  • It's actually kind of impressive how the game is seven years old and they've managed to make the matchmaking this bad.

    • it’s unbelievable. ow2 is a glorified update and they managed to completely ruin matchmaking despite the good changes that were made. why is this not top priority. oh wait we’re dealing with blizzard, money is the priority, keep buying $20 skins 🥴

    • Yall really want a hard core mm in quickplay?

    • @backlash00z def not, but ranked mm is really bad. I’m mid masters atm and i couldn’t care if i got bronzes in my game in quickplay, it’s supposed to be chaotic

    • They lowered the cost of skins. They arnt money hungry

    • tbf bullshit and matchmaking always go in a single package

  • okay but the doomfist saying 'pelicans are the better bird' as a way of trash talking seagull was so funny lol.

    • Bro for real though he is trying to roast everyone but fails so badly. He probably doesn’t know how to fully roast people. Quick play is full of sweats and roasters

    • sorry but the sweats are clearly the streamers here lol

    • @Riyan Koto flats was no where near sweating

  • It's always either you get rolled, or the enemy team gets rolled. It feels so good when both teams are sweating for the victory, but these games are so rare

    • And they say their systems try to put you with people who are near your skill. But then i always get rolled.

    • On quick play yeah my teammates never try they dead ass are always like it's quick play. Like I get that but that doesn't mean we gotta feed the enemy team and throw the game. Anymore I try to just play ranked since I'm a solo.

    • @SquishyMain well if someone plays casual and the game thinks they at your level (even when your sweating) and they decide to sweat against you its bassically a roll, vice versa

  • I got onto a quickplay game and watched the other team hit fat rotations as they were countering our comp I was in disbelief

    • qp is just comp but shorter matches

    • I get the notion that quickplay games have been feeling less casual, but I do find it funny that there's almost a taboo on it. Like, oh my god, A GOOD PLAYER/TEAM IN QUICKPLAY? BLASPHEMY. As if good players are only allowed to be tryhard sweats and nothing else.

    • @Mariyo I don't get the notion that no one should try to win in QP. Sure, if you wanna goof around that's cool, who cares? But same goes for playing to win. I see it so often though

    • @Value bro I'm with you there. I always thought the idea of QP was that you can do whatever. Try to win, troll, screw around, anything. So anytime someone is mad because "wow what a tryhard" or "wow what a troll" in QP, I just kinda roll my eyes.

    • my college team practices in quick play sometimes bc we cant play ranked bc of rank disparity, it kinda feels bad though

  • I have been consistently placed in qp games against GM and top 500 supports despite being bronze myself. I don't mean "top 500 challenger" I mean actual current rank on their career profile is top 500. I had this happen two games in a row last night.

    • This happens to me quite often as well. I'm mostly Plat but am often matched up against masters and up in quick play. The game thinks I'm much better than I really am, which kinda sucks since I just play overwatch casually with friends from time to time.

    • @J R i had to make a separate account to play with friends without going against super good players in qp

    • @J R same!!!!

    • just buy a new account for five dollars it will put you against new players for a few weeks lmao

    • Same as a bronze. It’s…not fun.

  • As a low ranked, solo player myself (mid gold being my highest rank), I personally have to call BS that QP uses a "similar matching" system since the enemy team will have a diamond or master player on their team more often than not

    • The quality of the matches are so bad that it genuinely feels like it’s just finding ten players queued for QP and throwing them in a lobby without looking at literally anything about their profile. It didn’t feel nearly this bad in OW1. They have drastically changed something about how it works.

