb from stranger things"

  • The thing is, this movie tells the audience that if you look like Sierra or similar to her or have her body shape, you're ugly.

  • When she crawled under the covers to talk to him I felt that. I do that same shit as if hiding means he can’t hear me 💀

  • I love watching Dylan getting riled up over football. It's the best.

  • The fact that he mixed up 'now that's what i call music' and 'everybody hates Chris' is killing me

  • "Why would people abandon her when she's the victim of a guy being an asshole" ...sadly that does happen in real life

  • Your reactions are so on point 😂👌 That's exactly how i felt watching this movie.

  • "Is that a f*cking taco!" why did i laugh so hard at that lol

  • 21:24 Just because you're superficial doesn't mean you have a high self esteem. She tries to make people think she's superior, partly to convince herself she's worth something. If she really loved herself she wouldn't go back to a guy who dumped her for "not being smart enough" and she certainly wouldn't be a part of this whole scheme in the first place

  • I love when Dylan goes all football fan on us 😂 No movie can ever make a realistic sequence, and it annoys me to no end

  • Watching the reactions of males on movies with a female demographic is so entertaining. I enjoy learning about the guys’ perspective and feelings

  • But yeah, this movie's message was creepy and super problematic and I can't believe someone thought this was okay to make, like at all. Sierra did not deserve the guy at the end and honestly, she's lucky she got to keep her friends.

  • Man am I glad I didn’t have to watch this movie for myself. It would have been so much harder to get through.

  • Dylan’s prediction about Veronica and Jamie ending up together and Sierra doing her own thing sounds like the plot to The Half of It

  • I really thought Veronica was going to end up falling for sierra! I can’t believe that wasn’t the original ending. It was perfectly set up. And I think that’s why Netflix did The Half Of It right after this🙄

  • the world: Dylan in every single movie he sees: Is she gonna murder someone?!?!?!
