This song will always be remembered as the ronaldo song in my heart. The fact that he lost his son while having a hard time in his career and yet still gets so much hate is too sad and too unacceptable to me. The newer generations will see him as we see him now, an old, selfish saudi arabia player, but I will always remember him as my GOAT, no matter what people say. He is a true leader, passionate and overall great player and he deserves better.

Started playing football in grade 6, now in 2nd year of college, all those years i looked up to CR7. Always dreamt to go pro and do something good. Now I realise how hard it is to play like that on such big stages. He will always be the best to me no matter what anyone says, doesn't matter if he wins or not, nothing matters for me. He will always be my idol and I dream of meeting him once in a lifetime. But this doesn't mean I hate messi. Massive respect for him too.

Many football fans grew up in this era, idolising footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo, watching them play and wanted to pick up their skills and play at the same level as them. Now the era is ending, but we can appreciate being able to witness this era, watching footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luka Modrić, Karim Benzima, Gareth Bale, Xavi, Andres Iniestia, Toni Kroos, Bruno Fernandez, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Diego Forlan, Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and so many more at their absolute best. Even though the footballers that have dominated the title of best in the world were mostly Messi and Ronaldo, it cnanot take away from the fact that this era was stacked with some of the best talents ever. There won't ever be anything like this era. It was just incredible. That scene were Ronaldo just walks away while crying, and sits down, literally symbolizes what many fans feel seeing that heroes are on borrowed, and it is hard to let go. Soon we have to acknowledge that those times are just memories and we'll have to see what the new generation has to offer, and if it can top the previous era. Just think about it, in the 2010s we got to see Messi and Ronaldo in their peak and at their absolute best. When Real Madrid, Barcelona, F.C. Bayern, Liverpool, Man United and Man City were stacked with talent. I don't think we truly understood at the time just how spoiled we were to have witnessed it. What this song Viva la Vida represents in this video, is what it means to Ronaldo. With the line "I used to rule the world", it emphasizes Ronaldo's recent struggles and inability to reach the form he was once at, so the video looks back to a time when he was ontop of the world, when he was unbeatable and nothing could slow him down. Now clearly he is not at that level anymore. I really don't know why he continues to play, as he really doesn't have anything to prove anymore, he could retire today, and still have an argument in being the greatest footballer of all time. I think he may just want to end his career on his own terms, and I respect that. This era will be missed, but let's see what the next generation has to offer. You think Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland can top Messi and Ronaldo. Well football is game that improves as time goes on, and the current generation has learnt a lot from the previous generation. Let's see if they can top them.
