Sometime you have to take some time to think things through then go at it with a different approach. We know that there will be problems that try to get in the way but we won't let that ever stop us.   • You should have had the head resurfaced before putting the new head gasket in, this would have avoided you the issue had with the coolant still leaking through the cylinders. Love your videos by the way :)

  • dudes you have to mill the block to it´s aluminium and is probably warped, might as well take the whole engine apart. the crank and rod bearings dosn´t like coolant mixture and overheating either, ps you guys rock still big up from sweden

  • So sorry guys, that auto correct is really annoying. I'm a born again christian and feel so embarrassed about that auto correct. Anyway guys just a rule of thumb when removing an aluminum or cast iron head, the procedure is to have the head milled so the head surface will be perfectly straight. This will ensure proper head gasket longevity.

  • Sorry, stick in the mud. Stupid auto correct.

  • Guys I hate to be a dick in the mud but you had to shave that head before your reinstall or you'll have premature gasket failure.

  • Best way to learn is to try and sometimes make mistakes. It's also the most expensive way, but you will sure remember them for the next time!

  • Always a good idea to check flatness of the head surface because its machined surface. So when you have a blown head gasket, you should probably get the head machined anyway to make sure and to freshen it up.

  • No matter what happens, your enthusiasm just comes smiling through...brilliant!.

  • You forgot to "Resurface" the Head, probably that's why you get the water/oil mix again...

  • The thing a lot of viewers miss is, They try to figure it out as they go along, experience has always been the best teacher! I give them total credit for working as a team, they often show and say they made a mistake, and try again! ... EVERYONE OF US has made mistakes and can look back at things we have done and realize after the fact we should have done something differently. I totally enjoy watching the two of them! Keep up the great videos, and don't ever let anyone tell you that you cant do something if you determined enough!

  • YOu guys have a good engine with a simple sensor difference most likely the cam sensor, either get this sensor swapped out or use the harness from the parts car, I have swapped honda engines before and either had to change a sensor or a couple wires had to be swapped in the jacks for the sensor...get a copy of the wiring harnesses online and see what the differences are...dont buy a new engine you already have one at hand.

  • Just take the head off of the 05 engine, send it to be machined flat and swap it out. That new head gasket will need changing but everything else new should be ok.

  • If you are doing a head gasket job and you are not replacing the pistons you should never clean them or the car will smoke after you put it together and run it . Learned it the hard way

  • You guys have warped head ot block. You should have had the block and head decked. Dont throw away the engine. It will only cost a couple hunded dollars instead of thousands for a new motor. Never use a wire wheel on the block to clean the gasket. You should have used a razor blade. Try again guys. It a good learning experience. Love the videos.

  • I like to see you swap something else into this car. An LS swap is usually the first thing that comes to mind when one hears “swap” but something different and off the wall would be even cooler. Maybe a 2jz, Coyote, or even a Hellcat would be neat to see. With that being said I know absolutely noting about S2000’s or the complexities of a swap like that so this may not even be possible or a completely stupid idea. It would make for some interesting content, test your skills, and take your car building to a different level.

  • You guys need to learn about the engines now! It’s time!!! Get some help from local machine shops and learn about engines this time! What I think is that you should swap the wiring harnesses and ecu from the wrecked S2k that’s the most sensible option here.

  • Whenever you do a head gasket you should take the head to a machine shop and have it pressure checked and resurfaced . Also whenever you have antifreeze mixed in with the oil there's a good chance the main and rod bearings will need replacing . Also if you pull the head off a motor and see cylinders that are clean and carbon free that usually means water has been getting into the cylindet or cylinders.

  • Cylinder heads and blocks may need to be resurfaced to restore flatness or to improve the surface finish. To seal properly, a head gasket requires a surface finish that is within a recommended range. If the surface is too rough, or in some cases too smooth, the gasket may not seal properly and leak or fail. Try to resurfacing your cylinder head and block.