  • I understand they said they were working on the matchmaking, but there are still a lot of bad games happening. You shouldn't be getting games where the enemy team couldn't even kill 1 of u, they were clearly not in ur skill rank

    • Improving the matchmaking is, of course, always a good idea, but I think there will always be some unbalanced matches, because there's no way for the matchmaking system to predict external circumstances such as: - the player has hardware / connection issues, - the player is high as a kite, drunk, sick, not awake or all of the above, - the player is just tilted as hell, often managing to tilt the rest of the team, - the player is dead-bent on practicing heroes they are not that good at and/or don't work well in that particular situation, - the player is good as a part of a duo, but doesn't work well with randoms, - a younger sibling / a child got their hands on the account, and so on, and so forth. Personally, I just started treating it as a challenge - can I lift that dead weight? If no, not a biggie, I just let that go. But sometimes proper support - be it healing or peeling - can turn them into useful assets, even if it's only as a meat shield, distraction or an ult battery 😅

    • @Tomira B Yeah, you've put it well. Lot of situations matchmaking cannot account for unfortunately.

    • Hey hey.... they got 5

    • @Tomira B bruh. even without those external factor, the current matchmaking can't even make a consistent matchups. the key is consistency. golds paired only with golds against golds only team. plats paired with plats against plats only teams. other game with far more complexity like Dota 2 managed to do that, but Blizzard can't. It's just ironic, a 31 years old game company acting like a small indie company that can't figure things out as simple as that

    • I've had comp games like this where everyone was gm 1, it just happens sometimes

  • Played my first comp game yesterday and the enemy team had like 2 masters dps and a diamond tank, it was sooo fun getting rolled and ending the game with a 3-17 k/d thanks for the good matchmaking Blizzard i've learned a lot 😍😍😍❤❤❤

  • I've had at least 2 games in competitive (gold/plat) where the enemy team has 0 kills by the end of the match. Matchmaking feels very weird sometimes

  • I actually played (if you could call it "playing") a QP match last night where my team was held hostage at spawn since the start of the match on Circuit Royal and never stopped. We couldn't get a single kill and the enemy team was being toxic all the while. Needless to say, they were much, much higher rank than us and it was a miserable experience. "QP is just for fun," people argue? More like its purpose is to allow high rank players to stomp low rank casuals and give them a bad time. It's only "fun" for high rank players. Also, just for some additional context for anyone who cares, I was already on a big lose streak when it happened. Why Activision thinks my MMR is super high, I have no idea.

    • Circuit Royale is trash. That exact thing happens on that map more than any of them in my experience. That long stretch from the spawn door to the first turn is awful. It gives defenders high ground to just melt your team as they’re coming out and unless you play a coordinated dive (which obviously isn’t happening in QP), you get spawn trapped.

  • We've had in our rounds of quickplay several diamond and master players. It is very intimidating to see in quick play. Haven't been brave enough to try regular comp again but have been trying the mystery heros version.

  • My current rank is plat, but I'm probably low diamond if I grinded ranked enough, and the other day, I got matched against a person who made it to top 500 every season since release in the same role as me in QP. That was not a fun game. MM doesn't seem to be getting better. It might actually be getting worse.

  • I wanna say, that Rialto game, despite you guys absolutely rolling the enemy, I love that they kept fighting. Every QP game I get into like that my team just gives up and sits in spawn afk

  • Pretty sure Qp has its on MMR system (not tied to comp) So It means that you could be high Qp MMR but low Comp MMR. Don’t get me wrong though Qp games are sometimes almost if not more sweaty than comp games and they do help with improving to some extent which is why you might place high once you do. Like flats said it’s “Diet comp”

  • I once played a QM game with a hanzo dealt 0 damage for 2 games. He was seemingly trying as when I was inspecting him but he missed ALL his shots

    • I think that's a different problem. Prime is or was running a promotion probably attracting a lot of new players. It happens often for me to be on par for elims as Zen. Recently though some dps players are just bad.

