  • CURRENT ENGAGEMENT RATE ON THIS VIDEO: 17% - WHAT ON EARTH WE'RE SO CLOSE!! Also... get ready for one of the best videos I've ever made in a few days time! 😎 To find out what you didn't know about CS-tv: cs-tv.org/tv/video-WKOkCpMZ3Z0.html

  • Never used TikTok and never will... And it's good to see content creators like you alerting people of it's harms!

  • Deleting TikTok was the best decision I've ever made. It was fun for a bit when it was still in the growing phase, but as it got bigger it just got worse, both in content and for my mental health. Deleting the app and not getting hooked before it exploded in popularity is 100% a decision I'm glad I made.

    • Okay No ones cares about this but here I am after 2 months and one week after deleting snapchat and it has reduced my screen time by 4 hours in a day and letting me focus on real life problems that needs to be solved. Such as building good habits and doing productive thing that actually matters for my overall growth and people around me. 🙏🏻

    • Good 4 u

    • Me who doesn't even use TikTok at all: epic

    • For our case , banning is the best decision

    • I completly agree, i got banned and it showed me how much of an unhealthy connection i have to rhe app

  • I think a huge issue with Tik Tok is the fact that it is programming people (especially kids) to have short attention spans, as they are so used to the short content.

    • @gabby ツ meditation is a great way to practice paying attention. Just meditating for ten minutes a day can help you a lot

    • @zomills yes. according to youtube TOS, you need to be 13 or above to be in youtube. that is why they made yt kids

    • True that's why young kids shouldn't use those kinds of apps

    • @Peizxcv nah i remember they had 5 second yt ads during 2015-2018

    • Npc factory

  • Hi there Mr Arun, very interesting and informative video! Just a quick question: Could you please list all the sources and references you used to create this video? because I'm now working on a case study regarding tiktok and the reasons why it's so addictive for young people in today's youth and happened to come across your video. It would be very beneficial if you could cite some references for this. I could use it a lot for my academic work🙏

    • That's what i was thinking! Couldn't find a few of the articles he posted pictures from :(

  • I hope this anti Tiktok sentiment continues to grow. Data privacy aside it's just plain awful for society.

  • If it wasn't for the ban, i don't think I would have escaped the notorious TikTok plague that is taking over this generation. I remember losing nights of sleep for just a few secs of laughs. It was v addicting. The app just seemed to have gotten worse! Thanks Arun for this video.

  • Arun feels like that one grandfather that knows all the secrets and myths and randomly tells them

    • “Use your camera and your microphone to learn how you react” I literally don’t show any reaction to anything even if it’s funny or scary I just had this trait from birth, so guess no one will know if I like something or not. Lol 😂

    • Hi

    • This feels way too fricking real

    • @Randomgamingstuff Yeah like you here

    • Bro these people are 4 year old like Random user

  • I truly worry for people who are practically addicted to Tik Tok. I've seen many people who grow addicted to it, being on it almost all the time I see it. Unfortunately, this is exactly what Tik Tok wants because engagement = money. Edit: Also saw how you talked about "Tik Tok Tics" glad to see it is being spoke about. I had actually made an essay about this for my language arts class.

    • @That One Guy From Teen Titans Who is Really Robin Plus, I agree, social media isn't inherently bad. But books don't see that you're suffering and profit off your suffering, or track your facial expressions. Sure, you can certainly buy books that appeal to your bias, but you are consciously making that choice

    • Do you worry for those people who uses Facebook and Instagram?

    • @That One Guy From Teen Titans Who is Really Robin okay

    • To be fair, most things are addictive, social media isn't inherently bad. A lot of people just lack the willpower to limit their consumption of potentially addictive things. Same thing with coffee or shopping. Neither is inherently bad either, unless you let it become a problem. Just have some self control and enjoy it in moderation. This "tiktok evil ban it" stuff just reminds me of the stories of when television started and people thought it was evil. Same thing happened with books lol.

  • Glad to see creators like you are making people aware of the dangers by these platforms. I've disabled access to my camera & microphone on Tik Tok. I only use it to view content I'm interested in

  • I am proud of mr who's the boss because he left mobile tech reviews to spread his 'bored with that' wings, so he can talk about the myriad of ethics related topics he cares about, and use his influence to educate the masses. It is not easy to break out of a niche you have become known for. I also like how he has toned down the slick look to look natural again. More handsome without all the polish

  • I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the valuable information and helpful tutorials you provide. Your channel has been a lifesaver for me as I navigate the ever-evolving world of technology. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to educating your viewers. Keep up the great work!

