  • Am I the only one who noticed the game had perfect timing for the effects it showed? It literally matched what Linus was about the say in the beginning.

  • What game is that on the screens????

  • I forgett to say fuuck nvidia

  • Does this work for 900 series GPUs such as my gtx 970?

  • Ngl I think the clickbait titles don't play well into stuff like CES coverage

  • Does G-Sync on FreeSync require a DisplayPort cable like regular G-Sync?

  • Soooo... can we use g-sync on freesync?

  • Did you smoke a joint before recording this?

  • There is a ghost in your studio.. Don't think dbrand would help 👻

  • Now I have a Rtx 2060 card? Which monitor should I buy? Gsync or Freesync monitor? Wtf I don't get itt

  • The gsync certification is just a smoke screen from nvidia to avoid admitting that they are unable to implement adaptive sync properly.

  • I recently purchased (and indeed am still paying off) an expensive 144Hz gaming monitor that supports FreeSync, which I had bought full well knowing that there was a G-Sync version that would work better with my GTX 1060, but that version costs almost twice as much and is otherwise identical. This feature hasn't trickled back to the Linux driver but assuming it does I really hope it enables G-Sync for my monitor because I would love to take advantage of that feature, especially since my 1060 can comfortably play games above 60 FPS at 1440p, but often can't quite reach 144 FPS.

  • Anyone know if this will work with a dp to hdmi adapter? I only have hdmi on my monitor

  • I received a 27 inch viewsonic monitor for xmas. My old monitor was dying so it was a heartfelt thanks when I received it. Now, it's a cheap one. Not fancy sync etc but I see no value added with this adaptive stuff. I just limit max frame rate to that of the screen and I have no tearing or input lag or anything bad. So, not sure if there is really any value in any of this stuff for me that I can see. Interesting to hear about but nothing I will ever buy as a feature I see adding value.

  • So I got a monitor that works with the freesync (I think, horrible at names sorry) to use for my consoles since one xbox one s can use that and it was cheaper than a lower resolution TV at the same size for some reason. My question is when this driver update comes out, does that mean my PC with my GTX 1060 will be able to take advantage of the techonlogy built into both my gsync monitor for my desktop experience and my second one that has the other version? It does have a DP and HDMI so idk. Somewhat new to this tech.

  • When does this come out

  • So...that is good but i have another big question... we know that all G-Sync monitors are 3D Vision compatible (almost), but i personally didn't find anywhere if the G-Sync compatible monitors are also 3D Vision compatible (different tehcnology, different bla bla ). Can someone clear out that for me ? Someone tested that ? Thanks.

  • I hate when he sais you still need a geforce card. First thing, that adaptive sync "freesync" is made by amd, and works on amd cards, so why say that. Also, u will need a 10series minimum, which he didnt mention?

  • Expectation: Nvidia would never allow some super löng non-validated gpu What i got: this

  • I do like this. It allows variable refresh to before accessible while still allowing for those who can afford it to get the most premium experience, however much better it is. That's interesting though because I did end up with an Rx 480 because I found a freesync monitor for way less than anything gsync.

  • i think this is happening amd is rising up faster and ever intel & nvidia are shitting them selfs so i think to work with them to slow then down maybe

  • has anybody else experienced screen tearing in youtube videos if adabtive sync is disabled in this version of the driver?!

  • any idea when this will be out using HDMI?

  • I bought a element gaming free-sync monitor back in November 2018. Does this mean I can now use Nvidia G-Sync with it or not?

  • It's a play against AMD to push FreeSync branding out of the monitor market.

  • Intel: Were going to support Freesync on our upcoming GPU's. That's why Nvidia decided to also support it. G-Sync only monitors that come with a premium price tag without better quality for the end user is a liability when the competition supports the lower cost to consumer alternative.

