Edit: I'm wrong here, look below at ikioi no Rafa's comment. Leaving my original comment for context I don't know Japanese very well so correct me if I'm wrong. But adding desu at the end makes it formal and polite which I think makes it even funnier. It's like saying "thank you for your time listening to me, I have a small penis."
Don't take this as fact, the only Japanese I know is from watching an absurd amount of anime. So this is just a very cringe educated guess. If anyone here speaks Japanese id love to be corrected and learn!!

@Madu Fog I'm fairly certain it literally translates to "is" or "to be" but implies a polite meaning to what's being said. I think it's a word that changes the tone of what's being said
@fafflerproductions uhh... no, I dont think so. just a quick google told me that desu (です) is neutral, da (だ) is informal, and degozaimasu (でございます) is very formal. And, I studied japanese for some time and "desu" is just neutral...