  • Even though it's banned in my country, there are many such alternatives already present. Like Reels, CS-tv shorts, etc

  • What's most scary to me is that CS-tv is noticing that TikTok is getting away with the unfair treatment to creators and they're beginning to replicate it..

    • @Suryansh youtube shorts is so boring like it's CRINGE

    • @Shetty404 Yup! That’s why I m ending at point of deleting instagram though all ppl I know are there. So idk yet

    • @Suryansh please give feedback to CS-tv on giving us users to have an option to remove shorts permanently

    • @Simon think about a slot machine. You pull the lever, and sometimes you win money sometimes you lose it. Same with tiktok, you are basically looking for that good video to get that dopamine Thats why they both are so addictive

    • Social media in general should be abolished.

  • It's not just Tiktok, there's many more cringe worthy apps doing rounds, although not sure about the privacy & security features of those but sure they are ruining the current generation I think they should also be called out. Great informative video as always Arun ❤

    • TikTok is worse when they MOSTLY share your user date to third party apps. What if those apps get breaches. We wont know because we don't even know the third party apps.

  • its so cool that Arun is still able to bring such amazing content to us. Keep doing the great work!

    • @Shyam Parmar nothing did, it's just a bot

    • What do you mean still able to? Did something happen to him?

  • Who remembers when try not to laugh challenges were still a thing and tiktok didn't exist those were the good times

  • It's pretty insane how easily people can be controlled by social media. It really makes me consider getting rid of it, but there are so many positives to it as well that I just can't do it.

    • i had that same problem, but at last, i got it deleted. plis delete it for your own good

    • @Toast 👍 most of it was never installed in the first place

    • @Saul Goodman do you have deleted all social media?

    • youre addicted

    • Same! My life runs on social media, but I wanna vanish from it.

  • When I first downloaded TikTok when it first came out I immediately spent 5 hours straight on it and decided to uninstall after that because I just KNEWWW how bad this app would be for my mental health and rhythm. I know that's also partly a me problem but I'm still glad I did it. If I want to watch TikToks anyway I just look them up on other sites LOL

    • Lols i saw how people were all glued to their phones all laughing alone, scrolling countless like zombies and then i decided to never download it at all, now im not perfect the internet still has me, but tik tok is extreme

  • 14 minutes of Arun’s content is like watching a quick succession of 60 TikTok’s. You’re engaged the entire time, learn a bunch and all the while doing it with a smile on his face. @Arun, hands down you should be playing in the subscriber leagues as MrBeast and PewDiePie 😮🎉 13M subscribers with an engagement rating of 17% as of writing, 18th Jan 2023. 18.5-21.2M, with an average of 22.6% by 18th Jan 2024 Reach for the moon, you beloved CS-tvr, you! 🤩💪🏽

  • Thank you for raising awareness. You can't really tell people to not do things, let alone control them, so bringing awareness is the best anyone can do! Keep it up!

  • Hey Arun, Love your videos man, especially some good food and you on the screen, it's already a party for me 🎉

  • I'm surprised you didn't mention that journalists' locations were tracked by TikTok, ostensibly so the app could work out who from inside the company was handing them data.

  • Love this channel, so clean and entertaining. Keep grinding dude!

  • It's amazing how clear Arun is to everyone, he can explain anything simply and quickly! Congrats on 13 mil!!!

  • This channel makes mind-blowing content and I wanna keep things simple all the time when there isn't too much complex things buzzing in my mind

  • It's funny. People don't seem to care about an app that records everything about you without your conscent, but I bet that if a person randomly just started following you around and taking notes of what you're doing, it'd be a different story... So why the difference? Never touched tiktok, and don't intend to with all that spying going on.

  • It's so easy to tell that you always put so much effort and time into these videos. keep up the great work Arun

  • Wow, I never knew any of this. Thank you for informing us of the dangers of TikTok.

  • CONGRATULATIONS ON 13 MILLION ARUN!!! I love your videos and I appreciate the effort that you put for your video!!