    • that’s so weird. I had a game a few days ago with a Hanzo that dealt 1500 damage over the course of two rounds. I backfilled in towards the end of the first round and he had a good bit of ult when I got there so he must’ve been there from the start too. By the end of it, I had more damage on Ana than he had on Hanzo and it was legit just from accidental hits on enemies while trying to heal my teammates lmao

  • As a brand new player since the launch of overwatch 2 and quick play only person I used to be able to roll others with pharah since I was in such a low rating. But as I played more quick play I "ranked" up in a sense because I now play people that know what a hitscan is

  • The way the matchmaking works in this game its impossible to take a break. If you do you'll just get endlessly stomped into the ground for a couple of days. It made me realize I wasn't THAT bad at the game but jfc.

  • With how stomp or be stomped qp is I dont see how the game can retain new players, frustration seems to be the first word coming to mind talking about OW2

    • What’s really frustrating is that healing power creep has reduced the game to “who can do the most concentrated burst damage?” too, which makes the game hard to learn. When I first started, you had Hanzo and Widow being the only two that would instantly delete you with no warning but Hanzo was inconsistent because his arrows were slow and scatter arrow could either rip your legs off or not touch you at all. So widow was really the only consistent noob stomper. This was around OW1 season 4. This meant you had more time to learn what to do and not do, rather than just instantly die the moment you make a misstep. People can’t even learn what they did wrong because they don’t have the chance to correct it like they used to be able to when TTK was lower across the board. Now, though. Whew. Half the roster can almost instantly kill you and a few can instantly kill you consistently. If I was new to the game, I can guarantee I wouldn’t have stuck with it had I started with the way it is now. It’s too fast paced. Either nothing is happening or an entire fight happened and was lost or won in three seconds.

  • Can confirm. I climbed in qp. Loved arcade and put a lot of time into that but not a lot of comp. Been in QP only for like 6 months. Have risen from gold to masters in that timeframe

  • Seagull saying W+M1 reminds the fact he still has the Tf2 mindset.

  • QP has been so sweaty. I try to practice heroes I'm not good at in qp but always have to switch to my main in order to actually try/have a chance. It's outrageous.

  • For the profiles I've been able to check, the win/loss for all comp games since season 1 are relatively close to 50% win rate. So it doesn't seem like a myth. I'll ask this question in games too and ppl can confirm😮‍💨

    • Accurate

  • The poor Mercy saying group up because she needed an anchor back onto a platform lmao

  • flats i love seeing you do quickplay, especially because the enemies can just leave if they feel they are getting rolled. it's just good content without any negativity because you're not smurfing in ranked. (:

    • what, you got a problem with Mystery Heroes Tuesday???

    • @For Commenting i LIVEEEE for mystery heroes tuesday, but i'm a quick play warrior myself and love to see it be used for fun!

    • @brghid okay good, I'm not gonna stand for any slight against Mystery Heroes Tuesday.

    • they can just leave? uhm what? leaving is like the most annoying thing you can due except maybe intentionally lose. there's clearly a issue with matchmaking if the entire enemy team didn't even manage to kill one player. I dont blame flats, it aint his fault the matchmaking is broken. But to encourage people to leave is toxic. There should be penalties for leaving matches.

    • @Viola tbh i literally cannot comprehend this comment. why would you penalise players for quick play matches? it is a game mode intended for NEW and casual players. who would want to be stuck in a game they can’t do anything in????

  • I had to sit through a 30 minute quick play game because my teammates lost the first push and left the game. Every time someone new joined they would leave bc the enemies didnt capture the point and were spawn camping the entire match. All of them were LEAGUES above me and my team. Why didn't i leave? BECAUSE ID GET PENALIZED. Idk what happened between Ow1 and Ow2 but I can't seem to get any good/fun quick play games any more

  • I believe it I've had players who don't understand the idea of retreat for heals. And to top it off had a Widow who would spam "I need healing" while our front line is barley holding on. Widow should be taking the least amount of damage yet she was complaining the most about heals.

