  • Every time B1M pops up at my notif, it's an auto-click! hahahahaha! This channel made me love engineering!

    • You don't know China. China has complete laws to protect the interests of the relocated people. In fact, people who are demolished are often happy. They will get a new house and a lot of money.

Hahaha, I am also Chinese. I wish I could get a lot of government compensation from the high-speed rail so I could get a lot of government compensation. Hahaha, have you ever heard of demolishing the second generation?I have to say that your lie is very clumsy

  • Train to the camps every ten minutes!!!

  • With all my critiques on China their development, as in what they have accomplished is amazing.

  • They're beating us so bad they are making our subway trains now -boston & chicago crrc sifang

  • All these PRC developments only looks good from the outside, once you look closer you will see everything is garbage inside.

  • The United States needs a nationwide high-speed “bullet train” system to replace the antiquated Amtrak system.

  • Labor cost is not a significant fraction. Most of the cost savings have been produced by standardization of design and process maximizing off-site fabrication and streamlined construction project management, and topics near and dear to B1M. You should consider a deep-dive into these issues because there is much to be learned from the Chinese approach that could be copied and applied elsewhere.

  • look at this 13 year's growth and progress!! Some country in the west.. that one, the loudest noise with millions of morons, that one.. still is debating if they should change the name of airports

  • ALL FUTURE RAIL SHOULD BE HIGH SPEED IF WE WANT TO BE SUPER POWER

  • The mean license inexplicably excuse because laundry kinetically worry except a envious share. overrated, clammy rabbit

  • So many salty Americans hating on China in the comments rn…

  • China do be playing 4d chess in comparison to the world. I really like how China is playing Sim City expertly. I just wish they aren't so aggressive. I don't want to see the war to end all wars.

  • scrotum

  • 5:52 The US doesn't have eight cities with more than five million. :)

  • "America leading"... hehe, where, in what? and how long? Maybe number of independent countries of the world, attacked by US army... thats the only, where America is leading.

  • >China does something > *EVIL MUSIC PLAYS*

  • No don't build trains, rather finance nonsense military projects this is EU, USA way.

  • Publish date is March 2021, but there's an article clipping from May 2021 - did the video get updated since being released?

  • Well, let's see how long the can keep it up for. My guess is 20 years max.

    • And you are?

  • China's economic growth and development is entirely because of the United States. It all started in 1972 when Nixon visited China and began normalizing relationships between the two countries and opening up trade and financial exchanges. If not for that one visit, China may still be a large 3rd world country.

  • And now China (Cooperation with Indonesia) is building High speed train In Indonesia. It will be opened in 2022. China is an amazing country right now.

  • errrr, Beijing is not coastal city ````

  • Yeah that's right slave labor. No america will never come close to catching up with china's rail system. But it would be nice to even see a little effort from our government. More proof there is no god. If there were, Congress would have died from some extremely painful disease

  • It's simple you need to have massive population to sustain rail network

    • @Aryan kr Not only political system. India has signed a contract with Japan to build a bullet train in 2015 .It is dealyed because of the difficulty in land aquisition and corruptions. Many Indians famers won’t give up their lands and they think a bullet train won’t benefit them because they think a 3$ train ticket is too expensive for them. I think India need a strong central government like China or Singapore in 1970s. One politocal party dedicated to improve living standards and taking responsibility.

    • @Sheena Smith Yes , I admit , Because of rotten political system

    • india has the same population with china but do not have one until 2030

  • 04:59 by 2035 all city with population more than... half billion people will have access to high speed rail. Indonesian at 2035 with quarter billion people : What the fish is that thing?

  • 8:25 Pete Buttigieg Wants The U.S. To Lead The World In High-Speed Rail - that's a BIGGEST dream in world!

  • China is so good at rail projects because China have gotten it down to a fine art and can build high speed rails in the shortest time and the lowest cost.

  • Excellent channel... I learn from and enjoy every episode. Thank you!