  • After preaching to everyone for years how they should take themselves off social media, I finally took my own advice six months ago. Best thing I ever did. Let it die, we all know it’s for the best

    • @NoobPerson305 do you know I’ve been watching him since I found him Monday 😂 that’s spooky. I follow “tasting history with max miller” which I think must have linked through my suggested 👍👍

    • @Edward Barton townsends has good videos on 1700s cuisine

    • @Patrick Kirby if all you’re doing is scrolling aimlessly that’s on you. I’ve used CS-tv to learn instruments, languages, how to cook. Currently watching a guy explain how people in the 1700s live so I’m getting history lessons, something I hated at school. Anyway, look what you’ve done, we’re arguing. Let’s stop before this becomes Facebook. Let CS-tv stay cool, and maybe broaden your search horizons?

    • @Edward Barton cheers

  • This is why I never downloaded TikTok. Some of the things that the app does without you knowing is terrifying.

  • As a member of gen-z, I’m so glad I managed to avoid this hellish cesspool of an app. I personally think that people really started to gravitate towards it in 2020 (pandemic-induced boredom and loneliness), and now our society is having to deal with the consequences of shortened attention spans and the need for instant dopamine gratification.

  • Only Arun can present TikTok facts in such a level headed and entertaining way 👏

    • The Waffle House, after ineffable amounts of globe-scouring, has unequivocally located its most novel host.

  • I love how clean and professional your videos are. I especially appreciate the digital graphics and lighting changes.

  • Great video, your content is always getting better every time you upload 👍

  • I respect you Arun, you make some great, informative and educational videos. However, as a tech channel, you should have known that since ios 16, you cannot use live wallpapers anymore on ios, as the longpress enters you into the wallpaper changer menu. It is one of the most common gripes with the new ios, everyone knows about it.

  • I think it is really scary that tiktok films their users without consent

  • Using your huge platform to share something that everybody should know is a great thing to do. Love you man.

  • Arun you’re energy and passion is on another level . I love you man

  • Well... I already hated Tiktok but you just gave me a bunch of reasons to hate it even more! Perfect, thank you.

  • It scares me how complicated tiktok is

  • Thanks for this content, Arun, it's both entertaining and horrifyingly informative.

  • Thats crazy, ever since I got a new phone and learned what tiktok does I decided not do download the app. Fire video ❤‍🔥

  • What I know about TikTok is that I'm happy to keep avoiding it. Years ago I watched kids I worked with become basically addicted to TikTok and developed a genuine hatred of it (not that I cared for its predecessor either). The first time my kid showed me a TikTok video also turned out to be the first time I was happy to hear "I found it on Tumblr." Kiddo still avoids TikTok. So yep, plenty I don't know about TikTok, but I'm glad I saw this video. Thanks Arun!

    • Big W, don’t ever use it

    • Same. I've somehow managed to avoid really ever getting on TikTok since it launched and my life is so much better for it.

    • @TBUK Tumblr on one side, Ifunny on the other, and 4chan watching from above. extreme left, extreme right and complete anarchy. Truly the only sites i can enjoy nowadays

    • Tumblr is the only good social media site remaining, and that's because it's less of a social media site and more of a blogging site with discovery features to help you find blogs related to your interests.

    • Now that's a big W

  • Thank you that you’re using your popularity for spreading such a needy information. Your content is 🔥.

  • Deleting TikTok was the best I’ve done for my mental health 🙏🏼

  • Arun is like that one guy that explains a topic to you and then you feel like a genius at it

  • I’m so glad I’m being part of that half that doesn’t use it 😁

  • Here we go again with another dose of much needed enlightenment. Sincerely i fear for the forthcoming generation if all these facts about the social media are not made known to them. Thanks once again BOSS

  • Good video and whilst I understood most of the behaviours go on, seeing them all grouped together like that brings home how harmful a platform it is. I have to ask though: having lambasted TikTok as being morally reprehensible in the way they do business, and stating that their algorithms proactively worsen people's state of mind in several ways: Why exactly do you have an account on that platform? Surely you must vote with your feet and refuse to support a business (by being a "creator" on that platform) that acts in such a way?

  • Very educational video, let's shoot up the Engagement for this video, love all the way from Zimbabwe

  • Tbh, I was about to only comment because he said he wanted to beat the interaction rate, but now I feel like I need to say how entertaining he along with every one of his vids are

  • These are many of the reasons why I don’t have TikTok

  • I’ve never used TikTok and never will. I’m glad that creators are now addressing the harms that TikTok can cause.

    • How does that concern other ppl????