    • ive had a genji take 20 damage and REFUSED to move from his hiding point for me as an ANA to heal while I'm busy topping up my reckless Reinhardt its 20 hp just go besides the rein ill hit you in tandem that way

  • Me and my friends played a few quickplay games today and i went 0-6 for a majority of the game on my main cuz idk ig the first game of the night for me was just absolutely horrendous so I swapped to something else to vibe on and finally started to get some kills, still went negative tho😢

  • i had a player on the enemy team who was diamond in my qp game. im a new player haven't even ranked yet.. we got rolled. they spawncamped us.

  • As a lower metal rank player I actually find ranked to be better matches than I get in quickplay due the they mmr and actually quickplay matches being far more sweaty, so the good thing at least I'm enjoying ranked more. and i wish QP mystery heroes had shorter cues like QP open role does

  • That happened me too but in silver ranked enemy team couldn't get 1 kill in 2 rounds

  • I get this once in a while where no one gets even 1 kill on a team.

  • I play QP with ps5 true bronze to masters on computer. Generally a 5 stack with a wide range MMR, our games are 1/5 very one sided but it’s surprises us how often they are even.

  • Qp and comp are basically the same. The only difference I see is the average competence level is higher in comp, a lot less of people walking solo into the enemy team and feeding or just not having peripheral vision

  • I am 100% certain QP is filled with people who treat it like they're top 500 comp, or like they have never touched a m&k in their life

  • As a quickplay quentin, I can say that you can ABSOLUTELY climb the quick play mmr ladder. My competitive rank is gold/plat, but I consistently get matched against masters/gm players in quickplay on all roles. If I played 500hrs of competitive I could probably get masters/gm, but the style of gameplay is so different I just don't think I would enjoy it...

  • Boys wish me luck. 3/5 wins plat 2 no losses on card. 2 more wins gotta be diamond. Update: Got stomped first game… wasn’t even close… 2nd game was close but tbh wish we hadn’t stopped playing the night before. Rip Update 2: decided to solo queue today, played 10 games and finally hit diamond 4. Lets GOOOOOOOOOO

  • 2 of my qp games had master supports in them yesterday, I peaked at silver 3 on support. The matchmaking is actually atrocious

  • My first comp game had platinum players. But technically I've played only quick play for like 200hrs.

  • It doesn't go off of your rank. The mmr is separate from the two modes.

  • I lost access to my main account recently, and made a new one. During my grind in quick play to unlock comp, I have been in a lot of lobbies with diamond, masters and grandmaster players. I never made it higher than about gold 2 on my main account, so for them to stick a new player in these lobbies seems ridiculous.

  • so I'm a QP plater through and through, I have like 200 QP hrs compared to like none in competitive, and when I tried to switch to competitive it put me in gold/plat lobbies. I can't exactly prove this as it was close to the beginning of the season and I don't have anything saved from those games, but I remember explicitly, in my third game(I had even lost the past two quite badly), everyone else in the lobby was at least gold.

  • I don’t know how accurate it is to say that quickplay tries to match players like competitive from my personal experience. My tank is gold, yet every 1 to 2 matches I’ll get a master or gm tank as my opponent and every other game seems to either be a diamond tank or a random bronze/new player. Btw I’m very much a quickplay warrior, I have maybe 100ish total comp matches for tank lifetime

  • I have realised ye that in quick play(if i play with my gm friend) there are alot of gm players as enemies too and i do quite well against them(im hardstuck on bronze/silver)

  • I placed gold 4 in comp on support like 3 months ago, and have basically played nothing but QP since. I see quite a few plats/diamonds and even a few masters/Gms in my games now.

    • This has happened to me as well. I'll be in the game with masters players while on support and pay myself on the back only to realize their other support is probs gold with me. lol

    • Same. I see people on the high end of the spectrum constantly in QP despite just being Diamond 3 in comp. I peaked like two years ago in OW1 a game from GM so it makes me wonder if it’s somehow still taking that into account and it just thinks I haven’t played enough comp to be at my “true” rank (when that for sure isn’t anywhere near my rank anymore lmao)

  • as someone who plays this game solo, i feel like 90% of my games im against premades in qp and it sucks. Not sure they can fix it as this game really isn't worth playing solo most of the time. None of my buddies like OW2 though so what can you do. Just end up getting stomped 8/10 times

  • I'm only in gold/plat and get top 500/gm in my games all the time in quickplay. So no idea how it works, just feels really random to me.