  • 3:17 Nah, that "was majority" they're talking about mostly doesn't involve real issues at all. It's enough that a panel don't have freesync enabled by default to fail their tests even if that monitors freesync implementation would otherwise be perfect according to Nvidias own standards... 4:10 Alright, I'll give you the first two. However the last one is (unless you know something I don't) essentially the same as Low Framerate Compensation on AMDs side, over half of the freesync monitors on the market got LFC support. And quite frankly it's not like freesync monitors don't beat the G-sync ones as well in some areas. High end freesync monitors these days actually have lower latency then the best G-sync monitors on the market and they often have better connectivity as well and several extra minor features. Basically the freesync approach with a open standard available to multiple monitor scaler companies exposes the companies in question to higher competition on the market and therefore also higher innovation and drive towards improvements. Don't get me wrong, Nvidia frequently improve their own module too essentially catching up with the freesync monitors for a short while each time they do. But they're only on their third iteration of the G-sync monitor by now while a *ton* of new freesync copatible scalers have been released in the same time since the launch of the first adaptive sync support from either company. And it shows. Nvidias approach is more conductive towards advantages that relies on calibration between multiple components. But it really isn't a case of one approach being better or more premium then the other, it's two competing standards with advantages and draw backs on either side.

  • “This one here is from...(peeeeel) ...Samsung...”

  • LTT you have to stop with the clickfarm buzzfeed titles. Its really fucking trashy and makes your great channel look bad.

  • OFF. LINUS! why are you look like a dutch man full on MDMA on a Rave party from the 90s?

  • If Nvidia really wanted to make it a "really better day for gamers" they wouldn't be pricing their 60 series cards at 350 bucks(400+$ for partner cards that are stripped to the bone like EVGA's model) and 1500+$ for a 2080ti that has 1 whole game that is RTX ready!!!!!!!!!

  • Will they allowe freesnync already?

  • Did someone get it work with MSI OPTIX MAG241C????????????

  • 5 YEARS AGO? WHAT!?

  • OMFG LETS GO I WAS GONNA BUY A NEW MONITOR, NOT ANY MORE

  • Your videos are nice and I don't mind the ads but would you kindly fuck off with the clickbait titles?

  • I wonder if the MS Surface Book 2’s “display” is G-Sync compatible now? Especially since they come with a GTX 1050?

  • So the Gsync monitor I bought is worthless now?

  • If I buy a freesync monitor, can I still use adaptive sync and gsync now?

  • Can I do that on my 1050ti With monitor acer VG240Y it support freesync

  • Where can I download this Geforce?

  • dear dbrand, make a screen protector for the samsung galaxy 9+

  • fucking finally. i EXPECTED nvidia to break, but i didn't know when. better sooner than later!

  • Is there a Linux driver?

  • the importat thing is Linu's new wireless dropping things technology

  • Agreed. RTX2060 is aimed at budget gamers and they are not buying GSync monitors.

  • pffft freesync has no blinking problem on AMD gpu its your damn driver nvidia

  • I like this guy haha ! 🤘🏽

  • Seems to me that Nvidia finally decided it was time for some positive press! After the greed disaster that was RTX....

  • I have the ips version of the AMD free sync asus monitor you have highlighted in the vid. And use gtx1080 So i might be able to use d G sync using driver update?

  • What do you think about a new video "testing" Nvidia's claim (explicit or implicit) that G-sync monitors are still "better" (that his higher quality) than G-sync compatible FreeSynch displays?

  • my MSI MAG241C is working great with Freesync on my GTX 1080. No more tearing!

  • It's been a long time since I watched any of your videos dude, nice to see you are still so enthusiastic and cram in so much info!

  • I indeed cannot believe nVudia did that possible

  • So it only works with freesync monitors and display port?

  • I have lg22mp68vq , it doesnt have a display port but a HDMI and a dvi port but I have a gtx1060 which actually has display port ,so will a display port to HDMI port work to enable gsync as using HDMI to HDMI I can't see the option for enabling gsync even after updating the driver , as HDMI doesn't work for gsync .

  • This in NVIDIA's way of saying they see AMD as a strong competitor now. AMD showed they're capable of making products that are similar to their line up. It's threatening their business model. Curious to see what we will get out of both of them and what our benefits will be.

  • so can i use a freesync monitor with g-sync now?