  • US North-East so called high speed train is a joke. It travels on the same line as other regional trains and hardly goes faster then a car on a highway going parallel to it. US will never have a fast railroad system. They just keep investing in new highways. Granted, US population is just a round up error compared to China’s.

  • China steals American High Speed Tech

    • But Ameroca do not have a High Speed Rail😂

    • the US do not even have high speed rail of 300km/hr like china

    • Proof?

  • Yes they will be no. 1 bcz in their country no tu tu may may like other countries

  • America learn instead of spending on weapon n lost wars after wars that you created remember China is now has hyoersonic nuclear missile the speed which you can't stop

  • This is China. Well, China is invincible. I love China. Of course I am also a Chinese.!!!

  • Everyone talking about how USA is much better. meanwhile, us 36 in colorado took 5years to complete 30 miles of highway and after couple years in 2019 a massive landslide happend. Helayeah great 👍

  • Fertility rate control policy made CHINA peaceful , beautiful healthy and wealthy and that is good example for rest of world.

  • All hail China!

  • The dark side of the Chinese vast network of high speed railway is skillfully omitted in this episode. It failed to mentioned that most of the 40,000km of high speed railways are not making profit. Instead, it has becoming a huge financial burden for the country. In fact, it is so indebted that it's interest payments have been significantly higher than the operating profits since 2015. The China Rail Corporation (CRC)'s debts has reached US$850billions, not to mention the corruption opportunities generated during the crazy process. And it is almost certain that most of these network will never make a profit. Amazing!

    • No wonder USA elites love wars because wars made profit and it benefit rich white dudes in wall street office.

    • @Sheena Smith Where's the logic? Do you mean India should have all the second largest infrastructures in the world because they have the second largest population?

    • @Stray Photons anyway, china has the largest airports in the world because china has many people..

    • @Stray Photons the US is going lazy anyway full of karens..

    • @Blokin Proves again that you are not one of the victims of that system. Period.

  • Gotta love slave labor.

  • Genuinely thought this channel would be biased against China. Pleasantly surprised.

  • Somewhere usa is crying in corner

  • china high speed train i took before from shanghai to suzhou

  • in australia we had train metro systerm in all the state

  • china finally had china high speed train copy from japan

    • @yong zhao not only faster also stable.

    • faster than japan

  • India is underdog in rail network. Since we depend on it much more, and increasing fuel prices, rail network in India will progress much rapidly

    • @Sheena Smith doesn't matter, what matters is it's demand is only increasing in India

    • china's trains are 350 km/hr

  • is smoking allowed ?

  • Subscribed for no bias views

  • here in Indonesia we are laying HSR track , join coorporation with China HSR. soon this will be the first HSR line in SE Asia. I've been travel with HSR in Japan, Spain, Germany , China .... I can say the Chinese are doing a very good job with HSR ..

  • These trains are the superior method of travel IMO

  • Respect from INDIA❤️ That's how high Population potential can be ustlized. It's only Possible due to different type Communism and unity. Their is no wonder it's possible within few decades 20 hands are working together To Build in one direction. Compare to West who have 2 hand for same task. And in INDIA our 8 Hands work Against us in worst form of Democracy Which cancel out everything. What shame I wish things will change in my country as well. It's Western propaganda Media which always try to present Bad side of China even tho they Can't find it and make up stuff most of the time.

  • 😒

  • B1M really pussyfoots around the reason how China can achieve such speed in developing high speed rail infrastructure... Which is because they're commies and can literally funnel funds in this way.

  • Welcome to the .50 cent China chat room lol.

  • I don't think it's reasonable to say that other countries' lack of large-population cities is what's holding them back from constructing high-speed rail networks. Japan, with only 3 cities with more than 5 million residents, has one of the best high-speed rail networks in the world. It even connects to cities with far less than 1 million residents. Countries like the USA have no real excuses when there are countless urban spaces with populations over or around 1 million.

  • Many hands make light work

  • The majestic harp morally remove because request relevantly sail times a general gentle polyester. wealthy, bashful stream

  • China hated japan so much that it copy its high speed rail networks

    • U should say we hate German?