    • Likewise i had a top 500 hog player on my team while i was kiriko

    • @Purrcat Also play support, maybe they just lack supports in the que.

    • @naywils i also play support and will get top 500 tanks when i'm gold/plat. i think it's mirror matchmaking, as in dps ranks mirror eachother, tank will mirror the enemy tank, etc. i could be wrong though!

    • 2 days ago as a diamond, I've faced a GM support and a Top 500 DPS. Even tho it was a funny expérience, what happen was kinda ugly. The GM support pocketed the top 500 DPS and he decimated everyone lol

    • @[DCF]Ravitas3 that makes me wanna cry and i wasn't even playing that game LOL, oof that's tough

  • Private profiles added into overwatch is literally one of the most frustrating things I wanna see info I don’t understand why it can be private

    • So the game can hide it’s dogwater matchmaking

    • it was added because toxic players wouldn't shut up about them lol

    • @Rune This so much. The amount of time I was flamed and called "arcade twat, go back there" is enormous. Can't even play the mode I feel like without some baboon being triggered about it.

    • Yup, blizzard had to protect the annoying one tricks.

  • I’m bronze and yesterday I had to play against two master dps That was no fun

  • always love a ramattra gameplay even if it's qp

  • I only play quick play. I've been in many games that look like this.

  • Its also the near the end of the season so people who normally play ranked just arent. Qp games near the end of the season are always so much sweatier than in the middle of the season

  • The first time I went into a competitive game I had diamond, bronze, gold, and a top 500 comp player in my game

  • I wish that they had an unranked game mode. Not as sweaty as ranked but more serious than quick play.

  • Wish me luck, finally got into diamond for the first time in 4 years! Also gonna try to start posting clips. I posted a nice Ana one

  • The quickplay matchmaking be harsher then the comp one fr

  • There's a known scoreboard bug where one or more players show zero kills until their team gets to use one or more ultimates. /s

    • You mean the bug called "skill-issue"

  • What's the average heals to deaths of gold and Plat for support?

  • i placed silver this season even though i was plat in ow1 and stopped playing comp but now i get top500 and masters players in match making qp i dont understand whats happening

  • I got put in a match with multiple high masters players on the other team, they barely won on ot, and were tilting out of their minds complaining about everything.

  • my cousin got me to return to overwatch, your content convinced me to stay. even completed the battle pass for season 3. now to finish my placement...at the end of the season, for that sweet sweet silver

  • In theorie, you could be a bronze player in comp, then play exclusively qp, and get a GM mmr with a bronze elo

  • It's still sweaty in QP even if you're low. If you have a duo or a stack with a higher mmr on either team, it will be sweaty. Sweat is a sweat is a sweat.

  • For me the true fps test is Blizzard Word, the floating crystal literally makes me play at 40fps sometimes

  • QP is just comp in mmr matchmaking but you don't have the cosmetic indicator of how good you are so people don't get as angry

  • A thing that i still do not understand, after i start doing ranked, my MMR is only affected by ranked, but my MMR in ranked still affects my quickplay? Also, playing quickplay, do not affects my MMR in ranked? Is that right? Besides that, do we have an MMR for each role? Or is it an general MMR for ranked?

  • I had a game on Shambali end of season 2 where we had 0 kills the whole first round. 😢

  • I like playing QP with my friends because they're bronze silver and I am Masters and I just spawncamp all game every game

  • had a game with our tank being plat and enemy tank was t500 dps and GM tank

  • I’m a quickplay player climbing up without wanting to. My wins are at 80 and my losses are at 120 and that gap is widening bro. I can’t have fun in because everyone is always better than me. My matches are getting harder and I’m not even improving 😭😭

  • I played with Emongg in QP a few days ago, and I'm High Gold/Low Plat support.