    • @Side Character they copied tiktok yet a lot more ppl are using tiktok😂😅

    • @justasking Google and Facebook are already trying with Instagram reels and CS-tv shorts

    • @Side Character thats the problem, Google and facebook would like to have tiktoks algorithm...

  • Your videos are among the best edited videos on CS-tv. I know you put a lot of time and effort into that, so here are my compliments.

  • Thanks Arun for making people aware of this. Really hope it gets banned in America

    • I also hope it’s banned in the Philippines. I hate people who are browsing that in front of me or beside me when I am commuting. It’s mostly disturbing.

    • @humano gaming yes. South America

    • @Ana Beatriz Domingues Brazil it's in américa? Aswell as argentina,Perú,chile and all latín américa

    • I hope it gets banned from every country

    • I hope it's banned outside of china

  • Let's get that engagement up to 18%!

  • Great honest content as always Arun, thank you 🙏

  • Seeing TikTok makes even Instagram reels look better

  • The amount of predatory content or just plain misinformation that is seemingly allowed on TikTok, yet creators who call it out and make reference to it have their videos immediately removed and even banned, is VERY worrying.

    • All platforms have the same problem though

    • Bot thought he was doing it

    • Same happens to CS-tv sometimes. Ann Reardon of How To Cook That made a video on the dangers of a popular woodburning method and at first get video was flagged as dangerous content...

  • These days.....Arun has coolest videos on youtube The transitions and Energy......its just 🔥

  • Very True on the algorithm Arun. Recently there was deadly plane crash in Nepal killing more than 70 people including a guitarist, a doctor and his family, a singer , traveller and more. But the Tik tok here in nepal has highly been suggesting content from the account of the deceased , which is very disturbing. i understand it may have been triggered by people searching for it but its just plain disturbing

  • I didn’t even download the app 😌 One of the best decisions of my life ✅

  • I'm so glad I already knew about these things. And it's actually much worse than that (I won't get into too much detail but basically they can put certain videos on blacklists, and manipulate your feed so that you don't see things they don't want you to see) I've never installed Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or tiktok and don't plan on doing so.

    • CS-tv Shorts, IG Reel too. It's the same sh*t.

    • Reels and shorts are repost tiktokks

    • You didn’t even installed CS-tv ever 😃. CS-tv also has kind of TikTok section (Shorts) and the algorithms are working the same way.

  • he didn't even know he roasted Bella 😂😂😂😂😂

  • This has terrifying implications and consequences to our society. Thank you for being such an incredible creator and researcher!

    • I think all forms of apps that use vertical short duration videos need to be restricted, maybe set max watch time

    • @Konstantinos Pentespitis the challenges are hurtful for sure. What is more alarming is the amount of pornographic and dangerous content on the app. Can we really allow apps like this to be in the hands of children?

    • What I think is that if people are stupid enough to do these obviously hurtful challenges then they shouldn't count as part of society

  • This makes a lot of sense now! During 2020/2021 I saw that a surprising amount of people in my school year had tics and a lot of ppl got shit for it bc their stress levels lowered and they stopped ticcing so people thought they were faking. This study now makes a lot more of this behaviour make sense

  • I honestly never wanted to use TikTok but I had to use it once because of a P.E activity where we had to post an exercise routine.

  • Thanks Arun for always making engaging and enjoyable vids.

  • This shows we're right when we say we don't want to use Tiktok

  • Thank you for giving us the truth and for not falling into the trap that many other creators are in, and thinking they have to do this or that to advance their content. What you are doing and how you do it is the reason why you are popular. Tik Tok is a sad way to get what you have. I throughly enjoy your channel and appreciate the time and "tiring" energy you put into your content.

    • CS-tv sh0rts are rep0st tiktokss

    • ntent. 305 Reply sdgnfj

    • @The Bean every kid and teen not everyone

    • Thats not a crime though, almost everyone uses it

    • 👏👏👏 Great speech that gave you a subscriber lol

  • Great video as always. It's mad how we have become sucked in by social meoda apps over the years.

  • I refuse to use TikTok and Arun perfectly shows why. Thanks for another informative video!

  • So you mean to tell me… TikTok saw all those un flattering angles I hold my phone at-

  • The clipboard one is actually legacy code from Douyin as there are shortcut codes you can copy for Douyin and the app will auto launch special features once it detects them

  • This is a really great breakdown!

  • We need to get the engagement rate of this video to 20%. Let's make it happen.