    • Lol

    • So, we in Spain hate Japan so much too, and that's why we have the 2nd largest high speed rail network in the world?🤔

  • in a hyperloop the mavlev train will go 1200 km per hpur

  • I love how this video brushes the low cost of labor and the low cost of land confiscating as somehow a minor inconvenient or even a good thing! Western leftists are the most disconnected humans from reality. They want high wages but mass projects with low costs! They want freedom but a government that will do whatever they want and plan every aspects of their lives. They want to have a say in what's happening but they want central planning. For some reason all the oppressed people in the world who want to be free and live in peace want to live in the western countries! And the only people who would go to China are people who want to do business & quick money and leave asap! Don't you find this ironic?! The easy money is where 'socialists, equality seeking, worker's right activists' system rule?? Peace and freedom is where the 'evil, racists, misogynists, abusing workers' system rule?! In western countries the whole society goes crazy and cries 'human rights' & 'racism' because of a meme, a post, a single action of an individual! And the same people who would make the noise praise China where an entire religious, ethnic or regional groups are being mass incarcerated, prosecuted and even killed! We suppose to look at all this lights, steel and cement in China and be in awe without any regard for the human conditions! Those are masochists who thinks it doesn't matter and it's all for the greater good! Greater good of whom I'd like to know!

    • cry more yank, chinese century is here

  • Yet I wonder why when western media (especially American ones like NPR and Vox) talks about high speed rail traveling they almost never mention China even though it's the most expansive. They only marvel at Japan's and France's which are much smaller networks and in my opinion vastly overrated. I don't know if average westerners are even aware that Chinese people have been enjoying bullet trains for almost a decade now. They probably still think that we ride horses to work and don't even have cars yet. Hilariously hypocritical.

    • I noticed that for a long time, and the end is most of Americans love Japan and hate China. Propaganda won

  • On June 25, China's first plateau electrified railway, the Lhasa-Nyingzhi Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Lalin Railway), was officially put into operation, and the Fuxing plateau dual-source EMU was put into operation synchronously. Lhasa to Shannan and Nyingchi can be reached in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 3 hours and 29 minutes at the earliest. As Fuxing entered Tibet, China has historically achieved full coverage of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. The total length is 435.48 kilometers, which can be reached from Lhasa to Nyingchi in 3 hours and 29 minutes at the earliest.

  • I'm glad people are realizing China's beyond imagination improvement and the US's non-sense. oh, how I am glad to be Chinese.

    • Don't celebrate your victory to early, Hitler and Hirohito did same thing but then their empires got destroyed. China will have the same faith if they don't stop trying to conquer your neighbors like Taiwan, Philippines and Vietnam.

  • Still remember when I was working in Shanghai for a few days and we took the train system to hangzhou and other places, it was super convenient is compared to flying. Really remarkable.

  • Video about anything that’s Chinese = idiots in the comments section saying “China sucks, and all of you guys are just Chinese troll bots”

  • Bravo China. The next Superpower. I want to travel in China.

  • The current economic downturn an opportunity? The US is still quarreling over the 'proper' way to leave Afghanistan while its citizens deliberate if they should wear masks. Petty.

  • US, economy boomed in 1880's after build railway cross the country. Railway unified the country and made reachable everywhere and trade/industry boomed. Now China builds HSR cross mainland, sure it will unify the counry and boom trade/economy in the country same happened in US 140 years ago. We have to respect to those great people who grow up an industrilized country from poor country within 4 decades only.

  • What a serious country looks like.

  • Long story short. American will never catch China in HSR development. Why? There is too much debating in government, building HSR will ruin many core industries. … all I got to say is Good Luck

  • The US army is such a meme here 🤣

  • Only work & development in China,no comments

  • Something the head of the department of transportation, Pete Bootygieg do agree on is the US does need real high speed rail.

  • The west isn't just the us, please

    • Sure, but the US is flagship country of the West

  • High speed rail is really a lot more than just being fast. They are also very convenient as most train stations are right in town.