  • cool

  • So Navi will be a good deal when it appears? There is no opponent to play power against atm 🤣🤣🤣

  • I know he said it doesn't work on TV's but has anyone tested it on Samsung's 2018 QLEDs which support Freesync? It should work on those. I would like to know as I was planning to to get a Radeon card for my new TV but I would rather get an Rtx is this works.

  • Sounds a bit like embrace, extend, extinguish.

  • Linus proof. This never gets old.

  • Good thing I spent the extra $200 on a G-Sync monitor a couple weeks ago before this was announced. Ffffffffffuuuuuuu.

  • I cant even tell how much better is is because of my crappy monitor....

  • Can you stop the annoying clickbait titles please?

  • Linus where do I take classes to do such entertaining commercials? Is the only channel that really mottivate me to go and buy something if I need it.😆😆😆😆😋

  • At 2:30, what brand/model of monitor is that? I can’t make out the M#.

  • New title suggestion for linus: “NVIDIA CES 2019 BOOTH GOES WRONG **DROPPED SOMETHING**”

  • why did i just get this notification when the video is 6days old?

  • Hey does anyone know if the AW2518HF Alienware monitor will support this? Please respond!!! 😬👌🏼😬

  • how do you turn it on

  • guys you have to turn on freesync on the monitor itself first, if you dont do that you wont get the option on the Nvidia control panel to turn on G- Sync.

  • sadly completely marketing bullshit - it is "g-sync compatible" and ONLY works with monitors with variable picture-frequency. NOT ONE MONITOR WITH 60hz will work with it - and THATS whats freesync is known for! ... ANOTHER NVIDIA MARKETING CUSTOMER TROLL MOVE !!!

  • 3:40 the monitor on the left, the mysterious 'ROG PG35VQ' is finally here!

  • 7:44 Ciao

  • speaking of sponsers, anyone know when the Galaxy S9 screen protector will be released?

  • dbrang linus proof

  • FreeSync was the only compelling reason to go AMD

  • Figures. I just bought a 27" 1440p G Sync monitor 3 months ago. It was only $399 though.

  • Yep it's their answer to AMD's new card.

  • What´s with the aspect ratio?! Stop it!

  • Hey guys this is.... Whops wrong video

  • Why is RTX OFF in that Battlefield demo on the TV?

  • These videos are so well produced... do you have a sponsor or something?

  • Cool, for those of us who prefer to game on 85 inch HDR TVs we just need to get the manufacturers to put DisplayPort in instead of expecting us to use HDMI. Especially considering GPU manufacturers are still using the outdated version of HDMI.

  • Very respectable from a company that hasn't been very respectable as of late. For the record, I own a 1080 ti, and a g-sync monitor, so step down haterz.

  • Linus Linus Linus,$200-300 equates to $270-400 to us Canadians, you should know this since you are Canadian.... you know its not like the rest of the world think in American you know... ;)

  • NVIDIA really doing everything it can to bring that stock price back up.

  • That flickering monitor is actually a LG

  • this monitor and bla bla technologyz will make super noobs hehe 😂old school here 🤗

  • Great video, as always! I am wondering, would this work with an DisplayPort to HDMI adapter? I have a FreeSync enabled Samsung monitor, but it has no DisplayPort on it, only HDMI and DVI. Thanks ;)

  • Wow, respect for saying your honest opinion about Nvidias motives and mentioning AMD's hand in Freesync. If Nvidia begins to show you dislike, I'm sure everyone will know why.

  • so if i have a Free sync display but i run Nvidia ill be able to have G sync work on my free sync display?

  • 1:15 i literally have never laughed that hard in my life XDDDDD

  • Linus, I'm pretty sure thats a screw, not a nail... :/

  • link to the Nvidia list of certified compatible monitors?

  • Linus pls steal me that unreleased ASUS pg35vq behind you

  • apparently my lg 27ud68 isn't supported but it does seem to enable now before i use to just get blackscreen when i turn freesync on though it doesn't get the setup g sync in control panel Update* updated the drivers it does allow me to turn on g-sync it works but i seem to have less of a range before the tearing starts supposed to have 40-60HZ Freesync but with the 1080gtx i have 45 - 60HZ range before it starts to tear

  • As long as this doesn't somehow turn into a GeForce Partner Program 2.0, we should be good.