  • I appreciate your unbiased explanations on so many subjects!

  • Hey Mrwhosetheboss, i just want to say thanks for making this video so interesting and fun. I've been watching youtube videos throughout the day and its gotten really boring but this video has so much exictment in it it just got me really happy and made me want to make this comment. So thanks for making this video and post more like it!

  • Lets do this. Lets get this video's engagement rate to 20%

  • Most of these challenges I've never heard of or watched before on Tiktok and even if it did pop up I would skip them anyways. The only way I would ever know about these stuff is through the tiktok new channels or whatever they are considered where they warn against them instead. It's strange for people to see people hate on the tiktok algorithm for showing them what they pay attention to the most, it's as if tiktok shows us a side of ourselves we don't want to see

  • Oh My God... this is why social media is so dangerous to the younger more easily influenced generation! TikTok, Snap Chat, Instagram... when will we wake up to the damage we are doing through these platforms!?!

  • Thank you, just thank you. I can't express enough to almost everyone around me how dangerous TikTok is. i deleted my account and haven't used it in about 2-3 years. Cause I noticed it was severely declining my mental health, I was wasting countless HOURS just mindlessly scrolling, and becoming radicalized with crazy conspiracy's that were just believable enough to change my entire world view. I can't deny that there is genuinely good content on tiktok, mostly in the comedy genre. It just seems anything beyond that is dangerous, and at the very least wasting billions of peoples lives. Much Love, Peace Out.

    • great work

    • I did the same thing tiktok is brain dameging it destroys the attention span area of the brain and can cause short term memory loss ever since I deleted it i have felt much better

    • Yes, Big W

  • Great stuff Arun! A banger of a video and you also confirmed some of my suspicions about TikTok

  • I totally love how you broke this all down. Keep up the awesome work!

  • Just if I didn’t knew how much TikTok already hides from it’s users

  • I love how spontaneous he is keep up the good work

  • I'm glad to say, Tiktoks algorithm doesn't know me at all.

  • This explains some of the shadow bans people end up getting. I was hesitant to use it for the longest, but ended up having to for work. I'm glad to see Arun talking about all the dangers and shady doings.

    • @Matthew Blaikie be mad someone in a comment section doesn't like my job? Lol. You don't have to worry about that. Also, I'd say working in retail/customer service is 1000 times worse.

    • Worst job ever. Don't get mad, that's just my opinion.

    • @Naehabla Social Media Management.

    • What work forces you to use Tik Tok?

  • Bro your content has really improved from past videos. It is interesting, engaging and just amazingly informative. And yeh Tiktok always creeped me out. Not because of the creepiest algorithm, I am just knowing about this now, but the fact that it messes with every teenagers brain. This continuous scrolling is awfully dangerous.

  • This is one of the most important videos out there and needs to be shared for awareness.

  • You don't need a specific app to download a separate app to use tiktoks as wallpapers. I have an Android and I can use tikotoks as wallpapers, it's an option in TT settings.

  • Thank yo8 for showing us that tiktok is hiding in my walls. I appreciate the time and effort you took to tell me about such threat! I will now do the steps to exterminate the pest that lives in my walls. Once again, thank you!!! ❤️ 💙 💜

  • I've never had tiktok and never will. Great video :)

  • I downloaded TikTok last year and took it off after a couple of months. I wouldn't describe myself as having an addictive personality, but soon realised I was easily spending an hour a day watching the videos. Oddly enough, Instagram - which follows a similar format - is easy to watch for ten minutes or so and then turn off - so yes, I'd say there's something very insidious about the algorithm.

    • I find it quite educational, obviously not from the user comments, but the videos give me ideas on what I could look up. The videos' also depends on your location, as I have seen many US Americans struggle to find decent TikToks. Of course, mobile app is much more pleasant to watch on and easier to ignore the "dark sides", as if CS-tv has none.

    • It explains Instagram is too boring...lol

    • @j s yo???

    • Same I also Get too many of these videos if you know you know when you see this emoji 😩😩😩

  • always a good day when arun uploads!

  • I knew most of this stuff besides the challenges. I've heard about the touret syndrome and I always rejected TikTok consciously because I knew it was posion from the start

  • Now I know why I’ve never even visited TikTok!

  • Just the fact that Tiktok is the “international version” of Douyin is a big no for me. Just like all the other apps like Wechat or the Weibo International app, the iQiyi streaming to name a few.