  • even Uzbekistan have more HSR network compared to USA

  • I mean the answer to their unstoppable growth is that the government owns everything and can easily take your "private" land

  • China's population is decentralized, and high-speed rail is more suitable for China than airports .

    • China also has many airports, built a few mega airports in recent years.

  • There are way too many Chinese nationalists turning this political

    • there are many anti china in many china progress videos.

    • But there are also many comments criticizing communism, dictatorship, fascism etc

    • @Lady Bridgerton to your second point: I wasn't telling them not to do it. It is not in my power to do so. I was stating my opinion on how a certain type of people were weren't really trying to be respectful and follow internet etiquette

    • @Lady Bridgerton there are people who are not Chinese nationalists, who are simply commenting on the vid and you are not one of them. This debunks your first sentence

    • So, to you, anyone who defends China is a Chinese national? Way to go. I wonder what happened to freedom of speech. People, being able to say whatever they want, whether or not, you approve.

  • Positive information piece about China: unbiased, fair. Negative: lies, deception. I mean, you are showing your bias, very clearly….. But, I do like China public transport system. It is the only one to develop its transport system within the last 50 years and successfully building one. None of the developing right now have built one. Granted, China have massive advantage over others, huge pool of manpower, rich natural resources, flood of foreign investments in the 80s. However, only China has the political will and financial power to build one. I don’t think this can replicate anywhere else in the world. Even if a government pays China to build a public transport network for them, they do not have the political will to carry out the entire project to its completion and starts benefiting from it. The growth of such network require a level of organic growth, that would make growing it too slow, or they need the level of growth like China, in which wherever the network reach, huge growth follows. I don’t think any other country on Earth have the same successful ingredients to be like China. It is the 21st century wonder of the world.

  • Beijing is a coastal city?

    • No, but not far from the coast.

    • No, Tianjin near Beijing is...

  • USA and the UK were like the worst comparison you could have chosen lol. While it's true China is leading in the high-speed rail department, most European countries and Japan have still been way more invested in it than USA or UK for decades.

    • This is an English video for an English audience. UK/US comparison is appropriate.

  • makes the amtrak station in my area look like a hitching post

  • Amazing !! China is the future

  • great video.....waiting over 10 years now for our California high speed rail.

  • The next horizon for HSR would be South Asia with similar sized population. China and Japan are competing for these contracts. I look forward to the future where I can board a train in Shanghai and disembark in Mumbai.

  • When the people of their time look back on this century in 2121 and compare it with the 20th century, undoubtedly it will have been Chinese. The Indians would be able to do it too but there the very wealthy don't fair their portion of income tax and the mentality (from us) is to "sweat the assets" _which is wy the Indian railway system has changed little since "independence" from the UK75 years ago_

  • Am a young engineer and I just came across this channel! Definitely subscribing and gonna binge watch your videos!

  • The hot huge maple structurally colour because belief methodologically wobble anenst a next beet. icky, adjoining rhythm

  • Not like the people living there have any say, perks of a dictatorship

  • The California high speed rail won't open, it'll just disappear

  • If you want to get rich, build roads.

  • Excellent video. I was in China in 1997, 2007 and 2017 and the difference is incredible. Every time I go back I'm amazed at the progress.

  • Is it true that the US does not have a single high speed railway line?

    • In our case (China), high-speed rail is defined as a design speed of 250km / h, and the actual operating average speed is greater than 200 km / h

    • @Abir Bansal I see. The Acela has 240 kph top speed and 131 kph average speed. That is indeed not very impressive for the worlds biggest economy.

    • It's true. The Acela Express is fast but abysmal compared to the real deal.

  • Our country has been operating high-speed railways at a loss for the convenience of the people and long-term economic development. Most countries cannot do it.

  • This century is the century of China. Once the Hyperloop is perfected India will rival them.

    • India doesn't even have a few decent railways yet, I don't mean to break it to you, I just want to state some facts

    • HAHAHAHAHA

  • Summary: with a lunatic dictatourship, you can build anything.

    • Then, I wonder why Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, North Korea, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Myanmar don't have these same achievements.

    • hmm