  • having a duo on qp is already op since no one talks in qp but you have someone you can talk to. And you guys queued up as 2 top 500 duo who talk. Thats just an easy hunt.

  • I never touch comp but the last time I did I was low gold in overwatch 1, but I get Masters and Grandmaster players in my quickplay games now in OW2

  • I wonder how fast q times would be if mmr wasn't used at all for the game mode called unranked.

  • Oh QP, I love it Thanks for the video flats!!!

  • I haven't played comp since early OW 1 but I always seem to get masters and diamond players in my qp matches so idk what that means

  • QP matchmaking is so scuffed. Our Gold stack had Masters players on the enemy time nearly every game last night. There's no world where that adds up.

  • Quick play ?! That are my ranked lobbies since I started to have a massive losestreak from plat down to silver as sup QuQ

  • It doesn’t make sense that you don’t get to do attack AND defense in comp only but don’t get that in quick play. For that alone I don’t care to play quick play even for practice.

  • I got ranked plat 5 after 6 comp games but in qp, I go against people with masters/gm often and even top 500 sometimes. Is there a reason for this?

  • Played 500 hours of OW2 and only in unranked QP as of the last 2 months I have been in lobbies where diamond 1 is the lowest rank in the lobby besides myself being unranked

  • That’s like your average QP game

  • I uninstalled again today, gonna take a break for 1-2 seasons. I literally had a dps Moira in each and every game

  • You probably already know this, but you are good man! :)

  • Based on the way I've played against gold and plat players and seeing how some of them play, I am surprised they are gold and plat.

  • My cod lobbies used to look like this, we called it pub stomping

  • I just got one with two diamond players on the enemy team. I'm barely silver on pc.

  • Thats what happens to me,i dont play comp so my Q plays since my start with OW2 getting better lobbys,at the begin was almost all bot lobbys.....if that is what u meant

  • "classic w+m1" at the end of the day, seagull is still a roamer

  • I’m silver and I routinely get matched against diamonds and masters in qp. The games are fun though.

  • Remember when the key point of 5v5 was less stacking and rolling What an absolute failure that turned out to be

  • If we got GMs, they will got GMs too in their team. Yea, devs said that's the plan with matchmaking. Sadly their plan often doesn't work at all. GM-Diamonds-Plats in one team vs only Plats-Golds in other team. Braindead Blizztard is braindead.

  • I’m the absolute bottom of the barrel like I’m talking plastic 3, so I only play QP, but still play against god level players, but again I could just be the issue

  • i was just playing some qp yesterday, the games were so bad, was playing the same t500 players every game, even though i recently got to masters from the sr change, couldn’t do a damn thing in those games

  • I hit masters last when I played OW1 I’m around low plat right now and only match between top 500 and master.

  • I call bs, I was gold 1 season 1 and getting matched with diamond-masters all the time

  • As someone with a not great PC, Lijiang tower has frame issues for sure.

  • QP is just as bad as comp. I’ve had matches against teams that felt like GM teams practicing for OWL while mine were all gold at best and couldn’t even leave spawn on Push. Tried to get my friends to play so we could have a solid group, but none of them want to touch the game with the state it’s in

  • What skin does the enemy ramattra have in that second game? It looks cool

    • Its the white one on his hero page its like 2-300 credits I think

    • @Tyree Hawkins ok thanks, I wasn't sure if it was an overwatch league one or not

    • @shyro_pyro Your welcome 😁

  • You're surprised by this? Come on Flats. It be like that sometimes. This is why you rarely see new faces in your Ranks. Many are hackers and a lot of us man it hard bro. It's evil when you hit a team and it's like 0 functionality. It's just a meat grinder.
